The good news was that the 'path' the grass shinobi were on was, just as Atagi had foretold, the least traveled. The bad news was that the sparse few that had gone the same direction were significantly faster, the obvious downsides of choosing to operate as a unit beginning to rear their heads. Nonetheless, he keeps his chin up, despite the arrow of being among the slowest piercing his pride, encouraging his fellows to keep up the pace and to press through the danger, flashing intermittent smiles and thumbs up to make sure everyone was good. All for one and one for all, yeah?He avidly carries on forth with their chosen path of the Right Mountain Route, undeterred by the danger. While his first inclination is to charge forth with all the grace and poise of an elephant loaded up with sacks of silverware, he makes sure to stick with his compatriots.

As for why, well. He's long since remarked that ”I'm kinda flying blind here, so keep n' eye out for falling rocks, or falling 'me's', bahaha!”, making it clear that it wasn't as if he had any secret plans or jutsu for if he were to start plummeting to his demise when they were leaping from craggy rock to craggy rock, or running along sheer cliff faces with no foot/handholds. Of course, if their ballsy, haphazard progress along the mountain happens to lead them to the Right Mountain Path, or proceeding forward without some specialty technique becomes unfeasible, they'd be forced to find/go down it. ”On the bright side, looks like they don't have any guards, sentries, or obstacles of that nature this way, yeah? Aside from nature itself! So we can be a little less worried about needing to hide, I'd bet!” He felt the observation to be quite astute, even if that was obvious to everyone else already.

While this jutsu does allow the user so quickly change direction and achieve top speed in an instant, it does in no way speed up the users movements beyond their capability.

This is considered one of the most advanced academy techniques, as it requires a constant emission of chakra as well as constant mental focus to maintain the transformation. Shinobi are limited to transforming into objects roughly their own size, preventing them from turning into a fly while being able to carry items far greater than their transformed state.

She'd climbed a mountain by herself before, utilizing nothing but sheer will, strength, and endurance. It was how she had trained and conditioned her body to move as fast as she had before. As she had first made her way to the end of the narrow path, seemingly undetected compared to most, she considered her options. Go the harder route and more treacherous path? Or did she go the path of the more visible and closer road? She took this into consideration, taking but a few precious moments of breath as she knelt, getting a feel for the area. Before she made her mind. Putting chakra to her legs, she dashed towards the jagged rocks. Deciding to go the harder to transverse, more dangerous, but less seen path.

First, rising to a vantage to see where the trail roughly was, she would then springboard off, leaping from the sides of the jagged rocks in triangular jumps, pressing off the flat surfaces of each one to launch herself with even greater momentum from platform to platform, rapidly moving along with little wasted movement, and where rock gaps became too massive for her to jump in a single movement, she leaped, and with a single handseal, her hair would lengthen, harden, and strengthen far beyond its normal capabilities in the form of long tendrils, grappling and wrapping around the rocks for support as she swings from safe platform to platform. Swiftly deactivating the jutsu as she made her way. Feeling the rush of adrenaline as she made swift progress, though also keeping her senses sharp.

In her period of desolate isolation, her ally to find her location was relative to the sun. as well as any notable landmarks ahead of her. Any growth of moss or other fauna to give her an idea, as well as the blow of the wind, which she took into mind before she moved so she knew she wasn't being turned around. As she moved farther and farther, she'd follow the rough outline of the path towards the next checkpoint, and would not stop moving. She knew if she did, exhaustion would hit a lot harder and faster. So instead, she would keep moving, just at slightly slower paces if need be, would drink from a trusty water bottle, and would reach into her pouch for a small piece of hard candy. While most people saw dangerous sharp, and dangerous rocks, Iruhi saw room for springboards and even faster movement. They were Shinobi. They lived difficult lives, and thus, they must at times travel in dangerous and uncomfortable terrains and positions. Be left in paths that are not often traveled. While other times they must blend within the common eye. Regardless. Occasionally, she would climb up to the top slowly, her grey hair hopefully melding with granite or grey stone as she looked to make sure she was on the right traveling path. She would listen from time to time, keeping her senses sharp, for movement, for prying eyes that may linger about her, or disturbances that might prove to be accurate? She felt free.

