"In a way...I kinda hope that with him just being part of the council, he'll have less time to drift into his thoughts and more time for the paints...hell...maybe he and mom will take a page from us and go on a trip somewhere..." Shrugging her shoulders, Arashi would look back at the plate and consider the possibilities. Honestly, with as much time as she may have complained about her father, he was still a good man. He did what he could to protect so many people, so to have a break from that responsibility to just be with his family was probably both daunting for him and conflicting. But, she imagined her mother would keep him busy, and Takefusa would get a chance to see their dad more than she or Set ever did. Allowing herself to be drawn back to the moment, she'd smile as she then looked once more toward Asahi and then noted the postcard box in his hand. "Heh heh...Thanks...I think your folks will like the postcards...If nothing else, it will let them remember all the places they've been...I heard memories are the best gift of all..." As she grinned in Asahi's direction, she'd nod toward his offer of them perhaps taking their finds and buying them before they began to completely take over the shop. At this point, if Arashi remained here any longer, she'd probably be tempted to consider buying the store itself. A small investment at least, but probably one that would bankrupt her in the long run. Once they had divided the costs, having added more bags to their possession, Arashi would walk outside with a sigh, holding a few of them before glancing over to the side. There was brief sight of chaos close by, one being with a figure being led off by the militia with the overhead heard screams of seeing a woman made of sand who startled him into running away. Of course, as a quick way to avoid further observation, Arashi would sheepishly look back to Asahi, moving to block his view of the scene and to hopefully distract from it. "Soooo...my shopping urge is sated...Ya said something early bout a hotel right? We should probably start making her way there to deposit all this..."

"A break would definitely be good for him, I can't imagine dealing with shinobi stuff and politics for as long as he has." Asahi replied. Part of him believed that being on the council was probably of Takato-san's own doing as he couldn't just sit around all day doing nothing after having done something for years and years, and while everyone knew the man needed a break who was realistically going to tell him no? Not anyone the Kyokujitsu could think of, well, Kasumi-san probably could have but outside of her no one was going to tell the former Kazekage he couldn't be part of the village in whatever capacity he wanted. But it made sense considering his years of service and relationship building that would be pivotal into moving Suna forward.

"Has he ever taken a vacation? It's kind of hard to imagine him laid out with one of those drinks with the silly little umbrella in it." Asahi mused aloud. For Takato it would no doubt be a trip to some ancient library or historical ruin of some sort, something that still got the gears of the mind turning.

With all their purchases made sights were set on getting to the hotel so they could put down their bags and take a load off before dinner, and thankfully nothing in this city was too far away from each other. "Yep, it's not too far from here actually." He replied beginning to lead the way. The hustle and bustle of the market stalls would soon give way to quieter streets and larger buildings until the entrance of the hotel came into view. It was a beautiful sandstone building with the interior of the first floor lined in marble and various desert dwelling flora and art. Asahi hadn't given any thought to how much it had cost to stay here since initially finding out because for starters there was nothing he could do about it, but also the two of them deserved something nice given all the work they had put in over the last couple of years.

After getting checked in the two would be shown to their room: a beautiful sweet on the second floor with a balcony that gave a tremendous view of the ocean. There was plenty of furniture and a sizable bathroom to give all the feels of home and an overall feel of relaxation could be felt in every corner of the room. "This is better than they described it."

