To say that Yamato was excited would be an understatement. It had been quite some time since the Kusa shinobi had attended a Chuunin Exams, but if that weren't enough, there two other reasons why he was filled with happiness to be in Yuki no Kuni. It had been a few days since his arrival in Byakuya, and every day since he had spend his time exploring what the tourist village had to offer, but also looking for a familiar blonde head. They had agreed to meet up at the exams during their last meeting, back by the border of their home countries, but because he had never been to Yuki no Kuni, they had been unable to detail an exact location. He was careful to not let his search completely consume him, though with each passing day he felt just a bit more heartache.

Stopping in front of a stall that sold trinkets, the special jounin took a few moments to browse the vendor's wares, dark brown eyes carefully examining the beautifully crafted jewlery pieces. A wave of deja vu washed over him as his gaze settled on two particularly eyecatching necklaces, one of which was a sparkling blue stone in the shape of an raindrop, and the other a green stone carved into three connected triangles, the symbol for Kusagakure. He wasn't too sure why he was so entranced by the pieces, he had outgrown the desire to wear such things, but he supposed he still liked eye-shopping. Looking up from the wares and to his side, it seemed that fate had set this moment up just perfectly, the back of the very person he had been looking for all this time facing his direction.

Yamato stepped away from the stall without a word, slow walk turning to a brisk trot and speeding up until he was practically running at the woman. From the rear, he had noted that she was wearing more clothes than he was used to seeing her in, which made identifying her just a bit more difficult, but from her hair, he was confident that he was right, and if he was wrong well... this would be a rather awkward exchange. Once he was close enough, Yamato practically tackled the woman from behind, cloak fluttering as hands weaved under her arms and around her waist, signature book and arms pressed against her torso as he pulled her into a tight embrace. Chin was promptly placed atop her shoulder with a question spoken directly into her ear.

"Guess who?~"

His voice would no doubt give away the answer to said question, but if she needed to make visual confirmation, she'd find that Yamato's attire was a bit different from how it had been the last time they had met. Overall, the outfit was far less flashy than before, bells and whistles and purple accents removed in exchange for single color, solid designs, with a flak jacket also joining the ensemble. Putting the attire aside though, the man himself looked the same as ever, fair hair and skin making him look much more like a denizen of Yuki no Kuni than one of his actual homeland.

Time passed by in such interesting ways~ One day she was so blissfully happy in the country she knew and the next? In a frozen tundra! Amazing and interesting~ For this was what her family heritage would have ultimately come from, right? Stories her mother had told her about the clans splitting in their history. Yukigakure cut into that of the North and that of Kirigakure’s branches. They didn’t get along, or so she had been told. But it was fitting for their bloodline. For her ability. Her skin was tingling in the cold, inches of her shown off just as they might typically have been. Her mother warned her of at least a little modesty, not to draw attention to their bloodline among the frozen Yukigakure. But only so much had been listened to~ The girl a free spirit forever, her wardrobe was at least of some change.

Tall tall boots! So warm! Something of that idea, at least. The girl was certainly in more subdued colors than normal, but no less free to move and go! Or at least felt she was. A dress upon the girl’s figure, curiously covering more of her and her skin snuggled up in a lot more fabrice than it was used to. Though bottom hem would tease high at her thighs and cloth hug her shapely hips. Little waist clearly noted in figure though loosening towards the upper half of her boy. Neck left open and shoulders bare, blonde her aflight around her as it messily was tied back. Long sleeves upon the girl, all in all a rather odd outfit for the young girl. But cute as a button all the same~ In blue, but at least shining bright pinks.

Her and Yamato were supposed to meet here! Befitting fate, the two often met at the chunin exams the nations boasted. Their first meeting all those years ago repeated again and again in varying nations. This one going to be the same! They promised~ The travel up there had been long and she accompanied those that were competing from her own village. Some of them even her students who had excelled at alarming rates~ Proud and happy, the bright blonde had looked for him on the first day in the village yet not a boy in sight. Perhaps he hadn’t gotten there yet? But faith was in her that she would find him~ Not a worry held in her bright self.