Letting herself fall from high height, only to use her Lion's Mane technique to grasp tightly at stone and further fling her further a longer distance, as if she were some sort of monkey, skittering past this earthly domain. Taking deep breaths, she controlled her breathing, and let her lungs take in as much of the air as possible as she acclimated to this. This time, when gazing the next potential balloon, assuming she was getting closer, she proceeds to very silently scale and hide, taking from her pack her favorite blanket, melding in with her environment, listening for signs of presence as she inched her way along. Assuming all seemed clear, as she caught her breath, she would look to make her way to it, looking to leave her opponents behind her in the dust. Also being mindful the exam would get harder the further she progressed.

DESCRIPTION:

Chakra poured into the user's hair will extend violently, reaching out like many dense tendrils of fibers. The hair, becoming hard and tough like steel, aims to ensnare and bind targets within thirty meters, their sharpened tips boring into their bodies as it seemingly stitches them while knotting around them. This works well to halt the movements of even massive beasts, not to mention halt several dozen shinboi at once. These tendrils are capable of shaping their ends into what appears to be a lion's mouth, filled with a maw filled with razor sharp iron-rending teeth. Hungry for blood, the beastly endings to these binding tendrils work to finish off whatever prey the user may have caught. With the amount of hair created on average, shinobi are typically able toe create up to twelve individual massed tendrils of hair.

Summary: 

- Shinde uses her environment, and basic survival knowledge of the breeze, location of fauna growing and position of the sun to tell cardinal directions after getting a single good look from a vantage on where she needs to go, checking only if she feels safe and hasn't sensed anything, remaining silent and remaining sharp with her senses. She uses this to not get lost on the jagged rock path, and follows the rough outline to reach her destination.

- Shinde doesn't stop moving, but does take the liberty to take some hard candy and water as she moves to regain energy, fluids, and morale boost.

- Iruhi uses tree walking and the Ranjishigami no Jutsu in case there is the risk of falling and to rapidly springboard propel herself from jagged rock to jagged rock, as well as make massive leaps and bounds that would otherwise be treacherous, dashing at incredible speeds in the rough terrain.

- She uses the Cloak of Invisibility to hide as she approaches the end of the stretch, to blend in, even if there might not be anyone looking in her general direction as she approaches, blending with rocks or cliffside, assuming she might still be potentially spotted.

Kojirou, still confident in his skill with the Art of Tree-Climbing and Art of Water Walking, continued on and began picking up his pace at first, for he too felt a little behind. While not that many was taking this route, there were notably faster participants present… or, well, not present right now, ‘cause those who took this route had passed by. Still, confident in the element of stealth more than his speed, Kojirou followed his team along the Right Mountain Route, his hands free to aid while he scouted the more and more hazardous terrain. Atagi, too, felt a bit out of the loop with all of the jagged rocks sticking up, but Kojirou had a few contingency plans.

He would be able to catch one of them with a Rubber Rope, should a teammate of his suddenly find themselves in free fall or topple towards certain perish. He could also use the same Jutsu as a sort of grappling hook for his own uses. If he, himself, was in danger, he trusted a Rubber Ball jutsu to save his skin – it would mean a very rough, bouncy ride down a cliffside, but the rubber manifested from Lava Release was nothing to scoff at.

With these Jutsus in hand, Kojirou would follow suit as before, a little nerved by the lacking sight of scouts around… and should they have been lucky enough to do well on the Right Mountain Route, then the Cloak of Invisibility Technique and the Transformation Technique would stay just as useful as before. Still, with no clear path visible, they'd have to rely on walking on solid and jagged walls for much longer.

