[Souzouteki Sogo]

Sogo sighs as she walks around Iwagakure, not really sure about where her feet are actually taking her. It was rare that she left the Okada compound now that her dad had started acting so proud of his "little girl" for having claimed a belt, even though she'd made the belt herself and proclaimed the "title" of the invented amateur division purely so she could help the younger Okada to learn the ropes and even practice some of the Okada clan's fighting style with her. She knows it's an important job, but it somehow made her feel a little guilty, like she had gone out searching for some kind of accolades, since her Taijutsu wasn't particularly strong on its own. Hell, that was why she'd taken up puppetry; if she couldn't fight, she could at least make something that could fight for her.

Sogo adjusts her blonde hair a little, making sure the ponytail is still tight. The goggles resting atop her head are jostled a little, and so she has to adjust those, too. Thankfully, her fingerless gloves don't get in the way of that. Like a lot of people in Iwagakure, Sogo is dressed for the high heat that bakes off of the rocks, allowing her skin to breathe with the tank top that left her musculature exposed. Across her lower back, sometimes getting in the way of herself or others trying to get around her, is a large scroll she uses to transport her puppets when they're not in use, bearing the kanji for Boar and Rabbit on either end, if only so she knows exactly which puppets are in this particular scroll. She had a lot more puppets to work on, but they could take years to get right. As it is, her waist is also given some level of support by the handmade title belt, with her legs covered in spandex that a lot of more modern Okada had taken to, ending with nin shoes on her feet, since she was one of the rare Okada that actually became ninja, further evidenced by the Iwagakure headband hanging loosely around her neck for now.

She found her feet carrying her deeper into Iwagakure, and straight into a more metropolitan area, led by her nose to a few of the food markets and even a few food trucks peddling their cooked menu items to passerby. Sogo felt her stomach grumbling with the need of being filled, so she sighs and starts walking towards one. The Okada clan food was delicious, but it didn't keep someone full for very long...

Another hot day it seemed. The climate of Tsuchi no Kuni was arid, hot, and unwelcoming to most sane humans. You'd have to be crazy not to dream of a better place to lay your head. Unfortunately, that's just how things were for humans. They had long since sprawled to the corners of the known world, inhabiting climates both harshly cold and oppressively hot.

Sporting his usual, androgynous tunic and fishnet undergarment, the arm sleeves mostly stopped his fair skin from getting blistered in the arid heat while he was making his way through one of the busier squares of the hidden village. Occasionally he would find himself fanning his neck with the collar of his tunic, much to the relief of Yukikaze, his companion cat. Much like the catboy, his familiar was also super low energy, baking under the sun.

Eventually, he would come across a small corner store he was familiar with. They were most known for their crushed ice pops, a sweet and cooling treat popular on a hot day like this. It sounded like just what he needed, though anything to get him out of the heat sounded like a fantastic proposition.

The pep in his step renewed, the feline began to close the distance to the store just about the time his path crossed that of another. In his sudden excitement he had failed to see that there was someone in their current path of progress, promptly running into them.

With a small -almost impossible for human vocal cords- squeak, the small and light okami bounced right off the figure, ending with them falling promptly on their tail. Talk about tunnel vision! Looking up, he used his hand as a shield for the sun to see the person who he had run into. Seeing locks of golden, a familiar enough musculature, he realized that this girl was from the Okada, somewhat. If it was just looks, he would assume as such, but he remembered seeing this girl around before. He didn't know her name, but he had seen her techniques on the training fields a handful of times. She was largely a fuin user if he remembered right.

While still in a daze, the catboy clumsily reached for a scroll and hastily scrawled a quick greeting on it.

Ah~! Gomen, gomen! Shizuka deeply apologizes for their carelessness. ...Is oneesan injured in any way? He wrote on the scroll, showing the context her and urging her wordlessly to read it, his intent ringing clear in his glacial blue eyes. Shizuka is terribly sorry... Um, so, that store over there? We were heading to it to have some shaved ice. Perhaps oneesan would like some, as apologies?

Sogo blinks in surprise when she meets some resistance in her pace, as well as an adorable sound almost like a dog's squeaky toy being stepped on. the blonde woman looks down, brushing a strand of her blonde hair back over her ear as she peers down at the smaller... well, shinobi. She'd apparently managed to just run directly into them, although it seems that the collision had had more of an effect on the smaller one than it had on her. Sogo tilts her head as she looks down at the other person, who looks somewhat familiar, but she's not sure from where. Most likely from the training fields, as they didn't seem like the type to go to an Okada show, at least from what she can see of them.

