The early morning mist draped itself like a veil over the rugged terrain surrounding Kirigakure no Sato. As the sun's first rays painted the landscape with delicate shades of orange and pink, the uneven terrain cast long, eerie shadows across the rocky ground. Despite the serene beauty of the scene, Mizuki couldn't help but recognize the potential danger in the morning mist—it could easily conceal an enemy's approach to the mine.

Standing at the edge of the mining camp, nestled deep within the mountainous region, the mission's objective was clear—protect the invaluable diamond and gem mines, the lifeblood of the village's economy. This task carried profound significance, not solely for the immense wealth it generated, but also for its pivotal role in safeguarding the village's security and stability.

In an unexpected turn of events, Mizuki found themselves partnered with none other than the Mizukage himself, Toru. While some might have been overwhelmed by the honor of working alongside the village leader, Mizuki maintained a different perspective. To them, Toru remained the enigmatic figure from their shared academy days, an individual whose expressions seldom showed any meaningful emotion. They didn't share a deep friendship, but the presence of a familiar face brought a sense of reassurance, especially considering Toru's proven capabilities as a shinobi.

While they waited, Mizuki's restless fingers absently traced the strap securing their sword, a gesture ingrained by their restlessness as they waited. Their attention remained divided between anticipating Toru's arrival and maintaining a vigilant watch over the surrounding terrain. This sense of readiness had become second nature, a response drilled into them during their shinobi training—to always be prepared for the unexpected, even during missions that seemed routine.

With each passing moment, the anticipation of Toru's arrival intensified, making them wonder if they had arrived a bit too early. Whether it was the upcoming mission or the intriguing company of the enigmatic Mizukage, Mizuki couldn't help but acknowledge the undercurrent of intrigue that tinted the tranquility of the early morning.

Toru followed a moral law that he himself had instilled in himself. No leader, no matter how high up the ladder should sit around and never engage with those that they lead. This was perhaps the primary reason that he took on as many missions as he did. Some might have said that it made him absent from his desk, but he had people he trusted working in the office alongside him. It was a team effort and he could hardly take all the credit for what had been occurring in the nation in the last several years.

Progress.

Of course, the leader spearheaded this progress, but without a collective effort it would have gone nowhere. So he was proud of what had been accomplished and more than willing to go on multiple missions, assigning himself dangerous ones in the name of making certain that the missions got done right, he wanted to be certain of it, so he went on them himself. Often assigning someone he felt could do the mission well alongside himself.

Today the individual was Mizuki. A Hozuki that was a bit of a change of pace from the Hozuki he recently faced and had to put an end to that had a strange vendetta against his disappeared mother...

The fog was not too heavy today, the sun spearing through it as he traveled into the mountains towards the mines, alone. It was Mizuki's scent that drew him to his partner until they were almost face-to-face. With a respectable distance between them since Toru was not the type of person who got into people's spaces unless he was trying to kill them, and Mizuki was a far stone's throw from being on the wrong end of his sword.

"Morning, ready?" It was a simple ask, having never been one to impart many words on his companions.

Plus, they had to be doubly certain that no one snuck up on them. Fortunately, Toru had a decent sense of smell so any strange foreign scents could be picked up on quickly.

Kyogi Itsuki looked down at the sprawling, mist-veiled mining camp with a calm, calculated smile. It had taken him three weeks to put together a crew for this job and nearly that long to plan it, but today was the day. Millions of ryo worth of diamonds and rare gems were being shipped out of the camp on a weekly basis and, though the schedule was always random, he had found a tell that could be exploited, if you knew how to be careful. The guard on the mine was never more than twenty shinobi- except on days when a shipment was to leave. On those days, it nearly tripled, making the place almost impossible to break into.

Almost.

Motioning for his men to move in, Kyogi watched as the first group leapt into action, sliding down the mountainside on the eastern edge of camp, using both the rising sun and the westerly wind to their advantage. There were four of them, good men each, dressed in slate-gray and darker blues, meant to blend in with the rocks. It was a perfect disguise, but it wasn’t meant to be. If the men did their job, none of them would have to worry about getting caught or killed. If they did their job, that is. Let’s go boys. Time to make some money.

Currently there are four bandits heading towards the camp from a ridge on the eastern slope. They are trying to be stealthy, but are fairly easy to spot if you pay attention. Kyogi is not visible.

