Oriko does his best to smile back at Yuudai, but his focus returns to his jog so he can keep going, especially since he'd started to drift a bit towards one side while he'd been looking at the Chuunin. The encouragement to keep breathing works well for the Genin, pushing him to keep up the hard work as he listens, rather absent-mindedly when Yuudai speaks after several minutes. He catches the jist of his meaning through the tone, more than the words, and he stops the treadmill, panting heavily through the filter of his gas mask as the tread slowly pushes Oriko from the treadmill and onto the floor as its momentum gradually drops.
The medic nin finally stands up so he can look up at Yuudai directly, wiping his sweat-laden brow with an arm to make himself more presentable before he gives Yuudai another big smile. Prior to meeting this higher ranking shinobi, his smiles had been quite rare and most people didn't get to see his eyes scrunch up like that. He actually looks happy, which had to be an uncommon occurrence for someone who lost both of their parents and the only home they'd known prior to coming back to Amegakure.
"Thanks a lot - Skrk - for the physical - Skrk - training, Yuu-sensei! Skrk."
His breathing was heavy, but it was starting to even out as he was no longer jogging so hard for the endurance training. He looks like he's about to offer his hand for Yuudai to shake, then realizes how sweaty his own hand is and thinks better of it. Instead, Oriko gives the Taijutsu specialist a wave of farewell, hoping to meet him again for a very different type of training, one where Oriko himself might actually be the one to teach, for once. It was certainly a rarity, since he'd left the medical corps.
Once Yuudai leaves, Oriko does a few more miles on the treadmill; since Yuudai wanted him to train his endurance, of course he would do so, but when Oriko is too tired to continue, he starts his walk back to his home on lead-heavy legs, feeling quite happy with his workout.