About speed… he had one Jutsu that could help, but it was a taxy one, and it was likely only useful for just the right interval of, say, seconds. Not to be used right now. "We should still keep low… they don’t need to call us out if we get caught, right?”

Things would turn out a bit uneventful for the young shinobi. She, at least from her knowledge, hadn't been spotted and made it passed the first checkpoint. While it did take a bit of time and while she was feeling confident she was doing ok so far she wasn't about to let this exam make her feel overconfident. Keeping a level head and watching the others around her to see what they were doing she would soon realize the plains were oddly crowded with people. Kohaku thought it would be a decent amount of people here, but the sheer numbers were quite astounding as the realization of how many people were in this exam dawned on her.

Upon reaching an impasse on another choice she had to plan out her next tactic for continuing this exam. To get closer to the central road or get closer to the mountains? Both had different challenges the young Kunoichi had to undergo. One had almost no cover and would lead to, in her mind, the most obvious visual option while the other seemed to lead to a possible trap and danger. Logic would dictate that she would avoid the latter and go for the former of the options, but she figured everyone would go closer to the plains so she would ultimately go towards the hidden path close to the mountain route. Kohaku would do her best to keep her cover going with her cloak of invisibility to keep her hidden in the brush.

Things seemed to be going fine and his birds were doing their job quite well. He could see a few people ahead of him of course which was fine as they could be a good distraction for any proctors in the exam and it would prove a way for him to avoid any traps if needed. The birds were also good for letting him find his way down and around the forest so long as he was connected to them and they didn't fly too far away from him. He never realized how useful his clan's jutsu and abilities would be for navigating till he used them practically. He knew theoretically though so having at least that knowledge proved to be helpful for the heir. Takame would take notice of a few of the shinobi beginning to head off closer to the canal and the mountain due to how lush the forest was becoming. It seemed that things were getting difficult for people to navigate around here and honestly if it weren't for the birds Takame would feel the same. A small smile would grace his lips as he would stop for a second and let a bird come closer to him again. He would begin giving instructions to a bird that came close to him in a hushed whisper to tell them to scout ahead to make sure he was going the correct way back to Kuwana. He would await hidden in the brush as it flew above the trees while still in his eyesight as he kept his Me no Karasu [Eye of the Crow] on that specific bird to see what they were seeing. Once he got the direction set he would disengage the jutsu from that bird before continuing down the forest sticking to its dense coverage while keeping an eye on his surroundings using both his clan's eyes and the birds as his scouts for any dangers or suspicious individuals in the woods. The range of this jutsu is about 2 miles, allowing the user to see through the eyes of any bird within that range. While this jutsu is much simpler than Spying Flock Technique, it can help acquire much more useful information by getting the chance to directly see what the birds in that area are seeing. Mission accomplished! Katsuo would say inside his head as he passed the first checkpoint with ease. He knew pretending to be something he already closely looked like would prove a good strategy! Who would stop a hunter from hunting especially if it both helped the village's economy by providing the game to their marketplace and helped cull any overabundance of fauna populous that might occur? Though his joy was soon dashed as there seemed to be a roadblock keeping them away from advancing too easily. [break][break]

While Katsuo didn't stop moving his eyes would dart from side to side trying to figure out what to do next. Sudden movements to the side would prove he wasn't what his disguise was trying to express, but he didn't have any paperwork to prove himself and he was sure how long his disguise would last out here. So what was he to do? Well, he would just have to see how well his disguise would work and how far it could get him. So keeping the Henge no Jutsu [Transformation Technique] up he would continue down the path towards the roadblock though he would make sure his badge was exam badge was hidden with his transformed state. It was still on his person, but it would be kept hidden under a layer of his clothing to not give him away at first glance. If asked why he was walking here he would explain he was simply a hunter providing services for the locals to help them get meat for their stalls or their family for the right coin.[break][break]

As he and his vulpine companion moved into the forest path, Sho couldn't help but notice just how many people were going with them. He wondered, just for a moment, if that was safe.

