The difference in their rankings made for a swift balance between both sides, it should be unheard of for a genin to match speeds with someone of his opponent's level. Little did one know of her true intention, for she was designed to eliminate. It wasn't supposed to be a fair fight. And it still wasn't, but sending someone with this much speed was unfair to a genin who couldn't react. In other words, her design was to severely cripple the genin, or simply to take them out. Reiki won't let her have it, not that easily.

What were the other genin doing? What did it matter? All that mattered was that there was only one true opponent he had to focus on, she was the difference between success and failure. With how much she threw at him, there was no way in hell she was designed to be a fair fight. She reacted to an attack that would have been impossible to react to without the assist of something boosting her. Considering the ability to match his speed, what surprise would there be in that?

And so they were caught in a lock. The impact could have been enhanced with the armor due to speed, but it wasn't so much with genuine strength. In turn, they were both even in speed. However, Reiki was lacking physical strength for the lock. Give it one second and Reiki would begin to buckle under the lock, forcing him to jump out of it, though that would bring him closer towards the divide between the first and second ring.

The flying blade would end up in sight, forcing him to leap yet again, this time the blade nearly striking him. Now he was on the first ring. Due to the element of surprise with the pressure of attacks from two angles, he could feel the blade lightly kiss his skin as it missed its mark. Barely, but that was WAY too close for comfort.

That psycho nearly got a stab in. But it was okay, Reiki just had to survive a bit longer and then he should be-

"Er..." And so the effects begin, a slight bit of blood would be coughed out from his lips. The negative trait of exhaustion and the armor. This needed to end quickly, because that's the least of what's to come if he continued to hold the armor up.

Now he needed to play defensively rather than go on the offense. Whatever he throws at her, she can retaliate. And he didn't feel like hurling more blood than he had to, so he needed to move as little as he needed to. The blade in his hand was ready to defend, but he had very little intent on attacking. His body wasn't going to let him. There's no way in hell he's not leaving this arena without a stretcher.

Enhanced Eyesight
The user's eyesight is heavily enhanced, even without the use of the Tennogan. The smallest details could be observed as if it were in front of the user should the distance between them not exceed 30 meters. Peripheral vision also seems as clear as if it were the main sight of focus.

Quickdraw
The user is far more aware of their surroundings, reflexes being enhanced a mighty amount. On top of this, their body is designed to be more swift and prepare to carry out quick tasks that the normal body may not be able to do in time. As the user learns more about physical combat, their movement speed and attack speed will be even more advanced. Though the difference is barely noticeable at the start, the gap between the user and an average ninja will grow tremendously.

Moderate Chakra Control
Reiki now understands how chakra flows and how to send it through the chakra points at a decent speed. On top of this, he minimizes the chakra burn when using his techniques to a point where he can last longer than the average shinobi of his level and give his techniques the maximum effectiveness in doing so.

DESCRIPTION:
The user wraps their body in a cloak of Raiton though not used offensively, the cloak is used to stimulate the users nervous system. Speeding up neural synapses to react faster, as well as pushing the users body to its absolute limit, allowing for tremendous physical fortitude. The increase in defense coming from the user using the cloak like an armor allowing them to brush off must B rank and lower Physical attacks, and A-rank and below Raiton techniques, and B-rank or lower elemental Ninjutsu attacks (C ranked if Fūton). Because of the nature of this stage being more defensive, an increase in speed is present but decreased a slight amount. though the fatigue and overexertion affects still apply.

Fatigue accumulates in this phase quickly and rather than being like the S-rank version in being used in bursts can be used ruminatively for a total of (10) ten rounds before death, each post exerting the user more than the last.

[Nōhime Ouritsu]

It was sometimes tough to tell if an attack that couldn't be seen by the naked eye actually hit its target, and this was especially true when it came to genjutsu. Ouritsu knew how to target a person, cast the technique --all the ins and outs-- but trying to gauge when or if his jutsu worked was still a bit iffy for him. However, the girl not moving an inch seemed like a pretty good indication that she was currently stuck in her own mind dealing with whatever horrendous sights she was currently experiencing.

Assuming that was the case it was now time for the follow up. He didn't have much time to work with considering how simple a genjutsu it was and there was no telling how skilled the girl was in dispelling genjutsu so it was best not to dilly dally. The easiest option would be to run up and try to push her off the edge, but that was assuming she wasn't in cahoots with the Suna-nin who was currently in a cloud of smoke doing who knew what. There was a good chance he was sitting in wait for someone to try and attack so they could immediately uneven the odds. This wasn't the best time for indecision but it also wouldn't be smart to rush in and immediately be overwhelmed.

So be it, if that ended up truly being the case then Ouritsu would simply have to use something that could hit them both should the need arise. A set of seals followed by the clasping of hands, within them a small cube beginning to form. The genin would expand his hands increasing the size of the cube until it was a little bigger than the size of his hands. He'd once again take aim at the girl --this time her midsection-- before loosing the cube hoping it'd hit its target. Assuming everything went well the genin would detonate the jinton chakra inside the cube hoping to disintegrate a good chunk of her side in the process.

While there were no rules against killing and he shouldn't have been holding back the young Nohime didn't really want to cause any major harm to the girl, just incapacitate long enough for her to fall off the platform harmlessly.

By increasing the containment chakra and limiting the Jinton chakra center the user of this jutsu can create a three dimensional shape (cube, cone, sphere, cylinder, etc) with a small Jinton chakra sphere within its center. Due to the lower than average Jinton chakra within the containment chakra this jutsu has the ability to disintegrate at the molecular level the affected area which will rend away at the most a pound of flesh, because of the nature of Jinton this is done very cleanly and quickly because the Jinton cauterizes the wound there is not an excessive amount of blood within the wound. This jutsu is weaker and slower than the original jutsu making it less effective but the lower chakra cost .

As he continued to pump out super heated Shakuton chakra Asahi hoped that his plan wasn't all in vain. He had so far not been faced with a counter which he attribute to the other genin not being too keen on fighting save the Kumo kid who was racing around for his life against the strange woman. By now anyone who had stayed in the radius of jutsu this long would be suffering from burns all over and any significant movement probably would have caught their clothes on fire.

