Title given to her by becoming one of the great sword masters of the village and embodying the relentless and unforgiving traits of the land of eternal winter with her lethal sword play.

Yuki no Keiri [lit. Executioner of the Snow][village]

A moniker that the village gave to Minami after she became Emiri's bodyguard. Utterly loyal to the Lady of the Yuki Clan she is often dispatched as an informer to deal with situations that the Lady of Yukigakure can not attend personally.

Minami is a petite young woman with pale skin, that while from the distance she looks delicate and lithe, beneath her clothing she sports a slender and athletic build crafted thanks to years of rigorous training. Her face is angular with delicate features like the finest porcelain with thin eyebrows and an expression that is generally neutral, only giving a slight smile on certain situations. Her eyes are a deep shade of purple and her hair is black that is tinged to a soft purple at the end of the bangs. She keeps her hair tied with a butterfly pin

Her usual service attire is a dark purple tinted straight-lined black uniform with golden buttons and hakama pants that are tucked into a butterfly pattern fabric around her lower legs over which she wears a white haori which has a butterfly wing pattern that fades into a turquoise then pink color on the sleeves and bottom edges which are cuffed with a black and white dotted trims. She wears white sandals with purple straps for footwear. Beneath the jacket she wears a white tank top. Outside of missions she wears a flower pattern pink kimono.

I do not waste my time countering the plans of my foes I never care what the enemy intends to do, for they will never be allowed to do it. Stir them with terror and their plans are soon to fail in desperation."

Minami is a laid back individual, her features usually showing a neutral expression rarely tinged with a smile, that hides her real demeanor. She enjoys teasing others and can be rather sadistic, becoming a cruel individual to those whom she thinks are not worth her time or that she finds incompetent. 

The concept of honor is alien to her as she sees it as something foolish that will do little to save the person that hold such ideas sacrosanct. She will take whatever chance available to her to fell her enemies, be it by direct combat or by means of assassination with a fervent ardor. 

However it is to be noted that Minami is utterly loyal to the village, whilst not  a leader, she is disciplined enough to keep her more violent tendencies in check and shows great respect to those with authority, specially those that had proven their martial might through their years of service, as well she is disciplined enough not to execute underlings that might be incompetent, deciding just to remove them from her sight and sending them away just enough. 

She however is blunt speaking, unafraid to speaking her voice, avoiding the niceties and courtesies when someone in her vicinity does questionable actions that reek of idiocy or that go against the interest of her village.

Outside her duty she is quiet and reserved, preferring the tranquility of her greenhouse and the relaxation brought by resting after a long session of training, still she retains her teasing nature, belittling those that she views as incompetent. 

HISTORY

Hanami was born five years after the end of the Third Shinobi War to Yūgao Butsuma and his wife Kinoe, both veterans of the war that returned as the nations were rebuilding their strength for the inevitable return of hostilities. The marriage of her parents was brought more out of duty than out of any romantic attachment as their union had been prearranged by their families, still her father would not treat his wife and his daughter badly. 

When Hamani was born, Butsuma determined that as he aged and his skills were deteriorating, he would do all in his power to shape his only daughter to be the best kunoichi that the village needed her to be, a sentiment that was agreed with his wife with. By the time the girl turned four then, their work on that regard began at earnest. 

From there, her life had become riven with training. From basic tactics, to history, command structure to wielding a sword. The training was harsh for the necessity of the land in which they lived and the enemies she would have to face in the future. By the time she had turned six, it had become apparent to her parents that it was the training with the sword which she much preferred and then began to put a bigger emphasis on it. 

With all this by the time she entered the academy, she had a head start when compared to the rest of his classmates from her generations. Her training within the academy and those given by her parents mixed in well, as she learned about the specifics of teamwork and their teachers in the academy would mark her as one of the most prominent talents of her generation. 

This time was not without its trouble, as she would often infuriate her classmates with her blunt and outspoken personality as well with her difficulty with several ninjutsu techniques that her peers managed to master at a faster pace than she ever did. As well she would have a hard time bonding and making friendships, finding solace in a girl named Kanae, forging a friendship between them as she would teach her about Ninjutsu whilst Hanami passed down her knowledge of Bukijutsu to her. 

It was however by the time of her ninth birthday, that her mother would pass by an illness, and she and her father would be left alone. Even as the training continued, the man never allowed himself to be harsher at his daughter because of his grief, and would dot her with moments of kindness in between the training he provided and he grew to appreciate her father more as time passed. 

At the age of ten, she graduated from the academy and was placed in a genin team under the leadership of a Jonin. As a reward for her graduation, her father would give gift to her a sword that had being given to him by his father and was now passed unto her. It was almost that for her delight, she would be placed alongside Kanae in her Genin team and another boy named Katsuhiro.

