Kaneda let out a deep sigh, flopping himself down on the ground in front of the training dummy. He was coming up on the end of his time in the academy, and nearly every waking moment he had outside of his classes, the man spent training. He woke up early most days, before the sun would rise, to train with his sensei, Kazuto, before he had class, while the afternoons he spent trying to reconcile his teachings from the day and get in some additional practice. Most days, this took the form of Taijutsu training, knowing that his other styles lacked the same natural talent he had with the physical art. Admittedly, he had been using taijutsu training to block out the things he didn't feel comfortable with.

The dark haired student breathed heavily, laying spread eagle on the ground for a while longer before pushing himself up and taking a meditative state. He took in a deep breath, grabbing a small leaf from beside him, and tried to practice the exercise Kazuto had taught him some weeks ago to help learn some chakra control. Between his hands, the leaf vibrated as he tried to concentrate his energy, but where Kazuto could easily make the leaf float and spiral between his hands, Kaneda could hardly manage to get the object to move at all. Again and again he tried, but the best he could do was to get the leaf to twitch, as if someone sneezed beneath it.

"God dammit." He cursed beneath his breath. He balled his hand into a fist, crushing the leaf with a rasped huff, throwing it to the side in annoyance at his own lack of skill.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]As Kiseki approached the training ground, she had every intention of practicing her kunai throwing once again - she was determined to master the skill no matter what.

The sun was high, and the air was crisp, ideal for a rigorous training day. However, as she neared her usual spot, her ruby eyes caught sight of Kaneda, the older boy, man really, from the Academy, whose frustrations seemed to mirror the blustery wind.

Kiseki didn’t really know Kaneda. He was in a different class, and his age set him apart from the vast majority, but today, he seemed particularly vexed. His efforts to manipulate a simple leaf into floating were evidently a struggle. She watched silently as he finally crushed the leaf in defeat, his disappointment palpable.

With a soft sigh, Kiseki adjusted the twin red ribbons in her hair and decided to approach him. Though younger and less experienced, she had really good chakra control. Like, really good.

She remembered her father’s words about the importance of precision and patience - qualities she hoped to impart.

"Hey, Kaneda,” she called out gently. "The leaf exercise can be a real pain, huh?”

She shifted on her feet, swinging her arms awkwardly. "Maybe we can try a few exercises together? Sometimes, a fresh pair of eyes can make the difference.”

Kiseki’s offer hung in the air between them, her tone friendly yet respectful, mindful of the frustration that came with learning something challenging. She hoped her approach would be received well. The outcome of this interaction could open new doors for both, a shared journey in mastering the art of chakra control.

She knows that sometimes, less is more when it comes to jutsu. The talent with which she manipulates her energy allows her to stay on even grounds with those who have larger chakra pools, making it so she can continue to fight longer.

Wanting to be as effective and deadly as possible, Kiseki has trained herself to learn as much as she can about human anatomy. Her knowledge allows her to know the best places to strike, giving her an edge by being able to inflict the most damage with the least effort. She tries to utilize this knowledge with her skills so she can end fights quickly and efficiently.

Alternatively, while not on par with those who specialize in medicine, the kunoichi knows how a human body works and can heal as well as harm. Kiseki is capable of roughly setting bones with splints, stitching wounds, and has enough knowledge of the human body to know how to keep someone from dying from several types of wounds, varying from minor to moderate.

The academy student darted his eyes over as he heard a voice, seeing the frame of a small girl who soon made her approach.

Though the two had never formally met, aside from once or twice working in group practice across different classes. Her name was Uchiha Kiseki, from class 3C. She too was in her third year at the academy, and likely gearing up towards graduation just like he was.

Kaneda scoffed at himself and his struggles before a smirk stretched across his face and he stood to face the young girl.

"I'd hug you back, but I'm covered in sweat." He said, trying to lighten his mood.

Kaneda let out a small sigh, placing a hand on his hip as he looked down to the ground and over to the crumpled up leaf he had tossed aside moments earlier.

"Yeah." He said with a short grunted chuckle. His head tilted to the side as he rolled his eyes a bit. "It's giving me a bit more struggle than I'd like to admit." Kaneda soon turned back to Kiseki, offering her a warm smile. "I've got just as much Nara blood in me as Sarutobi, so my genetics say I'm supposed to be good at this, but..." Kaneda paused, smirking lightly. "Well, maybe I would have taken to it easier if I was able to get into the academy at your age." He jested.

"Anyway, I mean, yeah, if you're offering some guiding rails, I'm not foolish enough to turn it down. Kage's know I could use the help." He said with another light hearted chuckle.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Kiseki listened intently as Kaneda responded, his smirk and chuckles breaking through the frustration that had clouded his features moments before. His willingness to engage in a bit of banter seemed to lift the weight from his shoulders, if only momentarily.

She smiled back, appreciating the camaraderie in his jest. "Well, sweat or not, I'm not really one for hugs anyway," she replied with a playful glint in her eyes. "And hey, struggling is just part of the process, right?"

Her gaze softened as Kaneda opened up about his struggles with chakra control. "Don't worry about genetics or what you 'should' be good at," she reassured him. "We all have our own journey to walk."