Sure, this was not a zero-sum game, there wasn't a limited amount of people who could pass this round. But with a larger group of people, there was a larger amount of passive noise being made, the noise of footsteps and the movement of foliage, that kind of thing would inevitably build up with a larger crowd.

It might, therefore, have made sense for him to encourage his teammate to fall back, letting there be a gap between themselves and the crowd. However, it was just before he was about to encourage that that he noticed something extremely useful.

If there was one benefit to being a medic in a village of ninja, it was getting to know your clients on a daily basis. Sho would argue there were many other benefits, but none of them were relevant right now. Right now, Sho's eyes fell upon a golden-haired miscreant, recalling them with an air of familiarity, even not on a personal basis.

Over the years, Sho had dealt with people from almost every family within the village at some point, and thus was innately familiar with their various abilities and hijutsu.

Or, in other words, he recognised a Takame when he saw one.

Takame were one of the more unusual people in the village, taking great care to hide what their abilities were. What was known about them was that they were hyper-competent scouts, something that was liable to be steering them right. 

With them heading deeper into the forest, Sho knew that if anyone was going to have a way to see over the treetops to ensure they were headed in the right direction, it was a Takame.

Silently nudging Hana with his elbow, he gestured his head towards the golden-haired boy, before moving to get closer, all but meeting him step for step as they continued their path through the forest.

Stopping as he stopped, waiting for him to be done with the bird, Sho quietly spoke to the other Kumo-nin with his usual pleasant demeanor.

"Hey! Kumo nin should stick together right. If there's anything you need help with, don't hesitate to ask. In return, do you mind if we follow you? Your family are pretty good scouts, so I can guess if you're going this way then we're going the right way, right?"

It was quiet, Sho lacking any ability to know just how close they were to anyone who might be scouting, but regardless of the boy's answer he would keep up, footfall for footfall, heading further into the woods.

The lack of orientation in the forest quickly became an issue more and more evident as the crowd thinned forward instead of backwards. Once Miroru caught on to that issue, she started working on a way to circumvent the issue, murmuring to Itsuki and their partnerfox in the underbrush. "Okay, you two, we gotta pick up the pace a bit. We don't need to get careless, but we need to show some urgency. I'm gonna take to the air and flit up so I can peek above the canopy without being particularly obvious and keep us oriented towards the next checkpoint. We're gonna have to rely on your abilities, here- the little foxes can't keep up. That's my bad, everyone," she murmurs, bending to scoop up the Bakenokawa with them. "You three can go home. We've got this."

"Of course, Miss. Do take care. We'll all be watching with interest." A poof, and all three foxes disappeared together.

It only took a few handseals to melt down into a common swift and dart above the canopy, giving Itsuki time to get ready to move faster while Miroru checked their bearings. Once she saw where they needed to go, she flitted back down and chirped at Itsuki, flitting ahead to show him the way, letting Itsuki set the pace and flitting up above the trees now and then to keep them headed towards their destination. She kept an eye out herself, of course, pairing with Itsuki's sensory skills to help them plot a path at his top speeds safely clear of anyone they might need to avoid!

Sent the foxes home cuz slow

Using True Henge to turn into a very fast (like 3rd fastest flier on earth), small, nondescript bird (common swift, there's several varieties of swift in Japan) and flitting up over the trees to keep them on target while Itsuki senses dangers , working together to work around hazards, guards, etc without getting caught and keeping up speed!

As the mass of youths split off in their separate directions, each one confident they'd picked the best route, whether it be for its ease of traversal or it matching their individual skillset; none was as sure of their pick as Itsuko. The path ahead was smooth sailing. Her energy form had naturally gone without notice thus far and she took the peaceful opportunity to dip a bit further below the surface, obscuring her already impossible to spot form even further. Of course, a sensor nin would have little trouble spotting her; but then, a sensor would have little trouble spotting any shinobi.

