Now that the student was in the final stretches of his Academy classes, Kazuto’s training had become far more rigorous. Gone were the days of simple kata’s and form practices. The basic "Run until you can’t run anymore” days. Now, while he still had very much to learn, Kaneda had broken most, if not all, of the bad habits he had ingrained into himself prior to his shinobi training. As such, Kazuto had been giving him more in-depth lessons. Real training for Taijutsu, his primary area of expertise, and he had even been helping Kaneda with his academy jutsu.

Like always, Kazuto had requested for Kaneda to meet him for their training before the sun was up. He made his way to their usual starting place, the gates of the Senju Clan’s compound within the village, and had found Kazuto waiting for him like normal.

"Sensei." Kaneda greeted the Senju, bowing to the man. Before their training would begin, Kaneda would do a few light stretches to help loosen and warm up his muscles.

"So what's the plan for today, Sensei?" Kaneda questioned, wrapping his arm behind his head in a tricep stretch. "More Taijutsu practice? Ninjutsu? I could still use some practice with the Henge technique." The student admitted. "That, and the cloning technique, I think, are where I still need the most help."

[Senju Kazuto]

Kazuto hadn't sleep very well at all. Not out of a sense of restlessness over a mission that had gone poorly, nor the stress of reports. Not even, to his own disappointment, the loving embrace of his wife. Merely it had being that his twins had decided to remain awake and during the war they had mounted robbed him precious sleep. He had dealt with worse before, he had tucked himself against a crumbling trench as the enemy shelled the surrounding area, he could survive his children and allow Miho to get a night of rest. But even when training had made it so that he could survive and still do his duty to the village without much complaint, he still found himself trying to rest his eyes. Leaning against the opened gates of the Senju Clan's compound as he tried to find a moment of relaxation before the sound of his student approaching sparked his eyes to open. As barrage of questions following as the boy awaited for orders the Senju produced a low grown, not of annoyance but merely out of his sense of tiredness. He allowed Kaneda to do his stretches as much as he allowed himself the moment to gather his thoughts. In truth, he didn't quite remember what he had wanted to teach him today, or what they could train about. He had being making good progress in all accounts and he couldn't decide where to put his efforts today. Pushing himself from the gate, Kazuto would finally speak. "How about, dealer's choice?" He asked, allowing the Sarutobi to choose on what to focus today. If anything this would give him a chance to consider his next move carefully rather than just blindly go into what he wanted the most. "Well? We're burning sunshine, Kaneda, best to make good use of time."

A small grin stretched over Kaneda's face as his sensei gave him the option to choose what the days training would look like.

"Well," he started. "I definitely think I could use some work on my Ninjutsu."

The student took a few steps away from his sensei as he continued.

"Right now, the clones I make just don't last like they should. I do the seals and I either just make a puff of smoke, or the clone I create only lasts a minute or two..."

Kaneda took in a small breath before his hands flashed with a few hand seals, leaving a large puff of smoke to exhume around him. As it cleared, Kaneda groaned when there was no evidence of a clone by his side. Again, his hands shifted from seal to seal only for another cloud of smoke to cover the small area to give the same result.

"The chakra balance in making the clone... I don't know if I'm using too much and the clone just poofs, or if it's just not enough and nothing happens aside from a cloud of smoke..."

The Sarutobi straightened himself with a disgruntled expression over his face before he looked to the Senju for guidance.

[Senju Kazuto]

Kazuto didn't need to rub his eyes to notice that the clones lacked substance. Even when they appeared to be tangible there was something about them that made him reconsider such impression. Much like haze being dispersed by the breeze, the Senju saw the flaw on what his student was attempting to do. By what he saw the chakra seemed to be too little for the technique to actually work, or he was merely giving just enough for the clones to work before they would collapse unto themselves. "It is not enough." The Senju would mutter. He would bring his hand into view of the Sarutobi, slowly going through the signs as his chakra would begin the natural process of molding within him. Suddenly two small bursts of white haze emerged around the Senju, slowly the dissipated, revealing the forms of two doppelgangers of the ANBU Captain would appear, and even though they were intangible due the nature of the technique, they would look as if they occupied the physical space until Kazuto would dispel the technique and turn to his student, allowing a few seconds for him to process what he had just seen. "You need to gauge on your own how much chakra the technique would need." He explained. "We are all different, even our chakra reserves, control and how much we need for use techniques differs from person to person, so, in essence you need to guess how much chakra you will require for each technique." He said. He hoped that what he had said would be something that Kaneda would understand. "Try again, use a little bit more of chakra than what you would normally use for this technique and once you reach what you consider to be correct amount, try again.