The shops! Stalls, vendors, and all that lovely strip~ There were things galore to look at, to want and to buy~ The girl herself looking over a variety of fine silks and colors, bright eyes dancing over the shimmering pieces with interest and adoration. Words of praise given to the vendor as she’d pluck one from the stall and lift it in her hands. Feeling over it, looking and appraising! Then with a grin and happy chirp, purchased the brightly colored fabric. Sky blue with patterns of snowflakes delicately stitched through. A lovely prize~ And one she carried as eyes danced between stalls she’d walk between.

A sudden yelp of surprise, high pitched call as she was hit with weight and arms tugged around her body. Hand immediately cold and ready to strike, the green eyes of the female narrowed and head turning towards the one who assaulted her even as they were thrown forward.

Only for her to grin. Immediately pacified and her heart leaping for joy.

"Yamato~”

Practically whispered but cooing with affection. Girl raising her arms and a small twirl of her hips would have the slippery seal attempting to spin around in his hug. Face him and slip her arms around his neck. Tugged in close, curvy little female pressed up against the Kusagakure shinobi~ With lips meant to connect and hold in a warm greeting all her own. Affection allowed to linger, if he would. Then her tugging away with a grin to her lips and soft tug at the back of his hair.

"You’re lucky I didn’t freeze your balls right off~”

A tease and a wink, though not untrue… a little bit of a chill at her fingers even as they teased across the back of his neck. Something maybe she could have very well done~ But no actual threat towards the one she knew. Held close in more ways than one even.

"How long have you been here? Miss me~?”

A little giggle given afterwards, the girl not completely ready to tug back nor examin him from head to toe. Flak jacket would have been obvious though… had he ever worn one before?

The sudden yelp was definitely unexpected, and nearly enough to have the man release his grip on the blonde prematurely, but his persistence paid off when Akemi quickly recognized him, her sweet calling of his name filling him with a long overdue bubbly happiness. He most certainly wasn't ready for what came next, but that wasn't to say it wasn't welcome. Wriggling around in his embrace, the blonde managed to turn and face him, bright green eyes meeting with his momentarily before she pulled him into an surprise kiss. Yamato could feel all the tension in him disappear, simply letting his body melt into their shared affection for several moments until they inevitably pulled away. There was a strong blush in his cheeks as the woman sent some light teasing his way, not an uncommon look for him but certainly more pronounced in the cold atmosphere of Yuki no Kuni.

"You say that as if they weren't already!"

Despite the light chilling at the back of his neck, his embrace was only tightened further, their kiss feeling far too short for how long they had spent apart. There would definitely be more time for them to spend together now that they had reunited though, and he'd like to think that it was the quality of time spent together that mattered more than the amount of time itself. There was a gentle 'clink' as he pressed his forehead against hers, noses nuzzled against each other as he happily answered her.

"Just a few days, and of course~"

And finally a gentle pulling away from their embrace, if allowed, hand running down her arm with fingers interlocking into hers as he returned the question, curious as to how long it had been since Akemi had arrived in the snowy country.

"What about you? How long have you been in Byakuya?"

At the same time, he began pulling her along by the hand, slow steps down the street without a specific destination in mind, though it would be nice to find a place to sit down and catch up. Brown eyes glanced to the snow-flake patterned fabric in her hands, one of his eyebrows arching and a playful grin forming at his lips.

"I see you've been doing some shopping, have you eaten recently? Wanna grab a bite?"

It seemed that the pair always shared a meal whenever they met, but in all honesty, what was there not to like about partaking in one of life's greatest pleasures with pleasant company? Besides, it was always good to sample the cuisine of foreign places and it wasn't as if Yamato would get many chances to visit Yuki no Kuni in the future.

Finally! They had found one another~ Had been a long while since she saw him and she got a long deserved kiss. Something that didn’t seem to embarrass her quite as much as it did him, for while he blushed she carried on with the same amount of energy and glee that she had started with. A giggle to his words and a rather obvious glance down towards the referenced male freezing… poor thing. Something she apparently thought she’d help with rolling her hips into him and staying all the closer. A grin and tilt of her head almost to ask ‘that better?’ Despite how she teased his neck with the cool of her touch. He’d be tugging her in anyway. Their foreheads one to another with soft sound of their equipment meeting. Enemy nations~ But hardly what she considered him. No one was enemies at the Chunin Exams anyway! Right?

