We're no hero inside, we're the monster you need.

It, quite frankly, has been hell since attaining Jingu. Kuni never thought she'd let so many people down, make so many enemies, be so ostracized despite trying so hard to be a good prospect for her Clan Head role. The perception she has of herself is equally as negative. While trying so hard to be human, the dual conflict within her has affected so much of her external life, it just doesn't feel worth it. Still, she has to carry on, she knows she has to. Few good marks remained, her friendship with Sesshoku, her mentor Etsuko, and her love, Shisen Wasurete. That should be enough to bring her joy, but at the end of the day, all she feels is hollow, emptiness, dishonor.

Kunikunosaku knew it wouldn't do much to escape her mind, yet, she still journeyed to Yugakure. Enjoy the apparent rejuvenating springs, it was a given grace she never expected from asking her Lord, yet she still accepted it with little hesitance. She wanted to do good by her Lord, yet all she sees is the failure that is her. On her journey, all Kuni could think about is the mental break from constant state of being awake and living every single moment of her life. Unlike the travel to Kirigakure, the girl met no resistance as she journeyed to Yu no Kuni. Day in and out, she kept walking to her destination, trying her best to avoid animus areas, she just wasn't in the right state of mind to fight right now.

All she wanted to do was de-stress if that was even possible. Upon entering Yugakure, she would state her reasoning and acknowledge in this land, it was a ceasefire from the world around. Kunikunosaku made her way to the hot springs, entering the dressing room before allowing the threads to form the ripper bikini she unveiled to Wasurete. While to her, it seemed unnecessary, but both the social norm and the remaining human side of her beget her to do this. Without hesitance, Kunikunosaku complied and walked out of the room like the woman she was.

The girl received some stares from wandering eyes, but with her distorted perception, all felt negative. All felt like hate, despite her knowing no one here. Wandering into the springs, the girl walked to the deepest edge and simply let her body float, all she wanted was to let go, flow like the water, yet her mind was a maelstrom. Kunikunosaku remained to float, hoping the waters in some way, they would help.

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

"I did not think a place could be busier than Konohagakure" said the hidden leaf ninja as he walked through the gates of Yugakure, one of a handful of neutral zones within the Shinobi world. Here, someone could hail from Kirigakure and drink with the likes of Sand Shinobi. Engaging in combat within the nation was considered a criminal violation, while doing so within the village itself could spark an international conflict that not even Yuuta could save himself from; despite the man believing otherwise. Such a place and its continued existence was only possible because of one man, one Shinobi whose death had ended an entire war.

A statue of the man that the entire world respected; Lord of Yugakure. Yuuta stood in the statue's shadow and couldn't help but feel smaller than the deceased man. To have such eminence was unfathomable to Yuuta whose reputation was nonexistent or infamous rather than famous. Pulling himself from his own thoughts of insecurities; Yuuta decided to take a peek of the famous Hot springs the village was named after.

Once there the Jounin quickly took up a seat at one of the many concession stands. The one he chose seemed to be a long bar counter that had been cut directly out of an old tavern. It was strategically placed in an area where everyone would either notice the alcoholic beverages being served or would have to go past the portable bar. A place such as this one was as the saying goes, 'right up Yuuta's alley' the multitude of people, from various walks of life opened up many chances for the Jounin to experience other cultures. Of course he'd have to hold back some of his darker predilections due to being in Yugakure. Yuuta didn't mind either, given the fact that he had just come off of a gnarly parole sentence that had barred him from leaving Hi no Kuni.

Yuuta wasn't expecting to see anyone he'd recognize, however eventually a familiar face would stick out amongst the crowd. It was one of the former genin that had participated in the Yuki no Kuni held chunin exams. Standing from his stool he'd walk over to the edge of the waters, "there's no mistaking it. This is the child who fought against Issei" Yuuta thought to himself as dodged other tourists to make his way to the younger kunoichi. "Oi Oi! Didn't you participate in the Yuki no Kuni chunin exams? Kuni, is what they called you, am I right?" Yuuta had a penchant for remembering seemingly useless information and the child's nickname, among other information he gained during Kuni's fight had not escaped his ravenous appetite.