As time flowed like a gentle stream, Mizuki's keen eyes gradually fixated on a familiar figure gracefully approaching. Toru, enigmatic and composed as always, maintained a respectful distance with his approach. His aura exuded an air of efficiency that Mizuki couldn't help but admire, even if it often resulted in their interactions being brief and Toru appearing somewhat reserved. Nevertheless, when Toru finally let out his short and sweet greeting, Mizuki would greet him with an unusual sight in the world of high-ranking shinobi—a friendly smile.

"Morning, Stone Face-san," Mizuki affectionately quipped, using the old nickname from their academy days rather than simply calling him Mizukage-sama, which he’d probably prefer. It was a way of acknowledging their shared past without delving into the formality that often accompanied their respective ranks.

Their conversation, however, was abruptly interrupted by the subtle tingling of Mizuki's senses. An intruding presence had crept within the range of their passive sensory field. With an instinctive reaction, they casually gestured towards the direction from where the interlopers were descending. Mizuki knew that Toru was probably no stranger to this unfolding situation, but the gesture served as a silent confirmation of their shared awareness.

"It seems like you got here just in time, by the way," Mizuki remarked, their senses fully attuned to the incoming threat. The enemy had entered their sensory net, signaling that the mission was about to commence far earlier than expected. A sense of urgency filled the special jounin, despite the enemy’s slow approach. "There are four descending from the mountain about 200 meters away, but stay alert; there's another one concealed further up the slope. We should probably intercept them before they breach the camp perimeter though. Given our ranks, you should probably take the lead for this mission."

That last bit could have probably gone without saying, but Mizuki preferred laying things out plainly like that. Mizuki shifted their gaze towards the slowly approaching adversaries, but their stance remained casual as they awaited Toru’s input. It’d been a long time since the two had interacted, they were curious what exactly his leadership style was like in missions. Either way, if Toru gave any orders Mizuki would prioritize following them, otherwise Mizuki would simply stay close behind him with the expectation of providing support.

Hydrification
The Hydrification technique is a core technique in Mizuki’s arsenal that they learned from his mother at a young age. The technique itself grants them the remarkable ability to liquefy their entire body at will. In this form, they become impervious to physical attacks, rendering them immune to all physical damage. Every part of their body can transform into water, providing a wide range of applications whether it's evading an opponent's close-quarters assault, infiltrating secure locations undetected, or manipulating the water that makes up their body to alter their appearance.

Mizuki is so accustomed to their liquid form that to them it almost feels more natural than their human body; and because of this Mizuki can effortlessly control their liquid state, slipping through narrow cracks in stone or through the space beneath a door, silently infiltrating enemy structures. Additionally, if a part of their body becomes severed, it can be regenerated as long as there is an adequate water source available.

Despite its strategic advantages, there are a few drawbacks to this technique. When unconscious, Mizuki’s body reverts to a jelly-like blob, making it difficult to handle their liquid blobby body. Additionally, they are highly vulnerable to Raiton, Lightning Release, making it pertinent to avoid electrical jutsu at all costs. Furthermore, Mizuki must constantly be taking in water and remain hydrated to utilize the hijutsu effectively.

Impressive Chakra Control
Due to Mizuki’s otherwise average chakra pool, they decided that it was imperative during their training to improve their chakra control so they could maximize the efficiency of every drop of chakra flowing through their body. With meticulous precision, they learned to channel their chakra with finesse, ensuring that very little energy was wasted or misdirected. This expertise enables them to harness the full potential of their limited chakra reserves and excel across various specializations, since many of the more complex specializations have a host of jutsu that require expert chakra control.

Chakra Sensory
Fostering their chakra control naturally led to Mizuki discovering they had a talent for Chakra Sensory, opening up the possibility of sensing objects and living creatures without the aid of their five main senses. At the moment, in the heat of combat Mizuki can passively sense up to approximately 400 meters; and in the event that a shinobi leaves that range they can concentrate in order to increase that range to 2 kilometers. This sensory ability allows them to easily locate and attack shinobi that are trapped within the haze of their Kirigakure no Jutsu.

Reflexes
Due to Mizuki’s hijutsu coming with an inherent weakness to the Raiton element, one often associated with quick brutal attacks, they have worked rigorously on enhancing their reflexes to allow them to more adequately avoid lightning based attacks. Their impressive reflexes allow Mizuki to react much more quickly when a raiton jutsu is fired off by either utilizing their water balloon dispersal to avoid it entirely or in the event where that’s not possible it gives them time to quickly put her sword between themself and the attack.