The smoke from the seal would finally begin to dissipate allowing Asahi to finally get a view of the updated scene. Miho was still in the same position from earlier and seemed to be in agony of some sort though there didn't look to be anything physically wrong with her. The fast kid was still zipping around trying to fight the woman and while it was difficult to keep up with their movements the Suna genin was starting to see the boy just a bit more with each passing second. Strange. Finally, he'd focus on the purple haired kid from Iwa who had loosed some kind of transparent cube aimed at Miho. He had no idea what it was but knew getting anywhere near it was definitely a bad idea, though part of him wanted to at least try and help the girl from Konoha since she had helped him get through the second part of the exams. However, he had decided not to team up for this fight and switching things up now would only put them both in harms way.

He'd decide to end his jutsu and just keep an eye on the rest of the battlefield, especially the rings, as it was just about time for another ring to fall but it was hard to be certain with the clock being lifted high into the ceiling. Avoiding a fight so far hadn't been difficult even with a couple rings gone, but a third one would put the group in very close proximity with each other and it'd be near impossible to avoid trading blows.

Final Exam: Battle Royale A Battle Among Branches Etsuko despite her wind awareness wasn't the most keen to all things happening. Reiki's disengaging move and distancing would hint towards her entertainments end, but it'd not be clear enough to prevent her following actions. As he'd pull back, she'd go into a quick spin, as to not be encircled by the line of her trick weapon. However in the very same motion, she'd release the hand seal guiding the weapons ranged aspect. She'd free this hand with the immediate purpose of filling it again. Drawing three katana between the knuckles of her hand, she'd end the spin by throwing them at Reiki. One straight at him and one to each side of him. However, just as the weapon lefts her hands, she'd create a hand sign inhaling wind. Quickly after spitting it out after her swords, it'd encase each sword as they shot forward. The wind jutsu enhancing the cutting power, space in which the weapons would cut and speed that they propelled forward to some extent. It'd be after this that Etsuko caught the coughed up blood, he wasn't near the edge and wasn't engaging her immediately. Enough time was spent on the cloud shinobi, so her body would once again vanish. She'd quickly re-position to the stone shinobi, as he'd recently finished off his cube attack. A quick and powerful push being applied to his shoulder, as she'd attempt to shove him into the third ring. She'd disappear as the attack was made, then re-appear at the girls front as she'd shove this individual with as much force to send them to the same fate. Again her action a momentary appearance, as the smoke would split heading towards the sand shinobi. Thankfully for him her speed would betray her, as his jutsu wouldn't of been released yet. Instead just as she was getting into pushing range, her wind enhancement would ignite and thus damper it's effects. Starting at her hand the fire coursed around her whole body hiding her frame encased in an orange and red glory. She'd hop backwards throwing herself to the center of the ring while on fire, she'd count this reaction as an appropriate defense. The third ring was already falling from the main stage at this point. Meaning Miho and Ouritsu would have to do something smart or they'd be knocked out. As for Etsuko she'd seem to be consumed by the fire of her ignited wind jutsu, but any hope of her defeat would soon vanish. A violent screech of energy would emit from her, as two protrusions of blue flame would fall from her behind. They'd sway like tails and have a black pattern mixed with the intense blue flame. The orange and red slowly peeling away to reveal a blue flame underneath, it'd almost form a tight outfit around the kunoichi. Heat, chakra and an almost violent aura would pulsate from the Jinchuuriki, as she'd ignore the genin to shake off any remaining flames that weren't her own. SPOILER: Click to show Posting Order: Reiki, Ouritsu, Miho then Asahi. SA: Whirlwind Step #1 (Basically her wind makes her faster.) Etsuko is well known for her speed, she's by no means weak, but her pace is high beyond most. The first reason being her style of fuuton assisting her bukijutsu, she uses her chakra almost purely to assist her movements. Due to this she's mastered her evasive and speed enhancing fuuton to a great degree, she'd often referred to as having the ability to walk on air. Using wind currents she's able to pull and push herself around a fight, while using shift and her higher level Bukijutsu she's able to make these movements at the fastest pace in the least amount of time. Her Jinchuuriki status has greatly helped her manage the chakra lose involved in using such supplementary jutsu. Her whirlwind step though also refers to her uncanny ability to charge an opponent and instead of lunging at them, she almost gravitates around a person when charging, keeping a small distance between her and her opponent allowing maximum trick weapon efficiency. Weighted Training #2 (She isn't in weights hence her initial speeds.) Relying almost entirely upon her CQC skills Etsuko doesn't take her training lightly, she in order to improve her natural strength as well her human speed, has spent the past nine years weight training with a specially designed cloak. In lesser situations she'll even wear the cloak into combat, as it's material is quite durable and the weights hidden inside it act as armor. Half of the weights in her cloak have been broken due to her wearing it into battle, though she's made it habit to remove the cloak before winning a fight. It being an all white cloak she dislikes it getting blood, but once removed the girls speed seems to double and the fact she can wear the cloak all day unhindered, she also free's up enough carrying strength to carry her whole team once the cloaks removed. Amazing Swordplay #4 Etsuko had trained long with a katana as it was traditional a genin start with base weapons like a standard blade, however proving she was beyond the weapon in recent years hasn't stopped her from wielding them. Her speed beyond most allowed her even to beat a highly skilled samurai in her youth, she didn't devastate the samurai, but she proved her inherit blade skills and past training turned into into the amazing sword artist. She now carries seven Katana's which she can fight until their destruction, or as she prefers to do, throw them as if they were kunai. Etsuko never felt the killing potential behind a kunai or shuriken, so in her recent years and acquired strength she'd just about nailed down the art of whipping a sword as if it were meant to be a thrown projectile. Nibi Jinchuuriki #5 (Even more speed and disgusting reserves.) Etsuko is well known in her village for being the Nibi Jinchuuriki, her eyes are that of the cats and her hair naturally stands in two cats ears at the top of her head. Even as a child without any ability to call upon she was noticed for her kitty similarities. Etsuko however has been mostly in denial of her potential power limits, even knowing Matabi as a giant chakra structure Etsuko has always seen the two-tails as more of an idol or friend, than a means of power. Her natural element feeding Nibi's flame but not being Etsuko's own personal strength, so instead of brandishing cloaks of fire she remains normally quite unchanged ability wise. Her weapon usage even means she understand little if any of her ability to extend her nails into claws, but the Nibi didn't leave her unblessed. Etsuko being the Nibi Jinchuuriki has granted her speed beyond most others. Her reaction timing most importantly being above par and even many elite jounin's capabilites. On top of her speed Etsuko has gained a larger chakra pool than most, but she can only tap it with Matabi's approval most of the time. Jutsu: NAME: Suifuto no Ite [Swift Shooter] RANK: S-rank CHAKRA USAGE: Very High CLASSIFICATION: Bukijutsu ELEMENT: Fuuton DESCRIPTION: Focusing her futon nature to her feet and her weapon, Etsuko can charge at almost shunshin speed, she's not however limited to charging forward, she can launch herself in almost any direction with a release of wind chakra from her feet, however her feet not being the only thing charged makes this technique more than an advanced shift technique, instead it also acts as Etsuko's signature attack pattern. Keeping her enemy on the guard with quick shifts, she'll attempt to dart around the user and fire her Homing Blade at the blind spot of an enemy, she'll sometimes combine this with other techniques, to enhance the single attack, but if this technique is dodge, the user is capable of using the vast chakra in the blade to recall it to it's sheath or her hand. Once back in sheath she can rinse and repeat her technique at a costing chakra drain. Etsuko's gotten the title fortune's blade from her ability to faint an attack, which she uses to trigger an opponents counter, which she's prepared herself mentally to dodge. Once dodged, she'll usually be at an opponents rear a good five yards behind them, but still in the striking range of her released Homing Blade. NAME: Jinsokuna Karamiai [Swift Entanglement] RANK: A-rank CHAKRA USAGE: Medium CLASSIFICATION: Bukijutsu ELEMENT: Fuuton DESCRIPTION: Homing Blade being a wired weapon requires great skill to effectively use, to adjust to this Etsuko has mastered the swift entanglement technique a skill of great chakra control and bukijutsu mastery, where the user effects the motion of their weapons wire, as well as the flow of wind nature weapons, it works similarly to that of Shift, it uses wind to stop and speed weapons in an instance to their maximum pace. It also allows Etsuko to maneuver her wired Homing Blade as if it were effected by the manipulated shuriken technique. A comlex technique to master, but a life saver on the battlefield with so many varied styles of kenjutsu. NAME: Fūton: Shinkūjin [Wind Release: Vacuum Blade] RANK: C CHAKRA USAGE: Low CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Fūton DESCRIPTION: The user exhales wind-infused chakra onto a weapon in order to increase its sharpness, range and lethality. Reiki didn't play offensively, he was far more aware and ready to evade now that he wasn't trying to aim a blow. It made her next form of assault far easier to avoid. An attack from the sides and up front, his eyes saw the peripherals as clear as day. They aimed straight towards the center, in which he seemingly blurred his body away when the weapons tried to bury themselves into his body. They were faster, but he wasn't trying to strike her this time. Balance both factors out and they were swift to miss like her previous attempts. It was not fair to boast such speed, but he didn't have anything on the offensive to smack her across the face with either. At the best, he could lower her morale for trying to strike him. But perhaps she could obtain morale from seeing him cough blood. Eh... It wasn't all rainbows and sunshines.

