[Uchiha Umetaro]

Umetaro's jaw was set in a grimace the entire time they were waiting. This was actually, literally, awful. It inspired awe, but in a bad way. Maybe all of those mangas where people battled for the entertainment of others were... bad? Actually? There was nothing but dread in his heart as he closed his hand around the handle of Tengubi: Hotaru's black gunbai of flames. 

Of course their two opponents were the exact people they were expecting. This was all a set up for then that woman with the fan could win it all for... reasons? Umetaro wasn't exactly sure what exactly the stakes were here. Pride? Money? Giving Umetaro and Miho's patron a fright? It all... didn't make a lot of sense. He didn't really get this whole "social politics" thing people were always saying was important. Why didn't they just say what the meant, and what was on their minds? 

Regardless, the battle was beginning. Umetaro merely blinked when the lights fell upon him and Miho. Reflexively, his eyes deepened in hue, the black ring swirling within them. Enhanced perception was always a must in fights like these. Who knows what they would be capable of? Umetaro had been practicing being faster than his oppenents: Time to see how much progress he'd made.

The stage was set as it were, the players ready...it was now time for the show to begin... As Miho and Umetaro would begin their descent toward the floor, she'd note the change within her partner's eyes, realizing his resolve in taking this seriously. It was no different for her, allowing her hands to twist around each other, stretching her fingertips as she extended the back of her palms outward, feeling and hearing the subtle crack that came after. Their targets weren't exactly fair players, and it was clear that they would likely attempt a similar tact when the match between them began. The question was how they were to proceed with this? How did they deal with them? Upon entering the ringed off area of the chambers, Miho would watch their opponents do the same, the taller male assisting Usiga as the girl was so small next to him. Still, the fierce gaze of her eyes indicated that there was more to her than simple physical differences. Toji was still a mystery, but her assumption of being a medic was not out of the question. He matched the person she saw, no question about that. But what else did he hold in his arsenal? With the combatants now center stage, Lord Sengi would speak once more as he stood upon the staircase. Ah, so their opponents had names. Usiga Minako, huh? He'd be sure to remember that, should the two of them ever meet again. She might be interesting to talk to, to learn about all of that chakra sensing technique stuff that Umetaro was hopeless at. But at that moment? She was an enemy, and Umetaro didn't want to find out what she and her scary medic companion could do if he lost. 

He looked over to Miho right before the announcement to begin sounded. She was likely capable of handling the medic on her own: they seemed more matched in strength than he would be against him. So he'd focus on Miss Violet Eyes, Usiga Minako. Umetaro's one tomoe could match her sensory prowess to a point, and he definitely had the visual edge, at the very least. 

"The battle is set! ITS TIME FOR US TO BEGIN! Fighters!! May the will of Fire be with you all! GO!!"

Ugh, why was it always Will of Fire this, Will of Fire that? Couldn't they just have normal wills? Do normal fights? Still, it was time to get going, and Umetaro took off at a running start. He had been working on his speed. He needed to remind himself of that. He could be the faster one, easily.

These weren't fights to the death, right?

All eyes were on them now. The bell had been rung, and it seemed that the match was indeed on... As the two teams squared off, Miho would look over toward Umetaro, her expression more serious as she braced herself. "I'll take Toji...you can handle Usiga..." With that said, the woman would allow chakra to flow into her lower limbs, her body getting low to the ground as she launched herself forward. Her frame was much like a black blur, disappearing across the ring floor, her pace in motion steady and precise. In second, she was already where the tall male was, her hand extended out into a palm strike. Yet as she did this, he'd seem to flow around her, his pace quickened as he then attempted what looked to be a strike with his knee into her chest. The blow would connect, knocking the wind from her chest, but enough to make her aware of his action. He was a medic, as well as proficient in combat. It was almost as if he was more than aware of her own move set. Reeling back, Miho would grit her teeth as the man seemed to draw out a kunai, tossing it within the air as he waved in her direction. "Adachi Miho...or is it Senju Miho? I do forget to remember when names change...I saw your matches in the exams...most impressive..." "Then you know what I'm capable of...." Toji would grin as he then held out his arms, moving them in an almost circular motion before extending out a single fist. "Mostly...you and your friend...But it's different....its the reason why we saved you for last..." Umetaro had half a mind to pay attention to Miho's fighting, but he couldn't let that distract him, as entertaining as that might be. She was probably an accomplished fighter, if she was drafted to come out for this. Umetaro was chosen for... well, he wasn't exactly sure. Maybe the name "Uchiha" added more gravitas to it all. He was just a genin, so it wasn't like Umetaro himself was famous or anything like that. 

