She didn't believe it, either. Even for the Shippai who would not obviously seem to have feelings of any kind to an onlooker, control and presence of something were not inherently the same. There was nothing to control, to reign in, if nothing was felt to begin with.
    Still, Arashi wrestled with the thought.
    Growing numb, dropping her hands by her side, and staring blankly as she confessed her fears.
    Then, something appeared.
    The change was only slight, but not unnoticed by the Shippai's keen eye. Uncertain, afraid, but the sorrow was beginning to flow.
    "It's okay," Unit 294 assured her, not turning his attention from the princess for even a moment. "If you break, you can be repaired. If you fall apart, you can be put back together. Change is inevitable for all living things. If you shift, or crack, or are destroyed completely, you may still rise anew from the ashes that remained. Your future is still ahead of you. Don't let anything keep you from it." He paused for a moment, before adding, "It's okay to be afraid. Even I know fear."
    He held out an artificial hand once more for her to take, if she so desired.

Harvest While the concept was not unknown to her, that it was okay to know fear and to be afraid, Arashi had worked most of her life against such things. It was a weakness to show it, and it only proved to bring her back to being that scared little girl who had been used. She had cracks, that much was certain, and there had been a select few who had been previewed to them. The special ones were able to see what laid behind them, and while she was pretty well together, she wasn't flawless. That much had been proven tonight... Still, as she listened...her body stiffened, her hands clenching into fists as she struggled to just let it go, to just...be in her feelings if just for a moment... In seeing the Shippai's hand, she'd take it as she looked away, allowing her grip to tighten as it finally...finally was allowed to see just what was bottled up in the woman's heart. Her eyes remained closed as tears streamed down her face. If she could scream, she would have, but she imagined that what would be released would likely shatter the village gate. So she just stood there, silently as she bit down on her lip and allowed her other hand to rest on her heart as she held tightly to the cloth over it. Arashi continued to allow the tears to flow, her body almost going limp, but holding itself upright by sheer will. Her sobs almost silent as she continued to allow her emotions to come forward. Slowly her grip loosened as she fell to her knees, her eyes closed as her grabbed at the sand beneath her as if to find stability. "I can't do this....I just can't do this....I can't do this again...Mom....I can't do this without you...." Her sobs only grew harder as she felt the stains on her face as tears continued to roll down and hit the ground beneath her.

Ultimate Defense

A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike.

Enhanced Smell

Somehow, Arashi has gained an enhanced sense of smell. It appears that she’s been hanging around dogs for too long and has obtained a sense of smell that rivals that of a blood hound. In reality, she has simply discovered that by channeling some chakra to her nose she can enhance the cells within it and gain a super sense of smell that may act as a sensor and tracking technique. She can smell out strangers, steel and various other things. Arashi may retract her chakra from her nose as well to make her sense of smell return to normal. Due in most regards to her heavily enhanced sense of smell, With her continued usage of this ability, she has now become capable of near passively monitoring the exact range of a target and their positioning within 250 meters. (Able to turn "off and on" this enhanced sense at the 'prick' of chakra to her nose)

Ichibi Curse Seal
The only ability Arashi has competent control over, this is the ability to utilize the curse seal marks over Shukaku’s body for her own bidding. Arashi can will the seals to cover her own body and control them to form various seals to preform fuuinjutsu from her own skin. As such, she can summon weapons she has sealed within them and rearrange the seals to be able to perform various fuuinjutsu that she has knowledge of without scrolls by using her own skin. She may also seal items within the curse marks and rearrange them to perform an unrelated technique before reforming them to summon the item at a later date.

Unit 294 moved quickly to catch the woman--though, being that he weighed less than even she did, he could only help soften her descent to the ground. Artificial hands on her arms as he'd moved to grab her, then released their grip on the woman as she sobbed. The puppet remained by her side, unsure of how to comfort Arashi--or if there was anything it could do at all.
    Perhaps, acknowledging that he could not provide any comfort was better than supplying mediocre service to the princess.
    And, in truth... he could not grieve for her. Her pain. Anguish. Sorrow. Only she could feel them, and he could not do the work for her. He could, however, witness her suffering, and stay beside her as she cried.
    A hand reached out hesitantly, unsure if it was right to touch her at all--but, already, he'd broken that contract had he not? It was different, he tried to think. He was not seeking familiarity or companionship for himself, and while it seemed unfit for a being such as him to even touch someone of her status... it seemed criminal to watch her cry on her own and do nothing.
    And so... slowly... uncertainly, the puppet wrapped its arms around her in an embrace, an artificial hand lightly patting her back as he attempted to provide some modicum of comfort to the princess.

