If she had difficulty reaching out to other clans, it was proven in the fact that it had as much to do with pride as it did with the need of asking for help. Granted, explaining the process in which to require certain record books and scrolls was difficulty, but it wasn't impossible. After all, there were still a few that were just as invested in history than she was. Not to mention that any chance to advance their own status was appreciated. As Arashi managed to comb through the approved literature given to her, she'd release a breath as an older male seemed to loom over her within the academy, his gaze shifting to a smile as the young Oonakayama heir would smile back briefly and then return to her scan of the text. Her effort was to find a possible connection in regards to the First Kazekage and the Chikamatsu that extended beyond their encounter that created the village itself. One that proved far more bonding than just the creation of Kaze no Kuni's continuity. Of course, what she was given was flowery text. "This can't be all of it can it?" "We do have more accounts within our library...of course...it is saved for our own....You must understand that while we do see the value of shared interests...we do also value privacy..." Releasing a sigh, the Jounin would then hand the book back as she moved on to the next. "Honestly...I can see why, but if what I'm lookin for is true...that could make me a relative...a distant one..." "Does one simply go on theories and perhaps now?" Noting the snark in the man's tone, Arashi would then stand up as she then handed the other book back as she then bowed and began to walk away. "Do come back and visit us again Oonakayama-hime...." Moment Music Holding up her hand with a wave, Arashi would then begin to make her exit as she came out of the compound. Her expression was more exhausted than anything, but she wasn't going to allow a limited amount of information to get her down. She just needed access..but she wasn't in that much of a hurry just yet. Thinking on it further, she began to move away toward the village. Maybe some distance from this would be for the best. After all...it wasn't exactly what was on her mind right now... In moving through the village, she'd move to the side as a group moved past, noting an older female running after them as she looked back to see them go into a stand. In watching the excitement on the children's faces, Arashi would smile briefly before releasing a breath as it faded just as quickly. Stopping short of her reflection, she'd see her face before allowing it to turn to a more stern demeanor, briefly brushing her hair from her forehead as she then relaxed a bit more. "You're being stubborn..." "I am not!" Staring at the memory that seemed to be playing in her mind, she'd see her younger self passing behind her, her mother right behind her with her usual causal demeanor as she looked on at the wild haired pre-teen. "That so? Tell me then...why is it so difficult for you to admit that you need new clothes?" "Because I hate shopping! Nothin wrong with what I have now!" "Arashi! Those are rags!" "Their not rags mom! Besides! Who needs to look like some prim up princess anyway?" Hearing the woman's sigh, the memory would fade before then prompting Arashi to then frown as she realized her hair was still following over her face, prompting her to pull back the loose strands once more, placing them behind her ear as she then began to walk down the street once more.

A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike.

Nayu's morning began quietly, the soft glow of dawn filtering through her window, signaling the start of a new day in Sunagakure. As she went about her morning routine, Nayu's thoughts turned to the task ahead: a trip to the bustling market.

With a woven basket slung over her arm, and a list from her aunts, Nayu ventured into the lively streets, the hustle and bustle of the market filling the air around her. As she weaved through the colorful stalls, selecting fabrics and jewelry with care, Nayu found herself growing weary from the bustling crowds and the weight of her purchases.

Deciding to take a break, Nayu found a quiet spot on the sidewalk, away from the hustle and bustle of the market. Sitting down, she let out a contented sigh, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin.

With a flick of her wrist, Nayu began to manipulate the sand beneath her, shaping it into different patterns and shapes. With each movement, she felt a sense of calm wash over her, the familiar rhythm of her sand manipulation soothing her tired muscles. Lost in her pastime, Nayu lost track of time, the worries of the day fading into the background as she focused on the simple joy of shaping the sand beneath her fingers.

