With everyone set and ready to go, Taki and the other shinobi would begin their journey to make their way out of the valley in Tsuchi no Kuni and back up the peak to the village. It was going to be a bit sad to leave the nice inn that they were in but such is life as she had the chance to enjoy those luxuries while she had them.

As they made their trek Taki would call forth her summon in order to gather some sage energy on her behalf as the duo made their way through the village, nodding to him as if to say "You know what to do." like always. "Aw’right shouldn’t be nuttin but a cakewalk to try and get our way back to da village.” thought in saying that the girl needed to watch her tongue the two of them were attacked for seemingly no reason on their way back so kami only knows what could befall them come this time around.

She’d look back towards her partner. "Hey Souma keep dhose eyes peeled, ya neva know what might be waitin just around da corna.” she’d state with a bit of a whisper keeping herself focused on the two shinobi before them. She wanted to ask how Nanabi was doing but would rather not baby the youngest member of the team especially when Taki herself was younger, and so she opted to remain silent.

DESCRIPTION:
One of the most common and beneficial techniques in the known shinobi world. Simply drawing blood and releasing a mass of chakra from one's extended hand is capable of calling an animal or otherwise to one's location. As a Space-Time Ninjutsu, this technique is capable of instantly displacing an intended summon from wherever they may be to the requested location, though there are obstacles that can prevent this. To use this jutsu, one must first make a contract with whatever they are summoning, living creature or not. Both the size and the stamina of what a shinobi calls upon increases the demand of chakra they must spend to perform the jutsu.

Souma squinted at the little ape as it showed up, not in distaste, but more in an intense brand of curiosity, very much curious as to how exactly it did what it did, wondering what she could learn from it, about it- though her curiosity was curtailed by common decency. She wasn't fantasizing about experimenting on or tormenting it, simply wondering if they could work together to deepen their understanding of... of...

... wait, were those things able to think and talk? She realized she'd never specifically asked. "Can he understand you, Taki? If- that is a he. I do not know much about the possible sexual dimorphism of your friend's species. I apologize if I guessed wrong." She even bowed her head delicately in apology.

She nodded firmly to Taki as she was directed to keep her eyes up and open. "I will do so. I will call out anything untoward that I see." She kept pace with the others, keeping a special eye on Nanabi, attempting to pick up on any signs of lingering damage that would be aggravated by travel if untreated as well as simply doing her best to stay aware of their surroundings. They'd been ambushed once- another sincerely was not out of the question.

The group slowly made their way through the valley. The pace was rather slow considering the injuries Team 11 had suffered previously, and although Souma had tended to them, there was only so much she could do without a proper medical facility. Still, they were all capable of moving on their own and that alone was as good as it could get.

The weather, however, seemed to be growing worse with heavy clouds covering the skies quickly. The dark colour on them was a sign of a storm to come, which would make their trip more challenging, especially for the members of Team 11. Shinzo sighed when he noticed the change in the weather, it was like misfortune was following them like a nasty stalker, but he was hopeful in the company of the two Chuunin there, after all, a little storm was the worse that could happen, right?

As the team made their way into the forest Taki would keep an even pace but after a short while she’d look up and notice that a storm cloud seemed to be brewing within the skies. "Shit….” the girl would say annoyed at the awful timing of the weather and concerned about how bad the weather would become for their injured teammates.

For now however it was just clouds so hopefully it’d be nothing to worry about clouds come but rain doesn’t always fall after all? However that was just wishful thinking if the storm got any worse getting the team back would become an even harder task to potentially surmount, but they had to do their best no matter what. "Hang tight you guys!” The blonde would shout back to the others only to look back up at the storm clouds once again with a bitter expression.

"Looks like rain…” crummy weather didn’t do a lot to lift her spirits but her own well being wasn’t her concern at the moment and she needed to make certain that the others were doing well also and would periodically glance back to check on them all the while her small companion would gather sage energy on her behalf, doing his absolute best to brave the harshness of the storm.

Souma frowned as she caught the weather changing, rain threatened at any moment, and nodded as Taki called out much the same. "Quite right. My concern is flash flooding and lightning. Ordinarily, hardly an issue, but considering the condition of our ops team, I think it may well be wise to start keeping an eye out for stable ground that won't be susceptible to flooding or to erosion- rocks would be better than earthen rises." She moved close to her wards. "Nanabi-san, if necessary, I will be picking you up to ensure you are not swept away. Shinzo, sir? Do you think you will be able to maneuver if the storm brings floodwaters? Or should we keep Taki close to you for much the same reason?"