The moment in which Arashi felt that she was completely broken and unable to move passed this had come and gone so many times. Between the loss of her own innocence, her friends, Akira....and now her mother... It felt as if she was on a constant tightrope, balancing every aspect of her life and keeping it together when a crisis came upon her. This seemed like the straw that finally cracked what mental stability she had been reserving for herself and she was hanging onto her sanity by simply focusing away from it. Perhaps it wasn't healthy, nor was it a weakness for her to express just what she was feeling, but the well was vast on just how much grief she had been keeping to herself. As she felt her hands still reaching for the emptiness that came from touching the escaping sand beneath her, she'd feel the embrace that came from the Shippai as it loomed over her, holding her as if to keep her steady as she remained on her knees. Her thoughts remained absent and unaware of the sensation with a mixture of warmth and cold reality. She'd honestly have reacted to it negatively had a small part of her had not wished for such contact, but having it was welcomed, even if it was from what could be considered a being incapable of such understanding. Doing her best to collect herself, she'd remain where she was, 294 still holding her as she held her hands to her chest as she sobbed, biting back her tear as she felt them overwhelming her once more. If this was truly that point of helplessness, she didn't see any way out of it... She often thought...even if for the briefest of moments, that when people did depart, they did leave something behind....what remained of their souls, imparting some comfort to those left behind... But just as she had sensed it lingering in the back of her mind, feeling that warmth that came with knowing that there was still some semblance of her mother still with her, that voice that drove her much like what she heard from those that loved her. She could not no longer draw upon that strength. As if reaching for it, she could only find a void...and it was hollow and just seemed to be growing...much nothing more than herself...just as 294 had said... She was no longer there....she couldn't feel her...sense her...nothing... Finally, Arashi would allow herself to begin to rise back up to her feet, her hand brushing against her fast as to remove the traces of her crying as she nodded toward 294. "I...I don't recall Shippai being known for giving comfort....ya really aren't like a machine..." A small smirk crossed her lips as she then realized a breath before doing her best to try and compose herself. While the smirk was brief, it faded to be replaced with a calm stare as she looked at the pale assassin and then closed her eyes. "Thank you...." Moment Music Arashi couldn't say that she'd be okay....who could promise that other than herself... Maybe it wasn't the most useful thing for her own well-being to push herself so hard and try and be more than what she could in such a state, but it honestly was all she knew how to do. Cause trouble or be supportive... The first seemed more inclined to her character, but her experience had prompted her to at least be more tame about her mischief. In the end, these were two things that she knew she could do well...and honestly...it was better that she keep to those two forms rather than let herself ball herself into a corner. "Come...we have huntin to do...and I don't wanna be out there too late..." Moving forward, she'd begin to continue her way toward the gate, moving through the barrier that protected it from intruders as she began her approach into the desert. While there were still some trails from her tears that remained, she'd slowly remove them from sight as her expression became more serious and focused on what laid before her. -To be continued- (You can make one last post if you want Mika. As always its a joy to rp with you. Sorry it took so long to respond. This will likely be moving toward a C.A for Arashi so if you are interested in being a part of it by all means let me know. But this probably won't be the last time Arashi needs her support Shippai lol )

The princess wept. She cried, and sobbed, and broke down before the village gates. Her tears fell into the sand, and she did not protest the meager comfort that the Shippai offered to her during her distress. He would not speak again for some time, simply allowing the woman to feel what agony she must, and it was only when she made the move to rise to her feet once more that Unit 294 released his hold on her and followed her lead.
    She wiped away the tears from her face, doing what she could to regain her composure, before making a joke of sorts about his nature.
    He wasn't like a machine?
    Was he not? His limbs were made of metal and wood and latex. His eyes were glass. His bones were steel, and in his chest was a coil of metal and canisters of deadly gasses and flame. Her comment was confusing to him, but then, he wasn't really sure what reputation Shippai were meant to have. They were living puppets--was he not like his kin? They were each designed with specific purposes in mind, and he was designed to kill.
    Though, I also have arms and hands that look just like a human's.
    An odd thought.
    Even though there were blades sheathed within, some part of his purpose...
    "I am grateful to have aided you in a time of need, Arashi-denka," he spoke quietly, giving a little bow to the princess as she offered her thanks to him. No, I suppose I truly am just a machine. Whatever the goal or intention, his purpose was to serve. When the woman suggested they leave to hunt before the sun hid behind the dunes, the Shippai nodded in agreement. "Let us make haste, then."
