Unwilling to give the other boy any breathing room, he continued to follow after Zura, channelling chakra through his sword as the acid bubbles formed between them, his weapon batting the bubbles aside without puncturing their chakra shell much like he had sent the clone flying earlier, clearing his path towards the other genin with single bloody mindedness.

With his katana whirling through the air towards Zura, Kaoru decided to end the spar due to his boredom in this particular spar it definitely had nothing to do with his injuries dragging at his body. At the same moment his free hand reached for his waist and drew his wakizashi, the smaller blade slipping into position to deliver a killing blow before the Oborozuki could get away.

"Tis but a scratch," he panted out as he held himself still, teeth gritted a little bit as the pain he'd been ignoring started coming through his adrenaline. He was good at hiding the sensation, but there was some signs for anyone that looked close enough. "I think we both have a good feel of what each of us is capable of, ne?" He pulled away, sheathing his weapons slowly and plopping down on the ground with a hiss as he stared up into the sky. 

"You're ranged, which means it'll be my job to keep them away from you enough that you can do your stuff. The biggest issue is that your abilties seem to be area of effect... and I'm not exactly immune to them," he mused as he gestured to the open lesions that coated his exposed skin. He might have been showing signs of pain, but his overall demeanour didn't seem changed despite the injuries.

As his makeshift shield of bubbles were sent into oblivion under the swift strikes of Kaoru's blade, Zura could only watch in resigned amusement. Each bubble, intended as a barrier, was instead flung back like playful shots from a child's cannon, effortlessly repelled. Zura, caught with the point of Kaoru's wazikashi almost tickling his throat, swallowed hard, then burst out laughing, the tension of the moment dissolving. [break][break]

"Looks like you win,” Zura chuckled heartily, wiping away the sweat from his brow with a nonchalant swipe of his hand. He had strayed far from his comfort zone of gadgets and clever contraptions, such direct battle was not his forte. The boil techniques, while effective, just didn’t deliver the same zest as his beloved explosives. [break][break]

When Kaoru probed for any teamwork tactics, Zura responded with a lopsided shrug. "We could try stuffing you into a little metal suit,” he suggested, the idea dangling between jest and a tempting project. His approach to teamwork was, admittedly, a bit hazardous. If he wasn’t dousing the battlefield in acid, he was lobbing explosives with little regard for methodical placement.[break][break]

"The best I can do is try ‘n avoid ya,” he added, his tone light but carrying a hint of truth.

Kaoru frowned slightly at the suggestion of being stuck in armour. That sounded both boring and restrictive, why would he want to do that? No, that idea wasn't going to work for him. Scratching absently at one of the burns on his arm, the redhead thought for a moment, "maybe some kind of salve or something to help stop your acid from hurting so quickly..." he mused, "just 'pray and hope' isn't much of a good idea, and we'll need a good idea for how this can work coz I don't think either of us is gonna be making up things on the fly in the middle of a fight." 

Really, the duo could be a formidable team if they could just work out a way to integrate their separate skillsets effectively. Kaoru keeping the pressure on them while Zura attacked from afar. Really, if they could figure out a way to make Kaoru relatively unharmed by the other's attacks, it could be a terrifying experience to see him come out of an acidic fog swords swinging.

Though, that would mean less fighting for him, which was not a good thing... but it would help weed out weaklings.

Beh, a complicated scenario to be sure, he really wasn't sure what the right approach was. "Oh... we should probably go see a medic, ne?" he remarked after a few moments, taking in Zura's cuts and his acid burns. Yeah, sitting around thinking was probably less than ideal here.

Getting to his feet, he offered to help the other Genin up before heading off towards the hospital. Hopefully they didn't piss anyone off there.
