One of the first things requested of the kazekage's assistant was to escort an academy student with whom Kiyoshi had a strong affiliation. The reason or relationship behind this was unknown to Koki, but he had a vague clue if his relationship with Kiyoshi was any indication. The likelihood of them being another child, although a known one, they had sired seemed a highly likely scenario in Koki's mind which honestly didn't make his thoughts about his father very positive. If there were two illegitimate children there might be more and considering the Katsue were the types to stick together it only made sense Koki would develop a sort of protective nature to his possible siblings even if he hadn't met them before.[break][break]

So upon reaching the academy, with a picture in hand, he would begin looking around the academy for the dark-haired girl of the Aiel clan. "Sand Manipulator," Koki would mutter to himself thinking about how despite the two clans' distance from each other the two would probably do well together since each clan was dedicated to the desert in some way, shape, or form. So he was certain even if the two didn't know each other they could at least form a bond of the front so he was hopeful for a somewhat positive encounter.

Nayu stood in the middle of the academy's busy courtyard, staring out over the sea of strangers. She had been curious about the Kazekage's assistant's arrival, particularly after noticing the determined look on his face. She straightened as he got closer, excitement mixed with a hint of nervousness.

He muttered, "Sand Manipulator," his voice hardly audible over the din of students going about their daily lives. Nayu's brows knitted for a moment before it finally hit her. There was a flicker of pride in her at the mention of her clan's prowess with sand and curiosity about why the dark-skinned man would mutter that.

She watched as he pulled out a photograph, and her heart gave a little flutter when she saw the picture's representation of a girl with dark hair. It was her, though she had no idea why the assistant to the Kazekage would be looking for her. Still, the moment their eyes met she gave him a courteous nod, concealing her internal turmoil behind a calm exterior.

Nayu's sand carried her thoughts, "Good afternoon," the shape it took was meant to reflect a courteous but inquisitive tone. "I believe you're looking for someone?" Her eyes flitted to the photo he held in his hand, a silent nod to the question that had been hanging between them both. Even though Nayu had no idea what to expect, she couldn't help but be intrigued by the idea of this chance meeting.

It wouldn't take long before the target of his assignment would make themselves known and it was a rather small child. Well small in general, but in comparison to his height she reached to his shoulders which made him feel small for his age. Even more so because she was mostly likely half his age and this meant she was very likely to grow taller than him before long. This of course didn't bother him, but was merely an observation he was making from her appearance.[break][break]

"Afternoon," Koki would respond dryly his voice rather hollow as if it lacked any emotion behind it. His heart had built a wall around it to the point where most of his words came out rather monotonous to others and uncaring despite his at times caring. Putting the picture back into his pockets, he had pockets, he would respond to her question with a simple, "Yes." Giving the girl a bow of respect he would add, "Today's escort." It was a bit of a fragmented sentence as he hadn't built up full trust and respect with the girl, but he was willing to address her as best as he could with his current viewpoint of the girl.
