[Himishi Jou]

Jou appeared to be really getting invested in the wonderful drawings in Jun's notebook, his mouth making a bit of an 'o' shape as he silently looked. She has twelve years of experience with this under her belt, and Jou could tell that she wasn't lying. Part of him was even more interested in meeting her parents if they were artists as well. JOu loves his parents very much, but none of them had any interesting hobbies that he knows of.

The kunoichi was about to turn to another page and Jou was ready for it....until she slammed the book shut, causing the white-haired teen to jump a little, and move back. "U-uh..." Jou blinked a few times before looking up at Jun, clearly at a loss at what happened. For a second, Jou thought he did something wrong and was ready to apologize, but then Jun spoke up, talking about how this drawing wasn't finished yet. "O-oh...okay." His eyes shifted back to the closed book, silently wondering what that drawing could be. She must be a really dedicated artist if she did not want to show unfinished work Jou would think.

He then called Jun a natural at this...which apparently was a mistake....

Jun's tone had changed, her words catching the boy off guard more than the stuff about the book. All he could do was sit there and look at Jun as she continued to speak. "I-I didn't mea-" Jou's tone retreated back into that soft-spoken nature, his head lowering in the process. Looks like the poor teen managed to screw up...again. He didn't want to insult Jun...that was not his intention, and now he was feeling as down about as she was. He thought that being called a natural was a compliment...a really good one. Not only he, but Jou's parents would often call his sister a natural when it comes to being a shinobi, and it always felt true. Jou wanted to be a natural like her...Had they....has he been insulting her all this time?

Jou didn't even realize the train stopping at first until Jun called to him, her tone still different. Jou couldn't utter a word and simply nodded, before getting up to follow, but tried walking on the other side of the chaperone with his head down instead of next to Jun...not wanting to risk offending her any further.

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the two stepped off the train and made their way into the station the Chaperone guided Jun and Jou through the large crowd of people who are either waiting for the next train or trying to get into the village itself. Yukigakure was rather on the smaller side but still looked rather impressive, large walls of stone in conjunction with the massive wall that stood behind it. As they were now out in the open the chaperone would note the silence. "They’ve gone quiet this isn’t good they seemed to be getting along so well.” he’d think. "Now that we’ve arrived in the city, Jou I will be leaving you in Miss Muramtsa’s capable hands. I trust you can handle it?” the diplomacy member would say looking down at Jun. "But of course…come along Jou-san.” she’d smile up at the diplomacy agent and would head off with Jou, still seeming a tad bitter.

The two would walk in silence for some time but then after a moment she’d look over towards him noting how he sulked somewhat she felt a little bad about her earlier actions. It wasn't his fault he didn’t know how that would effect her, clearly he wasn’t trying to insult her either and after a few more silent steps would clarify herself. "About earlier, I’ve never taken kindly to being called talented.” the girl would start sulking a bit herself but would perk up. "But thank you, I appreciate your kind words about my art.” as the two kept walking the snow would begin to fall gently within the village.

"So shall we head home?” she looked to his now known bag of treats. "My mother likely won’t be home for some time, she’s a school teacher and my father works as an artist in his study in our home. So we'll likely be alone.” the girl would make that statement rather flatly not really realizing how such an intimate situation could easily fluster someone. "It'd be a great opportunity to learn a little bit more about each other, I can't wait to see your skills!”

[Himishi Jou]

Jou followed the chaperone's guidance, navigating around the various people as he got off the train. His head and eyes were still lowered a bit though. He couldn't believe he screwed things up already. The teen went into this thinking he would mess up or make a terrible first impression. When it looked like he was actually getting along with Jun, a part of Jou was starting to feel a lot more confident about this...but then he had to open his mouth and say something stupid.

After getting off, it was time for the duo to part ways with the chaperone. Jou did not freak out or have much of a reaction to this anyway. He didn't want to risk making things worse, though, at this point, the boy may have been overreacting a little. Jou just nodded silently and walked behind Jun, his hands clenched onto the straps of his backpack.

The teen didn't notice Jun looking back at him since he was intentionally keeping himself from making eye contact, focusing on her feet to make sure that he doesn't lose her. It was quiet, painfully silent except for the folks who were out and about talking among themselves. He then heard the girl speak up, causing Jou to immediately look up at her. She elaborated on things, but Jou still felt a little uneasy. "Oh....I-I understand. I'm...I'm sorry." he still apologized. He could kind of see what Jun meant.