If Reiki was going to be eliminated, he'll fight tooth and nail to make it as annoying as possible.

Big words, but his face was exasperated from the usage of the armor, lips sealing tight and muscles tightening. Beads of sweat flew from his forehead like nothing, lightning slowly consuming the body from inside. Hiding the pain was hard, but like hell was he going to buckle. Not yet... Not YET!

Through clenched teeth, he would exhale sharply through dry lungs and heavy levels of physical stress. Left alone for the moment, his body threatened to drop the armor, but he couldn't. No,he wasn't going to fall down. Positive thoughts, think positive! He can survive this, he WILL survive this!

Heh...

And so his eyes get to witness the aftermath of his evasion. How unfortunate for the others to not possess speed, but he was far from intervention. He was busy dodging weapons as the psycho pushed some genin off. A Leaf and a Stone. Reiki's eyes raised as the Nohime was about to fall, but he had nothing to save the shinobi's plunge. A bias, so who was the Leaf again?

At least there was time for Reiki to witness one more thing. As the other technique drew closer towards them, it seems like the lady took the hit first. Flames? Sort of, but it didn't look goo! And she just stood in them, revealing something of nightmares. Those blue eyes of his would watch in horror, as tails began to form on her body. No...

No...

But it is... It is something beyond their limits. Every single genin in the ring was bound to fall, did one want to resist fate? Something to not be controlled, for this was the unveiling of something brutal. The tails, they weren't accessories. Even one was enough to wipe existences. And two of them were going to be used to... To... Hm?

That aura... Those flames... If Reiki doesn't do anything about them, the other three genin were going to falter. That's just a fact. But how badly, for unleashing such a beast against them, there were going to be deaths. The only thing to prevent that was...

Was nothing! Survival of the fittest, they entered these exams knowing full-well what could happen. Whatever goes on is their fault, it would be best to just let fate happen. Evade, dodge, play defensively. Take the point jackpot for yourse-

Reiki couldn't! There were lives on the line and he's just going to sit back and watch them perish!?

Remember the rules of the round, you fool! Get eliminated and you'll surely fail! You really think you can take on Ms. Twin Tails!?

No, but there has to be something that could be done, some way to at least stop her! What could it be? Something, anything! Please, think of something t-

Reiki? N-No, don't cough, stop bleeding! There's... Uh... Reiki's body had to pay a price, unfortunately. Another cough, far more blood than the last, another reminder that he was in a critical condition. Though his body can still fight, it can stop what was going to happe-

Perhaps one narrator might not see like Reiki can, but it's clear that he was just standing. Conflicted, not a single muscle moved further than the armor would push. In despair as he looked, it seems like he was watching with horror. He didn't want to approach it, he can be a survivor! A hero? Pathetic, those die swiftly. But he had opportunity standing right in front of him! And he'll be damned if he didn't take it. All he had to do was stare...