"Withstanding the flames of an Uchiha is an impressive feat… especially one that I have personally trained" the man added genuinely. While most Shinobi, especially those of enemy nations would not praise an enemy Shinobi, Yuuta on the other hand would. To know Gure Yuuta is to understand that he is many things - dangerous and devious, cunning and deadly, a good friend and an implacable enemy - but he comes from an age when a shinobi's word was indeed precious. Kuni was one of the foreign genin he had hoped to one day meet as he believed that despite her loss she had proved to be a brilliant kunoichi and wished to tell her so himself.

Despite his actions Yuuta can be a good friend even to enemies. He knows how to separate duty and personal feelings

Staring at the sky, the floating Chūnin was pretty sure if the water had any healing or rejuvenating effects, she was immune to it. Well, I tried. Kuni thought as sh pulled herself into the water, finding a place under the water she could sit on. The girl leaned back till every part of her below her shoulders was submerged in the water, she thought about what else there was that could destress her. Every idea she had so far sounded fun, but did more adding than any subtracting. The girl lowered her face, cursing herself underwater before returning to her previous position.

Unaware of what to do next, all Kuni could focus on was the sky. From up above, it felt like all her problems were insignificant, that they didn't matter; it was a perception the girl had wished she could hold onto. But, grounding herself back to reality, it all felt very real; the threats to her life all felt real and the girl realized how truly alone she felt. There was no standing beside her to confront these challenges, it was literally her against the world, a weight that gets more overbearing the more she thought about it.

The Kunoichi opened her half-closed eyes in shock when she heard someone asking if someone participated in the Yuki Chūnin Exams, she instantly worried that even in ceasefire land, she'll have to defend herself again. only when her shortened name was mentioned did she actually look for the voice saying it. She saw the man approaching her and she tried to recollect who he was, absolutely nothing came to mind. But she grinned when he complimented on her ability to withstand the flames of an Uchiha only to have her signature blank poker face return when he stated that it was he who trained him. Sometimes, I love how things like these lineup.

Kuni thought as she rose from her seat, letting most of the water fall off her before folding her arms. "Thank you, only the third one really hurt, um... I don't think we formally met. So I don't know how you know my shortened name." The girl giggled before she made a slight bow to the man prior to rising up seconds after, black tendrils snaking from her arms, into her shoulder. "Takigakure Chūnin, Mikatakujira Kunikunosaku. A pleasure to meet the teacher of Uchiha Issei." Just how much can I leech off him about Issei? The girl thought as she stepped out of the water. "May I ask who I thank for the compliment?"

Of course Yuuta wasn't going to tell her how he knew her shortened name, after all it was one of his strongest abilities. It would surprise the masses just how much seemingly useless information they let escape their mouths, just by simply talking to one another. Having said that, Yuuta was also the type to create nicknames for just about everyone he's met or would eventually meet. So, him not telling her that he was a man who would seeking the secrets of the world wouldn’t be a lie of omission rather, he'd be telling another truth about himself, just not one that the girl or her allies would be looking for if it came down to it.

I just like giving nicknames, the fact that I was right for once now that is a mystery...

Nevertheless, the chunin wouldn’t have their chance-meeting become a bore, as the black tendrils she used during her chunin exams went into action to help her out of the hot springs. "Please, no formalities. I’m Gure Yuuta, Jounin of the Hidden leaf” he replied, the sight of the black tendrils had genuinely lightened Yuuta’s own under the weather-like disposition. While they couldn't do much in the line of training due to being in one of the few neutral zones of the shinobi world; it wasn't everyday that two shinobi hailing from very different lives could simply enjoy each other's presence and simply walk a day in each other's shoes. At least, Yuuta hoped that such a chance meeting would offer a chance to experience life in this girl’s eyes and maybe just maybe they’d see that even the two of them weren't as different as their hidden villages paint them out to be.

"Hungry? Or ehhh do you even eat? I'm but sure if those tendrils or just a part of your anatomy or make up your entire being” he said inquisitively, though not in a prying way as he was indeed hungry. Getting a snack was one of Yuuta's favorite pastimes after all.
