Modding is so troublesome
But I guess I’ll do it.

Uchiha Hiruzen was a proud member of the Uchiha clan who deserted once Kawai Niko came into power. One of the motives for his defection being disagreement with the new leadership, beyond that not much else is known about exactly why he had left. Possessing the famed Sharingan and being proficient in Genjutsu made it so that Hiruzen was able to slip away largely unmolested.

Until now he has continued to evade teams sent to capture him and his last suspected location had been Frost Country. That has changed of course when he was spotted along the border and moving back towards the Land of Fire proper once more.

His current advance has been noted and suspected to be towards the forest area where a Senju missing ninja currently has been generating reports, due to it being suspected it was none other than the S-rank threat Senju Itonama.

It is unknown why exactly Hiruzen is heading that way though some that knew him suspect it was to challenge the other missing-nin, how true that is though is uncertain.

With the end destination known, a couple of routes the Uchiha could have taken have been noted down. Inoya Village is one of the few settlements near the forest area that Hiruzen could have stopped at. Looking for clues or tracks in the area might be possible to catch the Uchiha on the move or clues that would lead to him.

The Bark Lane is a known smuggling lane and general area where bandits usually form camps. It has been left unmolested by shinobi forces in order to control and funnel criminal activities through it in order to gain information and weasel out spies before they could steal true information. It is also the most direct area towards the forest area so it’s possible Uchiha Hiruzen would choose to pass through it.

Interrogating the bandits there or seeing if there are any tracks left by the missing-nin could help in narrowing done where exactly he is and catch up to him before he reaches the forest area.

COLD TRAIL

It had been quite a while since Toshizou had been on a nukenin hunt. Ever since he dismantled the Kuroseki group, he started taking on simpler missions, and focusing on his work as a member of the Village Council, but that thirst for traitor's blood never faded away, and when presented with the change to expurgate the Uchiha scum, he was quick to volunteer. Well, volunteer being the nice word to use in the situation; Toshizou basically demanded that he was to be sent. It was a very nice bonus to have Kurei assigned as his partner for this mission. A likeminded individual like herself would not complain about his methods, not matter how bloodthirsty they might be.

Rumors of Hiruzen's location led the duo to head towards Inoya Village. The Bark Lane was a good option as well, but considering his Ninken, catching the smell of Hiruzen would potentially be easier near the village. Moreover, Toshizou also had the Kagura's Mind Eye at his disposal, making him quite the competent tracker, and if he could avoid relying on intel provided by scumbags like the bandits of the Lane, the better; if anything, they could become their back-up choice.

"So, how's the job treating you?" he asked Kurei as they made their way to the village. They were still half an hour away from the place where they could start their investigations, so it wouldn't hurt to try and catch up with an old friend and lover. "Did his hero delusions get to you already?" he would tease her, cracking a somewhat mischievous grin on his thin lips. It was no secret that Toshizou didn't like the Hokage. Well, he coveted his position and believed Keisuke to be a bit too soft. It never ceased to surprise him the fact that Kurei seemed to be satisfied working as his bodyguard, or her infatuation towards the man.

Kurei was sent on a mission to hunt down two Nukenin from her village with Hatake Toshizou. He was a rather like-minded individual she was quite fond of, secondary to Keisuke. Possibly because of a lack of ideological differences. There were other things of course, like his love for Konoha was equal to her own. It let her know everything they did was for the sake of Konoha. Not to mention she enjoyed the merciless brutality they could inflict to those who would go against Konoha. He was her true pick for the Hokage.

That aside they were making their way to Inoya, where the two traitors were lurking. What the filth was up to was beyond her. All she knew is they needed to be executed for treason. By any means, Kurei could at least catch up with her colleague. "It's fine. I usually just help with paperwork, run errands, follow him around. However, it also means I get to know more of what's going on in the village. I enjoy the updates. Like traitors leaving. I also eliminate threats to the village. It's a change of pace from running the academy." Kurei replied.

"I believe you were the better pick for Hokage. He's a good person, but soft. So, no, he hasn't gotten to me yet." The Uzumaki replied.

Abilities:

Crimson Tyrant of the Forest
Kurei, while born an Uzumaki, her father was of the Senju, thus she gained the clan's kekkei genkai; Mokuton [Wood Release]. Kurei has put all of her focus and Ninjutsu skills in Mokuton [Wood], along with the two elements that combine to make them; Doton [Earth Release] and Suiton [Water Release]. With that, her potential with Mokuton [Wood] has met its apex, as someone who has mastered it as an elite kunoichi. Her chakra has colored the wood with a reddish hue and crimson leaves, flowers, and such are crimson red, although she can turn it to its normal brown and such.

Unbreakable Crimson Chains of the Uzumaki
Before she found out she could use her father's kekkei genkai, Kurei was learning to use her clan's hijutsu, the Kongō Fūsa [Adamantine Sealing Chains]. She has full control over the chains of chakra with nearly two decades of preparations, rituals, and practice. They can combat even bijuu or larger summoning creatures or monsters of the shinobi world. They won't be able to get any stronger. She even can create a wider range with more power and chains that can manifest from any part of her body and can be created in an instant. Not only that, it can be used in conjunction with her Mokuton [Wood Release]. Like with Kurei's kekkei genkai, her barriers and constructs are glowing crimson with a neon pink aura glowing off the red chakra.

Royal Chakra Reserves
Both of the clans Kurei hails from are known for usually having a naturally large supply of raw chakra. While not at the level of a jinchuriki, her chakra reserves are nothing to sneeze at. They allow her to not get as tired after using high-ranking jutsu. It takes a lot to actually drain the woman to lower levels of chakra, so much she respects people that do.

Red-Haired Ninjutsu Queen
Kurei mastered Ninjutsu at a greater rate than her fuinjutsu, as that was her specialty as well as needed preparation for mastering her two clan's jutsus. Her ninjutsu [general] gain a large boost in power, speed, and overall effectiveness. She is capable of analyzing potential weaknesses and effects of her opponents' ninjutsu given some time. Her ninjutsu skills are on equal levels with a sole in ninjutsu, thus she can learn jutsus that take a sole ninjutsu specialist to perform, as long as she meets the other restrictions. ((Note: This does not affect her purchasing or learning, she's still has only the Ninjutsu [General] primary discount.)) Like with her other jutsus, her water is tinted red with her chakra, as her soil is tinted a muddy red.

Royal Unbreakable Body
Kurei comes from a strong line of Uzumaki, not to mention Senju, thus her body has an unnaturally high overall vitality and an accelerated healing rate, able to handle a greater toll and strain on her body than most, something seemingly unmatched within either of her clans. Her strong body is made to last, as she has greater lifeforce, aging slower than normal shinobi to some degree, as she will live for over a century. Broken bones heal less than half of the rate, cuts and bruises fix completely up within a few minutes, give or take and deeper wounds also take less time to heal. Once damaged, her body immediately starts healing and scabbing up, already beginning the healing process. Because of this, it takes heavier attacks to really damage her long-term. After a good long, heavy battle, she can bounce back from non-fatal injuries after a week or two of sleep.

Unnatural Handseal Speed
Due to relying on her jutsu, Kurei has learned how to perform handseals at lightning speed. Her hands have been known to be hard to read, even by trained eyes as she has them down by pure muscle memory. She complete jutsus with a long string of handseals make it where she can set up more complicated jutsu one after another at the fraction of the rate when compared to most shinobi, making her singing speeds seem unnatural and inhuman.