Surely, he wouldn't... Reiki? Reiki?

Oh my, it seems like that's the case! Allow a REAL story to be written~. Okay, ahem. Being the bold and strong survivor he was, he wisely stood idle as the lightning armor could coat his body from the flames. Why? That heat wasn't going past that barrier anytime soon, he could easily brush it off like nothing. Burning skin? One would wish such an effect came through the armor, it was just a hot summer day when the heat tried to go through the armor! He would hold up the armor since that's already been set in stone, but it wouldn't take long for him to d-

"No... I won't drop it..." Reiki muttered, the odd voice in his head no longer sounding so familiar. H-He's resisted!? But... Yes, YES! No questions, those were not neccessary! Not in the slightest.

Daft, foolish. How unfortunate, for it merely delays the inevitab- Huh!?

Reiki's body was swift to try to intervene. Determination, positivity! Something needed to be done about thw twin tails, only he could stop it. She had his speed, the other genin were defenseless without the same. The one attempt that one genin made to save himself failed. Alone with the twin tailed with the Leaf and Stone thrown off of the arena? No, forget that. Put everything on the line, stop her at all costs!

And he was swift to do it, disappearing yet again! Those blades won't stop him, the armor can't hold him for too long! He'll try, he needed to try! Pushing through the heat, he would arrive right in between the both of the Sand Shinobi and the twin tails. She seemed pre-occupied with the transformation, but their dance wasn't done yet! And was he going on the offense? H-He was! OH SHIIIIII-

How utterly dumb, he's going to kill himse-

Reiki's trying his best! Pushing in between the both of them and his attention is turned towards the twin-tails again! She was in the center with those flames as an aura, but he has lightning as his aura. They had to balance each other out! More, faster! Aim directly for her gut! And he tries! Reiki's eyes lock onto the core in an attempt to push a sharp punch to the gut, charging towards her direction with speeds she can match, but he can also challenge. If the Sand shinobi stayed behind him, Reiki's body can be a shield to prevent an elimination. But most importantly, a death!

Pure impulse while running low on chakra. He'll buckle, he'll submit. He'll, be, mine.

Ouritsu had always had an appreciation for genjutsu and how it could completely turn the tide of battle, but rarely had he been able to combine a simple one with another jutsu, especially considering how slow his jinton was. But both had succeeded and the girl from Konoha was for all intents and purposes taken out for at least a little while, and he'd be surprised if Miho would be able to even get up again with a piece of her side missing. However, the feeling of joy would be quickly replaced by a hard pressure on his shoulder that sent his world tumbling.

Focussing on the attack unfortunately made the Iwa genin oblivious to his surroundings, a mistake but when dealing with jinton one didn't really have the luxury of looking elsewhere; not like he would have seen the older woman approaching anyway. Her speed was on a level that might have been greater than Yoshiko or Akira which was truly something considering they were the two strongest people her knew. But there'd be time for debating speed later, quite a bit if he couldn't stop himself from rolling off the edge.

The boy cursed his lack of ninja tools which could have helped in a situation like this, but for some reason he had decided on a minimalist approach. That only left plan B which was to somehow stop himself, and quick. Ouritsu would try his best to channel chakra to both his hands and feet, gripping the platform yet still slightly sliding back due to how hard he had been pushed. Unfortunately that wouldn't be the end of his problems as just as soon as he stopped moving the platform would begin to rumble with the sounds of destruction. It was a clear sign that in just a few moments this piece of the stage would be plummeting to the earth below. The blow had put him damn near the edge and it was going to take some serious hustle to make it to safety.

Ouritsu would cease channeling chakra to his hands and feet before running as fast as he could back towards the center, leaping to the edge mere moments before it fell completely. Assuming he made the jump the Iwa shinobi would take a few moments to gather himself before refocussing on the battlefield. The leaf girl had seemingly been hit by a surprise attack too and it'd be a miracle if she made it to safety. Reiki had zipped around between the kid with glasses and... whatever that was. Gone was the lady who had been fighting with Reiki and in her place was some blue-flamed clad monster with twin tails. The young Nohime had no idea what he was looking at but whatever it was probably wouldn't be beneficial to him making it to the end of the fight.

"What the hell is that?!" He'd ask, not expecting an answer that made sense but at least making an attempt to wrap his head around things.

Asahi felt a twinge to help his former partner but knew that throwing himself in the face of danger for what was essentially a free for all would do nothing except possibly get both of them eliminated and hurt his chances of becoming a chunin. Besides, he had no idea what the purple haired kids technique did for him to even try and counter, but upon seeing a pice of Miho's side missing after the cube touched her it was clear that such jutsu was not to be taken lightly. If he wasn't positive that all of them were basically exhausted at this point the threat of that technique on a larger scale would have been much greater. Alas, it seemed that the girl from Konoha was out for the count, though her being a medic could have swayed things if given the time to heal. Unfortunately, it didn't look like the mystery woman was in any mood to give the genin some leeway.

For whatever reason she and the lightning-clad genin from Kumo had ceased their fight and in the blink of an eye the woman had sped off. It wasn't until she stopped to shoulder charge the purple haired kid that Asahi's eyes could catch up, but just as quickly as she stopped she took off once more, this time for Miho giving the same strong push. Her aim, while not necessarily fighting, was to try and push them off the platform. None except Reiki had demonstrated that they had anywhere near enough speed to give her a challenge and it would have been the most pitiful game of cat and mouse ever. A horrifying revelation would dawn upon the Suna genin as he finally noticed the pattern: the woman would be coming for him next. His mind raced to try and figure out a plan but there wasn't much he could do against such speed.

