"O-Okay..." Even though Jun said she would be okay, Jou still showed a hint of concern...but he wouldn't be doing the girl any favor if he continues to pester her like this. He'd have to find a way to make it up to her...but how?
She then brought up Jou's shirt, which he nearly forgot about after getting worked up about her and looked down at it.
"Oh, I have more of these...back...at my...home."....And not with him. It took Jou getting his shirt ruined to figure this out just now. How could have been so careless as to forget to bring extra shirts!?
"Th-that would be um...helpful." Jou would say with a hint of embarrassment.
"I...appreciate it, Jun." he'd say while rubbing the back of his head, followed by a nervous chuckle.
Jun then brought up there being food in the fridge before leaving. Almost on cue, Jou's stomach growled, causing him to place a hand on his stomach.
"Food, huh?" he'd mutter to himself before looking curiously over at the kitchen, and then stepped in.
His eyes started to wander, taking a better look around the kitchen since he wasn't able to do so before. First thing to catch the boy's eyes was the variety of spices found on a spice rack, which alone caused his mouth to open in a little 'o' shape before glancing over at the bread in that basket.
"These are...high quality." Jou muttered to himself, referring to the spices as he picked a few up to inspect.
"Hmmm..." At that moment, Jou's hunger was pushed to the side as his cooking brain slowly went to work. He then went over to the fridge, a bit of a hop in his step before opening both the fridge and freezer doors at the same time. He could not believe all of the meat he was seeing from cooked to uncooked.
"Th-there's so much potential..." Jou said, a bit of a sparkle in the boy's eyes. Jun certainly wasn't kidding about the food. His eyes then shifted towards some cooked deer meat. He then just had an idea...He knew what he was going to do to make it up to Jun for burning her!
With a determined nod, Jou went to thoroughly wash his hands in the sink, before heading straight back to that deer meat, taking it out, and placing it onto the counter!
"Pots, pots...where are the...." Jou was now looking through cabinets until he found one that held some pots.
"Ah-ha!" Jou took out a pot one would use to make a stew and placed it on a stove.
"Okay now where are the...." He was now rummaging for...
"Vegetables!" he exclaimed as he managed to find some, specifically carrots, potatoes and peas in a pod. He then took them out, placing them on the counter as well before getting the stew ready.
The stove was lit with the deer meat cooking in the stew, and Jou found himself chopping up the vegetables he had with a knife, and if one were to look at his eyes, they would notice that Jou had his doujutsu activated, using it to be a lot more precise with the cooking. They would also notice the focused and determined look on his face as he did this, a bit of a challenging smile formed on that once timid face. Once they were properly cut up, Jou carefully slid them into the pot, and started to stir it once more as the steam filled the air with delicious smells. With his free hand, Jou picked started rummaging through the spices again to find the right ones he wanted to use.
"Let's see....Garlic...Onion...pepper....Hmmmm...." He certainly wasted no time making himself at home in the kitchen.