His opponent was coming up, fast. She was much shorter than him, which could make things awkward. Umetaro had the height and range on her, with Tengubi in tow, but she would probably find it easy to dodge under and around his strikes, especially if he was aiming for her midsection. 

"I see you, this time," Umetaro commented as he went in for his first strike. It was a testing blow, to see how she'd react. Hopefully he could get this over with quickly and go to assist Miho with the medic. 

"As do I," Minako said, moving quickly out of the way. She returned with a volley of open handed strikes of her own, which Umetaro did his best to block with Tengubi. She didn't seem to mind.

This wasn't going to be easy.

"You may come to regret that..." Battle Music Pulling herself back into a stance, her eyes narrowed before flicking a slight shade of green beneath the light from above. From there, it was simply a matter of moving in. As Miho rushed forward, her body would slide across the the floor, appearing as though she might be trying to speed his legs from beneath him. With Toji jumping to the side, he'd float for a moment within the air, the Kunai flying from his fingertips in the dark haired woman's direction. This was a moment he had been waiting for. A challenge that could be worthy of his skills. Whom better than the supposed Konoha-Canon herself... His weapon soaring her direction, Miho would quickly roll to the side, her hand charging with chakra before slapping the weapon to the side. It seemed to not end there as she launched herself within the air, taking hold of Toji before slamming her forehead against his own. The collision was enough to knock him back, the female landing upon the ground as she brushed her wrist against her face. "That was for cheating..." Toji, while momentarily stunned, simply rose back up as he shook his head. "I didn't cheat...I simply leveled the playing field...it wasn't as if those fighters would have been of any difference. This...THIS IS THE CHALLENGE I WANTED!!!" Reeling back, his hands would swiftly begin forming seals as what came out of his lips appeared to be oil. Causing it to become inflamed, a ball of fire would be released from his lips, causing it to soar in Miho's direction. The effect alone was bad enough, but if Miho even tried to dodge it... Damn it! The nobles were all around, and leaving it to chance that this fire ball would be stopped by the guards was too risky. So rather than leave it to chance, the young woman would slam her fist down upon the surface, causing the floor to shake as a small crater would rise up, prompting a make-shift shield of tilt to take the impact of the blast coming toward her. As such, along with the training she received from her father and those in the clan, Miho has developed enhanced reflexes. NAME: Kurētāpanchi [Crater Punch] RANK: A CHAKRA USAGE: High CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu ELEMENT: - HANDSEALS: 0 REQUIREMENT: CHAKRA GOURIKI [CHAKRA ENHANCED STRENGTH] DESCRIPTION: Crater Punch is a devastating punch that is only usable by those who have CES. The user will pour chakra into the front of their fists, What looks like inhuman strength, the user will explode their chakra at the extent of a punch which shoots the chakra off at such a rate it feels as if a sonic boom is achieved. Used on the ground to create gigantic craters, the user can utilize this to create devastation to the landscape and flick boulders into the air. As well this technique can also be used without striking an object or landscape, exploding the air itself into a sonic boom, this attack as enough energy to to cause a wind tunnel for a short moment of momentum of wind which only very few people can withstand to stand-in. The result is a giant fireball, fueled by oil, which burns everything engulfed in it. Both of the younger opponents had their attention diverted for a moment as one of the other contestants starting roaring about how "this was the challenge" he wanted or whatever. Umetaro grimaced openly, before he and his opponent returned to trading blows. 

"Is he always like that?" Umetaro asked, keeping up his guard. He was having difficulty in trying to formulate a strategy when she was laying into him with such precise strikes. Weren't her hands getting tired? He had half a mind to really unleash Tengubi, but that seemed excessive. This wasn't supposed to be a duel to the death.

"Yelling? Not usually," Minako replied, before she landed a kick at Umetaro's center of gravity. It knocked him back, but he managed to keep upright. That training session with Rokurou was really coming in handy, wasn't it? Umetaro bounced further back for distance, which forced the violet girl to come running at him to continue her assault, but Umetaro was ready. 