She smiles a little when she sees him pull out a scroll and scrawl an apology across it for her, and just to have a bit of fun, she pulls out one of her many blank scrolls, writing even more quickly than the other person had managed to, which might be something of a surprise for this Shizuka person.

"Hey, no worries, Lil Shizuka! Not a scratch on me. But hey, I won't turn down a free meal, so I'll have to take you up on that offer."

Sogo shows the scroll to Shizuka, having written it almost immediately after the second note to her, and she puts the scroll away after seeing the other ninja read the message all the way through, as well as the scroll brushes, so she can reach down and take hold of the shorter ninja's wrist to help them straight up to their feet. It's clear from her facial expression that she's surprised again, this time at the light weight of the other person's body. She's not sure if she's just too muscular or if the other person doesn't have much muscle to them in the first place. It could certainly be a mixture of the two. Her spoken answer is even more informal than the note she'd written, a type of speech common for the Okada.

"Anyways, Shizuka! I'm Sogo, Souzouteki Sogo. Good to meetcha."

Incredible! He knew that the girl was a fuinjutsu user, but he had no idea she could write so fast like that! A display of her skills to be sure. With a speed like that, it would be a cinch to use it in combat to create seals on the fly. Normally one would have to prepare their scripts before hand to blow later. With a blur like that, ain't no way that's normal human speed.

With a new expression of determination, he nodded, patting her arms twice in a gesture of familiarity before looking up and waiting for them to start to move before following them to where the boy had pointed.

Honestly this place was the best. If they'd never gone here before they were in for a treat. Shaved ice, something called 'frozen custard', ice cream, you name it. They had it all. It was like a winter wonderland in the middle of the fires of Hell. The place in his dreams.

With a jingle, the boy entered the shop with Sogo in tow, being greeted warmly by the shop owner. Being recognized by the owner, he kindly held out his hand for Shizuka's written order. For him it was always the same: Cherry Limeade shaved ice with just a bit of rock salt around the rim of the cup. It was pure joy to have something so sour, sweet, tart, and that little bit of salt at the end! It was like a confusion in his mouth that nobody asked for!

Alas, despite his inner excitement, he took his bowl calmly and waited politely for Sogo to order, his payment for her in hand. One she made her order and they decided where to sit, he pulled out his scroll again to respond to her earlier greeting.

My deepest apologies. It appears Shizuka has forgotten their introductions. This one is Okami Shizuka, a Nekomata of the Okami family. But... maybe oneesan knew that part already... His scroll read, his face partially hidden behind it as he brought it up for her to read, his ears wiggling cutely.

It is very nice to meet you, oneesan... There is hope that you enjoy your chilled dessert on this hellish day~ <3 His scroll finished, a heart drawing ending his greeting.

[Souzouteki Sogo]

Sogo seems quite proud of her rapid ability to write, but she's clearly much more used to speaking aloud by the way she speaks, while Shizuka seems far more comfortable with writing. It's also a bit odd that Shizuka doesn't seem to use any particular gendered terms for themselves, but she simply takes it at face value that her new companion doesn't really use those. At the very least, she takes note of his choice in shaved ice, while she seems to have an odd request of an Okada cola for the flavor of the shaved ice. She sits down across from Shizuka, giving the other person a big smile as she gets her dessert furnished with whipped cream and a syrup-covered cherry on top. She eats the cherry first while she reads out his messages to her, then swallows so she can verbally respond.

"Nah, nah, don' worry 'bout it."

In reality, she had only just noticed his ears when they twitch and wiggle, drawing her attention directly to them. She'd never met a Nekomata before. Did they all have these cute animal-like ears, or was it special to this particular Nekomata clan member? And were they all Fuuinjutsu users, too? Granted, the Souzouteki only somewhat use Fuuinjutsu, and their techniques are more reliant on Ninjutsu to create their animals, and Sogo hadn't learned how to do that particular feat. Then she feels a bit of color run up to her cheeks as the other shinobi said that it was very nice to meet her, and gave a heart shape at the end of his next greeting.

"It's great to meetcha too! And yeah, this dessert is great!~"

She takes a spoonful of shaved ice with a bit of whipped cream and takes it into her mouth, finding the taste quite refreshing, like a super chilled bottle of cola with a bit more smoothness thanks to the whipped cream.