While his eyes couldn't keep up with such movements, his defensive planning from earlier more than made up for it. Once where there was nothing there was now a human sized fireball stopped dead in its tracks. The Kansouchi had worked wonderfully turning the woman's speed --and her futon laced jutsu-- against her, literally igniting the very friction she was creating by moving at such high speeds. Did that mean it was time for a counter? Or would she retreat? Neither of those options would come to fruition, however, as an ear shattering screech would emanate from the flames as the orange and yellow fire would slowly peel away to reveal blue and black ones. What looked like... tails.. swung idly behind the woman as Asahi looked on trying to piece everything together. He had never seen such a transformation, but it sounded familiar....

... Arashi! The girl had divulged her secret to him a while back about being host to some form of demon or whatever and the monstrous abilities it granted her, so putting two and two together probably meant that this woman also led a similar fate. Straight up asking her to confirm probably wouldn't go over well, but the genin was almost 100 percent sure he was staring down a jin...jin... jinchuriki. Yeah, that.

Well shit.

Were there was already no conceivable way to best this woman before, finding out she held otherwordly power was just icing on the shit cake, and even better she seemed to be a fire based user which would make using Shakuton against her tough. That would leave his sealing techniques and little else, but there were a couple that could be useful in a situation like this. Just then, the lightning clad boy would arrive, putting himself between Asahi and the woman... was he trying to protect them? Or had he just not had enough fighting? Whatever the case, the boy would charge at her with an attack. He was trying to keep the pressure up, but with them all just being genin there was only so much that could be done, and only so much their bodies could handle.

Final Exam: Battle Royale A Battle Among Branches Ouritsu would barely find himself back in one of the two remaining wooden rings, as Miho would be pushed out of the ring and thus fight. It'd leave only three genin remaining, but all of which staring in likely wonder as the woman showed off her jinchuuriki prowess. It was no secret at this point, she'd gone full Matatabi in the battle for supremacy after all. There was a chance any of these genin had spectated that event, but she'd merely gone this form to strike fear. As well as more easily disperse the flames from around her. Reiki the one who'd been attempting to match her pace would once again confront her. Place between her and Asahi, as if to protect the fellow genin from her. It was quite commendable, but it'd been a fools errand. Despite her dispersed wind jutsu, she was just as fast in this state. Her speed no longer having a weakness of fire and her body mostly coated with a shield of chakra flames. Despite these things he'd still choose to engage her, he was far to reliant on this lightning armor. It'd pick up his pace, as well as give him a form of armor, but it had nowhere near the chakra of a bijuu. He'd further find complication, as raiton was an element she'd mastered. So without hesitation and showing little sign of planning a block, she'd lift her hand into the place of his fist last second. As to prove her speed hadn't diminished with her transformation. She'd grip his fist in her fiery hand and toss him full force for the Nohime at her side, it'd be a move to attempt to send both shinobi out of the ring. Her tails slinging around either side of Reiki before the throw, just as the block was raised. To make going left, right or backwards impossible. Immediately upon accomplishing this throw or if the shinobi some how could dodge up, she'd burst forward full pace once again. A quick lunge followed by a similar gut punch Reiki attempted to perform on her, but it'd be aimed towards Asahi's gut. As she'd try to drive enough force and pain to send him flying off another edge of the platform. Her armor seeming to fade away just as she'd appear to punch the sand shinobi. Half of the weights in her cloak have been broken due to her wearing it into battle, though she's made it habit to remove the cloak before winning a fight. It being an all white cloak she dislikes it getting blood, but once removed the girls speed seems to double and the fact she can wear the cloak all day unhindered, she also free's up enough carrying strength to carry her whole team once the cloaks removed. Nibi Jinchuuriki #5 (Even more speed and disgusting reserves.) Etsuko is well known in her village for being the Nibi Jinchuuriki, her eyes are that of the cats and her hair naturally stands in two cats ears at the top of her head. Even as a child without any ability to call upon she was noticed for her kitty similarities. Etsuko however has been mostly in denial of her potential power limits, even knowing Matabi as a giant chakra structure Etsuko has always seen the two-tails as more of an idol or friend, than a means of power. Her natural element feeding Nibi's flame but not being Etsuko's own personal strength, so instead of brandishing cloaks of fire she remains normally quite unchanged ability wise. Her weapon usage even means she understand little if any of her ability to extend her nails into claws, but the Nibi didn't leave her unblessed. Battle Royale

She was swift. Absolutely. But he was aware. His problem was stamina. It was severely low compared to hers, she could keep dishing out moves until the night falls. A genin placed in a condition where he's fought for his life multiple times made this something harder. Her new form was fast, not that he thought any differently. But it was capable of trapping. Did his fist have to commit? How unfortunate for her intentions in trying to throw him. Perhaps he wasn't able to change anything at his current speed.

At his current speed.

His eyes saw everything rapidly. Awareness. If the stone shinobi taught him anything useful, this would be the best time to apply it. Nothing in slo-motion this time as the lightning armor he possessed. If there was something he realized, it was the fact that numbers didn't exactly mean everything. Reiki was going to amplify his current weakness and planned to add onto his current strength. Speed.

Reiki's current pinnacle in speed, for the second form of the armor was slower than the first. The time of the living body flicker. For something close a few moments, but he was hanging on for dear life.

And, SWITCH! The lightning was severely reduced, perhaps an illusion that he was far weaker. It depends on one's definition, but this was his. More speed, use it correctly and it will severely help. This was the best he can do. All at the final push of his chakra.

Unfortunate. It seems like his fuel has run empty, he had to make do with the few short seconds he had before he was forced to collapse onto the ground with a torn body with sparks of lightning fizzing out.

Upon finding his change, he found just the speed he needed! Though his eyes didn't see behind him, he full-well knew that they wouldn't just stop at his sides. That wouldn't be wise in the slight. But with what he could see, there seemed to be ceiling space. Falling into her hand would not be the most fortunate, because her physical strength was the type difference between a two-tails wielder and a genin with a little above average strength for his rank. And though it seemed like a slip, his fist would slide to the side of her hand, just quickly enough to prevent her from getting a grip.