When she got just out of striking distance, Umetaro clapped his hands together, throwing chakra into the sound, before quickly returning to his defense tesenjutsu stance.

"Doton: Fantastic Voyage of Mitsurugi," he said, and that was all it took for the technique to take effect. Minako stopped in her tracks, looking down at her feet with a look of frustration, despite nothing being there.

DESCRIPTION:
After a clap, the opponent will inexplicably begin to sink into the ground beneath them. The ground seemingly spreading up their legs as it seemingly sucks them into the ground, an inch at a time. To the user it seem's impossible to get out, the ground never breaking or relenting. Slowly immobilizing the user, starting with their legs and within two minutes, their entire body. It is easily mistaken for Doton. It can catch one person per casting.

Limit Break These people had no idea how close they were to harm, and it seemed that Toji didn't seem to have much care about it either. He was dedicated to this fight, and putting his strength on full display. As the floor piece seemed to show signs of damage, crumbling within Miho's grip, a sharp image came to the corner of her eye. There on her side was Toji, what looked to be two small objects between his fingers as he slash the objects across her shoulder. Reeling back slightly, she soon feel his fingertip touch against her forehead, prompting her body to become limp. Stalled out, Miho grit her teeth as she felt what could have been a hammer of a punch strike against her face, sending her sliding across the floor. "Haha! Isn't this exciting!? Ya have no idea how much I wanted to try that move out! Poison and numbness! It's probably one of my best moves! Now you just can take the beat down and do nothing about it!!" Unable to move, she could even feel a strange sickness coming over her, making her want to puke as she felt her body being lifted up by the collar of her vest, her eyes narrowed as she felt another blow strike this time at her chest before she was sent backward. This was bad, but this would only stall her for so long...she just had to wait...be patient...and for now...take the supposed beating Toji had intended. But dealing with the poison would be another matter. Already she felt it starting to sink further into her system, prompting her to feel the constant urge to vomit more than just bile. "You..." Minako said under her breath, looking down at her feet. "This isn't real. No, it's not real. I can..."

Umetaro was taken aback as she shook her head from side to side, fighting against invisible earth, before she moved her arm and punched herself in the side of the heard hard enough to make Umetaro wince. In hindsight, he probably should have used the moment to capitalize on his advantage and knock her over, but seeing that turned her his brain off for a moment.

Minako roared and threw herself at Umetaro, and the two of them went tumbling down in a heap, rolling over the battlefield punching and kicking at each other. Umetaro eventually tossed her off of him with a kick to the midsection, and then body flickered away to give himself space. 

"I see you," Minako said, and dashed to where he flickered to, catching him off guard.

Now, the fight was really heating up. Umetaro had completely lost track of what was happening with Miho, as Minako was once again laying into him with everything she had. He had her on the ropes. Her technique was getting sloppy, but she was fierce. He had to figure out a way to beat her at her own game.

