Forward. Faster. Keiko pushed herself onwards towards the Yoshiko girl. Running over the water, directing the lizard beside/in front of her, she kept her eyes on the Nohime Princess. She was the target. The one she was after. The one she had to overcome. She was sent here to accomplish a task and Yoshiko’s presence stood in her way. Had Yoshi let her have the river as she had initially claimed, then there would be none of this. And the Nohime could have gone on her way. But Keiko wasn’t about to let the Yutakako down.
The words that met her ears from the recovered girl surprised her. Breaking through the determined look of taking down her target, for a small bit of time it may be observed that she didn’t quite understand where the cry about her father came from. But as the words settled in, Keiko smiled. A sort of understanding smile. No real cruelty within it for her opponent. She was doing this for her father. Nohime for Nohime. Keiko knew that sentiment well. She was here for her family. For her clan. Everything she did was for them in this war.
"All for the Yutakako!” Keiko would answer with her own warcry. This wasn’t personal against the Nohime. They each had their drives behind why they were here. A newfound respect for her opponent was found, but that wouldn’t stop her from giving everything she had. Yoshiko recovered from the blast throwing her, taking little time in shifting her direction and forcing herself into a charge at Keiko. The girl had been near the shore after the explosion, Keiko having only been fifteen or so meters from the shore in the first place. It made no real difference whether they were on land or water, not immediately in Keiko’s mind. Though... if she had thought about it more there should have been glaring advantages and disadvantages.
The girl's use of the light weight rock technique shot her towards Keiko, closing the distance and providing both girls with the close proximity they wished. Keiko did have the advantage of throwing her lizard ahead at a speed greater than her own, the lizard lunging for Yoshi much the same time as she threw shuriken. The close distance of the throw gave her the advantage of possibly having the lizard succeed in grabbing Yoshiko. Though... the unknown speed of that increased rock tech could prove an issue.
On her own end, she didn’t seem much concerned about the shuriken. At first. Her instant thought was to just let the first two pass her by seeing as they were poorly aimed. Then skirt the third one by getting to the side. It wasn’t until the last moments did she see the sparkle of wire trailing along these shuriken. Eyes widening slightly, she went with her original plan anyway. While it didn’t immediately occur to her that the wire might bind her arms, them being elevated to guide her lizard forward and up at Yoshiko, made keeping them out of the way of the incoming shuriken all the more helpful.
Skirting to the side to try and miss the center shuriken from hitting her, she would be unable to move fast enough. The shuriken would meet with her right side of her abdomen. But... it didn’t sink in? Perplexed, the still rushing genin glanced down in a fleeting moment of confusion. The shuriken had just barely pierced her clothing. The wire of the other two spun around her, effectively tying three shuriken around the abdomen of the Yutakako. But there were no injuries that worried her. The light weight rock technique effectively lessened the ability of Yoshi to provide force. With its heightened state, the force was that more negligible. So while the shuriken flew at Keiko like speeding bullets, they had the effectiveness of a feather. Leaving Keiko with little to no injury.
Confused as to why this was, but not caring to figure it out, Keiko moved onward and pushed herself harder to get closer to Yoshiko and catch up to her flaming lizard who had begun its attack. There meeting if they continued onward would still be on the river, though shallow it was, seven or so meters from the bank and stone Keiko remembered oh too well. Her one hand was still directing the lizard for the lunge to Yoshiko. With the other hand she would begin to untangle the mess from her own self.