The question of if her father had ever taken a vacation remained unanswered as the young woman shrugged her shoulders with a calm expression. Considering it was her dad, she imagined that such a thing was impossible for a number of reasons. The major one being that by the time he had any free time to himself, he was looking after two individuals, herself included in those numbers. Along with that, the birth of her brother and the safe keeping of the Third Kazekage. Which, was also during the outbreak of war. Had he managed some time for himself, it was likely that it was limited to only the few hours he had when he arrived at home. What followed after was his position changing to that of the village leader, and Asahi was more than aware of how his schedule was after that. If not, it was mostly him coming home late, too tired to do much of anything. It was strange when she imagined how many hours he had to himself during his period of leadership. How he managed to keep himself sane was likely from years of training and self-control. Be it her in his position, she'd probably have managed to blow up the village ten times over due to the stress. Perhaps it was the grounding focus that came with having a family...and a loving wife... -------------------- Following behind him, they'd eventually arrive at their temporary lodging, prompting Arashi to mouth a silent curse at the extensive nature of it. Granted, many locations within the area were similar in stature or appearance, but her experience and lifestyle growing up allowed her to know grandeur when she saw it. Or at least the appearance of it. Once taken to their room, the sweet presented to them granted even more of such displays as the second floor balcony gave way to a view that could envy even a lord at the third floor. "Wow....." Her expression was calm in saying this, soon walking in after Asahi as she set the bags in her possession down, noting the size of the living quarters and then leaning back as she took a glance at the room sized bathroom. Moving around the furnished space, she'd make her way to the balcony as she leaned outward and took in the view personally. The wind grazed her face as she could see the previous explored marketplace below, along with the various other locations they had yet to see. She'd note the position of the beach and laugh before closing her eyes to take in the air around her. "Classy...and probably expensive...." As she glanced behind her to check to see if the clerk had left, she'd then lean against the banister as she held a blank expression. "If this is ya being intentional...consider intent noted...slightly confused but noted..." It at the very least showed how much he was willing to show in regards to their time, and the value it held to him that they both enjoy it to the best of their abilities. It was just shocking to see such an extent being made for her independently. Though, it was possible she was overthinking it as she then held one hand to her chest as she looked around the displays with a calm expression. "Kami's balls this place is beautiful...."

With all the aquatic exploring and market perusing they had done Asahi was elated to finally get off his feet for a bit as he plopped down on the couch in the main living area. He recalled certain missions that hadn't required as much movement as the two had done today but it was a fun experience none the less. Granted, the man was still thinking up ways to get out of wearing that silly costume Arashi had tricked him into not only trying on but buying --maybe it'd get lost on the way back home-- but there'd be time to finalize a plan later; for now, it was just taking in the views.

"Confused? How so?" The Kyokujitsu questioned. Years ago he had talked about being more intentional with the time they spent together, and this trip was definitely a part of that line of thinking. Sure, the hotel may have been a bit on the pricey side but it was more than worth it in Asahi's eyes. Being a shinobi meant that most places one stayed during prolonged missions weren't the best and often included just the cold hard ground so getting away from that was something that was also on the forefront of his mind, yet Arashi was perplexed at the gesture.

"I mean, I'm sure there's a hostel or something in the not so great part of town that we could stay at instead if this is too much." He was half joking but if Arashi was uncomfortable with the accommodations then changes could be made. Honestly, he just wanted to get to the bottom of the woman's confusion and go from there.

"Ya make jokes but between the two of us...only one of us could probably handle that living situation... A smirk crossed her lips as she then found herself glancing to the side. It wasn't a level of comfortability, more so of what it might imply... This was a new step in their relationship and even she could see that his intent on making the most of it was clear. Which was fine, because that was what she wanted. But even she felt that this was a major change in everything. Which, had always been a thing for her...change... Though in seeing how she might actually just be overthinking this, Arashi would then begin to move back inside, her hand resting at the side of her head in the form of a fist as she hit it against the surface. "I'm just overthinkin....which is what I shouldn't be doing as it usually just leads to disaster in more ways than one..." That said, the young woman would then place her hand against her hip, once again look around as she smiled. "It's just so....romantic...almost like one of my novels....the good ones...not the ones that dwell on the details of the room and every aspect of it to the point where ya just want to scream at the author to get to the point....which...I feel like I'm doing right now..." Closing her eyes, she'd then allow herself to take a deep breath before then shaking her head. "Sorry...its nothin...like I said...I'm just....being a girl who is in a room with a boy she greatly loves and I'm going over every possible mistake that can be made in this moment and not wanting to make them..."

