[Minami Sora]

Sora didn’t so much as feel her Genjutsu break as she tasted it; the sensation was always an odd one, akin to swallowing a gulp of water only to have it come back up a few moments later, tinged with stomach acid, the feel of what ought to have been comforting suddenly turning vile before settling back down something she had never (and likely would never) get used to. But felt it the Jounin did, and that could mean only one thing- the girl had done it. She had broken free.

"Good job!" The pink haired woman said, patting the brunette on the back as she celebrated her success. She had been slow to start off, but the girl had managed to pick up the technique in the end, mustering the needed concentration and stillness of mind to overwhelm the intrusion she had planted in the young brunette’s network and expel it. She still had to practice the technique of course, still had to find a way to instantly bring her mind into that state of perfect concentration and focus, but for the time being… well. She knew the jutsu. All that was left was practice.

"Just keep practicing and you’ll get the hang of it in no time."

Even so, she can't help that flicker of warmth tingling in her chest, the encouraging words rolled over and over in her head. At some point, it even leaks as the shy sliver of a smile, her eyes sticking to her fingers that drum against her fishing rod.

"I'll do my best."

Not just for the sake of kicking Shinmen Takeshi's ass in their next spar, but also because of just how much effort this jounin lady put into teaching her. Oh, how easily swayed she is. This girl that has no goals or ambitions of her own suddenly finding a source of motivation. She can almost see Isonami rolling his eyes at the way she's acting.

After all, whatever she's feeling now is bound to be pretty short-lived once they part ways.

"Would it -" She chokes a little, the words uncomfortably hooked in her throat. "Would it be okay if I asked you to help me practice in the future?"

Somewhere mixed in there is a hint of surprise to her own voice, almost as if she'd never imagined herself asking such a thing.

Sora’s smile didn’t waver when the girl asked her question, but there was a moment, just a moment, where her sky-blue gaze flickered not with annoyance but concern. The way the brunette spoke, her enthusiasm at having someone to help her, the eagerness she exuded fading into a timid hesitancy that lingered like a cloud over the bright and sunny day… It was like a knife, aimed straight at her heart, and she fell for it.

"Of course." She said, her features softening slightly as she gave the younger Kunoichi’s shoulder a gentle, almost maternal squeeze, her body shifting slightly as, without thought, she included her in the list of students she had taken under her wing. Children, all of them, some with lying parents and some not, but all of them in need of a role model, someone to look up to in their Shinobi career and try to emulate, in whatever ways they could.

"I am going to need to get your name though." The pink-haired woman said, gesturing for the girl to follow her as she turned, moving towards the exit of the training grounds, her stomach rumbling. "I’m Sora. Sora Minami."

Funny little troublemaker of the academy. Always skipping classes to fish in the most unlikely of locations. Not even paying proper attention when she was dragged back to attend. And yet, she'd done well enough to graduate quickly. The fishing rod she so holds now almost has a striking resemblance to the one she used to wield as a kid.

Now that she's completed her training, she's more than free to go and fish. With a swish and a flick of her fishing pole, the line is cast and hooks around the handle of a bucket quietly forgotten on the wayside.

"Thanks a lot for today!" A gentle upwards flick of her wrist and she pulls the bucket right into an open and waiting hand. Then she turns, only pausing her steps to offer the woman a cheeky, closed-eyed grin and a wave.

"Be seeing you around then, Sora-sensei!"