She then brought up heading to her home which Jou didn't mind at first...until she continued speaking. "W-wait...Th-they're no-" Did he hear her right? Jun's parents were not home...yet she still wanted to head there...with just him!? Jou was probably...no, he WAS reading into this a little too much, especially with how it was worded. "S-See my...s-s-s-skills!?" Jou's face was red. his hands resting against the sides of his face. This isn't what he was he for! How could she be so....bold!? "Y-ea...I-I mean sure....o-okay...your...home....yes." Jou was looking away once again, this time with his cheeks burning red.

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the girl chirped of her excitement she’d look to Jou who seemed to be a nervous wreck again his face seemed to be rather beet red which caused the girl to look a bit puzzled. "A-are you alright Jou-san?” the girl would look to him and place her hand to his forehead. "You don’t seem to have a fever…we ought to get you out of this cold.” from there the girl would perform a quick handseal and dispense some heat towards Jou’s body to try and warm him up hoping that the cold wasn’t getting to him. "Feeling better?” she’d say hoping the heat would calm him down. "Now then come along…” she’d wait for a moment for his response and then afterwards would lead him away from the gates and towards the back of the village.

As they got closer several small makeshift homes could be seen many made of wood and adorned with a special sigil that resembles a strange piece of art. A tilde with a two small dots across from it. "Welcome home, Jou this is the Muramatsa encampment.” as they moved along several small tipi’s and tents could be seen made up of various animal hides. Along with various children all adorned in winter gear running about. Jun would look to them all and smile. "What do you think…?” as Jou walked about many of the other Muramatsa paid no mind, and those who did looked to him with a degree of skepticism. As they closed in on Jun’s home Jou might notice a practice range that looked singed with markings within them some having a fresh sizzle of steam coming off of them. waving to Jun from what looked to be a practice range.

As they kept walking they’d arrive at a cabin that was nestled in the back of the encampment made entirely of sturdy wood. "Here we are!” the girl would say. Jun would make her way up the porch steps and make their way inside it looked rather cozy in it’s interior. There was a large fireplace in the corner and a few windows that showed a small amount of forestry. There was a large carpet on the ground a small couch and a few chairs. Directly off to the left Jou might see a kitchen with another set of tables and a coffee machine that seemed to have a fresh pot still cooking, along with a set of stairs that led up to the family rooms. "Father must’ve been down here recently, would you like some coffee to warm you up?” she’d say turning to him.

"I'm f-f-f-f-fin-" Jou didn't get a chance to finish speaking after feeling Jun's hand on his forehead. This made him glow a little redder as he looked up at her hand. Jou did not have a fever and he certainly wasn't cold...but his stuttering could certainly make people believe otherwise. He then watched as Jun did a quick hand seal and suddenly, the white-haired Himishi was getting warmer. Some sort of Katon jutsu? Well, looks like he learned something else about her. Fortunately enough, this was enough to get Jou's mind out of the gutters...for the most part. "Y-yes." Instead of trying to explain himself...which would've been a disaster, Jou just went along with it and started following Jun once more.

Heading towards the back of the village, Jou was starting to take in his surroundings. He noticed the homes made of wood and the strange symbols on them, making him blink a few times out of curiosity. This was something the lad was going to make a mental note of. So this was the encampment of Jun's clan? "It looks way different from the Himishi compound." Jou replied, not meaning it as a bad thing. It felt a little smaller....but homey as well. "Ohhh, a-are those animal hides?" he asked with curiosity in his tone as he looked at the tipis. A small smile grew on his face as he saw some of the children running about, making the place feel a little more free compared to Himishi. He then of course saw the skeptic looks coming his way, causing the teen to quickly shy away and look back at Jun.

Soon, the two would make it to a nice-looking cabin, and judging from Jun's announcement, this was her home. Jou would stop and look up with an expression of awe. He had never seen a cabin up close before or been in one....He did need to get out more.