Kaneda kept his attention on his sensei as the man soon formed a few hand seals, creating two identical clones beside him in a cloud of smoke. It seemed so easy for him, but, despite his own feelings of inadequacy, he knew the truth of the matter was simply that Kazuto had been a shinobi far longer, with much more experience than he might ever get himself. The other side of that truth was the fact that Kazuto was likely once at the very same point Kaneda was now. Everyone had to start somewhere.

He listened intently on the Senju's words of wisdom, nodding his head slightly as he tried to visualize the man's words before putting them into action.

"Right." Kaneda said, before he would settle his stance and try once more.

He closed his eyes, trying to enter something of a meditative state of mind, focusing his eyes within himself as he tried to visualize his chakra. He could feel the energy within him, buzzing beneath his skin. The warm green glow of his chakra began to wash over him like the rays of the summer sun, and he channeled the energy through his body and into his chest. Once he pulled what he felt was enough energy, Kaneda would flash his hand seals to execute the technique.

A puff of smoke burst around him, and just to his right, a single clone identical to him stood. With a satisfactory smile, Kaneda turned his attention to the clone, which in turn looked back to Kaneda himself before it burst into a puff of smoke.

"Dammit!" Kaneda cursed, shaking his head and rolling his eyes to the side in frustration before he would take another breath to calm himself. He sighed, turning his attention back to the Senju. "Still not enough?"

[Senju Kazuto]

"It seems so." Kazuto replied in a matter of fact tone. Neither condemning his student for the progress made nor congratulating him at the same time. It was a start and truthfully for what he had seen about Kaneda, he didn't contemplate the young man to be able to master the skill without any issue. Struggle seemed to be a part of the norm in the training. Clearing his throat, Kazuto would get the attention of his student, scratching his chin as he gathered his thoughts he would speak again. "That being said, this is progress." He told his student. Showing some encouragement rather than allow him to wallow in self defeat. One thing he desired to avoid was for his student not to see this as a setback but merely as a stepping stone. "You're thinking too much about what the technique should do, rather on continuing to do the technique. Your thoughts can influence your technique, even one as basic as this one." The Senju explained, hoping that the intention of his words would be understood. "Do it again. You don't stop until you mastered the technique." He said, leaning against the side of the gate. "Now, deep breath and concentrate. I don't exist. Its just you and the technique." He said, giving him concise instructions this time that he hoped the Sarutobi would follow.

Kaneda took all the words of wisdom he could get from Kazuto as the Senju spoke. At times, the Sarutobi noticed that the man could be a little cryptic, but that was far from the case when it came to practicing Jutsu. When it came to their Taijutsu practice, Kazuto would sometimes speak in metaphors or even riddles, trying to get Kaneda to find out some sort of hidden meaning in the man's words. Or at least, that's what he assumed he was doing.

The Sarutobi nodded his head, centering himself once more to practice the technique.

"Right."

Again, he turned his attention inward, thinking about the technique and how to manifest the jutsu and his chakra to do what he wanted. He tried to clear his mind of all things, entering a tranquil, meditative mindset as he focused on his chakra. Kaneda remembered his training with Kiseki and the leaf, thinking about how best to urge his chakra forward, and how to use that energy most efficiently for the task at hand. His breathing grew longer, in through his nose and out through his mouth, as he his thoughts moved to the technique, visualizing the result to make it reality.

With a flash of his handseals, Kaneda's eyes opened, his chakra flowing into his hands as a cloud of smoke burst around him. As it settled, Kaneda could feel his chakra flowing around him, and as he looked to his right, there was a perfect clone standing right beside him. He waited a moment, almost waiting for the clone to vanish, but it didn't. It lasted. Finally, it seemed that he had made a clone the right way, and it was stable. Kaneda grinned before flashing a final seal, canceling the technique causing the clone to disperse.

"Finally," the Sarutobi said as a grin stretched across his face and he let out a triumphant laugh.

[Senju Kazuto]

The Senju clasped both hands behind his back, watching his student go through all the proper hand seals as he attempted to complete the technique. He didn't saw a flaw on the string of seals and he guessed that the chakra he had used was the proper amount, at the very least this time it was. He only needed to wait and see what he could produce once he had provided the younger man with the necessary guidance. But a part of him was sure that he would be able to successfully complete the technique. Whatever faith he had was rewarded, as soon the Sarutobi had managed to conjure two facsimiles of himself, every inch the doppelganger that seemed to have substance, an illusion only betrayed by the lack of shadow that foretold of their little to no corporeality. He felt himself swell in pride and gave an approving nod on what he had managed to accomplish. "Well done." He replied calm tone, in an attempt to bring down the euphoria that the Sarutobi was experimenting on his small victory. "This is a good result. As ever I would tell you to keep practicing." He suggested to Kaneda.