Arashi was determined to take this to the Council in regards to her getting more information. After all, if there was a tie in which to make, there was no point in delaying it with red tape and restrictions. Especially since it wasn't like she was trying to steal them or anything. Of course, it meant likely bringing this to Lord Kiyoshi himself, which was a headache in and of itself. Releasing a breath, she was willing to bite down upon her pride for a bit for this, and was ready to make her way over to the Kage Manor, when she noted a disturbance in the air. It was strange when you were akin to feeling any kind of motion upon the wind, considering sensation was almost a foreign concept at this point due to harden flesh. But when it came to the wind and even the sand, she'd sense it like was warmth of the sun or the heat of a flame, or a spark of electricity. This recognition, likely from her own ties to Shukaku, allowed her to notice the manipulation of Sand coming from close by, leading to her seeing a small girl making shapes with it upon a bench in the market strip. Seeing this almost jovial display, aimless in it's action and to a point where it was just for fun, it almost seemed like a waste of energy. Still, considering her own practice with such abilities, she had been no different at that age. Of course, perhaps more broody. Moment Music As she approached, her expression shifted to a smile as she knelt down for a moment by the bench, looking on at this showing with a toothy grin. "Those are really good...Heh heh...not bad..." As she waved her own hand briefly, she'd summon a small gathering of dust cover the surface of her hand, allowing it to shift in it's mass and form before creating a ball and then shifting it again with a twitch of her fingers into that of a square.

A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike.

Sand Control
Arashi is granted two forms of defense by the Ichibi. The first one is a subconscious ability granted by the Bijuu is that there is constantly a barrier of sand clinging to Arashi’s skin. This barrier acts as a shield against her skin, absorbing heavy blows and protecting her. Her sand defense is very tough, being very difficult to break through. The sand has been likened to steel and concrete. The second form is one which pulls sand from her surroundings and the sand piled on her skin to form a visible barrier and dome like barrier around her. The sand is typically pulled from the ground and any nearby source. Arashi’s various dogs often have a plentiful amount of sand carried in their thick coats. As such, the sand is often pulled from their coats to be used to protect the girl. Through the course of her training, Arashi has learned to control both of these forms of defense to a degree, making her much more capable of mounting a defense in a variety of ways. But she still at times must incumbent some cooperation from Shukaku to ensure of it's sustainability.

Arashi can control sand and wind around herself to whip up sandstorms with powerful gusts. The sandstorm often appears when she’s emotionally strained and damaged. If there is no sand around her, powerful breezes will still gather around her. Shukaku enjoys teasing the girl to the point where sandstorms appear. But with the course of time, Arashi had grown more comfortable with this and developed a thick skin towards such actions by the Bijuu.

While Arashi had previous had little to no control over her other sand related abilities, she has a somewhat capable hand at this one. Because of the trauma of her sand attacking her classmates at a young age, Arashi has managed to reign in some of this power. Learning to bend the sand to her will, Arashi can keep it from hurting those she doesn’t want it to hurt. Sand will be gathered from nearby sources to be used as a weapon when this ability activates. This ability typically only activates when Arashi is in severe danger, but it has now become possible for her to do so with ease. Though it is more prone to activating near or on full moons. The sand takes the form of blunt objects or tendrils to bash or choke enemies. During moments of extreme strain, Arashi loses all control over this ability as well.

Nayu had been engrossed in manipulating the sand, lost in her thoughts when she suddenly felt a presence beside her. She looked up and saw a young woman standing there with a warm smile on her face. "Thank you," Nayu bowed her head slightly in a greeting, as her sand swirled and formed words for her, "and hello." A flicker of surprise crossed Nayu's features, quickly replaced by a shy smile behind her mouthguard as she observed Arashi's display of sand manipulation.

Nayu's initial surprise turned into confusion as she tried to place the young woman. She wondered if she was a long-lost relative or someone who had been away from the village for a while. Nayu's sand formed the word "Who...?" in an uncertain manner, trying to communicate her confusion.

After a moment of observation, Nayu finally realized that the young woman was actually the previous Kazekage's daughter, whom she had seen a few times before in the village, although never from such a close distance. Nayu felt slightly embarrassed for not recognizing her sooner, but quickly regained her composure, "Ah! You must Oonakayama Arashi-san?" The sand changed its shape once again.

However, she was still perplexed as to why Arashi could manipulate the sand. Arashi was clearly an Oonakayama, leaving only two explanations for her ability: one of her ancestors was an Aiel, or she was... Nayu decided not to investigate further. That would not change the fact that Arashi possessed the same abilities as her.