Finally, Jou would walk in with Jun, and started to take in the feel of the interior. There was certainly a smell of freshly brewed coffee in the air. "S-sure, if it's okay." Jou answered with a nod. He then started to look around again, making sure to not touch anything as he did. "Oh, hey, Jun?" he looked back at her. "What were those symbols...on the houses?"

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the two made their way towards the compound Jou had stated that it looks different from his home. "Does it? I take it your compound looks more traditional, we Muramatsa tend to travel in groups my mother and father where apart of a tribe in Hoshigakure but after a scuffle with Hoshigakure we were forced to leave and ended up here." she’d add but she didn’t seem to broken up about it happened when she was rather small and she didn’t have too many memories of it she mostly remembered traveling the roads with her family and wasn’t even informed of the disaster itself until she was roughly 12 years old. When they passed by some of the other structures Jou would note the animal hide. "They most certainly are, our tribe tends to hunt out in the wilds and whatever they capture they tend to bring back and use as materials and food we are a very self sufficient people.”

After a short while they’d make it into her home and Jun would head over into her kitchen which had a small window giving a nice bright view of the outside. There were small cabinets above a stove and a coffee pot in the corner. She’d gesture for him to come inside and would pour him a cup of coffee after reheating the pot, and as the machine hummed and the girl removed a cup from a small cabinet, Jou would ask a question, curious about the symbol that was sprawled over the many homes in the Muramatsa compound.

"Ah those symbols? It’s the mark of our clan, it's how other Muramatsa tribes identify each other and often times can be found scrawled into a tree so that other Muramatsa know that others are near. We are a very community driven clan.” as she finished pouring a cup for herself she'd offer it to Jou and take a sip before looking to Jou with a bright look in her eye. "After this did you want to rest for a while? Are you hungry?” she’d say wanting to be hospitable even though deep down she did still have a desire to train but it could wait, for now she wanted to make Sure Jou felt at home.

[Himishi Jou]

"Oh?" So Jun wasn't even a native to Yukikagure like he thought? Not just her, but it seems like that was the case for this clan? This wouldn't be the first time Jou has heard about a clan not native to the village they were currently living in. It was that case for a lot of clans out there, but Himishi wasn't one of them. Jou's clan had always been a part of Iwagakure, and was one of the more influential clans there. This certainly adds to Jou's sense of responsibility...and pressure.

Jun didn't seem bothered about being forced to leave her original home, so Jou decided not to pry into it. Seems a little odd...but he just assumes she has gotten over it. The fact that Jun's people appear to be so self-sufficient further added to his growing liking of them. He only ever gets the ingredients he needs for food from a market. Jou was certainly no hunter, but he has potential.

Now at Jun's home, Jou stepped into the kitchen and continued to look around in silent curiosity as he heard the sound of hot coffee being poured into a cup. He'd then ask his question and listened to Jun's response. "That sounds really helpful...and cool." Jou responded...muttering the last part. His clan's symbol wasn't exactly used for the same thing. "Your clan is so resourceful, Jun." Jou commented as he was given a cup. He then blew the coffee a bit before taking a sip, just as Jun asked her questions. She was certainly good at making others feel at home. Jou did not feel as nervous about this as he originally thought.

"Umm..." Jou did not exactly feel tired yet, and he was a little hungry, but kind of wanted to wait until Jun's parents returned. He then remembered something she had brought up on the train. "Would you still like to...train?" Jou offered, still curious about Jun's doujutsu. "U-unless you would like t-to rest.....Sorry..." Again he found himself being a timid mess, glancing away as he took another sip.

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the boy complimented the girl on her clans resourcefulness the girl would smile. "Well we try to be, if it wasn't for that symbol my families envoy might not've found this place.” she’d remark somewhat modestly. She was proud of her clan but since to her it was more of a way of life rather than a shinobi lifestyle it felt different to her than to some others.

Afterwards he’d ask to train. "I’d love too!” the girl would state eager to begin she thought he’d never ask. "Finish your coffee and I’ll show too our training fields.” after a moment the girl would exit the room and head upstairs and would head into her room and grab hold of her wooden staff it was red in color and had a lacquered finish along it that gave it a polished look. Afterwards she’d come downstairs with a leather strap on her back and would finish her coffee. "Ready to go? Come along! Meet me outside.” After Jou finished his coffee the girl would wait for him outside behind her home where he’d find a large piece of wood with a symbol burned into it, another clue Jou may have notice from before.