Warm and affectionate, little nuzzle of noses and quiet giggle from the playful girl. "Miss you, too.” something spoken quieter and with honesty, a simple moment of genuine affection presented after he had answered he’d missed her. She was busy at home, no doubt! But she did think of him often. Wonder what he was up to and what he was teaching! How he was progressing~ They sent letters, but few things compared to these few warm moments with him. It was nice to be with people!

Easily moving with him, his hand teasing down her arm and their hands gently intertwined. The little couple walking down the way with the female keeping a rather light and almost skipping step to her. Eyes often turning his way, though time and again looking ahead with bright smile on her lips.

"Got in two nights ago~ It’s so different up here! There’s so much snow.”

Eyes glimmering at that comment. Yukigakure was totally frozen. A different and fantastic atmosphere for her. She felt free and thriving. How could her clan have ever split and moved somewhere else? This felt like home~ But his comment on shopping caught her attention again. A moment where she didn’t know what he was getting at, but then grinning when she followed his gaze. The fabric! It was beautiful! And with a quick flurry of hands and fingers, she’d wrap the smooth and snowy fabric loosely around their hands and laugh while speaking.

"What’s mine is yours!”

The tease given but the hand in the fabric wrapped with his would suddenly tighten when it hit her what he said. Eyes widening and her energy all the more present.

‘Yess! Let’s get something sweet~ It’s my favorite! Just like you, right?”

Light hearted and teasing all the more, but seemingly even more pressing to go forward and urging them on. Something the boy might have needed to try and curb… for if they weren’t careful they’d end up on a bench surrounded in cups of mochi ice cream.

Yamato's heart leapt with joy as his sentiments and gentle displays of affection were returned, the interlocking of their fingers happening so naturally that it was almost as if they spent much more time together than they actually did. There was no resistance as the young man pulled Akemi along, in fact he nearly had to pick up his own pace as she skipped forward, soon revealing that she had been in Byakuya for just about as long as he had, as well as commenting on just how much snow there was. To that, Yamato was inclined to agree, though he wasn't quite as excited as she was about the colder temperature. He was a much bigger fan of the warm pastures of Nohara no Kuni, but as long as he had Akemi by his side, he'd endure just about any sort of climate.

The fabric was something that Akemi had seemed to have forgotten until Yamato brought it up, but as soon as attention was drawn, the blonde was quick to wrap it around their hands. Now they were loosely secured to each other, hindering him from extracting his hand from hers, not that he wanted to of course. He burst into a giggle at her overly-excited response to his suggestion, familiar blush rushing into his cheeks at her flirtatious compliment. It was his turn to squeeze her hand, and he followed it with a gently tugging of her arm, playfully bumping his shoulder against hers as he searched for a suitable street vendor to satisfy that sweet tooth of hers. It only took a few moments to find something that fit the bill, and with yet another gentle pull, Yamato diverted them to the side, approaching a stall with traditional Noren separating the 'inside' from the 'outside'.

From the outside, Yamato could tell that all the seats were empty, and he pushed through the hanging fabrics with his free hand, head poking through and searching for the shopkeep. He spotted her almost immediately, an elderly woman with mostly gray hair though she did still have a healthy streaks of black still. She had noticed the couple approaching well before they actually pushed through the curtains, and she was already gesturing for the two young shinobi to take a seat.

"Come, sit! Shake off that Byakuya chill, what can I get you youngin's? Tea? Coffee? Something sweet treats perhaps?"

While it would've been obvious from the name posted out on top of the stall, looking at the menu would only confirm that this nice old lady was a vendor of sweet treats, ranging from freshly cooked crepes to chocolate dipped fruit. Yamato graciously moved into a seat as he considered his options, a gentle hum being drawn out until he came to a decision.

"I'll have green tea please! And an order of dango~ And she'll have...?"

He turned to face the pretty blonde by his side, one curious eyebrow raised to see what her selection would be.

It was a sweet bit of time together that the two made the most of. Returning to displays of friendliness and affection that seemed to never take a hit even after all these sporadic years. Hands tied together, a little glimmer of laughter when he bumped her shoulder. Things were easy, happy, and nice. The blonde hadn’t felt like she made such difference and brought such joy since the last time she saw him. A perfect fulfilling to the young one’s dreams.