It was a bit daunting at first to see the display of words being produced through the usage of sand, yet in closer inspection, it seemed that this was the only means in which for the girl to communicate. Which, began to bring the question of just who she was. A question that was instantly realized in an instant. Still, it seemed that she wasn't the only one more than a bit out of depth with just who they were speaking with, leading to the Aiel's own realization as Arashi would lean back as she rose to her feet in seeing her name spelled out before her. "And you are Aeru Nayu....Heh heh...I guess we haven't really gotten a chance to be introduced officially..." With a smirk resting on her face, Arashi would then nod to her as she then tilted her head to the side. She had heard that Lord Kiyoshi had a daughter who was currently enrolled at the academy, but she hadn't really taken the time to look into it save for the knowledge that the Aiel Clan had some of it's members within the Academy now. Most of which were in some relation to Lord Kiyoshi. Granted, she wanted to be aware of just who his kids were in case of a situation, but she hadn't fully encountered or met all of them individually. Something she knew that she might want to invest more time in. "A pleasure to meet ya..." With her toothy grin still on her face, she'd lean forward as she nodded her head toward the letters within the sand and blinked. "Gotta say..I've never seen Sand Manipulation used in such a way....especially for communication...must save you a lotta ink and paper..."

Nayu couldn't help but feel a sense of relief as Arashi seemed to recognize her, even though Nayu herself had struggled to place her at first. The warmth in Arashi's smile and her casual demeanor put Nayu at ease, easing the tension that had briefly crept in.

Returning Arashi's smile with a nod of acknowledgment, Nayu felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. It was rare to encounter someone who didn't seem taken aback or uncomfortable by her method of communication. Arashi's easy acceptance was a welcome change, and Nayu found herself liking the older girl instantly.

As Arashi commented on her use of sand manipulation for communication, Nayu's shy smile widened slightly. She nodded in agreement, grateful for the practicality of her ability. "Yes, it does save a lot of resources," Nayu's sand formed the words as she spoke, the grains swirling and shifting smoothly. "And it feels more natural for me to communicate this way."

Nayu gestured to her mouthguard, indicating her muteness, before continuing, "It's a skill I've developed over time. I find it easier to express myself through sand." She glanced at Arashi, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "It's nice to meet you too, Oonakayama-san," Nayu's sand formed the words, accompanied by a soft smile, "are you here to shop for something too?"

" I get that...still...its a beautiful way to express yourself..." Seeing the soft smile on Nayu's face, it was almost impossible to note the mouthguard that covered her face to prevent it's full view. In truth, she wondered just what had happened to cause it's need, but it seemed impolite to pry into such a matter. Still, despite it, she was able to freely speak in a way that was comfortable for her, and it was quite ingenious. In all her years, Arashi never even considered the act of using her sand as a means of communication, but it was something she might try in the future. More ya know That said, the question of if she had come out here to shop left her rubbing the back of her neck as she leaned against the bench with a small smile. "Not today...I managed to get more than my share of supplies this week for home. Considering how much my father and brothers eat though...pretty sure I'll be back out here soon enough..." It was more than a comfort that any of the men of the Oonakayama had started to regain some semblance of an appetite. Still, it did give mind to her pack. While she was more than aware that they had been fed, she did wonder if she might need to get them some more food just to have coverage for the rest of the month. In a sense, they had as much of an carnivorous nature as humans. Gesturing toward the basket, Arashi would shrug before nodding her head in it's direction. "What bring you out to market though?"

