With a darker skin complexion and piercing eyes, Hanzo's facial features are rather small in proportion to everything else on his body. If he wore the correct clothing, Hanzo could theoretically pass as a woman - with rather androgynous, symmetrical and sharp features. Rather skinny (toned, moreso) in musculature, it doesn't help that he has long flowing soot black hair usually pulled up into a small ponytail at the back, Hanzo stands at five foot nine and 80 kilograms / 176 lbs. Like shinobi of present, past and future: his skin is not unmarred by combat with callouses on the inside of his hands and in various places, he does have rough hands and knuckles - but the rest of his skin is marked, nicked whether by kunai or personal grit. But, he does not have any defining features or stitches or scars which marks him from any other. shinobi attire On any given day, Hanzo's repertoire is usually compromised of layers. Two in normal weather, three in heavier: that's usually a shirt, a open buttoned shirt or jacket - and then a coat on top if necessary. Hanzo dresses appropriately, with yellows, beiges, browns and greens being his usual go to: sprinkled with neutrals like black, grey and white. You will never not see him in some form of black whether by a trademark black shirt or by black footwear. So, following the rule of 2 (or 3!) and neutrals with color pops, he is generally quite a well dressed individual, owing to that androgyny mentioned earlier. When it comes to more mission based assignments, Hanzo will dress appropriately. Smart for smart, business for business: and if in a pure mission mode (such as "get in - get out") then he'd likely refer to his hit-ate (found on forehead) - black shirt or overcoat and an assortment of bandaged up body areas that then house compartments for shinobi equipment. personality "I already have nothing left." Hanzo is more of your stereotypical Uchiha of yore who had given in to his curse of Hatred - two sides of the same coin, one is kind and stoic and the other is full of deep malice. When stoic - he is unassuming and generally placid and hiding a deep seeded revenge plot. One you might even consider depressed, Hanzo has already lost a lot from his childhood and into his adulthood and as such was a slept-upon Uchiha of the clan itself. So, his name and game is being cool, calm, and collected - arrogant to those he perceives as weaker than himself and indifferent to those he perceives to be stronger than himself (keeping that cool exterior as a shield and mask of indifference, to protect his real fear from leaking out) Do not be mistaken: his emotions are still very much there, but from a childhood that forced him to mature quickly, it was a perceived sleight against his own nature that he learned to cope with stress at a very young age and not for the better. He still gets angry, happy, upset - in which case there are different points on the scale of 'uncaring' and 'indifference' will take him. He is still observant in example like birthdays and will remember odd tiddbits about people - but forgive the person that dares insinuate that he cares. Hanzo isn't particularly witty or funny, doesn't have a lot to say and often doesn't want to be involved at the centre of things - doesn't desire to be in the spotlight and is happy to not have any nicknames or particular renown. It makes him a hard person to pin down or identify what it is that he really wants. What Hanzo's driving force in life is to avenge the death of his childhood sweetheart from whomever that be, though this driving force will only take him so far. What he really pursues and desires from life is to work hard and make a difference in whatever it is he chooses to pursue, but is clouded by a real rage. Ideally, he would have wanted Shinobi to never exist. But, to that end - it was not a realistic dream, and he grew with the times and not against it. trivia Hanzo will occasionally conduct reality checks on himself. Hanzo is a great purveyor of odd trinkets, and will pick things up that are small and handheld. Like a crow. Hanzo is a big fan of sour sweets. Contrary to popular belief, Hanzo gets nervous easily. He is good at not showing it. Hanzo dresses a bit like a popular protagonist from a child's novel of undisclosed nature. Hanzo has flatly denied to learn the academy techniques under a religious exemption. history Hanzo had never meant to be a Shinobi - never really wanted to. His early life had been categorised as a write off when he never developed the Sharingan at five years old when he was made an orphan, watching his parents being brutally murdered, and when he murdered his sister because voices told him to at eight years old. These two things did not produce a Sharingan - and as far as the rest of the clan saw it, they could have channelled that into something productive. But since he had not manifested any clan abilities it was assumed that he would never get the Sharingan. Instead he spent the next decade or so in and out of psychiatric facilities which mulled and subdued every other part of his characteristics and traits he had gotten to over that point. Hanzo did then develop coping mechanisms, and medication to tide him over till he became whole again - it did not feel that way a lot of the time. Still, when the welfare ran out and he had no career to fall back on - he dove right in to the first thing that he could get, and that was a strange career. Hanzo then made a living in his career as a wagon mechanic - believe it or not, working with wood and creating parts to service merchants. That was the crux of his life, and occasionally helping out as a store clerk. It seemed as though life would take on a normal route for him through his life. His Uchiha name would bear him no easy way through life as he worked, took on his own home and eventually even got a mortgage for a property and even met a woman. Everything and more which he wanted - was being achieved. Sure, that might've meant taking medication every now and again when things got bad but otherwise he was in shape to be happy. Except, that was too never meant to be when she too got murdered - not in front of Hanzo, only the news had been delivered after she had left his home after a fight they'd had - he uncaringly settled in for the night. That was all there was to it. So deep seeded with rage beneath the surface he decided only one career would offer him the revenge he wanted and the route he needed to take it out on the world. That of a Shinobi. And the whispers began from that day - and Hanzo was uncertain of how they began but they led him outward. He was not a Shinobi after all: and unassuming in his understanding fell upon that of a Temple in a grassy region. And in those dark whispers he gave in - falling for some time into a rabbit hole of mystery and cultism that eventually led him into a position. The Arm of God, as they said. But with a power to fulfill the curse of hatred he was the perfect candidate, and so a deep power was born. A dark power was born. And for that purpose, led him to the Shinobi Academy of Konohagakure no Sato, for evening classes to become a Shinobi. Even if that led to him being seen poorly by others, for being an old student. No: he would have his day. One day. To that end, and with a religious exemption Hanzo had effectively forgone all chakra-based learning. Which, as one would expect is the majority of the academy when it comes to learning, so aside from the theoretical and the practical - and passed through the academy with relative ease and speed, on course to gain access to the information he needs and wants.