So it wasn't the accommodations but instead Arashi's overactive imagination that had her feeling some type of way. The room reminded her of one of those novels that couldn't be read in public that left her thoughts running wild about what was supposed to happen next which... well, Asahi would have been lying if he said he hadn't thought about it but part of the reason he picked this place for their vacation was due to the amount of stuff there was to do that would distract him from being alone in a super romantic room with Arashi. The optics and feelings of the scenario were not lost on him but the man had been nervous enough while planning all of this so he was trying his hardest to just be chill.

"Oh.. I see." Asahi replied a bit unsure of how to calm an overactive imagination and quell the uneasiness that his girlfriend was feeling. "Well, I'd offer just getting that part out of the way if that would help but we'd probably miss dinner, so just think of it as us just hanging out like we've been doing for years." Years... it really had been that long since the two had happened upon each other in the Suna market and got tossed around by that out of control sand clone.

They had gone through ups and downs, periods of like and dislike, agreements and arguments all the same but the constant through all these years was that they had remained friends and it was the foundation for everything the two had built upon it, so while Asahi was perhaps just as nervous in this situation as the woman across from him that is what he told himself to calm his nerves: they were friends just hanging out, and it was hard to be nervous around a friend.

Moment Music "Ya do?" Raising her brow, Arashi would look toward Asahi with a blank expression, her hand resting upon her hip in hearing him seem to comment that he did see where she was coming from. It was a bit of a surprise, since he seemed so calm and collected. Of course, it was Asahi so usually between the two of them, he was the most level headed. Though he offer at understanding seemed to come with the alternative of just considering everything as though it were normal. After all, with what they've been through, this wasn't something that had just started out with instant attraction. It grew from a friendship. Plus, it seemed that if they had taken this time to try and discuss it, they would be late for dinner. "Right! Duh! Yea! Totally...way easier when lookin at it that way..Heh heh.." Holding a sheepish grin, Arashi would then begin to move past him as she brushed her hair from her face began to reach for her bag. "So then...I'll...get ready in the bathroom and I should only be a sec...then we can head out!..." That said, Arashi would make her way backwards into the large bathing room, her expression still holding a grin as she then closed the door as she waited for it to be shut before releasing a silent breath. Friends hangin out...I can do that...ignore the suite and the glimore..its just me and Asahi hangin out like usual....no biggie... With that thought in mind, Arashi would look at her reflection in the mirror, finding herself reaching into her bag as she drew out an outfit. Then another...then another...and then another... Fuck...the one time I don't bring slacks...thanks Mom... Rolling her eyes, she'd then see the other arrangement of outfits and then decided to finally go with one. Well..it isn't like I can't play dress up for a bit longer... Keeping that in mind, Arashi would then begin to run the water within the bathroom as she prepared for the process of getting herself together.

Asahi was unsure if his words had really worked to calm Arashi's nerves or if the thought of missing out on dinner was enough incentive to drop the subject for the time being, but either way it at least sounded like she wasn't overthinking things as much. Watching her slowly creep into the bathroom the Kyokujitsu could only offer a small chuckle as the door closed leaving the two to their own devices. How were they still so nervous around each other after all this time? They had done missions -- both sanctioned and otherwise-- together, trained together, a host of other things together yet he still had butterflies whenever Arashi was near. With that said Asahi figured he had matured somewhat over the years since the younger him would have no doubt been a sweaty mess during that last conversation.

But that was the past and being in his head over about what a younger him would have done was taking away his opportunity to enjoy the present, which currently included getting himself ready for dinner. Even though he may have seemed calm and stoic in the moment Asahi had been a nervous wreck when it came to picking an outfit for dinner. Clothes for the beach and loungewear were simple enough, but he specifically wanted to look nice and be comfortable for where they were going which required more thought. He hardly had need for such clothes in the middle of the desert back in Suna and while there were oasis that dotted the area it didn't require much different clothing, either.