Toru remained vigilant his entire approach, though hearing the not so formal greeting came to him as a slight surprise. It was a nickname that he had not heard in a long time. Though in some regard, it was one that still fit well enough, though the severity of his face had softened, there was still a silence and efficiency to him that could only be carved out of stone. It was hard to tell whether the name had been derogatory or not, and as a child he had hardly cared one way or another. He simply beat those that tried to pull anything over him, and all others had been given a cold shoulder. A cold shoulder, when Toru was younger, was the greatest kindness he could show to those that belonged to a clan.

After all, he had been Himura Toru not so long ago and the Kaguya name had stuck with his adoption.

Indeed, about Mizuki's gesture, the leader turned his head. He could smell the approach, since it was individuals who had four different profiles. But there was little he could tell otherwise - his sense of smell did not let him know what kind of people they were.

"I agree we should intercept, you go on first and I will create a perimeter and make sure they will not be able to get close. You can fight blind, yes?"

With Mizuki's sensory, Toru hoped that the Hozuki was capable of such a thing and so he set forth moving closer towards the approaching scents and once close enough, formed the hand seals necessary for a thick fog to roll into the area, particularly where the bandits were approaching. It would lower their visibility tremendously, enough that they would likely get lost in their approach if they did not know the exact step by step spots to get in close.

This would give not only Toru but also Mizuki the chance to get in very close without notice.

However, if they continued their approach seemingly unhindered by the mist, Toru would prepare something new for them to encounter soon enough - for now he would wait for how Mizuki would act.

Kirigakure no Jutsu

There was an art to stealing that few people bothered to ever truly master. Every theft, from a basic pickpocket to the most grandiose of heists, was made up of three distinct phases; the build up, the distraction, and finally, the snatch. Kyogi had studied the art of theft for a long while (almost his whole life, actually) and knew the best heists, the ones that worked, were both simple and efficient, wasting no time on needless extra bits.

So, when his men began to run down the incline towards the camp, Kyogi didn’t stick around to find out how they would do, speeding off to the north in a blur of motion as he formed a single hand seal; he knew their skill level, knew the odds of them breaking through the outer-defenses were slim to none. They were meant to die- and they knew that. Their families would be compensated well for their services, should he make this take.

To Mizuki, Kyogi’s signature would fade into nothingness as the man sped away, vanishing from the Houzuki’s senses just as Toru finished forming the final seal for his Hidden Mist jutsu. The four runners didn’t stop as the mist began to thicken around them, though they did slow, each drawing a kunai from their belt pouches as they neared the hundred meter mark from the camp. The four huddled in a loose diamond formation, clearly well-versed in working together but not in handling an enemy that could alter the battlefield as the MIzukage had done.

What would the Shinobi do now? Would they attack the group together, or would they split forces to try and track the now missing Kyogi down?

[Hōzuki Mizuki]

As Toru silently closed the gap between them and the approaching threat, Mizuki couldn't help but notice the new softness to the Mizukage's demeanor. While the moniker 'Stone Face' still held true to some extent, a relic of their academy days, Toru seemed less rigid and more approachable than Mizuki remembered. However, the urgency of the situation demanded their focus, leaving little time for contemplation.

Nodding in agreement with Toru's plan, Mizuki acknowledged the tactical advantage of obscuring the enemy's vision with the Hidden Mist jutsu. A smile played on their lips as Toru questioned their ability to fight blindly. It was a confident, almost playful response.

"Yeah, that won’t be a problem," Mizuki affirmed with self-assuredness. Their sensory training had honed their ability to navigate challenging scenarios, even when deprived of sight.

As the mist enveloped the area, concealing the approaching bandits, Mizuki turned their attention to the enemy's actions. It was clear that one of the adversaries, likely their leader, possessed skills in chakra suppression, which would largely nullify Mizuki’s talents as a sensor. It was a valuable observation that Mizuki promptly relayed to Toru.

"The guy who stayed back in the mountains seems to have chakra suppression abilities. He vanished while moving north," Mizuki informed Toru, their voice quiet but clear, as they attempted to relay the information without giving their position away to the bandits that were still a little over a hundred meters away. Such insights could prove crucial in understanding the enemy's capabilities and intentions.