As she stood outside waiting for him she’d remove her journal from the pouch behind her back and would begin to read it over. Looking over some of the notes she’d jotted down about a few of the new techniques she had recently acquired. Jun isn’t normally one for sparring but when faced against a new and interesting opponent like Jou she couldn’t help but feel a semblance of excitement just what could she learn form someone like him?

Jou could tell from Jun's tone that she holds her clan in such high regard, at least assumingly. Jou could not wait to learn even more about her people's traditions, but right now it was time for a little training. But who knows, Jou might learn more through the training anyway.

Seems like Jou was right to ask this, judging by Jun's response and reaction. He couldn't help but chuckle softly at her, seeing that it was very clear that Jun enjoys training. Jou was the same way even though he didn't show it as the kunoichi did. There was still an obvious glow in his eyes though, showing that Jou was looking forward to this just as much. "S-Sure thing." Jou nodded as he watched Jun leave out of the room. Jou took this moment to quickly drink the coffee down, fortunately not being as hot anymore...though he did leave a small stain on his shirt which he hadn't taken notice of yet.

Once Jun returned, Jou's eyes were on the red staff she brought. Woahhhh, n-nice staff." Jou commented. It wasn't his ideal choice in weapon, but he could admire the craftsmanship. Speaking of, Jou's was a combat knife...but he was not going to use that for the training.

As Jun left, Jou was about to follow her until he noticed the stain on his coat. "Oh..." With a bit of a frown, Jou removed the brown coat, revealing the black long-sleeved shirt he wore underneath, which didn't do a great job hiding the muscles he has due to its tightness..... He then folded the coat neatly and left it next to the front door so it wouldn't be in the way before running out to catch up with Jun.

Jou made his way to the back of the house, taking it all in as he has been pretty much doing since he got here before his eyes set on the symbol burnt into a large piece of wood.

"Thank you...I crafted and lacquered it myself" Just before she left however she'd, take note of his muscles glancing at him for a long moment with a heavy stare. "He has rather large muscles so that makes me wonder is he some sort of a taijutsu practitioner?” after a moment however she’d exit as normal and would remove her notebook jotting down a few notes about it and shortly after he would follow. But when she noticed him she saw that he wasn't wearing his jacket before shutting her book would ask a rather obvious question.

"Jou-san Aren’t you cold…?” she’d wonder. It was still daylight and sure the sun was outside but Yukigakure wasn’t known for it’s sandy beaches and tropical climate but perhaps this was part of his plan? Maybe her coffee was just that good today?

Either way she’d place her book away into it’s case on the back of her belt. "So then shall we begin?” with those words she’d remove her staff from its strap and give it a twirl shortly after the weapon would be lit, blazing a fire coursing from it. She’d scan him with her eyes eager to see what his first move would be. There was a hint of excitement in her smile. She was enjoying this and hoped he wouldn’t disappoint.

[Himishi Jou]

The Himishi clan are not just known for their eyes, but for their extreme intelligence as well. Jou however....did not have such intelligence. He is by no means an idiot, but he was certainly not on the same level as most of his fellow clan members....which tends to lead to situations like this. "C-Cold?" Jou tilted his head slightly before looking down at his shirt. "N-No, this is fine. Helps me umm....tr-train." Jou claimed before rubbing the back of his head with a bit of a nervous grin on his face....while he slowly started to shiver. He didn't want to tell Jun about the stain...nor did he not want her to realize that he didn't think this through.

The cold was starting to get to him a bit, but hopefully, this training will be enough to keep him warm. With that, Jou got into a little battle stance, one of his hands open while the other closed, a force of habit since he is usually carrying a knife in that hand. "Y-yeah...Let's go."

Despite his fit body, Jou was no taijutsu user and mostly focuses on Ninjutsu, but it did not mean he didn't know a few hand-to-hand tricks.

Jou rushed at Jun at speeds above that of a normal genin! There was a different look in the boy's eyes now, one of fiery determination and focus. Once close enough he'd attempt to lower himself and go in for a swift leg sweep. He didn't plan on using his eyes just yet.