"Really?" Arashi was more than a bit shocked to hear that Nayu aunts happened to have a business that involved tailoring. She actually began to question if she had ever been there? It was likely by force. Considering her history with attire had only recently started to become far better than before. Still, the girl seemed almost enamored by a certain set of jewelry and earrings she had been saving for while out on this venture for supplies. Though the display with sand had left out some key details, Arashi could only imagine that these gems were likely far more colorful than the more dormer brown that was shown with the minerals. Of course, seeing the excitement on Nayu's face was evident enough that this was something she was determined to have, leading her to further believe in their value. Yet as the question came to her in regards to interest in jewelry, Arashi would blink for a moment as she shook her head with a sheepish grin. "Yeaaaa....I've never been a jewelry kinda girl....not to say I don't see the value, but I just don't wear it often enough....save for this..." Pointing towards a silver barrette that parted her hair at the front, the young woman would sigh as looked upwards. "My Mo...I mean...alotta it was just for show really....but seeing how you view it might change my mind a bit..." As a smirk crossed her lips, she'd then look toward the market as she titled her head to the side at the other question. "Honestly....I don't know...I was kinda here just passin by and got distracted...I haven't had a chance to really look today..." Glancing back toward Nayu, the Jounin would blink as she held a blank expression.

As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike.

It was interesting when you were able to get a look at the world from another perspective, especially one that seemed to still have at least some desire or took pleasure in the wonders that surrounded them. As the two seemed to ease through the bustling market, Arashi would keep in time with the swift movement of the much smaller female as she weaved her tale of a beautiful night in the desert and even revealed a bit more about her family. Her mother was a traveling physician, which seemed to make the meeting between Lord Kiyoshi and her all the more plausible, but beyond that, it showed that the girl had at least been given the sense to be generous towards others. Often, our viewpoints were a reflection of the parentage and the examples set by them. Or at least...she liked to think so... Still, the description of the sky that she witnessed was almost romantic in her telling of it, the reflection of colors across the sands, the multiple hues within the darkened sky with the mixture of reds and oranges. Honestly, she could only think of a few times she had seen such an event or at least could recall taking note of them. So when the question came to her on her own experience, Arashi was almost at a pause in how to respond. Thankfully, the distraction of aromas was enough to detour the topic for the moment, leading them to the counter as Nayu seemed eager to try the pastries that hinted of honey. At the offer of trying it with her, Arashi would smile as she nodded her head. "Sure...the smell is amazing enough...can't imagine what it tastes like..." With the Aeru now placing the order, Arashi would find herself looking past the counter and to the side as she watched the variety of people move in passing. If the streets were busy enough, the cafe created a far more calming atmosphere as many had settled into the carefree environment with ease. Yet, she still felt a bit on edge as she managed to reflect a bit more on her thoughts. Though as Nayu guided them to an available table, the question of her own memories came again, leading to Arashi releasing a breath as she held a sheepish grin on her face. "Well...maybe not ones as fantastic as yours...but...I do have some...." Thinking back, Arashi would lean back as she spoke, directing her attention toward the ceiling over them as it shaded enough of the area from the sun. "I remember sneaking out once while I was with the Saeko clan while with my mom...stupidly thinkin I could actually do that with a group of huntresses..." Shrugging her shoulders, she'd then smile for a moment as she shook her head. "I don't even remember why I was tryin to sneak out...probably just to get some space...and mom didn't even ask either...she just sat there with me..." "Just sat out in the open....the cool air just brushing by and we literally just watched the stars for hours...seeing one of them shoot outwards as if it were ready to crash into the desert...some just seeming so distant that they were almost a flicker in the darkness...and it was so quiet that I thought there was nothing else out there..." That said, she'd find herself laughing lightly as she brushed her hair past her face. "I remember laughing as my mom made some corny joke about one time finding a moon rock and tryin to toss it back into the sky thinking it was a star..." Arashi would then realize she was drifting, pulling herself from as she then leaned into her hands as she closed her eyes for a moment. "Honestly...most of my best memories are out in the desert...but also some of the worst ones too..."

Nayu's expression softened with empathy as Arashi mentioned the mixture of fond and challenging memories associated with the desert. She understood all too well the division between finding beauty and pain in the same place, seeing the desert as a reflection of life itself with its extremes of harshness and wonder. Something all Aiel clan members knew too well, whether by experiencing it themselves or from stories told by the elders.

"It's amazing how the desert holds both our happiest and most difficult moments," Nayu signed, her sand shifting slightly as if in silent agreement. "But perhaps it's in those moments of hardship that we find our strength, our resilience... And in the moments of joy, we find solace and beauty amidst the challenges."