The first months of her life as a shinobi weren't exactly the most exciting. Routine became taking care of children, seeking for stray pets of preparing food, occasionally she and her team would be sent to hunt a wild animal in the frozen waste or bandits that roamed the gelid coves of the land of snow. 

While the relationship of the two girls in the team would be good, Hanami would clash with Katsuhiro as she found his personality loud and obnoxious, this was a headache that his Jonin Sensei, Nakajima Tsubasa would try to fix as he implemented more and more training sessions that resulted in a constant barrage of back and forth bickering. 

They would receive a mission to take down a low-time gang that were taking one of the docks, still bickering yet emerging victorious, but in the process would Katsuhiro and Hanami appreciate each other and work as a team. 

By the time she had turned twelve and most of the tensions of the team had waned, their sensei had determined them ready to partake in the Chunin Exams. As time passed before the exams the training exercises would increment until their abilities were polished to ensure that they would ready for the taxing nature of the exams.

The exams themselves were nothing short of brutal. As many teams either dropped or died in the duress of the exam. Despite the odds they faced, the team would be promoted to Chunin  by the end of the exams, with Hanami raising to the rank as she turned thirteen and would continue to serve with their sensei and squadmates that she had grown so fond off. 

As they took more and more daring missions, the team would begin to gain a reputation as daredevils, for the way they approached their missions, working as a well tuned machine that emerged victorious time and time again against everything that would be tossed towards them. 

It was also during this time that her prowess as a swordswoman would begin to be known. First as a whisper that spread like wildfire, as she was noted to be brutal with her swordplay but showed enough restraint when her missions demanded it from her. She took such rumors as a badge of honor, something to be proud of as her abilities grew even further, turning her pride into sheer arrogance.

By the time she was sixteen, she and her teammates were experienced enough to be considered to be given the rank of Tokubetsu Jonin. It was in that final mission before she was given that rank that she would taste defeat and learn the value of humility after blood had been spilled. 

It was on a mission to Law Country in which they were tasked to protect a nobleman in which they were betrayed by an ambitious relative of the man they were protecting, and given false information. Whilst they had been expecting enemies, they faced mercenary shinobi with a ten to one disadvantage. 

The battle that ensued within the walls of the castle the nobleman called home were nothing short of chaos, as disaster turned into a bloodbath. Hanami was cut off from Katsuhiro and Kanae with them trying to escort away the man as their team leader would try to act like decoy. 

Relying in her speed and her skills with the sword and Bukijutsu, Hanami would cut her way through her enemies to reach her team, spraying the walls with arterial red blood as despair mounted in her mind. It wasn't until she reached the final chamber in the escape route in which she had found his teammates mortally wounded and the nobleman on the verge to being cut down. Using her speed she would intercept the attacker and slayed him. Securing the man first she would then go to tend her friends.

Finding Katsuhiro pinned beneath a collapsed pillar and Kanae having received a grievous wound. Looking at them in despair, she would try to use what little knowledge of medicine she had to cure them, to patch them until a proper medic or apothecary that could save them, yet nothing could be done but to ease her passing and have her friends die in her arms. 

By the time a relief arrived, she would learn that her own Jonin leader had also being overwhelmed and had died, having slain no less than a dozen of her enemies. She returned to the village alone and heartbroken at being the sole survivor of the team, feeling that she had failed her team and was undeserving of the praise that she had been given. 

Taking some time off, she would carry the weight until her father told her that if she had wanted to be worthy of the praise and of living, she should continue to fight for the village in memory of those whom she had lost. Slowly but surely she would comprehend the wisdom of her father and would carry on.

By the time she had turned seventeen she was promoted to Tokubetsu Jonin and rather than joining one of the operations squads she joined GOKA, becoming one of the operatives and began to earn a name for herself, not only because her skill with the blade but also with the efficient way in which she disposed of targets and completed assignments. 

She would continue to do so for years, following the commands of her commanders, content of the work that she was doing a difference out there. Although as time passed and she began to enjoy the sole act of slaying she wondered if she had chosen the correct path. Again given assurances by her superiors she managed to suppress the killing urge although she came to the conclusion that taking command wasn't something she was necessarily fit for.

Hanami would continue with GOKA for years, receiving a promotion to Jonin at the age of twenty-three and taking a roll as with some of the new members of the unit, still showing her rebukes and bluntness, but managing to convince the new members of the unit to accept the reality of their role. Eventually she would leave the special operations unit and applied to become one of the bodyguards of the newly elevated Lady of Yukigakure, standing as a protector and enforcer for the new lady as the village entered into a new era.