By that, he's a fairly dynamic 'one and done' scenario that means: step 1) get close to a person and step 2) kill that person. How he achieves that generally varies battle by battle. So that's pretty much the 'style' - aggressive, hard hitting and uncompromising. As a person for fighting while being uncompromising, he is not afraid to let it get difficult for himself, and strangely: loves fighting on the edge, with the battlefields against him. That being said, "Not running away" doesn't equate to "stand and be hit by a fireball" - Hanzo has enough sense to keep himself from harm that allows him to evade mortal danger - to a point, for his religion offers him a way out - but six is still six. But a show of impenetrability? If anything but a dramatic flair, he may sometimes offer a death if only to inspire fear in his enemies. The man will still come back looking for more: and fights until a conclusion is drawn. If someone is stupid enough to put themselves between him and his path, then they will either die or live to remember their mistake of crossing his warpath. For that, it is supposed that you could take advantage of this by the use of long range ninjutsu or genjutsu. Each death brings about a slight, subtle cosmetic change: lines running across his body and growing red hot by each death - to where at a final death would look akin to someone who had opened the gates - growing bigger in size after each death. full description here 『Durability』 While not at an ungodly level at this present moment, Hanzo's ability to tank damage is still pretty okay - his body is learning how to compensate for the pain by simply making it harder to kill him in the first place. His skin is nowhere near diamond, or anywhere from preventing a katana - but right now it's a bit tougher to break the skin, and he is mentally prepared, physically durable.

Hanzo's age, as well as his religious affiliation, is something that needs to be looked over by Uzumaki Keisuke since villages are primarily funding their academy spaces, an older academy student could be seen as less valuable to train, especially since Hanzo has refused to learn ninjutsu techniques (refused to learn and not being "capable" of learning are not necessarily synonymous). Plus the religious affiliation is that of a cult which from my reading does not appear to be pro-villages so it seems unsynchronized in this manner.

That aside, at academy student rank you can only have one special ability, so you will have to remove one if you are given the go-ahead by Jian. But, also, if Hanzo is an academy student rank, how is he on a genin team/why would the village put him there?

I'd prefer the Hokage chime in before the next reviewer so that we have a village leader verdict on the topic as well.

I'm alright with having an academy student in the village that is older in age as starting late isn't always a bad thing though its more the religious thing that concerns me about Hanzo. Its not entirely clear to me why the cult would lead him to Konohagakure and for what purpose. Wouldn't he be pretty insane to be in the cult to begin with how they are and the methods of the cult. I just don't see Konoha personally allowing someone of his age without knowing something about him prior you can't be too careful nowadays. Before Aika left Keisuke met with her Akui IC so knows a little about the cult, not much mind you but could recognise his abilities if they were ever to happen in front of Keisuke. Just something to think about.