Yamato tugged her along. The girl happily looking around but him leading in the end. Strides strong and purposeful! WHile showing her the way. Tucked beneath the fabrics and finding they were the only ones present! The girl excited to get food though~ Something sweet! As her sweet tooth really did forever reign..

Something the poor boy was sure to witness. Not about to be stuck in the middle of the fields near the edges of Grass Country, the girl was offered up food at a stall! Options! She had money! And she was hungry! Eyes sparkling with delight and menu offering up a various amount of goods, the poor boy would witness the older woman make a nice chunk of change that day.

"We’ll share! Kay~? Daifuku and Mochi too, please. And can we… get like a big bowl of chocolate? With strawberries, cherries, bananas, and pineapple? So we can dip them! "

Shining bright and alive at her request, practically bouncing in her seat. That would be fine, right? A happy glance to her partner and then that of the woman to get confirmation, then giving Yamato another firm squeeze of her hand.

"I definitely could just eat the chocolate~”

A giggle and then pause, playful smirk to her lips as eyes would drag over the boy beside her in a slow gaze. Then another laugh~ Happy and delighted as she practically pulled him to her to nab a kiss to his cheek.

Looking at his companion, Yamato was pleased to see that he had made the right decision, the blonde's eyes filled with excitement as she looked over the menu. He could practically sense her mouth watering. There was no uncertainty in Akemi's voice as she belted out exactly what she wanted, eclipsing the Kusa shinobi's order with a salvo of confections and fruits. Of course, he had absolutely no objections. While he wasn't a big eater by nature, he knew that sharing the sweets with Akemi would make her happy, and that would make him happy in turn. A quick and eager nod was Yamato's response to the glance in his direction, prompting the granny behind the bar to get right to work. As she turned away to prepare and gather their orders, the Kusa shinobi felt a gentle squeeze of his hand, smile growing on his face as Akemi piped up with that humor he had sorely missed.

"And I could just eat fruit!"

Just from the look the blonde gave him, Yamato could tell what she was about to do, and in a cheeky maneuver he simply turned his face as she pulled him in, pressing his lips against hers as he did his best to suppress a giggle of his own, albeit unsuccessfully. It didn't help that that was the precise moment the old lady turned back with their tea, wrinkled face expressing surprised amusement as she set the cups before them.

"Oh my~ So bold~"

With a chuckle, the woman turned back to continue preparing their treats, but that didn't stop Yamato's face from turning beet red, hand that held Akemi's squeezing tight while the other fumbled to grab the teacup. He hastily brought the drink to his lips, anything to distract from their very adventurous PDA. The tea was, of course, too hot to drink right away, and so the cup was set back down.

"So um... you come here often?"

There were many loves in life, but food was definitely up near the top. Especially if the food included sweets! Which her order definitely did. A bowl of chocolate would have been something the girl would have enjoyed every single day of her life. Surely adults knew better, or something. But a special occasion such as being out with Yamato was surely worth something so awesome! Agreed to and ordered, with the girl sparking a little more of the interest in missing him as she looked him over Not that he was revealing in any way, but still the young man she was quite fond of being around.

His comment was in answer to hers, even with her plan soon in action! A kiss to his cheek meant to be snagged and stolen, yet never to meet its mark. Arguably something better~ For the girl that liked sweets so much, sugar taken with the couple’s lips to meet. The playful giggle that surely would have met her lips at his comment would turn a little sweeter. The girl leaning in a second longer to savor further what she had missed over the past few months.

The woman waiting on them would comment, gaining a giggle from the blonde and a sudden reaction from her companion as well. Giggling quietly all the more, squeezing his hand encouragingly back, she’d grin all the same towards the woman still working on their order.

"I swear he’s a whole new man from the last time I saw him. Bold must be a new feature~”

A tease and chuckle, wink sent his way with her opposite hand taking to her lips and blowing him a quick kiss. Perhaps the public display was a little much for him, but the blonde swung through it without issue… her thought and process for such things so much more loose. And the woman didn’t seemed dismayed nor upset, so what reason was there to restrain? Other than his beet red face of course~ Cute as it may be.

"Hm… We could~ Feel like moving North with me?”