She made careful effort to avoid anyone else who'd chosen the canal; if she collided with them she'd be disqualified while the unlucky sucker she hit would likely be served as the group's next meal, if not too terribly burnt anyway.

But things wouldn't be wholly without adversity. Ahead of her path was a massive steel wall, refusing passage to all who'd chosen the canal path. Anyone who'd picked the straight shot would have to surface, exit the canal and walk around before hopping back in. It would likely be a hotbed for getting spotted as the awkward exchange took place.

Luckily, Itsuko didn't have to worry about any of that. Metal was about as conductive a surface as they came and wouldn't present too much issue for her. She didn't exit the canal or try and slip through the cracks or anything of the sort. She simply continued on her path, its trajectory seemingly unaffected by the obstacle before her.

TLDR; Itsuko continues down the canal and passes through the metal barrier in her conductive energy form.

Getting to the first checkpoint took him a little longer than he thought it would, but that was okay. He still had plenty of time to win the race, he just needed to put on a little more speed. Pausing for a moment, he looked out over the terrain before him to see what options he had.

Being a deer seemed to be working out for him, well enough that he noticed from his vantage point that two of the other Takis had decided to adopt that as their mode of disguise. He, himself, would remain in his current form and he continued into the grassy plains. Part of him was telling him to follow the others on their way closer towards the road, but the louder part told him to go towards cover.

Deer-Nari bolted towards the Mountain Route, making sure to add a hop to his stride like a normal deer would do while running. Every several minutes, trying to remain sporadic and not in a patter, he would stop in his run and look around to take in the surroundings. But when he started running again he added on a little more speed, trying to make up for any lost time.

The mountain route provided him the cover he so desperately craved, and the path seemed to be more of an animal path than an actual beaten road, which made him feel a little safer, but of course he stayed on edge.

His speed suffered a little as he slowed to a trot, because a deer under cover would feel safer, right? But he kept his eyes and ears open as he moved quickly along the path, ready to bolt deeper into cover at the slightest sound of someone near him.

  A young member of the scattered Araikettei Clan, Narihira has the ability to wield the strange and powerful Life Blades. He created his own Blade at a young age, under the tutelage of his mother, however, instead of making a sword as was common for the Clan members, Narihira designed his in the shape of a polearm.

  Giving it the name Hisuiyuri, he began learning to properly wield it from the moment he could hold it. Due to the connection the blade shares with him, should it ever be broken, both Narihora and the blade's soul would die, so he keeps it on his person at all times and cares for it meticulously.

  Narihira was lucky to be born with a deeper-than-average chakra pool. It allows him to fight and use jutsu for longer periods of time before he tires, compared to those with average-sized chakra pools. It's especially useful for him, due to the fact that his Life Blade is constantly absorbing chakra from him. But thanks to the depth of his stores, he never feels the strain from that drain unless he has depleted the polearm's stores in combat.

  As all Life Blades, Hisuiyuri absorbs Nari's chakra continuously as he carries it around, stacking up a decent amount of chakra inside of itself equal to half its wielder's chakra pool. The chakra becomes Hisuiyuri's and cannot be accessed by anyone other than the spear, allowing it to have the ability to self-repair small nicks and scratches it may obtain during combat.

  It also allows Hisuiyuri to have its own built-in security in case someone other than Nari grabs onto it. Using its futon chakra, sharp blades of wind will strike at the stranger's hands and arms until they release the spear. These gouges are minor cuts but they do sting quite a bit if they manage to hit skin.

  When entering combat, Hisuiyuri will use its own stores to fuel its abilities until it runs out and then will begin taking from Narihira. Thanks to his deeper-than-average chakra pools the wielder and weapon are able to go for a decent length of time-fighting in that state, but eventually, it will cause Nari to lose consciousness if the spear takes too much chakra.
• 『Flying Jades』[break]
  Using its natural affinity to fūton, Hisuiyuri is able to detach the six small jade points that line the sides of its spearhead and allow them to hover. By sacrificing the shredding ability the points usually grant the spear, Narihira is able to fire them off either one-by-one or all at once towards his opponents.