And he wasn't wasting precious nanoseconds giving her another chance. With shunshin levels of speed, his body swiftly jumped up before diagonally charging towards the other side of the ring. It may as well have been a teleport for the average eye, though he had a feeling he wouldn't exactly be crystal clear to the twin tails either. Not without another boost, and why would he be surprised if that happened to be the case?

But with things going... Eh, for Reiki came things that went bad for the sand shinobi. Fast speeds or not, the twin tails immediately went to strike the sand shinobi. Reiki's speeds were higher than before, but not high enough to evade the way he did and intervene again. And though he may be able to see it and try to charge, she was going to get that punch in if the sand shinobi had nothing prepared. Reiki could only do so much.

With what he could do, he would charge around the first ring while the twin tails made herself occupied with the punch. But with her seemingly endless amount of sensory to high speeds, he wouldn't just blindly go in with an attack. If anything, he would try to nudge her from behind, a push perhaps. Exposing a limb for a tail to catch sounds like a stupid idea. He had a better chance at avoiding tails that tried to wrap around his body. It was the speed the guided the impact rather than strength, but after feeling what she was capable of, her defenses would likely mitigate it into the expected result, mitigating the impact to something close to nothing. That was what Reiki wanted, an opening to aim a strike, though he knew little of a word to come into play rather quickly. Desperation. For now, he was going for something to at least distract her long enough to go in for one last hit attempt.

But he wasn't going to continue without knowing if he managed to at least cause her to stumble. With his momentum, he'll just charge himself out of range, or as much as "Out of range" as being on the first ring gets. A bolstered wincing set of eyes as he felt his vision beginning to haze. Nothing too bad at first, they could likely do for a little more time. His body was in fatigue, pushed to the brink. One more go, then he was down to go.

Enhanced Eyesight
The user's eyesight is heavily enhanced, even without the use of the Tennogan. The smallest details could be observed as if it were in front of the user should the distance between them not exceed 30 meters. Peripheral vision also seems as clear as if it were the main sight of focus.

Quickdraw
The user is far more aware of their surroundings, reflexes being enhanced a mighty amount. On top of this, their body is designed to be more swift and prepare to carry out quick tasks that the normal body may not be able to do in time. As the user learns more about physical combat, their movement speed and attack speed will be even more advanced. Though the difference is barely noticeable at the start, the gap between the user and an average ninja will grow tremendously.

Moderate Chakra Control
Reiki now understands how chakra flows and how to send it through the chakra points at a decent speed. On top of this, he minimizes the chakra burn when using his techniques to a point where he can last longer than the average shinobi of his level and give his techniques the maximum effectiveness in doing so.

The user wraps their body in a cloak of Raiton though not used offensively, the cloak is used to stimulate the users nervous system. Speeding up neural synapses to react faster, as well as pushing the users body to its absolute limit, allowing for tremendous raw speed, a speed which makes even a one tomoe Sharingan user confused as to the user's whereabouts. The increase in speed comes with a great level of fatigue attached with it making this a jutsu best suited to be used when needed and not spammed throughout the entirety of a fight (though it can be used that way its highly dangerous). It is effectively an armor that surrounds the user allowing them to brush off and B-rank and below Raiton techniques and also C-rank and lower Physical attacks.

This jutsu improves on the basis of the Lighting Release Body Flicker and makes it a more longer lasting affect (2 rounds) with more more refined increases. But also much more costly price as over use in one fight could overexert the user causing the body to shut down in due to crippling pain.

Acts as an elongated Shunshin technique. The user can move at shunshin speeds with the above benefits for 2 rounds with one High usage of Chakra. This can be used four times total during a thread, each time tiring out the body of the user. After the fourth time, their muscles are completely deteriorated.

Note: Without the proper SAs, just like Chidori, the extreme speed would only be for straight lines, without curving, and giving a form of tunnel vision.

Deep breaths as thoughts swirled around his head during this battle royale that never really felt like one. The opportunity to attack one of the other genin had been shadowed by a literal demon host joining the fray and that understandably drew the attention of the three remaining combatants. Sure there may have been a slim chance to be an opportunist but the chance of being punished for that like the Iwa shinobi was a few moments ago was a very real possibility, so it seemed that the three of them would be somewhat working together, or at the very least trying not to get themselves eliminated by outside help.

Asahi would watch --or try to keep up at least-- with Reiki's attack on the Nibi as even though it looked like the boy wasn't moving as blindingly fast as before there was still a struggle to see everything clearly. The woman, on the other hand, had very little problem reading the lightning clad genin's moves and easily dispatched of him before setting her eyes on... Asahi.

Oh shit.

She lunged to close the distance between them, not super sonic speed but the boy didn't have time to lolly gag when it came to a response. Her fire cloak was going to present a problem, as well as the speed. He wasn't one hundred percent sure if his Shakuton would be completely neutralized or just the burning element, but perhaps the evaporation could still present an issue for her. No, best not to chance it with so little room for error left. That left either evading completely or trying to counter. He had something that could maybe stop the woman, perhaps not for long, but it'd give him and the other two genin a chance to do something.

He would wait until the woman got within an arms reach before his body moved to the right, faster than he had ran at any point during these entire exams. He'd stop after roughly three meters, his hands instantly moving into three seals before slapping onto the ground. A fancy looking seal would spread out in a ten meter radius hopefully catching the woman inside it, and if so locking her feet to the ground. It was by no means the strongest seal in the world and someone of the Nibi's strength probably wouldn't be held too long so if the other two genin had something up their sleeves now was the best time to use it.

Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, and any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion

They will be stuck in place until the seal is broken, which can be achieved by destroying the ground it is summoned on. People who were not inside the range can move over the surface of the seal once it's been summoned without any issue.

Ouritsu slowly rose to his feet after barely escaping the jaws of defeat. This wasn't how he envisioned the round to go at all and instead of fighting other genin --which he had been looking forward to-- they were now all facing some higher level shinobi whose speed was out of this world. Well, out of this world for everyone except Reiki who seemed to be having the time of his life bouncing around, though over these last few moments the Kumo genin did seem to be slowing down if even just a little. Well, not much they could do about that and perhaps it would present an opportunity to trim the field a little more.