With a determined nod, Kiseki stepped forward, ready to offer her assistance. "Alright then, let's figure this out together," she said, her tone filled with determination. "We'll take it one step at a time, and before you know it, that leaf will be dancing between your fingers."

She extended her hand towards Kaneda, a silent invitation to join forces in overcoming their challenge.

"Try to keep your breathing steady. It’s like threading a needle; you need calmness and precision." She gestured animatedly, her hands mimicking the motion of waves. "One trick that really helped me is to not just focus on the amount of chakra, but also on how evenly you spread it across the leaf. Imagine your chakra is like a gentle wave washing over the shore. Covering it up, but not drowning it."

The training ground lay before them and together, they would navigate the twists and turns of their training.

Giving the girl a small grin, Kaneda would take her hand, accepting the invitation for her instruction.

Despite her young age, Kiseki seemed much wiser than her years. She tried as best she could to explain the process, while Kaneda did what he could to visualize her explanation. He turned his head back down to the leaf, scooping it in his hands as he sat down in a cross legged position against the ground.

"Like a gentle wave." Kaneda repeated, his eyes focusing on the leaf.

With a deep breath, Kaneda closed his eyes, trying to visualize the chakra traveling just beneath his skin. The warm green glow of his chakra felt like a summer breeze, rustling over his body. He began to feel it, urging it toward his center mass before guiding the energy into his arms and eventually into his hands. As gently and accutely as he could manage, Kaneda pulled the chakra from his hands and encased the leaf. It began to buzz and vibrate between his fingers as he opened his eyes, and a grin came over his face as his eye widened. The leaf began to float, twisting like it was being blown with the wind before his excitement began to get the better of him. Soon, the leaf was pulled taut and the Sarutobi began to lose control. He tried his best to focus, keeping the leaf still as he breathed in and out, but it was already lost, the leaf splitting it two like it was cut by a razors edge.

"Well..." Kaneda said with a slight sigh. "A step in the right direction I guess."

"Definitely a step in the right direction!" she cheered, her voice infused with genuine encouragement. "You managed to get it floating!"

She bent down to pick up a couple of leaves, handing one to Kaneda and keeping one for herself.

"The beauty of training isn't just in getting it right, but in finding the way that works best for you," Kiseki explained, her tone earnest even as she parroted what the teachers at the Academy had taught her.

"Each failure is just another piece of the puzzle."

Kiseki settled herself beside Kaneda, mirroring his cross-legged posture. "Let’s try again," she suggested, her own hands forming a cup to demonstrate.

With a deep breath, she closed her eyes briefly, centering herself and focusing her own energy on her leaf to show him. It floated up and twisted as if being blown about by non-existent wind. As she exhaled, the leaf spiraled down before landing in her cupped palms.

"Whenever you're ready," she said, opening her eyes to watch him intently, ready to offer more tips or simply silently support.

Kaneda watched patiently as Kiseki went through the practice herself. Much like he did, her motions were the same, entering a meditative stance before she willed her chakra into her hands, effortlessly getting the leaf to float between her hands, twisting and turning like it was under the manipulation of a small breeze before it eventually fell into her cupped hands.

The Sarutobi nodded as he watched her, trying to think in his mind about how he could replicate her process on his own.

"Alright," Kaneda muttered to himself. "Just like she did."

Kaneda would take the leaf and sit down, sitting on his heels. He took in a deep breath, focusing once more on the chakra inside him. He tried to feel it, visualize it, urge the energy to bend to his will. The Sarutobi took in another breath, in through his nose, and out through his mouth, matching the lengths of his inhales and exhales, before opening his eyes to send chakra through his fingers. The leaf began to twitch, before it started floating between his hands, twisting and turning with grace. Kaneda smiled triumphantly as he watched the leaf move, before pulling his chakra back, allowing the leaf to fall in his hands.

"Gotcha." He said, his brown creasing as he grinned down at the leaf and turned his attention to Kiseki to see if she had seen his success.

The leaf, now dancing between his fingers, was a testament to what a little perseverance could accomplish. Clapping enthusiastically, the young girl couldn't contain her joy.

"That was amazing, Kaneda!" she exclaimed, her voice bright and encouraging. "See, you did it! You just needed to get the feel for it."

She leaned closer, her gaze intent. "It's all about the balance, see? Not too much, not too little. Just enough chakra to guide, but not overwhelm."

Kiseki's demeanor shifted slightly, a thoughtful expression crossing her face as she pondered their next move, finger tapping against her chin.

"Now that you’ve got the hang of it, maybe we could try something a little more challenging?" she suggested, her tone playful yet challenging. "How about we try moving the leaf in specific patterns? Or maybe even add more leaves into the mix?"

Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she hoped it would motivate Kaneda to push his boundaries further. After all, training was more fun and effective when shared, and today had proven that teamwork could lead to breakthroughs.

Kiseki picked up a few more leaves, offering them to Kaneda. "What do you say? Ready to take it up a notch?" Her smile was wide, inviting him to join her in this new challenge, eager to see just how far they could push their skills together.