A smile to her lips even as she answered. Fairly sure he hadn’t meant it that way in the first place, but teasing and playing along in another. She was just uncertain enough that he might have been hinting to visit this place more often as she was him asking the award lifting question on if she had been there in the past.

"I’m pretty good in the cold. It’s like prime weather for me~

I’ll snuggle you warm too~”

Openly expressing her joy with the snow, but soft tug and voice falling a bit closer as her words on contact and affection with him were placed more ‘secretly’ between them.

Yamato was already stewing in embarrassment from his adventurous little maneuver, but the comments from the shopkeep and Akemi only added to the red that was overtaking his face. Even his attempt to change the subject was met with Akemi's signature flirty remarks, unrelenting blonde continuing to tease him with words and actions. Despite the cold weather, Yamato couldn't help but feel remarkably warm while in her presence.

"Mmm, that's a very tempting offer but..." He hesitated as he considered playing along, though now that the initial burst of excitement from seeing Akemi again was dying down, he remembered he had some more serious things to share. Seeing the bright smile on Akemi's face though, he decided that he'd rather simply enjoy himself for now. There was always time for serious talk later! "... my little pigeon friends certainly wouldn't be able to handle this weather~"

While he would've been content simply to continue as they were, being in each others' presence, hands clasped together, there was a reason why they had come here in the first place! A fact brought to the forefront of their attention as the kindly lady returned and placed several small bowls of fruit before them, complete with a larger bowl of hot, melted chocolate in the middle.

"Here you go dearies, and I'll have the rest of your order out in just a minute."

It wasn't until the treats were set in front of him that the Kusa shinobi realized how much he had been anticipating them, mouth watering as he took hold of a toothpick and considered which of the fruit pieces he wanted to spear first. Banana ended up being his choice, and his toothpick was swiftly speared into a neatly cut slice of fruit, soon to be dipped in the chocolate bowl.

Moving up North would have been interesting! She was super fine in the cold and Yuki no Kuni was pretty great! But it was mostly a joke, mostly. It was a little bit exciting to think about moving somewhere with Yamato. Butterflies fluttering in her stomach and she’d giggle even as he answered. His hesitation was fine, she didnt’ mean it anyway~ For him to even bring some real reason for it!

"Oh! No, they’d be super cold. Birds don’t do great in cold, do they? We’ll have to stick with warmer weather!”

Eager and happy, the laughter off the girl’s lips easily agreed along with him. A thumb ran lightly along his skin, hands still held together and her perfectly fine with being there and that wisp of fabric tying them together. It was kinda cute~ Like some magical fairytale where fates intertwined and were wed by a knot! A warm smile on her face at the thought. Kind of like a dream too~ For she had always thought that someday she’d have the whole family thing. Husband. Kids~ It was the journey to get there that always escaped her. How to find someone that rose above the others. How ‘love’ was different. And looking to Yamato… Maybe she still didn’t know. Everyone always seemed so certain about that word when they spoke it.

Her heart was full though~ She knew that much. She liked being with him and never wanted to see him hurt. As long as she could make him smile.

"Thanks so much! It looks great!”

Excited and shift of tone, the sweet thoughts instantly brushed aside as food showed up. Food, but most importantly, sugar! Something she’d dive into right away while Yamato carefully sought out his plan and pick. A bright grin on her face and hand tightening in his. The free hand to dip her finger directly in that hot chocolate and after a few breathy exclamations at the temperature change, she’d plop that chocolate covered finger right in her mouth! Pleased and happy, she’d hum in delight before glancing bright green eyes his way.

"It’s good!”

If there had been any slowness or hesitation on his part it wouldn’t have been fruit that was in his mouth first… a bright blonde at his side soon dipping her finger back in chocolate, barely swiping it through before popping her pointer finger in his mouth as well. Bright and gleaming for him to take his own try!

Yamato smiled as they 'resolved' to stick to their current living situation, happily focusing his attention to the sweet treats in front of the pair. He was far more methodical in which fruits he chose to eat, but Akemi was the direct opposite, heartily digging with her finger. A slice of banana would have been his first choice, toothpick hovering just over the bowl but he once again became a victim of his partner's spontaneity.

