Another mission out at sea. Toru is repeatedly at the helm of his nation's activities. Some leaders chose to take a more relaxed seat, they did not do missions. But, Toru was young, and as a leader, he saw great merit in being on the front lines with his soldiers. It had only been a few months, and he had seen how much he could accomplish being there alongside them. Pushing them to be their best, testing them, and also fighting back to back. It certainly raised morale, a lot more than a leader that ordered others forgetting what it was like to put your life on the line. Toru would never forget, so he would remain sharp.

Today he was on a mission with Shoyo. They had sailed out of Mizu no Kuni - from Gengetsu - on one of the Suiryu Butai ships. Toru had inspected the ship up and down before approving it to set sail upon their goal - Sea and Reef countries - the two places that they were to lay siege to forthwith.

It had been about a week since they had left port and their journey had been swift, steady, and calm. But soon the tiny first few islands belonging to Reef country would come up, most to the north. They would inspect them first.

"Let us find a good spot to disembark." He would mention to Shoyo quietly as the ship steered towards one of the islands.

A mission at the sea, something standard for Shoyo and one of the things he had grown accustomed to. The main difference was that this time he wasn't alone with a group of sailors, but rather he was accompanied by the Mizukage that was also the daimyo in the country. He was on a ship accompanied by the most powerful person in the country, something that didn't happen often, in fact never had happened before. Shoyo didn't know the young man personally, but he knew that despite his young age he had been doing an impressive job so far in bringing the nation back to its former glory. A hard task that he was succeeding at, not many were capable of his capabilities, especially at such a young age. This made him believe that the Mizukage was a man that was worthy of respect.

They had sailed from Gengetsu, the main port city of Mizu no Kuni, leaving the country. He even had the honor of having Toru himself inspect his ship and his crew before approving to sail towards the Sea and Reef countries. It had been around a week since they left the port. Things have been calm and swift, he always ensured everything went smoothly, this was no exception, especially with the presence of the Mizukage himself aboard the ship. Eventually, some small islands that belonged to the Sea and Reef country were able to see towards the north.

"Understood. Helmsman, move towards the island on the north. Right standard rudder and steady on a course." He ordered the man that was steering the ship, as it shifted slightly at a 15-degree angle in order to get the ship closer to the island Toru had pointed out. After a few minutes, the ship got close to itself and Shoyo gave the order for the ship to undergo a full stop. The ship had stopped over at a corner of the island so they wouldn't have anyone watching them. "We're here, Mizukage-sama." He stated, reporting to his superior that they had now arrived on the island and were ready to disembark. It was only necessary for the two to go, the ship and its crew could wait for them while they did their mission.

"These two islands here are close to each other. We should split up. I will take the one to the north, you the one to the south." They would be able to walk across the water or swim despite the waves. It seemed that the water was calm enough to do so here, there was no turbulent storm coming upon them.

"Gather information. Then, destroy their ports. Once we are done we will sail to the main island." The ports were just the beginning they were to destroy all ships that belonged to Reef and Sea Countries. Lay waste to as many as humanly possible. He would presume that he would not need to wait for a confirmation from Shoyo as the other was sensible and clearly capable having been the Captain of a ship for a little while.

So with that, Toru would jump overboard fearlessly and land effortlessly upon the sea. Careful in his chakra manipulation he would move forward across the surface straight towards the northern island. There was no port in sight, but that was part of the intention to avoid being seen initially. The job was to gather information first. Did they fear raids? Soon they would know that very same fear.

Once the ship had managed to disembark the anchor was deployed in order to prevent the ship from straying away from its location. Shoyo turned his attention to the Mizukage, as he ordered for the two to split up and cover more terrain. "As you wish, I shall head to the south island and check things there." Both islands were quite close and they could get around by just walking on the water, as the sea was calm enough to navigate with relative ease. It was a good choice to split up, as it would allow them to cover more terrain in such a short amount of time.

