The sudden spar begun with the proctor giving a signal before leaping out of the way, leaving both duos to clash in the middle. Akihiko was fortunate that Hikari seemed to be in the same mindset as him, immediately taking off towards their opponents though she was just a bit faster than him initially. She slowed her pace just a bit to match the Kumo genin, her right hand balled into a fist and ready to engage.

The opposing duo weren't going to just stand idly by, the pair also rushing forward to meet Akihiko and Hikari in the middle. The familiar one on Akihiko's left drew his sword as they closed the distance, the blade looking rather poor in condition and sharpness: it was clearly not his personal blade but one that he scavenged during the first round of the exams. The one to Akihiko's right ran alongside his partner, though he gave an annoyed look to the sword-wielding genin for just a moment as they moved. Their movements were clearly less synced than Akihiko's and Hikari's, their alliance seeming to be one born less of good nature and more necessity.

Once they were about to be in melee-range, the sword-wielder made his move, making a simple horizontal slash towards Akihiko that wasn't all too quick, but clearly more of a way to keep the Kumo genin from getting any close. At the same time, the other opposing male threw something from his hands towards Hikari, a handful of hot ash?! Hikari was quick enough to see the windup and react, but she needed Akihiko to be on the same page.

DESCRIPTION:
Without the use of hand-seals, the user will form a collection of burning ash in their hand and throw it at high speeds. Upon contact with a solid object, the ash will explode into a small (one meter in diameter) of burning hot ash. It can cause minor burns and cause intermediate damage to eyes and respiratory system. A clean hit blinding a person until they are able to receive medical attention. Alternatively it can be used to ignite flammable objects or set off traps. The jutsu can be used in quick succession but is not overly lethal.

Well, for some reason Akihiko had not suspected that there would be a sword involved, awkwardly pulling away for a second whilst his right hand yanked along with Hikari. Her pull allowed him to just barely get out of the way of the slicing blade, in all of this though Hikari too was attacked by some hot ash.

Something, Akihiko didn't see immediately. Instead, he would utilize that evasive training he had done some time ago to good use and yanked them both to the left. Though, simultaneously now that he was seeing the jutsu flying in their direction, he would activate the Tennogan. The chakra and substance of the jutsu would swirl in a vortex before disappearing in one of the orbs in the boy's eye.

Now, ready for him to throw back out as a projectile of sorts if he so wanted. Since he didn't know the technique he couldn't actually use it but he could spit it back out at the exact same speed as it had come.

For now, though they would be out of harm's way...

Aki would then try to use their left moving momentum to extend his arm out, and use himself as a weighted center point to swing Hikari around and to use her as - essentially - a wrecking ball to hit the swordsman hard and fast. And since they were connected, it very well could send them both back. Hopefully, Hikari followed along with the plan.

Special Ability #1
Tennogan | Dojutsu | Kekkei Genkai | ACTIVE
Gifted with his clans dojutsu, even among clan members Akihiko can be seen as quite skilled with it, capable of utilizing both states of the dojutsu - sealing techniques within the four orbs that reside in his eyes, and seeing chakra from great distances (20m passively | 100m actively). At his level he is capable of sealing jutsu that top out at 'medium' in chakra usage, anything above this puts a high strain on him as he continues to work minimizing the strain his eyes put on his body and chakra supply.

Evasive Maneuvers | ACTIVE
Knowing ones strengths and weaknesses is important and as a boy who barely dabbles with the physical arts - as far as specializations go - he has taken a focus to knowing how to get out of harms way when in close quarters with those that might try to close the distance on him. He's more of a long range fighter and he keeps it that way. This ability allows him to completely out-maneuver genin who have not trained in a similar manner to therefore match his twitch reactions, furthermore he is able to go toe-to-toe with genin who have not trained like he has, though a trained chunin will find themselves with an advantage over Akihiko.

Special Ability #3
Extreme Vitality
Akihiko's bubbly and unreserved personality is not all for show, he seems to have a higher than average will to live, an abundant and generous life force. Capable of standing up in battle when a normal shinobi of his level would have been put down. Though, this is not to imply total immunity as much as he is capable of withstanding what others may not be mentally equipped to deal with, if healing or help does not come Akihiko can be taken out though it takes a greater amount of force. Additionally, Akihiko needs less rest after all battle or rigorous activity to fully recover and go again.

Special Ability #4
Enhanced Chakra Reserves
If Akihiko's vitality alone was not enough, he was also born with an unnatural amount of chakra. To fit his reckless personality, and fighting style he is able to spit out jutsu at an alarming rate without tiring out. Like the annoying brat that he is, he seems to go on and on seeming to be ready to take on the whole world if he so chooses.

Thankfully, Akihiko and Hikari seemed to be on the same page, both coordinating their movements to dodge to the left. It wasn't completely necessary, as the Omori used his clan's signature dojutsu to absorb the attack of hot ash, but the movements had already been set into place. Using the momentum from the dodge, Akihiko began swinging Hikari around to use as a makeshift wrecking ball, something the Konoha genin played along with due to the suddenness of the action but quickly regretted upon seeing the swordsman's weapon come into view.