Pulling a few items from his bag and laying them on the bed allowed Asahi to visualize himself in them and after a few minutes of thinking things through he settled on a long sleeve light blue linen shirt and a pair of cream colored slacks. It was a perfect combination of fashion and function with the fabric being light enough to still let the skin breathe without being too casual. Taking a moment to roll the sleeve up to his elbows the man made his way in front of a mirror to make sure he looked as good as he thought he did, though final say on the matter would be Arashi's reaction.

Eyes on Me With the amount of time it took for Asahi to firmly decide on what he was going to wear, Arashi had managed to at least get herself clean enough so that she wouldn't be a possible danger with sand rushing out from her pores. It was always a challenge when your very being seemed to draw dust, but Arashi had managed to come to terms with this issue over the years. It was what allowed for her to appear at least someone clean by appearance. Still, the task allow made the effort just as tedious on occasion. But if she to preach the idea of having a life outside of being a Jinchuuriki, she had better well walk it. As she continued to make herself presentable, she'd stop short of going for her previous choice, thinking over the possible conflict that may come with looking too causal. Of course, considering that the mind-set was just to be hanging out, it wouldn't be that much of a bad thing right? Though, as doubt seeped in, so did her own thoughts on how this was supposed to be a relaxing time for both her and Asahi. Meaning, she didn't need to be in her head so much. This wasn't something that should even be an issue as she trusted Asahi completely. Her own past aside, he had done nothing to make her feel insecure of anything about herself. Worried as he may have been at times, he had enough confidence in her to indulge much of her crazy antics. So why wasn't it so simple? Why was it that she could fight bandits, monsters, deadly shinobi and wild animals with ease, but when it came to Asahi, she felt like she was fighting every poor thought she ever had about herself? Did she feel like she wasn't good enough? There was probably some truth to that thought....but not tonight...or at least...not right now anyway... As she finished getting ready, the young woman would finally emerge from the bathroom, her hands resting at her sides as she then leaned against the entrance with a blank expression. Looking him over as he appeared to be checking himself within the mirror, the Jounin would raise her brow with a shocked expression as her mouth open part ways. It took her three seconds to realize she was staring, though another lapses after she realized her mouth was hanging open. "Wow..ya look...dashing..." Arashi's own appearance was certainly a far cry from the normal beach ware she had donned previously. While she clearly had managed to keep the hair from her attempt at cosplay, her garment was that of a light red dress, the fabric crossing the length of her shoulder holding it upon her form as she then pulled away from the wall as she moved toward him. The slight glimmer of the golden collar across her neck, complimented by the almost adorned Saeko earrings left her feeling somewhat overdressed. "And here I was worried that the costume had just been hiding it...ya definitely have trimmed up..." Winking at him, Arashi would begin to make her way toward the door as she then nodded her head to it with a smirk while moving strands of hair behind her left ear. "So...ready?" Behind her smile was definitely a bundle of nerves ready to burst, she like she had reminded herself. It was fine to play dress up tonight. Not to mention that as Asahi had said...this was just two friends...going to hang out in a new setting...nothing weird to overthink about. SPOILER: Click to show

With the door to the bathroom opening Asahi was expecting to hear something to do with his appearance but for what felt like an eternity there was only silence which prompted Asahi to turn and look towards Arashi only to see her mouth agape in... shock? Awe? Honestly it was tough to tell though as he looked at the flowing red dress she was wearing it was a wonder they weren't looking at each other like two fish out of water gasping for air. She had always been beautiful but it definitely shone through when she was wearing something other than the typical shinobi outfit.

While his darker complexion may have hidden the red on his cheeks from the compliment Asahi could definitely feel his face getting warmer. "T-Thanks, just a little something I came across in the market one day." He replied while nodding at the fact that he hadn't, in fact, been putting on weight after all.

"I guess this is what they mean by devil in a red dress... er, not that you're a devil or anything but because of the... y'know.. anyway you look amazing but yeah I'm ready to go." Asahi thought himself a bit of a jokester but in the middle of his delivery it dawned on him that maybe bringing up the biju probably wasn't a good idea. After all that preaching about just being normal and the Kyokujitsu was still tripping over himself.