Shoyo understood his mission and gave Toru one final nod after he jumped down into the sea. It wasn't the first time he had to do something like this, so he was already experienced in his chakra manipulation when it came to moving around the sea. He made his way towards the south island to gather information if they had any supplies, ports, or even personnel. If they were truly afraid of raids and had the counter-measures to do so. A sabotage mission in the land before a major attack will ensure that the main fleet is able to take out the enemy with minimum effort.

Eventually, he arrived at the southern island and hid between the bushes and other surroundings terrain to avoid being seen. First, he had to gather information before taking his next course of action, if they were any enemies how many were they and get an idea of the force. Whether he could take them out by himself or call in additional support. He hid in the bushes for a few minutes, until his ears managed to pick up the sound of three men talking from a distance and heard their steps. Shoyo decided to move quietly and decided to take a better look. The two men seemed to be transporting something on a wagon, on crates and barrels. He focused on them and upon a closer inspection, they had been named with ammunition and food supplies respectively. His best guess was that they were transporting those supplies to the port. He decided to tag along with them quietly before even considering engaging if he followed them they would lead them to the place those supplies are being transported to, which was most likely the port.

Toru upon landing on land once again would form a hand seal to transform himself into what appeared to be a pretty innocent-looking civilian disguise. This would allow him to gather information without getting noticed or seen as particularly suspicious. This was a tiny country and he doubted there would be almost any resistance towards a much bigger and stronger force. Mizu no Kuni was among the greats after all. Though, they sought to be greater and so he would press forward.

The majority of the island was uninhabited. There were a few roads here and there, likely for merchants. Otherwise, there were a few homes on the beachside. Nothing very exciting though. Eventually, on the other side of the island - the north side - he would find a tiny port town. Well, it was tiny relative to anything in Mizu no Kuni. Toru would find a weak spot to get inside, avoiding the main gate so that he did not show off any paperwork. That wouldn't be necessary.

His investigation would begin here. Especially moving towards the docks where there was only one larger ship though it could be dwarfed by some of the ships that the Suiryu Butai had. Toru would scratch inside his ear and listen, and even read people's lips as he walked along quietly.

No one around seemed particularly fearful of anything. It was a blissful tropical life in these parts it seemed. Coconuts, bananas, and hammocks for the majority that weren't hard at work.

The young man would eventually arrive at the port, and with his hands on his hips looking up at the ship.

"Like it?"

"Hm?"

"It's pretty nice isn't it? We're putting some effort into making sure we have good defense on the seaside."

"I see... It is a big ship." Toru commented idly to whoever had approached him.

"You look like you could be a good sailor, what do you think? We're recruiting."

"Oh.. no.. I'm a fisherman. Well, mostly crabs."

"That's a shame."

Toru shrugged, and the man started to wander away. Toru would head the other way. Moving a little closer to the ship he would place a singular explosive tag on the underside of the ship. Moving... Moving... He would move behind a building into an alleyway and create another persona of himself. More bandit-like.

Then he would wander back out, finding a tiki torch of sorts he would let out a shout, trying to play the part before he started to quite literally burn the town to the ground.

Shoyo continued to tail the two men that were transporting the supplies to their potential base. If he made the right move he could knock both of them out and take the appearance of one of them with the transformation jutsu in order to facilitate the infiltration of the base. Find key points that can be sabotaged and take out the entire place, the enemy wouldn't know what hit them until it was far too late.

After a few minutes of walking, walls and fortifications could be seen. Something akin to a naval fort that served as a resupply station for ships. So perhaps they were ready to defend themselves again potential raids, his best guess was that pirates around roamed around those places. The naval fort could prove to be a small issue if the main fleet were to arrive, but it didn't seem to be prepared for a full-scale attack. It didn't matter, his job was to facilitate the job of the fleet and spread about their capabilities. Not only naval but their ability to sabotage any of their bases.

"Good, you two are right on time. Takehito with me, you take the rest of the supplies to the storage area." A man walked in front of their path as the two others arrived at the fort, he was a higher ranking figure, the officer in charge of the fort most likely. The two men broke off, with the one named Takehito following the officer while the other delivered the supplies to the storage area. Shoyo looked at his surroundings and made sure no one else was looking. He sneaked into the fort and tagged behind the man that was taking the supplies to the storage area. An advantage was that the place was surrounded by bushes that made it easy to hide and conceal his presence.