Alas, the boy had to first ensure that he wasn't next to get knocked off. Whoever this woman was looked to only have one goal in mind and that was to try and eliminate as many of them as possible without regard or any kind of favoritism; and with her speed she'd be able to cause all sorts of problems and attack anyone nearly at will. Whatever had happened during his mad dash to the next ring had seemingly worked as the woman burst into flames. Was it one of the others techniques? Didn't matter, it looked as though their worries might have finally been coming to an end. Wishful thinking, unfortunately, as the orange flames would peel away revealing blue and black ones as well as... tails? Ouritsu had no idea what he was looking at but knew it was trouble.

So what was he to do? Jinton would be too slow and trying to kick and punch that flame armor probably wasn't the smartest idea which left only one option: genjutsu! He had hoped to save it for the other genin and had so far only used one, but this woman was a much bigger threat at the moment. Reiki charged in from the other side of the ring but looked to be easily dispatched, the woman's next target being the kid with the glasses. Perfect. She was occupied which made her a prime target for illusions.

A shrill whistle would come from the Iwa genin's mouth and if the sound was able to reach the woman she'd find her world flipped topsy turvy and the victim of severe disorientation. It wasn't the strongest genjutsu in the world but useful if but for a few seconds to set something else up. Reiki looked to still be wanting the up close action and the Suna kid was up to something so perhaps unintentionally they'd be able to get a good hit on the woman.

Final Exam: Battle Royale A Battle Among Branches Despite Reiki's attempt to draw Etsuko's attention, he'd simply not have the time to meet her before she'd reach the sand shinobi. Avoiding her attack by going upwards would leave him with nothing to kick off, so quickly getting back to the ground and behind her would be neigh impossible. He'd of been incredibly lucky to dodge her grab, but switching states in his ninjutsu would also leave him to be more vulnerable. She however wasn't aiming for him, at least not since he'd been wavering. His speed unlike hers costed him and at his rank he was likely struggling to keep it up. His wavering vision and fatigue would be minimizing his maximum potential and she wasn't even breaking a sweat. Asahi was smart to put forth his full effort to dodge, he'd be saved by his flash step. The next move wasn't a bad one either, as he'd quickly summon a seal on the limited space of the arena. It'd however extend into the range of Reiki as well, so if the cloud shinobi wasn't expecting it, he'd likely find himself ensnared in a similar trap. Ouritsu whether it be by luck or actual desire to cooperate against the jounin would move in next. Less actual moving and more attempting his own jutsu on the jounin. Etsuko would be proud to an extent the trio was more or less working together. It was in fact likely they're better hope of surviving, but could they use this situation truly to their advantage. Her feet were stuck and her world started to spin, but this wasn't a stand alone jounin and these weren't the exact situations she expected. Fuuinjutsu concerned her on a more personal level, so to her that'd become a focus. The genjutsu would become an after thought as Matatabi hissed. "It's not the seal Etsuko, you're in a genjutsu." Exhaling a deep breath Etsuko would activate her wind sensory again, as she'd hold her position for a moment. An almost casting of a false sense of security, had the trio caught her and what would they do with her in a bind? Battle Royale

The strength of awareness was put on full display. One that possessed speed without awareness was bound to placed in the trap that was set. The sand shinobi seemed to have the intentions of trapped the both of them? Perhaps the twin tails since she tried to get the shinobi, Reiki tried to be a shield. Tried. Not that very effective of one, being forced out of the way. But with what the twin tails couldn't recognize, Reiki did. Every detail was caught, he saw everything in the arena in the cleanest of details while it was full. That seal on the floor was limiting, sure. But it didn't cover everything. His awareness allowed him to see it. His speed allowed him to evade, quickly flickering towards where Ouritsu was in retaliation.

To use speed wisely is to know that it does not serve as an alternative for a defense without other aspects.

Without any more enhancers to help her, his just boosted speed would have been enough to at least land a critical strike onto her. Though Reiki was unaware of the genjutsu, the seal that the sand shinobi placed on the floor would grant him an opening. One shot to try to end this! Come on, come ON!

More lightning would surge throughout the stage as he charged around the free edge of arena, though he could only go so far before the seal would have been met. The only way to go into close combat with the twin tails would have been to jump.

There would have been no chances for him to feign attacks, which would have been the most ideal for him. This was merely a bold leap of faith. And off he went, with one jump from the second ring towards the first with the twin tails blocking the way. He didn't expect to put her down this this, he even had the intention to continue going after this!

Intentions mean well, but amount to nothing... Unfortunately. This was his final strike.

Leaping into the air, it was like a bolt of lighting heading towards the twin tails. Reiki raised a right leg up before aiming to slam it right towards the neck of his opponent. He didn't know about the genjutsu or to question if his attack would be manipulated by it or not. This was just under the impression that she was stuck in place, at least once.

Why the neck specifically? If the seal was anything to go by, perhaps her body would be completely locked if she fell down. His leg would push her down by the shoulders and then he can follow up or leave her to be in the seal and they can all just sit the battle through the final ring.

Now it was imagination time! Imagine the explosive kick landing and knocking her to the ground. What happens to Reiki? See, the momentum would still be active, he was in a jump, only slowed down by the impact that he landed. Causing him to fall down onto the ground into the first ring, rolling, as his lightning aura fades from his body.

Scenario two, he misses. She manages to evade the attack and decides that the jump will seal his fate. Due to no interruptions happening, his spinning body would slam against the center of the ring, painfully and completely stopping his momentum and inflict a harsh hit against his back before awkwardly falling onto the first ring, coughing up tons of blood in the process.

And in either case, his body has hit it's peak. It was finished. Pushing it any further would kill him, he just didn't have the chakra to continue. Reiki's body trembled as he he tried to muster some sort of strength to push himself up. At first, he was somewhat successful, his arms pushing his upper body off the ground. But then his weight won the day and his body would flop back against the ground.