With no need to deviate from Toru's original plan, Mizuki continued to move stealthily toward the bandits that had just entered the mist, their senses sharp and movements calculated. Once they were within 20 meters of the enemy formation and still hidden by the fog. It was the perfect vantage point to launch a surprise attack.

Mizuki formed a finger gun with their left hand, drawing moisture from their body to shape it into deadly water bullets. With incredible speed, they unleashed two projectiles, one at the frontmost and enemy on the left of their diamond formation. The trajectories of the projectiles would be almost imperceptible in the dense fog. The attack was swift, silent, and lethal. Mizuki aimed for the center mass of those two bandits, each water bullet carrying the potential to pierce through flesh and stone alike.

The unsuspecting bandits had advanced without much care for the imminent danger. It was a critical moment that would help gauge the enemy's skill or lack thereof, depending on their response to the attack. As the enemy moved through the fog, Mizuki would simply place their unoccupied hand on Samehada in preparation for the upcoming battle.

Toru listened to what Mizuki had to say, and while for Mizuki the enemy disappeared that was not the case for the Mizukage whose sense of smell kept track of the individual moving past the fog and towards the very spot that they needed to protect. That was when he made a decision to split, but he would be certain that Mizuki did not lose or have to fight alone.

He formed the hand seals and a clone appeared before the real Toru disappeared into the mist, towards the leader's scent signature.

"Just don't be near if I get destroyed." The clone relayed very quietly before Mizuki disappeared to attack their enemies head on, particularly with an intense water bullet assault. The clone would stay back and wait for the results, though he did draw one of his katanas with the intention of being ready to defend or assault as necessary once the water bullet had either killed or dispersed the enemies that had made a formation.

This was not their first rodeo, but this was not Toru's first either. The clone remained away still hidden in the mist, waiting.

The real Toru was quick, and silent on his feet as he approached the scent that had gotten away from the two of them. And for better or worse the Mizukage was not afraid to come out of nowhere - quite literally - with an attack right to the mans neck, drawing his blade quickly with a beheading technique that was meant to be swift, silent and immediate. If the man was under the impression that he had pulled one over on them and did not have his guard up, this would be an easy enemy to put down.

Of course, the boy leader was not so quick to dismiss his enemies, but he could always hope for a quick battle - or lack thereof.

Katon Kage Bunshin & Iagiri

The pair of Shinobi split up, with Toru leaving behind a Katon clone to work with Mizuki as he chased after Kyogi, who was moving rather quickly.

With Mizuki and the clone, the Houzuki’s attacks landed with rather spectacular effect; the first water bullet slammed into the unsuspecting lead man, piercing his flesh as it tore a hole clean through his chest, blowing him over but not killing him outright. The second was more lucky than his counterpart, as the ninja shifted at the last moment, causing the shot to slam into his left arm, shattering the bone but leaving him still able to fight.

"Contact, front point!” The injured man yelled, panting as he scanned the mist for any sign of their enemy. His two remaining companions began to form hand seals, the one at the back of the formation forming five seals before expelling a great quantity of Futon form his mouth, blowing away the mist in front of the group for a good thirty meters, while the one on the right side of the formation used a similar amount of seals before spewing forth a ring of rapidly rotating fire that sped towards the (now revealed) pair of Kiri-nin. "Futon: Daitoppa! Katon: Hibashiri!”

As for Kyogi, Toru would find him a rather easy man to follow, but a very difficult man to kill, as his Iaigiri cut through nothing but air, his ears alerting him to the slice just in time to roll out of the way of the cut. He whirled around as he rolled, coming face to face with the man who had attacked him, his chakra unspooling from its suppressed state as his hands slammed together forming two hand seals. His chakra burst out, laying a simple but effective Genjutsu on Toru with the first hand seal before he exploded back in a Shunshin with the second, cursing. "Loud little fucker…”

By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

A variation of the technique involves a smaller blast of wind which gets ignited with flame.

Mizuki couldn't afford to waste any time as they watched their water bullets find their marks, now wasn’t the time to respond to Toru it was the time to continue the attack. The mist acted as their ally, shrouding their movements and attacks in secrecy. The enemy was far from perceptive and their formation fell into chaos as they realized the deadly threat from an unseen adversary. The injured bandit's warning alerted the remaining members, and they responded swiftly with jutsu of their own.