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the spar began Jun would keep her weapon at the ready hearing out Jou’s statements about how he wasn’t cold and how it helped him train a rather odd method but perhaps there was something she didn’t know about him. As the battle began Jou would rush towards her at a fast speed he was easily one of the fastest genin he’d faced she attempted to react but was caught off guard being clipped by his sweep however as she fell she’d roll through on her back.

She was by no means a Taijutsu specialist herself but had enough wherewithal to be able to know how to recover from a bad spill. As she stood up the girl would create some distance as Jou recovered and would twirl her staff unleashing two power waves of fire in his direction melting the snow on the ground and making certain to keep it away from hitting her house.

Jun had been working on her accuracy and as such her strikes were far more polished owing to her skill, still not perfect but fairly on point. "Jou-san is quite fast and that sweep caught me off guard, thought it didn’t hurt as much as I was anticipating…he has speed but he lacks power…” the girl would surmise to herself.

[Himishi Jou]

If there's one thing Jou could count on, it's his speed. He had been training it since he was a bit younger in order to help him keep up a little more with his doujutsu. Jou managed to get Jun off of her feet, though it wasn't much since she was able to recover and gain distance. Jou's eyes widened a bit as he saw two waves of flames fly from Jun's staff. Fortunately, he had enough time to react and flipped out of the way of one of them before doing a perfectly timed backflip out of the way of the other...or well close enough.

Part of the flames still managed to brush past his arm, enough to burn it a little. Jou winced and lost his balance during the flip, falling on his back a bit, but didn't stay there for long, making a swift recovery. Jou looked at the little burn mark on his shirt but he did not seem upset or angry about it. "Did you just use katon from your staff?" Jou asked with a little smile. "You must be really adept with both." he grinned a little but went back to being serious.

Jou quickly took two shuriken out of his pouch and threw them at Jun before doing two hand seals. "Katon: Faia Tama no Jutsu!" with that, the shuriken caught on fire in mid-flight! While this happened, Jou took a kunai out of his other pouch and held onto it and started running to his right, drawing a bit closer to Jun as he did so.

As he landed on the ground the girl would note his motions as he stood up. He’d ask her about if she had just fired off Katon from her staff. "I most certainly did.” he’d remark that she must be adept with both. "To a degree, excellent dexterity on your flips, most impressive.” however shortly after the battle would resume.

During the moment of neutrality Jun would prepare a weapon of her own. As he moved Jun would step off her foot as Jou fired his shuriken and aimed a weapon of her own in an attempt to ensnare him however her jacket and would suffer a few bad cuts tearing it open, With another one cutting into her gi beneath her clothes making her wince as well. However if her kunai landed it would wrap around the boy’s body keeping his arms and ensnared against his torso.

If successful she’d then reveal her dojutsu her eyes would go from their usual amber color to white and the pupil would narrow and then split apart looking exactly like the symbol seen on the flags that Jou would’ve seen on their way here.

After a moment she’d fire off a seal that would be aimed towards his shin should it land, it would sear into his clothing burning the seal onto the cloth causing him to feel a great mass of weight bearing on his leg potentially preventing him from moving. She’d then attempt to hold the wire in an effort to keep him at bay, the burn beneath her skin nagging her body as it cooled from the cold.

[Himishi Jou]

Jou would give a brief yet cheerful grin at Jun's compliment before continuing. He wanted to genuinely thank her for it, but Jou was starting to get into the groove of this little spar, making him not want to lose his focus.

Jou threw his shuriken as intended and did his hand seals, but would notice the incoming projectile, and quickly performed more hand seals! Flames engulfed Jou's body like a vortex before making him seemingly vanish away from the chains before they could hit him. He used this not only to avoid the attack but reappear to Jun's left! Jou would then activate his doujutsu, his eyes going from red to purple, the outer parts forming three black rings and two arrows that vaguely resemble clock hands rotating around the dark pupils that lie within the center!

The boy's reaction time was decent before, but now, he was able to see things from a minute detail, the power of the Present....

Jou then attempted to grab a hold of Jun's arm and tried wrapping one of his legs around one of her own in an attempt to throw her down onto the ground....but Jou wasn't exactly the best in hand-to-hand. If he is able to pull this off, Jou would find himself slipping up as well from not properly removing his leg from around the kunoichi's own, potentially leaving him open for punishment....