  At it's current skill level, Hisuiyuri's points move at a speed slightly quicker than a regular thrown kunai, due to being powered by fūton chakra and Narihira's able to control the path the points take up to 30m.

Sticking with their original course along the mountainous terrain, Koume followed closely behind Atagi and a bit ahead of Kojirou. The jagged and rocky surface wasn’t much of an obstacle to Koume at least, the only problem was that it seemed as if they were moving in slow motion. Which in itself wasn’t an actual problem as it seemed as if there weren’t any security personnel that they needed to worry of, allowing them a persistent forward motion without needing to halt their progress to cover themselves from the eyes of surveying shinobi.

"As if we would let anything happen to you.”

Koume called out, her words meaning well but her tone hiding a hint of frustration as she wiped the sweat from her brow. Hiking wasn’t her forte, coupled with the fact that she felt very behind - the challenge was beginning to rear its ugly head. Despite this however, Koume remained in somewhat high spirits as she was surrounded by her friends.

Regardless of how dangerous the route got, she would not stray from it. From jagged loose footing to crooks and canyons that needed to be cleared, the pinkette would force herself to overcome it in a timely manner, as shying away from a challenge did not exist in her world. The girl would even pick up her pace, looking to make up for lost time.

in life, honor - in death, glory Hana's goal was to be the first to the bottom - or if nothing else, do her absolute best the entire time. Her pace had been exceptional thus far, so she was pleased with that, but her new teammate, Shosuke, had seemed like he wanted to catch up to her, or to get her to wait up.  Hana didn't know much about him yet, nor did she trust him like a good teammate should. Her instinct to work alone and take on every burden by herself kicked in and she just kept moving. She didn't expect him to keep up, especially as the routes began to change. There hadn't been any guards to worry about. She had picked up on plenty of chakra signatures with her fluffy, adorable, and perfectly sensitive ears, but nothing that made her worry too much. There did appear to be some other strange signatures, but being that she wasn't picking up on any sounds and they seemed to be around everyone, Hana theorized it was fine to ignore them. But she had a decision to make on how to proceed. Perhaps it would be foolish and risky, but Hana was the type to go hard. So, she chose the Right Mountain Route without hesitation. She continued to rely upon Moyakiko's ability to make her lighter and more maneuverable, as well as her clan's potent Step Method to maximize her base movement speed. These two made her quite quick. However, she was now going a place that she'd not be able to just sprint, instead, she had to rely on a mixture of different abilities. Wall Climbing was a staple of the shinobi skillset and one that Hana had mastered, she she'd use it here. However, just running was not always enough. If she needed hand holds, she'd use her kunai and senbon plus Great Expansion to stick them into the stone facade and expand their size to make gymnastic maneuvers easier and to maintain her speed down the mountain. With these various tools at her disposal, making it down safely should have been a breeze, and with it, maintaining a good pace while simultaneously avoiding guards. But anything can happen...

Yamanaka Itsuki

The sensation of being followed just on the edge of his sensory field left Itsuki slightly concerned, though it wasn't hard to figure that these were probably proctors watching their progress to assess how they went. The complete lack of any other kind of guards was disconcerting, but there wasn't anything he could do about that beyond keep his focus up and make sure that he wasn't spotted himself.

Nodding when Miroru spoke of speeding up, Itsuki took to using henge as well, though he couldn't become a bird like Miroru, he did take the shape of a common boar, hoping that the low to the ground and furred body would help keep him out of sight. Coupled with wild boars bad reputations and general skittishness, he had a decent excuse to keep away from any people.