Limit Break With the toxin course through her blood-stream, her body unable to move due to the shock, it was taking a lot for Miho to remain focused as she felt the renewal of blows coming against her. Seeming to be flung from one side of the ring to the next, the medic was taking quite the beating. But, it was lulling the man into a opening. He was overconfident, continuing to use close-quarters as his means to attack. So after he seemed to be preparing for one more daunting blow, Miho would make her move. Chakra surging to her lower limbs, she'd blast forward as she used her strength to break free of her immobile state. The distance crossed was quick, but it allowed for the female to slide into her boxing stance. With chakra still flowing into every muscle of her frame, the sudden shift allowed for increase in movement, and from there, it seemed all but over for Toji. He had not expected this sudden burst of speed, nor had he realized that the woman could break out of his supposed combination. While Miho may have been weakened by the poison, that did not seem to stop her from pushing through it. Closing the gap, the surge of rapid-fire jabs and punches seemed to continue, Toji having no choice but to try and defend himself. The speed of the strikes grew every more draining against his guard, unable to keep up with the pace of these string of attacks. Each attack growing harder as the glow around her fist would prompt the clear knowledge that the Konoha-nin was increasing the power behind them. Before long, with gritted teeth, Miho would see the crack in his defenses, stepping in as she hooked her fist beneath his jaw, powering through with the attack to send him flying into the air, his body soaring backward before finally landed across the ground in front of her. Releasing a breath, Miho would then sigh as she could hear the crowd behind her screaming. Yet, she could do little more than wave as she reached into her pouch to retrieve a Toxin suppressant from within. It would do for now, though she questioned if Umetaro was fairing better than she had been previously? "One down...." This can be done in just about any condition, but any techniques that slow the user's movement (such as armor from jutsu or most jutsu that might slow an individual) will still affect them. NAME: Bokusā no Sutansu [Boxer's Stance] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: Medium | Low Continuous CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu ELEMENT: - HANDSEALS: 0 DESCRIPTION: The User will pull his/her hands up in front of the, relaxing their legs to slightly bend and bob their head behind their hands formed into fists, with their less utilized hand in front of their leading hand. Bobbing and weaving, moving their hands constantly in front of their face to block with either the off-hand which is in front or both hands. This stance allows the user to get very close and personal, the constant movement yet relaxed legs allow the user to keep on their feet. Once given an opening the user in this stance can lead with their off-hand to take their opponent off-guard and strike with their leading arm, which pushes from the shoulder, pulling the strength of the delivery by moving their shoulder with the punch to deliver a more strengthened and accurate punch. Within this stance, small jabs breaking the defense of their body with their hands, utilizes to keep their opponent busy and unable to catch a break, this is also a great way to conjure a grapple move. [CES:] As a Chakra enhanced user utilizing this stance, She/he can coat their arms with chakra, along with their hands, delivering powerful, devastating effects differing from the amount of chakra used to the level of destruction. Generating a medium chakra strain to enter, then lowering to a low chakra usage to maintain the stance. NAME: Sokudo [Literally Meaning Speed] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: High [Continuous] CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu ELEMENT: - HANDSEALS: 0 DESCRIPTION: Sokudo is a method of using chakra passively to reinforce the body's physical capabilities. Such things are movement-based rather than just brute strength would. It gives the user's muscle stimulation, allowing increased hand movement, wrist, arms, and even the legs. This can be used to just have everything work more proficiently. Though, after being used for more than seven posts, the user's muscles will be sore as if they just did an extensive workout. IF continued to be used, eleven posts will begin to break down muscle. Miho's fight cleared before Umetaro's did, but not for long. After she injured herself to break out of Umetaro's illusion, Minako was fighting less like a trained combatant and more like a wounded animal. Her sensory skills were still incredible: she made lightning reactions that Umetaro couldn't even fathom how she came up with, but when it came down to brass tacks, she was neglecting her defense. 

It was a valuable lesson in speed, here. Just because you were faster than your opponent didn't mean that you were suddenly going to be able to overwhelm them just like that. Umetaro, with the power of the One Tomoe was able to sense patterns in her movements a little better than he would have otherwise. 

The the combatants were silent as they traded blows, and Umetaro did his best to deflect her strikes. Eventually, she went in for another kick to Umetaro's center, sure it would work again, but Umetaro was anticipating it this time. He flickered behind her slamming her mid back with the hilt of tengubi. Minako crumbled to the ground, and Umetaro lightly placed his foot over her back to keep her from moving. 

He breathed in and out, heavy and labored. Minako was a tough opponent. He looked over to check on Miho, and found that she was already confidently the victor of her round. Finally. They could go home.

Victory had been all but confirmed when Umetaro had managed to get through against his opponent, allowing for him to pin her down as Miho would smile and hold her hand up in his direction with a thumbs up. The two had come here to entertain the masses, which it looked to be successful as the crowd of nobles cheered at this display of strength from Konohagakure's own. Lord Sengi seemed to be jumping for joy, looking to Lady Tena as she seemed more than a bit upset at the final results. Her fighters had come all this way, only to fail when a victory was so easily presented to them? "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!! YOU SAW IT YOURSELVES!! KONOHA'S CHAMPIONS ARE THE WINNERS!!! SENJU MIHO! AND UCHIHA UMETARO!!!!" The roars of the people echoed higher and higher, prompting Miho to sigh as she then at the very least bowed respectfully as she nodded her head toward Umetaro. "I'd say this calls for a quick departure...I'm not really looking forward to the fan-service in which Lord Sengi might have in mind..." Exiting the stage, the female would open the door for her partner as she looked back to see that Lord Sengi was clearly more focused on his champions winner to even notice their leave, which was fine in truth.