Though his body covered it, his stomach would too be bleeding, for pushing the body with a bandaged wound could only help so much. The bandages were soaked through quite a long time ago, it was the jacket that the blood managed to go past. This was why he believed for the twin tails to try and gut him, to exploit that wound. Reiki coughed yet again, even more blood, as he laid down in the center of it all. His body was at the lowest it has ever been in, his eyes severely blurring and his body trembling as he tried to force himself to fight on. But to no avail, leaving him to remain grounded on the first ring.

Enhanced Eyesight
The user's eyesight is heavily enhanced, even without the use of the Tennogan. The smallest details could be observed as if it were in front of the user should the distance between them not exceed 30 meters. Peripheral vision also seems as clear as if it were the main sight of focus.

Quickdraw
The user is far more aware of their surroundings, reflexes being enhanced a mighty amount. On top of this, their body is designed to be more swift and prepare to carry out quick tasks that the normal body may not be able to do in time. As the user learns more about physical combat, their movement speed and attack speed will be even more advanced. Though the difference is barely noticeable at the start, the gap between the user and an average ninja will grow tremendously.

Moderate Chakra Control
Reiki now understands how chakra flows and how to send it through the chakra points at a decent speed. On top of this, he minimizes the chakra burn when using his techniques to a point where he can last longer than the average shinobi of his level and give his techniques the maximum effectiveness in doing so.

DESCRIPTION:

The user wraps their body in a cloak of Raiton though not used offensively, the cloak is used to stimulate the users nervous system. Speeding up neural synapses to react faster, as well as pushing the users body to its absolute limit, allowing for tremendous raw speed, a speed which makes even a one tomoe Sharingan user confused as to the user's whereabouts. The increase in speed comes with a great level of fatigue attached with it making this a jutsu best suited to be used when needed and not spammed throughout the entirety of a fight (though it can be used that way its highly dangerous). It is effectively an armor that surrounds the user allowing them to brush off and B-rank and below Raiton techniques and also C-rank and lower Physical attacks.

This jutsu improves on the basis of the Lighting Release Body Flicker and makes it a more longer lasting affect (2 rounds) with more more refined increases. But also much more costly price as over use in one fight could overexert the user causing the body to shut down in due to crippling pain.

Acts as an elongated Shunshin technique. The user can move at shunshin speeds with the above benefits for 2 rounds with one High usage of Chakra. This can be used four times total during a thread, each time tiring out the body of the user. After the fourth time, their muscles are completely deteriorated.

Note: Without the proper SAs, just like Chidori, the extreme speed would only be for straight lines, without curving, and giving a form of tunnel vision.

It had... worked? The boy honestly couldn't believe his eyes.The last few moments Asahi had essentially moved out of pure instinct the last few seconds but knew that he couldn't let that monster get her hands on him less his exams come to a screeching halt. But, at least for now, she seemed to be immobilized by the seal. If that had been the entire purpose of this round of the exams then they would have been victorious, funnily enough without even saying a word to each other the entire time. However, the goal was to make it to the final ring and they had two left, not to mention the fuinjutsu wouldn't last forever so if there were secondary moves to be made now was the time for them.

But what could be done? Most of his fuinjutsu required touch and touching that cloak of flame would definitely do more harm than good, and his Shakuton --deadly as it was-- might have also been neutralized by the same cloak leaving the Suna genin with not too many other options. Well, his Shakuton not working was just a hunch since it shared a nature but there was also a futon element involved which could have provided just the difference he needed. Welp, nothing given nothing earned went the old saying.

A set of seals followed by a raised hand, his index finger pointed around the leg of the Nibi. Shakuton chakra would gather into the outstretched finger before being released in a concise shot. If his plan worked then the bullet would be able to pierce the cloak and do some damage. If not, well then at least he would know what to not do going forward. Granted, Asahi had no idea if this cloak held any special properties because it belonged to a jinchuriki nor was he thinking about it, and if it had been some non-bijuu powered fire cloak then his hunch may have very well worked. His aim, while true, may have been thrown off by the cloud shinobi flying in attempting one last attack, and what was originally aimed at a leg could have possibly shifted to a shoulder or something worse depending on the outcome.

The user will concentrate chakra into one hand. With precise chakra control, the user will release it through one finger tip, preferably the index finger. The concentrated release of the Shakuton chakra causes it to come out in the form of a powerful and devistating blast bullet. Upon contact, the shot is capable of going through an opponent's body, leaving a gaping hole the size of the chakra bullet as it dehydrates the skin of the area it has struck. The power of the flare shot is derived from the chakra control of its user. The less control, the less power.

There was so much going on that it was difficult to keep track even in an ever shrinking arena. Reiki seemed to be pushing himself past his limits to prove that he was on par with this random monster, er, woman, and while he was probably little more than a glorified annoyance to her the opportunities for attacks he provided by just being in the way could have very well been the key to them surviving this round. Granted, there were still a couple platforms left to fall and as amazing as his speed and lightning armor were Ouritsu knew the cloud shinobi wasn't going to be able to keep it up for much longer.

A throw, a dodge and a swift counter took place next and it seemed to stop the woman right in her tracks. Whether the momentary boost in speed from the kid in glasses threw the woman off or Ouritsu's genjutsu held her up just enough for the fuinjutsu to do its job was unknown but the lady wasn't moving right now and that was the important part. He was fortunate that whatever attack that was didn't get used on him because it looked pretty rough to deal with, and perhaps the genin would still have to watch out for it at some point. There was no telling how long this woman was going to be here for causing a ruckus or, if the opportunity presented itself, one of the genin wouldn't take the chance to knock another out. It was still a free for all even if all three genin were attacking one target.

Ouritsu watched as Reiki flew in for one last attack, admittedly a little on the high side but he must have had his reasons. The Suna kid was preparing his own follow up attack which left the Iwa-nin to... well, he wasn't quite sure. Using Jinton would be tough given how close in proximity Reiki was getting to the woman and he had no plans to try and touch that flaming armor that was coating the woman. Perhaps he didn't need to do anything right now anyway. If his last genjutsu had hit the mark she'd be feeling the effects for a tad bit longer and if the young Nohime needed to follow up with another one then he'd be ready. For now, however, he would watch the events unfold and hope they could get some real damage on their mysterious assailant.
