[Sarutobi Kaneda]

I WILL PROTECT THOSE

As the sun was beginning to set, the sky above shone with hues of oranges, pinks, and purples, without a single cloud in the sky to block the view of the horizon. In one of the shinobi training centers within Konohagakure, Kaneda practiced diligently, working on the Taijutsu Kata that Kazuto had instilled in him. He moved carefully through the motions, striking the target dummy over and over as sweat dripped from his brow. His hands and feet were already covered with bruises, open, bloody wounds, lashed acrossed his knuckles.

As the kata came to an end, Kaneda took a breath, wipping his forehead with the bottom of his shirt. He looked at the back of his hands as they shook from the trauma, letting out a small, satisfied huff before dropping his hands to his sides. The Sarutobi walked over to the small bench where he placed his backpack, pulling out his large blue waterbottle and took a sip of the ice cold water within. He let out a breath, feeling refreshed as the cool liquid trickled down his throat.

Before he resumed, Kaneda spotted a small figure approaching the training yard, and turned to see if he recognized them. It was a smaller woman, a few years younger than him at least, with ashen colored hair. As she drew closer, Kaneda did eventually recognize the woman as Hatake Shinde. While they had never formally met, he did know of her as the heiress to her namesake, the Hatake clan.

"Shinde, right?" Kaneda asked as the woman entered the training grounds. "Sarutobi Kaneda. Pleasure." He said, extending his hand to greet her.