As the Futon jutsu cleared the mist, revealing Mizuki and the clone, they knew that this was their cue to act. The real Mizuki, not far from the wounded enemy, decided to capitalize on the chaos. With fluid grace, they lunged forward, taking advantage of the bandits' disarray. The fact that someone would run towards a jutsu that would leave deadly burns on a normal individual would likely confuse them a little at first.

As the fire jutsu raced towards Mizuki and Toru’s clone, the Hozuki's quick reflexes and mastery of their hijutsu came into play. With an almost graceful transformation, they morphed their body into a shapeless, flowing blob of water that would pass through the jutsu. The intense heat from the incoming flames washed over them harmlessly as they effortlessly passed through the fiery obstacle in their watery state. The hope was that their contact with the jutsu would quench the flames, but these things were difficult to properly judge sometimes.

Emerging on the other side of the flames, Mizuki promptly resumed their human form, steam rising from their body due to the immense heat of the jutsu they had just passed through. They were definitely feeling their thirst build up as they started their attack, but they would need to find time after their assault to take a drink. Their focus remained unwavering as they put their right hand onto Samehada's hilt and channeled their wind chakra into the sheath of their sword and finished closing the distance to the right bandit, initiating the potent jutsu known as Baasuto [Burst]. In a mere heartbeat, Mizuki drew their sword with their right hand, and it erupted from its sheath with astonishing velocity. The blade cleaved through the hot air, a lethal streak aimed directly at the rightmost bandit in the formation. Their intent was clear – to eliminate this threat with swiftness and precision. Their left hand that was free formed into the shape of a gun again, and promptly shot another water bullet at the man that had managed to escape the first assault with just an injured arm. They aimed their bullet at the man’s heart, hoping that the point blank nature of it would make the attack just as difficult to dodge as the last.

Their close nature would of course open them up to retorts and attacks from the other bandits, but one was badly injured and they had Toru’s clone acting as their backup. In the event they were dumb enough to attack the clone, given Toru’s warning it’d likely take the bandit out with them.

Samehada earns its namesake for having properties akin to a shark's skin: it is incredibly durable and flexible due to its affinity with the Hydrification technique. As far as appearance goes, Samehada is a slightly shorter katana built with Mizuki's slender frame in mind; the curved blade is about 58cm in length and made from a simple chakra treated steel. Its tsuka has an intricately designed grip wrapped in darkened leather with a length of around 28cm. The pommel features engravings and a small gemstone. Near the base of the blade, there is a large, azure crystal that dangles from a small string attached to the kashira. The sword itself appears to be relatively unremarkable, but it is built specifically with the Hozuki's strengths and weaknesses in mind.

As a result, this sword can be utilized with compatible elemental jutsu. When wind chakra is funneled into the blade for Hien specifically, it encapsulates the sword emanating from the guard. This wind chakra reduces air resistance allowing the sword to cut more quickly and silently; but most importantly it blankets the weapon, protecting from Raiton chakra, allowing it to clash with similarly enhanced raiton weapons or to be utilized with Ittoryu: Kiretsu [One Sword Style: Crack] to cut apart raiton ninjutsu.

The clone and Mizuki were not revealed to open air, but the clone was not simply standing there when the fire came. It moved, leaping over the ring of fire circumventing it to get away from the chance of being struck, but it was not just leaping into the air it was leaping and moving towards the men that had survived the initial attack. It was quick to unsheathe a katana, and acted as a distraction for if the men were paying to it and trying to counter the clone they would not see Mizuki's incoming attacks. Worse yet, they would not have time to react as the clone performed a spinning technique that would unleash a flurry of blows from up above for the men to try and counter...

Of course if they made the mistake of knicking the clone at all, they would be caught up in a literal hellfire of an explosion that would likely put them out of commission immediately.

Toru laid his eyes on the visual trigger briefly, but it was enough for him to fall for it. A strange feeling came over him, chakra intruding into his body which infuriated him, but also infuriated the beast locked inside of him. He took one step forward, the feeling reminding him of a ship, he had to re-adjust and find his sea legs. It did not help that everything was going in and out.

He let out a breath, at least they were still in the mist and he performed a few hand seals with his hand lax near his side while other held the sword ready to react... Though it seemed the man was backing off, he was going to put him in a world of hurt. A dispersion of another layer of mist came then, after which Toru would start to move forward. Still under the genjutsu, but adjusting with every step reminding him of the times he had spent on a ship.