The walk from their hotel to the restaurant took the duo past a lovely little street where seemingly every door and windowsill was decorated in some colorful fashion akin to a very descriptive page out of a novel and every step further solidified the fact that they were a far cry from the usual streets of Suna. "You'd think being the closest big city to Sekara would make this place drab, but you'd never think there was a cesspool not too far away by the looks of things." Asahi mused aloud. He truly was impressed by how the citizens of Oetsu made this place feel so alive. Granted, it could have been them leaning into the tourist motif as well but whatever the cause this place looked amazing.

A turn here and there would bring into view a rather peculiar looking building that was made of sandstone like all the others around in the city yet was adorned with various netting and other fishing accouterment to really drive home the point that this was a seafood restaurant. As they entered the inside of the place it may as well have been a brand new world as the interior was hardwood everything and extended well into the shore with an open sides and even a cutout in the floor with a clear view of fish who had congregated hoping for a free, easy meal.

After checking in with the hostess Asahi and Arashi were led to a seaside table that overlooked the shore and a very keen eye would have spotted the beach they had visited quite a ways down the shoreline. The heat from the midday sun had tapered off some and combined with the breeze coming off of the water created a pleasant evening. "I guess they really meant it when they said ocean front dining."

It was interesting to see how both of them were struggling to find words at this moment. In fact, if she hadn't mustered enough of her senses to come up with at least a few, they'd probably still be staring at each other in awkward silence. Still, if his compliment had been any more jumbled, she'd probably have taken it the wrong way. Of course, being as Asahi had a usual knack for words, she'd just laugh lightly at his small glitch in wordplay as she tilted her head to the side. "Heh heh...yea I know....Thanks..." Looking down for a moment, she'd then cough into her hand as they seemed to be ready to go, prompting her to speak again as to quickly try and recover somewhat. "Honestly I'd probably only worn this once...don't really have much reason for dressin up ya know? Devilish isn't always a bad in between...Heh heh...haaa" This is sad to watch... Shut up... ----------------------- With the two now making their way down the streets of Ouetsu, the vibrant colors and decorations were enough to draw anyone's eye to the details and clear differences. Granted, it wasn't that far from a village that was known for it's criminal activity, but from the sight of things here, it was as if such a place didn't exist. Asahi even seemed to comment on it, prompting Arashi to nod as she released a sigh. "Truth is...with the amount of security that is placed out here, that isn't much of a surprise. The value of this place to most as a tourist trap or even a well known spot for relaxation makes it so they have more reason to defend it..." It was a sad truth to a pleasant difference. But the value was clear enough to see just by staring out at the ocean and even to the resorts that rested beside it. The market, the strip, everything screamed of it's importance to capital gains. "Lets face it....the only reason this place is not filled to the brim with bandits is because it produces capital...which goes back to Roran....and maybe a bit to Suna..." Gesturing to the side, Arashi would frown slightly before then rolling her eyes. "It's beautiful...don't get me wrong...but its kinda like it's basically a shell for everything else..." As she could hear people laughing along the coast, the duo would turn toward another street and there would be an adorned Sandstone building. With the bust of life from their surroundings and the clear view of the sea, it was no wonder people seemed to want not to think of just how close they were to a den of vipers. Not that it was a good thing, but it often was nice to dream... Being seated within, Arashi would smile as he looked around, noticing their view from the table as she then glanced back at the open view of the fish below the floorboards along the shore establishment. In hearing Asahi, she'd grin before glancing back toward the view with her gaze shifting towards him. "Dinner and a show....kinda hopin that a dolphin might pass by....though considering we're so close to shore...best bet we'd might see a pod at a distance..." Clasping her hands together, she'd then lean forward as she examined the sandstone around her, as well as the decor with a blank expression. "They really outdid themselves with this place..."
