Toru hunkered down in his stance, his feet planted wide against the ground for stability as his opponent came rushing in, the bokken swinging towards his midsection. The younger of the two swung back meeting the opposing bokken with a 'thwack' in a vertical parry to the horizontal swing. He hoped that the defense would be enough to cause Takeshi to reverb from the impact, thus allowing Toru to have the slightest opening to retaliate.

Using the proximity between the two of them and his vertical defense against the strike he would begin to swing the sword up and overhead and thus down hoping to hit Takeshi directly in the shoulder, it would likely hurt if it made contact as the movement came from a place of coiling thus the entire action was kind of an unwinding of Toru's muscles making the momentum just a touch faster than one would expect from a normal swing.

It was all from this stationary position and Toru knew that his swing after his block would put him in a vulnerable position, but he hoped that either his swing would make impact or the halt in momentum and proximity between him and Takeshi would insure that whatever Takeshi had in mind would be slowed to a crawl making any offense not as powerful.