Toru was clearly not just quick to react, but had the straightforward speed to catch up with the man - as he had no issue doing so before - and his ability to smell him out kept him grounded in the area as chased and once he got close enough, he would perform another set of hand seals with his one hand before placing his palms to the ground in an attempt to lock the man in place and not allow him to escape any longer.

Using the the mist jutsu as a base the user of this jutsu will disperse a mist like rain into a specific area, the mist like rain is not as thick as regular mist and can be seen through by those with above average visual ability. However this jutsu is not meant to impair vision as it is made to disrupt chara of those within the jutsu's influence this makes it harder for any chakra that is not the same as the users chakra signature to become weakened once it has become exposed. This causes jutsu to fail unless the user uses much more chakra then they usually do in order to counteract the disruption (making jutsu that have a Low chakra usage cost require a medium chakra usage cost in order to succeed). Also because the jutsu is mist and rain as well as the fact that it disrupts chakra fire jutsu does not work while this jutsu is active. Also attempting to successfully use a jutsu that already has a Very High chakra cost could be very dangerous and potentially fatal.

After three hand-seals, the user will slap both hands on the ground and summon an intricate spherical seal on the ground, ten meters in diameter, with the user at the epicenter. They will be stuck in place until the seal is broken, which can be achieved by destroying the ground it is summoned on. People who were not inside the range can move over the surface of the seal once it's been summoned without any issue.

There were few things more annoying than persistence. Kyogi glanced behind him as he moved, still carrying a good deal of momentum from his Shunshin; he couldn’t see through the mist, but he could hear Toru’s steps, stumbling but getting better as he followed, clearly not willing to give up just yet. They had traveled a fair distance though, nearly two hundred meters from the point where Mizuki and Toru’s clone fought. Don’t have time for this. The man thought, forming a single hand seal as he heard the other man approach, a shadow clone forming behind him as he put on a burst of speed, Fuuton chakra pulsing through his legs.

The clone charged, forming several hand seals as it headed towards the source of the noise it heard… only to freeze in place, caught in the boy Kage’s trap. Still, the clone managed to finish its jutsu in time, its chakra flying out in a twenty-five meter diameter sphere, filling the Mizukage’s vision with softly falling feathers of the brightest white which, when combined with the queasy, uneven dizziness already affected the teen, would begin to put him to sleep in rapid fashion, though he had a moment or two to react, if he was careful. "Nehan Shōja no Jutsu.”

As for Mizuki and the Katon Clone, their combined efforts had a powerful effect on the group of bandits they were fighting, particularly the one in the back.pPnic set into his mind, and as the Katon clone and the Houzuki out maneuvered their attacks, cutting down one of his comrades in a flash while blasting through the heart of another with some sort of ranged jutsu, he acted, forming a single hand seal as he screamed in terror… and activated the scores of explosive tags that had been strapped to each man’s chest, causing them to go off all at once (and with them, Toru’s Katon clone) in a massive ball of fire and wind that shook the mountain with its force.

Final mook in the back activated the suicide vests each man was wearing, triggering 80 explosive tags at once (20 per man), killing himself and dispersing Toru's Katon clone, which *adds* to the explosion.

As the chaos and carnage unfolded before them, Mizuki couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and concern. Their coordinated efforts with the Katon Clone had yielded significant results, particularly in dealing with the bandits. However, the situation had taken a grim turn as one of the remaining foes resorted to a desperate and catastrophic measure.

Panic had evidently taken hold of the bandit in the back, and it would definitely slow Mizuki down a bit. With a single hand seal, he triggered a multitude of explosive tags that had been affixed to his and his comrades' chests. The result was a catastrophic explosion, a thunderous blast of fire and wind that echoed through the mountainside.

Mizuki's instincts kicked in immediately, transforming into a blob of water to avoid damage from the concussive force. The sheer force of the explosion, however, would propel them backward and split them apart into miniscule droplets. The echo of the blast rippled through the terrain, shaking the very foundations of the mountain. The loss of Toru's Katon Clone, while unfortunate, would at least feed the information back to Toru that the job here was done.

While the dust and smoke began to settle, Mizuki would quickly reform back into their human form as the droplets converged on a single location. The young Hozuki grabbed the water bottle at their hip and began chugging away at the contents as they scanned the aftermath and immediate vicinity with a wary eye. The situation had undoubtedly changed, and their mission had taken an unexpected turn. The explosive climax of the battle here had shaken the mountains, and the true extent of the damage and its implications remained uncertain.