It'd occur to her only later that everyone else was going to be struggling with the discomfort of losing heat to the rain if they didn't get shelter soon. Not much later- but with her own disregard for anything short of scorching or freezing temperatures, it just wasn't as prominent in her mind as possible drownings in floodwaters.

"Keeping an eye out for that do not slope inwards would be good, too. We do not want to get flooded out or drown in a cave, after all."

The moment Souma mentioned that her concern was lightning, the quickly darkening skies seemed to have listened and responded with a loud thunder. The rain was starting to fall, and in a short time it began to pour a real downfall of water. Thunder roared with all its might, as the purple lightning travelled through the darkened clouds, menacing and merciless. The water was quickly making itself present not only around them, but by their feet, creating puddles of water, and starting to generate slippery mud.

It shouldn't be much of a problem for shinobi if they used their chakra to remain more stable on the ground, but this was more challenging to the still injured members of Squad 11, which severely reduced their pace. This trip would be taking probably double the predicted time, and the more time it took, the more susceptible to risk they were. Nanabi nodded at Souma's words, and Shinzo responded. "I'm fine so far, I can still use my chakra to keep me stable." he said, as he used it to fight against the unstable terrain. Nanabi, however, was clearly struggling.

As they kept moving forward the weather would pick up making things even harder for them, the water would rise. "Everyone send some chakra into your feet this water is getting kinda rough.” she’d love over at her small animal companion. "Hang on little buddy, just a little while longer for me.” the small chimp did as his master said keeping his feet heavily grounded to her jacket to the point where she could feel the tension on her shoulders from his efforts.

She’d look back at the crew placing some chakra into her feet so that she could keep herself on solid ground as they made their way forward. But as she looked back she’d notice that Nanabi was in a bad way, clearly having a hard time keeping herself on her feet.

"Nanabi!?” the girl would race towards looking around and finding a tree, grappling Nanabi and pulling her gently towards it as not to aggravate her injury. If she made it there successfully she'd look towards Souma. "Souma can you make a structure that can sapport us…?” Nanabi’s knee was undoubtedly giving her trouble and with her injury making it hard for her to stand they either needed to find solid ground or create one.

"Captain…a barrier would be pretty helpful right abhat now…!” the weather didn’t look like it was going to let up and they needed to keep themselves secure one way or another. "Ito…anything in your bag of tricks would be nice too!”

Souma's eyes flicked up to the skies as they darkened, frowning faintly at the rapidly worsening weather. Predictable, understood, but no less awful for all that. "Heard and acknowledged," Souma replied at the direction to start water-walking now, before things got worse. She noted Taki taking Nanabi over to a tree, and frowned faintly- floods and landslides could and would tear trees from their roots- but maybe she could hedge their bets to make that a much safer anchor.

"A barrier would be nice, but we should save it. That is a maintained technique- we should use flat-cost methods to shore our chances first," Souma said. Taki might think of her as un-confident, but there wasn't a hint of that now. She saw what needed to be done, and wasn't willing to waste time on niceties with lives on the line.

First things first, her hands flashed through a few practiced signs and produced a steel dome, uphill from the tree slightly, then two more, extremely close together. The three formed a wedge upriver that would split the current of water flowing down past them and- if the water rushing down was dangerous- split the flow to either side of the tree to help prevent erosion, or knocking over the tree. Water would still flow into the space between the wedge and the tree, but it wouldn't have the force needed to wash away the earth held in place by the roots.

Then, one more, at the base of the tree, turning the wedge into a diamond. "If you hit this one by the tree hard enough," she said to Taki, who she knew was strong enough to stave in the dome. "-the top will dent inwards and you will drive the steel into the ground further. Beat the top fully concave and it will make a secured, walled bowl that will not get washed away, and the wedge should split the water coming down if it has any serious rate of flow- and if it does not have such flow, it will not be overly concerning."

She looked up at the crackling sky. "I would offer to secure everyone with cables, but should the tree be struck by lightning, I think it would be catastrophic. I will be fine- my armor is insulated, and it will just ground the lightning- but anyone else would likely cook."

A glance to Shinzo. "You and Nanabi should get in the bowl, and you should stay at the ready for a barrier. If there's a flash flood that would crest the wedge, we'll want the barrier to keep us in place long enough for the flow to stabilize. The rest of us need to be mobile in case the plans fail and someone gets swept downstream."