With a warm smile, Nayu reached across the table, her hand resting gently on Arashi's, a silent gesture of gratitude for sharing such intimate moments. "Now, let's enjoy this pastry together, shall we? I have a feeling it's going to be delicious." Her pink-jewel-like eyes smiled gently, conveying genuine warmth.

"Heh...few people actually see it that way....but its true..." Funny how just the idea of the concept of reflection in the perspective of others in regards to the desert could often conflict with the notion of the hazard that came with it. Though within it's danger came a level of beauty in how it was often always shifting to show change, if you knew where to look. Though the memories of it remained, hidden beneath the surface, often buried. Considering the level of hardships she had, it was a miracle that she had any pleasant memories of the desert at all. She'd seen people die there, killed people there, lost people there, was trapped there. But also, she had learned there, loved there, and even managed to make friends there. As she reflected on this, she'd feel Nayu's hand as it rested upon hers, prompting her to look over at the girl as she created the message of them going forth to enjoy the dessert together, leading the Jounin to laugh as she released a breath. "Ya know what? I think so too..." With a smile resting on her face, the woman would then look to the side as she watched the waitress make their way to the table, presenting the sweet delight before them as she then blinked before thinking on this for a moment. How exactly was Nayu supposed to eat this? Rude questioning aside, Arashi would then hold up her utinsel as she awaited for her to do the same. "Heres to a sweet experience...great...I'm gettin as corny as Asahi now..." Rolling her eyes, Arashi would sigh before allow the girl to eat first, waiting her turn as she then gently took a piece as well before placing it into her mouth. As the combination of flavors and breaded essences blended together, Arashi would find herself blushing as she stared at it with shock and awe. "Kami this is amazing..."

Ultimate Defense

A Skill granted by her continued use and developed relationship with Shukaku over the continued use of his control over sand, Arashi has a stronger connection to the element, allowing her to use it at a much more intensive rate than before. As such, her defenses are much more adapt and capable of taking on stronger attacks and reinforcing itself at faster speed. This adaptation to the sand shield allows for it's reaction time to have increased and make it more challenging for attacks to connect and break through the first layer, while acting still on the natural inclinations of auto-repairing itself for the next strike.

Sand Control
Arashi is granted two forms of defense by the Ichibi. The first one is a subconscious ability granted by the Bijuu is that there is constantly a barrier of sand clinging to Arashi’s skin. This barrier acts as a shield against her skin, absorbing heavy blows and protecting her. Her sand defense is very tough, being very difficult to break through. The sand has been likened to steel and concrete. The second form is one which pulls sand from her surroundings and the sand piled on her skin to form a visible barrier and dome like barrier around her. The sand is typically pulled from the ground and any nearby source. Arashi’s various dogs often have a plentiful amount of sand carried in their thick coats. As such, the sand is often pulled from their coats to be used to protect the girl. Through the course of her training, Arashi has learned to control both of these forms of defense to a degree, making her much more capable of mounting a defense in a variety of ways. But she still at times must incumbent some cooperation from Shukaku to ensure of it's sustainability.

Arashi can control sand and wind around herself to whip up sandstorms with powerful gusts. The sandstorm often appears when she’s emotionally strained and damaged. If there is no sand around her, powerful breezes will still gather around her. Shukaku enjoys teasing the girl to the point where sandstorms appear. But with the course of time, Arashi had grown more comfortable with this and developed a thick skin towards such actions by the Bijuu.

While Arashi had previous had little to no control over her other sand related abilities, she has a somewhat capable hand at this one. Because of the trauma of her sand attacking her classmates at a young age, Arashi has managed to reign in some of this power. Learning to bend the sand to her will, Arashi can keep it from hurting those she doesn’t want it to hurt. Sand will be gathered from nearby sources to be used as a weapon when this ability activates. This ability typically only activates when Arashi is in severe danger, but it has now become possible for her to do so with ease. Though it is more prone to activating near or on full moons. The sand takes the form of blunt objects or tendrils to bash or choke enemies. During moments of extreme strain, Arashi loses all control over this ability as well.