Coupling this transformation, he would make use of Hohō to increase his speed, allowing him to go much faster than he normally would. Henge would take priority if he had to pick, since it would stop him from being too obviously spotted. He had seen enough boars, and spent enough time in Konoha's forests, to feel quite comfortable travelling through the trees at high speed. The problem of being able to keep their bearings was alleviated through Miroru popping up every now and then to check where they were going, while Itsuki would be ready to steer them around the sparse forest guards and any other patrols he might sense.

Konsho would remain inconspicuous for a time before he finally noticed the battalion of shinobi scouting the area. Konsho was certain that his hiker disguise would work as long as he maintained a distance... then again the fact that he was maintaining said distance would be suspicious. Before he could formulate his own idea, Kaida- a sage from Takigakure- would send her own. Certainly not a bad one. Especially as Konsho had much more experience with prey animals, and deer was among one of the most hunted animals- both by man and by the gorillas of Konsho's family.

As Konsho moved to a near by group of bushes, he'd quickly answer back into his radio. "Not a bad idea. A few things to sell it: keep your tails lower than mine. It will sell the pack hierarchy deers tend to have. Rotate your ears slowly even as we move, it's how they keep up with their surroundings. If you see my tail hairs stand- it means I'm warning you the patrol is near enough to alert normal deer." As Konsho would 'rest' in the bushes, he'd quickly make a clone who would seem to move away from the bushes slowly- as if he had run across something. "If they try to call our bluff with an attack, dash to nearest cover regardless of distance or time lost. Deer in this area are hunted often. Their instinct will be flight. If we feel they're getting too close do the following: flatten your tail, lift your chin, point the ears, and widen the eyelids. They do that when you've alerted them. If they continue to move at all after that, run. I'll fan my tail to lead us, you guys keep yours flat to hide the underside."

With that, as the clone 'hiker' moved away, Konsho would alter his transformation to appear as though he was a recently awoken buck, it's head lowered towards the 'hiker' as if bluffing an attack. To the hiker and bystanders, it would look like he was about to attack. But to any hunter, it was a bluff. The ears were not pinned back, the tail was still at a relaxed posture. As the 'hiker' ran and found an alternative path, Buck Konsho would then turn and dash off towards another near by group of deer, as the bluff was officially shown to be just that.

[Sesshoku, Hizou]

Hizou remained in True Transformation. As a hawk he continued his course, soaring through the sky high above the ground. Upon passing the first check point, Hizou's caution subsided. He begun flying in a straight line again, following the Right Mountain Path best he could. Fluttering his animal transformation's wings, the hawk's body gained at little extra speed as the shinobi acclimatised to its unfamiliar physiology.

During flight, Hizou paid close attention to his rival competitors; of which sogo apparently blazed ahead into the distance, barely remaining within his gaze. The other's that choose the same path however seemed to be falling behind, preferring to work as a team to proceed.

Reaching the next check point, Hizou gained more altitude to remain out of the vision of anyone guarding the point. He kept high, gliding a hundred meters or so off the ground. While he flew over the milestone, the boy took another moment to enjoy the breeze and beautiful view.

It was around then Hizou felt himself starting to get a little exhausted. Analazing the current level of his chakra pool and known limits, Hizou deduced he probably couldnt hold the transformation for much more than another hour or two at most.

DESCRIPTION:
After four hand-seals, the user is capable of transforming themselves either into a person or animal, as long as the creature is less than 10 meters tall. Unlike regular henge, this technique allows the user to completely take on the characteristics of the said animal, though they lose their ability to perform jutsu while transformed. They're also capable of holding the form in battle, even after taking considerable damage, though the more damage they take the more taxing the technique becomes.

Damage is retained between both forms, so a broken arm in one's original form would make it impossible to fly if you transformed into a bird; and any damage taken in their transformed state is retained when they return to their original form. If this jutsu is used to transform into someone with a higher rank, you're still limited by the physical capabilities of your rank and specs; this same rule doesn't hold when transforming into an animal that might have natural physicality beyond the user.
