The first floor had this reception hall, or rather a welcoming hall where all of these kinds of things were initiated. Once she entered the first floor the receptionist saw An, and smiled. She had known An was coming, but it was nice to see the girl. The shinobi who sat behind the desk knew enough about the examination to have a bit of worry for her performance, or really anyone's performance. It was not uncommon for students to give up or beg to be spared on the island in some regard.

The majority would be returned to the academy for further instruction, some quit entirely. It was not meant to be easy, because easy did not make good shinobi.

"Over there," He spoke and pointed towards the double doors that led to the main welcoming hall where students were annually welcomed into the academy and also exited upon graduation.

If An moved towards the doors and opened them, she would enter a very large room fit for many hundreds of people to be in. But there was only one besides herself. A young man in all white stood towards the back center just behind a table. On the table there was a scroll, and a grey headband with a metal piece on it emblazoned with the Kirigakure symbol - neatly folded.

Toru's back was facing to An but he heard the door open and would turn quietly to face the girl... He didn't say a word though.

An entered the welcoming hall, the anticipation hanging in the air. The vast room, designed to accommodate a multitude, now stood as a solitary stage for her moment of recognition. The receptionist's smile offered a reassuring nod, acknowledging the shared understanding of the challenges faced on the island.

Directed toward the double doors leading to the heart of the hall, An approached with a mix of curiosity and reverence. The room, usually bustling with the energy of numerous students, held a different atmosphere today—one of quiet accomplishment.

As she stepped through the doors, her gaze fell upon the figure at the back center, a young man clad in pristine white. The next thing that caught An's eyes was lying on the table just near the man - a distinctive grey headband that bore the insignia of Kirigakure, a symbol of both unity and the path that lay ahead, and a scroll.

An approached Toru with a respectful bow, a gesture of acknowledgment for the Mizukage's presence. As she straightened, her eyes met Toru's, and she greeted him with a somehow calm and polite, "Konnichiwa, Mizukage-sama." Though inside she was a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Excited because finally, she was one step closer to her dream of being a shinobi and making her family and her nation proud and nervous because she had no idea what the path ahead lay.

For example, An can hide in things like trees, shrubs and roots, soil, and so on. Once fused, not only is her presence completely hidden and only felt by those with chakra recognition, but it also allows her to travel within the subterranean web of organic matter.

An can grow, shape, and manipulate all forms of fungi, including but not limited to yeasts and mold, along with poisonous and non-poisonous mushrooms, thanks to the Gurē clan's chakra and genetic makeup. An has the ability to grow fungi on just about any surface. Because An’s genetic makeup is more similar to that of fungi than that of humans, she can use techniques based on Fungi anatomy, such as secretions or enzymes from various Fungi. She can easily generate or grow any part of a Fungi's anatomy from her own body by using chakra to further alter her own cells. Finally, because these techniques are made from her own cells or bodily fluids, such as converting her saliva into a specific Fungi secretion, An is immune to their effects.

Toru kept his gaze leveled on An, it was not a menacing look but a stoic one. Those who knew the Mizukage well, knew that he was not one to show emotion even in the best of times. So there he stood, his hands clasped behind his back awaiting An's approach. She bowed and he acknowledged her with a simple nod of his head. Though he did take note that she had greeted him rather casually, it was not common to simply say 'hello' to him in such a manner. Perhaps she was not well versed in such manners. Toru knew of the Gure clan - as he did most clans in the village - but he was uncertain of their customs since they were on the smaller side in comparison to some others.

"Your examination went well," He would begin, evenly. "You showed your ability to perform what the academy was meant to teach you, as well as a resilience in the face of real danger."

This was when his gaze slowly lowered to the nicely folded headband on the table. He reached out with his right hand, pushing it towards An but still keeping it pristine. It would not do any good to leave his fingerprints on something that was not his. It was newly made, newly minted, it was for her to wear and cherish.

"Here, the pride of all true shinobi. An opportunity to protect your village and nation. Represent it well." Once she took the headband he would pick up the scroll, pulling it apart seamlessly to read what was inside.

"You are being assigned to Genin Team Two. Though at any time it is possible you may change teams or teammates. Furthermore, your new shinobi identification number that is printed here on this scroll: 13-23-27. Carry this scroll with you so that you may be properly identified when necessary."

Toru would put the scroll back together carefully to hand over to An.

"I am certain you wish to go celebrate with your family. Remember this is an honor and you should not squander it. It can be taken from you as easily as I have stood here now and given it."

An listened attentively as Toru spoke, his words carrying the weight of authority and expectations. When he acknowledged her performance and resilience, An felt a sense of accomplishment. She took the scroll from Toru, handling it respectfully as he emphasized the significance of the rank bestowed upon her.

"I understand, Mizukage-sama. I will strive to prove myself worthy of this honor," An affirmed, her tone reflecting a blend of determination and respect. She bowed once again, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity given to her. The journey ahead was challenging, but An was ready to embrace her role as a genin and contribute to the protection of Kirigakure.
