Missions: the building block of any successful shinobi village. Without a war to fight, missions were what gave ninja purpose, bringing in much needed money to their village as well as ensuring that this time of peace remained so, which was why it came as no surprise when Satoshi informed the squad that they'd be embarking on one soon. What was a bit strange, however, was being notified an entire day prior, which gave the Hatake a clue that this mission would be a bit of a detour from their usual routine.
In preparation for their outting, Suzume made sure to visit her father at his forge, asking him to give her weaponry a much more thorough checkup than she could ever do. Once that was complete, the rest of her preparation took little more than a few moments. Unlike some of her colleagues, Suzume preferred to wear her shinobi uniform in her day-to-day life, ensuring that she was always prepared to embark on a mission or respond to a threat. The rest of her gear consisted of the basic shinobi essentials, all conveniently packed away in the pockets of her flak jacket or stowed away in the pouch at her hip. With everything accounted for, Suzume hastily made her way to the meeting point, only to be intercepted halfway to her destination by her longtime friend and teammate, Sada.
The Hatake didn't make a habit of keeping others waiting, especially someone as important as the squad leader, but before she could continue moving the Fiery Uzumaki took her by the hair, fingers deftly braiding her dyed hair. "We're gonna be..." Meek words trailed off immediately, Suzume's timid nature and familiarity with Sada establishing itself. She passively waited for Sada to finish with her hair, a very subtle smile on her face upon hearing the compliment, but not due to the kind words themself. It was the act of bending to another's will that gave the Hatake purpose, and Sada was never short on commands that needed to be fulfilled. Eventually the two made it to the front gate of the village, the Hatake's poor posture dipping even further when she inevitably made eye contact with Satoshi. Sada's commands superseded all, but it still didn't feel right making the Nara wait longer.