The blonde quickly tasted the chocolate for herself, using her finger as the mode of transport as opposed to a speared piece of fruit. And she was quick to cover her finger in chocolate again, only this time headed straight for his mouth. Paradoxically, he opened his mouth to try and ask her to stop, but that was precisely the sort of opening that Akemi needed to succeed, her chocolate covered finger landing squarely onto his tongue. At that point, Yamato had no choice but to accept his fate, closing his mouth and eating the chocolate. The red in his cheeks reached an all time high, practically one more shade away from smoke pouring off his head. The Kusa shinobi was quick to remove his mouth from her finger, squirming a bit in his seat as gathered his bearings.

"I... agree. It is good."

His voice was definitely quieter now, but even with his embarrassment there was a smile on his face. It was only fair that he return the affection right? And so he finished acting on his decision from earlier, poking a banana slice neatly with his toothpick before dipping it into the chocolate. It was held there for a moment before being scooped back upwards, pushed towards Akemi's mouth instead.

"Um.. how about we try with some fruit too now?"

Even as he held up the piece of fruit for Akemi to eat, Yamato had a hard time maintaining eye contact with her. It was incredibly strange going from his usual lifestyle to suddenly indulging in so much affection and closeness, but despite his awkwardness it also felt strangely natural.

Shot and success~ Chocolate dipped on her finger and delivered between the young man’s lips, red was noted on his face and the blonde gave a little giggle. Were it anyone else she may have refrained from a more embarrassing course of action but Yamato was quite a bit closer and well known to her~ Playful and forward as she knew he could handle even if his face would brighten up. Glad and chuckling again as he made quick work of the offered treat and whipped the finger back into her own mouth to make sure no remnants of the chocolate was left over from his quick departure!

"Mhm~ Who knew the North could be so sweet!”

Excited for the food, sugar was one of her main indulgences! A toothpick sought out by her own hand readily and eyes flitting over the fruit to engage with the food proper when she noticed the banana he had stabbed not going for himself? A glance towards him just as he’d make his intentions known, the vague bit of questioning on her face would turn warmer with that surprise return gesture.

"Sure thing~”

More softly spoken and soothed over, the hands of theirs wrapped in that glittering fabric she had only recently bought would make sure to stay intertwined with his. Thumb running gently over his hand in assurance and with a bit of an attempt to lighten those features and red on his face. They’d been friends since they met. He could always count on her.

Deep thoughts that might never be revealed in such simple gestures~ But the moment passed swiftly with a smiling girl opening her mouth and taking the offered food. Chewing happily and giving another soft chuckle, a banana swiftly stuck by her own stick and swiped through chocolate. More haphazard and sudden with her energy and eagerness, but offered back up to him all the same giving her just a moment more to chew, the hints of chocolate staining her lips.

"Only right to give you some too~”

She would have continued on that same pattern as well, unless he’d broken it. Happy to feed him! They didn’t get to spend a lot of time together and what few moments they did she wanted to make the most of. Her body felt light with him, there was happiness there, for she also made him happy. Teasing and light, even if brief, seeing all of these new places in a sense of peace and calm was a blessing in itself among their occupation and their respective nations.

"Definitely not me!"

Yuki no Kuni was so far from Kusagakure, a part of a continent and an ocean separating the two. It was rare to need to know much of anything about the country covered in snow and ice, and seeing just how lively it was came as an interesting surprise. He smiled sheepishly as Akemi finally took note of the slice of banana he offered to her, pulling the toothpick smoothly away after she accepted it. Yamato didn't focus on it specifically, but he could feel the subtle touches that Akemi gave him every so often, his own hand responding naturally with similar actions.

And of course Akemi had to return his small offering of fruit, holding up a chocolate covered banana piece for him to eat. Yamato happily leaned forward to take the bite, though of course this was the precise moment that the elderly lady returned with their orders of daifuku and mochi, earning the couple another cheeky chuckle.

"Ohoho my, you two are just the sweetest darndest things I've seen~"

Once again the Kusa shinobi was hit with a wave of embarrassment, but he was starting to get used to it, so his complexion didn't shift too drastically. Even so, he was more than happy to continue the back and forth of feeding each other. It felt increasingly natural after a few rotations, especially with each of them only having the use of one hand.