Taki warned them all to send chakra to their feet, and all of them managed to do that except for Nanabi, whose injuries were interfering with her ability to properly use her chakra. Noticing that, Taki asked if Souma could do anything about that, before asking Shinzo if he could use a barrier technique to help them out. "I... I could, but we would need to stay here for it to serve any purpose..." he sighed, feeling a bit embarrassed he couldn't give them a better solution to the situation.

Souma then used her Kekkei Tota to create a steel dome, and then two more to protect them from the flowing water, and as it grew more intense, her actions proved quite useful for the groups slow progress. The two slowly made teir way into the bowl, and he nodded when she said he should be ready to use a barrier if needed.

Ito also seemed to be out of options, so he shrugged and shook his head. Now, what they would be doing was up to Taki and Souma. Would they push forward and make progress, or sit there and wait for the weather to get better? In any case, it seemed like the storm would still go on for several hours.

Given the nature of the situation and the roar of the water, Taki would feel the rush of the waves that came her way from the ground below and now with Aki having gathered a sufficient amount of sage mode the girl would tell him to keep steady but he more than likely wouldn’t be able to keep it up for too much longer.

"Alright Buddy pass it off.” as the small chimp would pass on the sage energy into his master Taki would mold the energy and allow herself to enter into her partially transformed state, with her usual transformed features. As she did so Souma would relay a plan to her, the job in of itself was too keep the metal rods into the ground being given the order the girl would push down the steel pillars allowing the water to navigate around them.

"You sure dis is a good idea…dhese are made o metal… if dat storm zaps up it ain’t gonna be good.” for now the water would slide around the two of them and her small chimp would scurry into the girls pocket to keep himself safe from the rain. With that the girl would look to the others. "We’re staying put, Captain think you can take care of us?” the young blonde would say as the rain continued to downpour.

"Staying here is, I think, the best we will manage. We do not have any guaranteed shelter elsewhere, and it can be created here. As well, the tree is its own advantage, as it is anchored firmly and, thanks to our efforts, spared the direct erosion of the flood. And while lightning would normally be a concern," Souma stated, nodding to Taki as she flashed a few hand signs and stomped through the shallow water spilling back in around the sides of the domes, causing a fresh steel cable and a steel javelin to erupt upwards, "-I can fix that."

She made quick work of it, feeding one end of the cable through a kunai and stomping it into the dry earth under the mud overtop until it stuck in the clay, and then scampered up the tree to use the other end of the cable to lash the javelin into place at the top of the tree.

Souma created a lightning rod!

As she returned to the others, she thumbed up at her work. "Lightning likes tall things, easy paths to the ground, and this is exactly what we put on top of our buildings to stop them being harassed during storms. With one end of the cable buried, and the other end attached to a conductive spear at the highest point around, any lightning around here will hit that and miss us entirely."

She moved, then, to Nanabi's side and gently checked her leg. "I apologize. I wish I could do more. If I healed you further, it would endanger proper healing we could accomplish once we return to the village. I have to ask you to bear with us a little longer."

A glance, then, to Shinzo. "If you need more chakra, speak up. I am more than provisioned to accomodate refreshing those in my care. Please do not hesitate. Simply be ready in case we need the barrier. For now, I believe we are alright."

Taki seemed concerned with the metal attracting the lightning that slashed the skies in bright purple, but Souma put her concerns to rest with her explanation and with her overzealous action shortly thereafter, creating a makeshift lightning rod. They should be safe from lightning, and with that done, the captain, knowing they would be staying put, used one of his barrier techniques to basically deflect the rain, creating a dome where they could be protected from the elements. "It should help keep us warm, once he can dry our clothing." he said in a low, yet confident tone.

Nanabi shook her head at Souma's words. "You've done enough, Souma-san. I appreciate it. I wish I could be more helpful. You two are really saving our lives. I can never repay this." she said with a sweet smile on her face.

As they sit there, the members of squad 11 were showing more signs of getting tired. The storm would likely take a few extra hours to go away, so they had to decide if they would just sit there, or actually sleep for the night, so they could continue when the weather was better, or if they were going to stay awake.

With barrier now having been constructed Taki would bide her time for the moment. "I say we take da time to rest while we can, Souma give Nanabi a once over and captain…save your strength.” Taki would take a seat turning towards the edge of the barrier watching as the rain would fall, the barrier would keep them safe from a storm but what about another enemy attack there were shinobi who had chased them down before so who’s to say it couldn’t happen again. "Souma look afta team 11 I’ll keep my eyes peeled for any enemies while we try to weadda out da storm.” she’d glance back to her.