It would be unwise for them to leave the camp, since it was their mission to protect it, so instead a simple Water balloon clone would split from their main body as they continued to replenish their fluids. Once the clone was fully formed it would take off towards Toru and the enemy. Given the amount of distance that had been put between them it would take the clone a moment to arrive at this second battlefield and call out to Toru, "The camp is secure, so I sent a clone for support just in case.” Of course, the clone was proclaiming this loud enough for both Toru and the enemy to hear, but Mizuki was largely unaware of the state of this battlefield.

Mizuki wasn’t sure how much support Toru would need, given that they were the kage, but it was definitely better to send help than just assume he’d be completely fine.

This wind chakra reduces air resistance allowing the sword to cut more quickly and silently; but most importantly it blankets the weapon, protecting from Raiton chakra, allowing it to clash with similarly enhanced raiton weapons or to be utilized with Ittoryu: Kiretsu [One Sword Style: Crack] to cut apart raiton ninjutsu.

By Default Conductive Grants the user these effects when elemental chakra is channeled through.

Katon – The metal becomes warmer to the touch, not devastating effects but painful.
Fūton – Allows more buoyancy and lightness to be swifter in small degrees.
Suiton – Flexible and absorbs a minuscule amount of impact.
Raiton – A slight enhancement to sharp edges as well as developing some static.
Doton – Small increase in weight and durability.

Toru locked the man in place and then through scent alone locked onto his real target at a distance, performing body flicker to almost instantaneously get out of the range of the genjutsu that was being cast in the moment. This would leave the clone locked in place while Toru pursued the real thing. Didn't matter though because the clone was using up chakra from the main source as well and it was doubly draining with the mist technique making everything more straining to cast. That had been Toru's intent, if he was dealing with a genjutsu user, he would need to make their genjutsu hard to control and unusable at some point...

He caught his footing at his arrived in place, his body erupting with red chakra which also - unsurprisingly - cancelled the genjutsu he was originally under. The red shroud morphed and shot forward, chakra arms moving blisteringly fast - and more or less silently - towards the man, aiming to grab and slam into the ground hard. If that didn't work, the arms would more or less continue to chase the man in great multitude. Toru chasing after him with a new found unwavering resolve. Though the resolve was there before, it was clear that without the genjutsu effecting his movements he was a great deal more capable.

Then Mizuki or a clone arrived, but Toru didn't quite move his attention off of the target.

"Then help me take him out," He stated evenly, not shouting but it would be enough for Mizuki to hear and his target to hear. If he wasn't knocked out from the original impact from the chakra arms.

The clone would in its last moments attempt to grab Mizuki and catapult them far away from the explosion, enough to avoid insane damage to the watery structure of the Hozuki. The clone itself though? Toast. Adding to the overall explosion.

Kyogi had exactly half a second to react before Toru’s chakra arms slammed into him, his enhanced senses giving him no help as they grabbed him from behind without a sound, lifted him up, and pummeled him into the ground, hard enough to knock the breath from his lungs and crack the rocks below. Off in the distance, he heard the sound of the decoy unit’s explosive tags going off, his breathing labored and unsteady as he struggled against the strange chakra limbs, unable to break free- and then smiled in spite of himself, his clone dissipating with a thought.

"Well, looks like I’m got.” He said, no longer struggling, his skin uncomfortable at the strange, red chakra’s heat. Was it steaming, almost? The fact that the boy (and he couldn’t have been more than eighteen) hadn’t outright killed him said he might have a chance at living through this-provided, of course, the man’s companion hadn’t been killed in the blast. "Don’t suppose that means you’ll be keeping me prisoner, does it?”

As for Mizuki, the Houzuki would not sense anything with their sensory abilities beyond the odd flash of residual chakra from the explosion, though their water supply was deeply depleted, and it would take several more swings from their bottle to restore them to full. Still, there seemed to be no enemies about, and nothing else had happened, so both Shinobi were free to do as they liked… for the time being.

Kyogi has been successfully captured by Toru's chakra arms, and is not attempting to flee! Toru may interrogate him if he so wishes, or he may try to eliminate him. Mizuki survives the explosion, but their water reserves are severely depleted, and they will need to drink from their bottle for Two more rounds before they return to normal!