"Waaaaiiiit!!!"

But there would be no waiting, Hikari was swung around and she lept into the attack, the swordsman sure that his blade would strike true onto be surprised. Hikari displayed an incredulous amount of dexterity in the final moment before contact, kicking out with her foot to strike the flat edge of the sword before using her other foot to kick the swordsman squarely in the chest. The result was both of the opposing genin spinning away uncontrollably, the ash-throwing exclaming in frustration as he was unwilling tossed alongside his ally. The swordsman had been more prepared for the hit and so he remained on his feet, but the other hit the ground on his rear, scrambling to get back to his feet with the use of just one hand while the swordsman gathered his bearing to try and defend them from the assault that was no doubt coming.

It took Hikari only a moment to recover from her own spin, feet planted against the ground and pounding to lead the way towards their opponents. It looked as if though the girl was readying herself to stomp on the downed enemy, though she'd no doubt need Akihiko's help in distracting the swordsman at the same time.

Akihiko heard the wait, but with all the weight and momentum, he couldn't really stop what was happening and thus the attack landed. Hitting the Kiri in the chest, stumbling him backwards whilst the other was unpreparedly drug along and hit the ground with his rear. Once Hikari's feet hit the ground, Aki would finish his own circular motion so that they were ready to go, and he would run forward with the taijutsu wielding girl boisteriously grinning from ear to ear. It kind of felt good, it was high stakes, but no one had to die necessarily and he wasn't aiming to kill just to make them surrender... Soooo it was super fun in this manner, he couldn't help but almost laugh in glee.

Hikari was going for the downed genin, whilst Aki once more went for the sword wielding one.

He would ball up a fist, as they got closer, he was certain that if he got smacked with the sword, that he would do his best to stand his ground. For now though? He was just trying to punch the Kiri right in the face, whilst his partner went to do something with the other genin. Aki was of course, ready to use any one of his free three orbs still left... Though he could always trash what he had to make room for more.

2nd Round End

Just when it seemed that the Katon-using genin was about to get up to his feet, Hikari and Akihiko once again closed the distance. The sword that would've posed a threat to the Kumo genin was suddently jerked to the side, its wielder exclaiming in surprise as he felt the cube-cuff on his left hand suddenly pulling him from focusing on Akihiko's attack. The reason, of course, was Hikari bearing down on him with his foot, prompting him to attempt an awkward half crawl half stumble away from the crazy-eyed girl.

Hikari hadn't managed to land any of her stomps or kicks, but the distraction was enough to let Akihiko land his punch. His fist would knock the Kiri genin squarely in the nose, a slight crunch emanating as blood began streaming from his nostrils and tears coming from his eyes. The uncoordinated movements of both of the opposing genin resulted in both of them stumbling to the ground this time, with Hikari eager and ready to follow up with more attacks. This seemed to be enough for the Kiri genin, with the odds stacked against them like this, it was simply better to cut their losses now and conserve their strength for the remaining days in the labyrinth. The sword-wielder released his weapon from his grip, reflexive tears still coming from the corners of his eyes as he stuffily called his surrender.

"I gib up. I surrender, enough."

That was enough to get Hikari to stop her onslaught, though if she or Akihiko continued, the Kusagakure proctor would immediately intervene. Provided everything came to a stop, the proctor did come back closer to the genin assessing the situation for just a moment before nodding and pointing an open hand to both Hikari and Akihiko.

"The winners of this preliminary battle are Akihiko and Hikari. They will now prematurely leave the labyrinth while the conceding party remains."

After dictating the results, the proctor formed a handseal, which caused the seals on the cube on their wrists to retract back into it, as well as causing the makeshift cuff to grow in size, finally freeing them. The proctor clapped both of his hands together this time, causing the sounds of shifting earth to emanate from above just before a hole was opened up to them. One more clap from the instructor created a staircase of stone to neatly go up to the surface, leading Akihiko and Hikari to a well-earned reprieve before the final round of the exams.

That sword was pretty threatening, Akihiko had thought maybe for a moment he should surrender too. He didn't wanna get impaled, after all, that would have majorly sucked! But, it seemed that this would not at all be the case as Hikari going for a pummeling kick, also caused the other genin to pull his opponent away. Which gave Akihiko a totally perfect and square punch right in the Kirigakure's nose. Which wasn't very nice, especially the feeling of squashy bone underneath his knuckles. But it happened, and it threw the other back somewhat. There was blood on his knuckles now, he would pursue... Though, hesitantly, he didn't want to hurt more.

Fortunately, the Kirigakure genin shouted a surrender and Aki would stop in his tracks before the proctor could get either of them to stop. Even if Hikari continued he would pull her back with their restraint. They won... They would get out early.

Relief went through his body as he trashed the jutsu in his eyeball, letting go cleanly into the world as a small burst of chakra. It wouldn't hurt anyone since it was being trashed. The cuffs were gone and a staircase to heaven appeared and Akihiko was free once more!

"Yess! We did it Hikari-chan!" He would go to give the girl a high five as they left the dark maze forever.