"It’s still da middle o da afternoon so if we’re lucky it should calm down in a couple o hours.” she’d then take a seat placing her knuckles together as the rain fell and would take the time to meditate alongside her little chimp companion. "For now let’s just be patient, if anyone needs it I got some chakra pills in my jacket pocket.” the girl would remark as she would then tune everything out and begin her meditation, but not before sending out a rather weak pulse in order to try and scan the environment for trouble.

The pulse itself was rather lackluster only going roughly 20m and the reception itself was blurred like a bad signal from a radio broadcast. And while it may not provide her with much but it would allow to her to at least see something.

This technique is invaluable to Sennin, however the gathering rate of Natural chakra is slightly reduced as compared to gathering by oneself. This means regaining Natural chakra takes one turn longer than it normally would, however the added benefit of movement whilst doing do definitely makes this technique worth the wait.

During Taki's training she learns that she has a significant amount of energy and after graduating to the rank of genin she began to learn how to properly make use of them under the tutelage of Midori Chizawa. As a result the girl is now able to perform a bevy of powerful techniques for longer periods of time without tiring as quickly as others.

With the rigorous training that Taki's now able to throw down with the best of them boasting monstrous strength fitting for her professional wrestling background, having combined that with the training she performed at the academy has now made her able to performs ridiculous feats such as being able to crush stones in her grip causing concussions and snap bones with her powerful strikes and holds. Taki has also increased the amount of weight she is able to lift by a massive margin in a way that makes her an even more fearsome taijutsu practitioner than before.

As a result of her training, and advancements as a genin. Taki's grappling ability has increased even further making her wrestling based techniques far more difficult to deal with and escape from. As a result, her slams, holds, submissions and suplex's are far more damaging and harder to escape from then that of a genin who is not trained in these particular abilities.

When transforming into Sage Mode Taki's body and overall Taijutsu prowess increase exponentially most notably her grip strength allowing her to take hold of someone with a painful amount of power amplifying her already proficient ability to grapple with an opponent making it significantly harder to be broken out of as well a deal a considerable amount of damage.

When transforming into Sage Mode Taki's body Taki is able to use nature energy to harness her powers in order to make her more physically imposing than normal adding to her natural affinities with Taijutsu allowing her move faster and hit harder heavy items thus adding a good amount of power and heft to her attacks allowing her to snap bones with much less effort and outpace a good majority of her enemies with her monstrous charge.

Due to the coarse strength of a gorilla's skin Taki is able to withstand a good amount of extra punishment allowing her to be able to withstand blows from most enemies that most shinobi wouldn't be able to normally withstand. As such blows from strong fighters are reduced by a considerable amount and when struck feel like colliding with a considerably immovable force.

Souma murred quietly to herself, reflecting on the need to add a firekit to her travel pack in the future. "I apologize, I somehow did not think to pack a firestarter nor a flint when I left. I will make sure to amend that in the future. As for drying clothing, I could procure a couple steel bars to wrap clothing between and twist out the water, but that is the best I could do on that front. A fire would be better, if anyone can start one."

The medic offered Nanabi a calm, sincere little smile. "No need to feel so. You are doing as well as anyone in your position could be expected to do. And you will repay us. By living and recovering."


She nodded to Taki at her direction. "Already on it. Let us know if you see anything of note." She paused, and offered, "Were I a party following us, I would wait until dark to attack. Now is an optimal time to rest, I think, for those of us that need it. I think maybe once you give things a once-over, it might be best to have you rest, too, Taki. So as to preserve your talents for after dark falls? Do you think that would be wise?"

If so, Souma herself would keep watch while there was still daylight to do so with.

The group held their position, hoping for the weather to improve, while dealing with the issues caused by the pouring rain. The rain would continue until it was later into the night, turning into a light drizzle by the time it got close to midnight, until it finally stopped at around 1:30 am. The group were able to rest, for the most part, taking a nap here and there, but it was not as restful as a full night of sleep.

The terrain was dangerous, despite the rain. The mud created by the storm would pose a challenge for the injured group, but at the very least, they could proceed with their journey now. The Captain would turn to Taki and give her a nod. "Shall we get going, then, Taki-san?" he asked her.