"Hrm... not quite but.. I have a good feeling it'll be in one of the Konoha aligned nations... Maybe Kaminari no Kuni? Maybe even my home nation! Wouldn't that be a treat~"

As he amused himself with the thought of Akemi being able to freely visit him in his homeland, he chose an especially tasty looking daifuku ball to impale before presenting it to Akemi, potentially interrupting any reply to his conjecture.

Sharing a bit of Yukigakure culture over something sweet~ It was lovely! And the words of the elderly lady only had her grin further. That smile burning brightly as she’d turn her attention momentarily that way..

"Sweet things are the best~ And he’s my favorite.”

Perhaps childish words from the girl, but enjoyed and sincere for what they were. Yamato helped her smile even when things didn’t seem the best. Her friend for years and someone so easy to draw to her side the moment they were together again.

The bits of food shared between them and he grew used to it, something that made her feel a little more at ease as well. Never truly uncomfortable, but things were better when he felt safe with her. As cute as his flustered reactions might be~ Little bits of talking broke up their snack? Meal? And Yamato mentioning something that had her face brighten all the more.

"No-??”

Exclamation of his home nation full of excitement only to be cut off by a sudden treat presented to her. Held there and her green eyes focusing on it to stop her words in their tracks. A blink. Then giggling as she leaned into the food and bit into the daifuku ball. Only partially… but enough to slip it away from him and leave him empty handed. Hand to her mouth, she’d finish that bite and pluck the remaining half from her lips. Reaching out to him in return to share that singular ball before they’d dig in more!

"Nohara? That would be awesome! If it is you have to stake out all the best spots to take me to!”

It might not be his village, but it would be his nation! Perhaps. THere was no real guarantee unil things were all decided, announced and said and done. But the idea was thrilling to her and she didn’t quite want to let go. Excited all the more, she might have quickened their pace in eating a little more. A lot had been ordered… but Akemi was one who typically overbought her stomach and had plenty to take with her elsewhere. Or give away!

"I’m fuuulll.”

The girl giggled and leaned from her own seat to his shoulder, resting on him in that bridge between their seats. A deep inhale in and then exhaled happily, food still definitely present before them in both chocolate, fruit, dango, and other options…

"Can we pack this up and take it?

I wanna go look around some more. I’ll get you something to take home and you can get me something~ If that’s okay?”

The frist bit spoken excitedly to the woman, hoping they could take their food back! Then presumptuous suggestion given to Yamato as she turned to him beaming, only momentarily thinking it might have been rude to tell him to spend money on her and backtrack to make it a suggestion and ask.

Yamato once again found himself squirming in his seat as Akemi blatantly showered him with verbal affection. The young man spent most of his time teaching younger students or reporting to older higher-ups, and so being thought of as someone's 'favorite' warmed his heart greatly. Which made it all the more sweet when he shared his relatively good news, even as inconclusive as it was. It seemed even the chance of the next exams taking place in Nohara no Kuni was enough to greatly excite his blonde partner, though she was rightly distracted by the presentation of more food. He expected her to take the entire treat all at once, but once again she surprised him by only biting off half before giving him the rest! The Kusa shinobi accepted the daifuku gratefully, if not a bit sheepishly, and he soon found himself nodding readily in agreement with Akemi's suggestion.

"Of course! I know juuuust the place I'll have to take you to first~"

Even if it wasn't confirmed quite yet, Yamato already began thinking of all the places he'd have to take Akemi if the exams took place in Nohara no country, planning all sorts of activities they could do, though he'd be happy just so long as they got to see each other again soon.

Eventually though, both of the academy instructors had their fill, and he chuckled as he felt her leaning against him in defeat and satisfaction.

"Of course dearie, here are some boxes~"

The old lady had been keeping an eye on them as they ate and conversed, and the carry-out containers had been readied long before this point.

"Of course that's okay, sounds fun! Oh, and can't forget..."

Speaking of money, Yamato hadn't missed the obvious glance the older lady was throwing their way. His coinpurse was hastily fished out of one of his pockets and he carefully laid out the payment for their meal/snack on the counter. After taking care of their bill, he made sure to help in packing up their leftovers, if Akemi hadn't already done so before him. With Akemi's hand in one hand, and their leftovers in the other, Yamato hurriedly pulled them back out into the Byakuya street, eyes blinking rapidly to adjust to the brightness as well as looking for the first place he wanted to go.