Just before the man was about to enter the storage area, Shoyo ambushed him from behind and wrapped both of his arms around his neck, using one of his hands to cover his mouth. In order to prevent him from screaming and alerting the rest of the personnel in the fort, he dragged him into the bush he was hiding and knocked him out by depriving him of oxygen. Once he had been knocked out, he proceeded to perform a single hand seal, using the transformation jutsu to take on his appearance and his place.

It took a little while, but the town provided little resistance, and Toru would also completely destroy their ships in the process. Big or small they needed to be unsailable. Set them back to zero in terms of being able to sail. Once it was all said and done though, he would toss aside the torch and disappear into the chaos. He knew that the others all around him would fail to really be able to notice him as they screamed and ran around. Some, trying to save their homes, pulling children out of buildings and the like. A small part of Toru did not like this. But he also knew that this was the only way for Mizu no Kuni. And he held his own country in higher regard.

Once he had walked away he would begin his return to the ship anchored out at sea. Though not without transforming into a civilian so that he could run for his life in case someone spotted him leaving the village. Of course, he did so quietly behind a burning building as to not be noticed.

He would run, trying to run quite normally though not so much like a shinobi as he darted forward and towards the ship.

In due time he would arrive, having to be slower for the bit of the journey as he pretended to be a civilian running for his life. He would clamber up onto the Suiryu Rodan ship and disperse his transformation. The men there were mostly relaxing, some checking up on the status of the ship, ropes tied, and the like.

Now, they had to wait for Shoyo to return and they would sail to the next islands from here.

Once Shoyo took the identity of the man he had taken out. The use of his transformation jutsu allowed him to blend with relative ease with the other soldiers. He entered the storage area and he could see they had different things, from food, repair materials, ammunition, and explosives that they used to load into their ships. From what he could tell, they were doing a scheduled resupply for the ships before they sailed again. So it meant that most of the ships in this naval fort were docked and it was the perfect opportunity to wipe out all of them in one go.

After delivering the explosives posing as a soldier, he was ordered to load the ammunition and explosives into the ships as they were going to head on patrol soon. Shoyo was going to make sure those ships returned to their patrol, but with a big bang that would be enough to shake the entire place. He took the explosives with him and loaded them into the lower deck where the explosives and ammunition were being placed. Shoyo grabbed a decently sized piece of string and attached it all the way towards the explosives, from where he was, this was an improvised fuse. All of this was done in order to get some time to leave the place before the explosives. He used two of his kunais to generate enough friction between the two to start a small flame and with some air, it would be enough to light everything up.

Shoyo eventually made his way out of the ship and around a moment later, a loud boom that shook the entire place could be heard. The ship behind him begun to collapse and since it was filled with explosives, bigger explosions followed, to the point that another ship that was close enough to the ship was also effected by the explosion. This resulted in a chain reaction, as the ships began to sink and destabilize because the lower decks filled with water they sank. Other ships were hit by other ships, creating a domino effect that damaged the rest of the ships. They would either be sunk completely, or the damage was enough to leave them unsuitable to sail.

The entire naval fort went on high alert as they believed they were under attack due to the sudden attacks. There was a sense of confusion, Shoyo made his way towards the supply area where they were still supplies left. Food, explosives, ammunition, and other materials. Even if not all the ships were destroyed in his attempt, he was going to make sure they wouldn't be able to sail anytime soon. After all, logistics played a vital role in a battle, and if they didn't have any way to resupply their ships they were as good as nothing. At this point blending in didn't matter much and he swiftly lighted another fuse within the resupply area with the materials he found there.

Moments later he was out of the place and the supply area had been blown up into bits. Everyone was panicking and some people were starting to suspect that he was the responsible one as he didn't act like the rest. It didn't matter to him at this point, his job was done. He made sure to use the trees to his advantage and disappear from all of the commotions, he undid transformation jutsu the moment he entered the trees so nobody could identify him. All the personnel in the fort were too busy with their own problems to even find the potential culprit. They would only realize that they've been sabotaged until it was too late.

Shoyo made his way back towards the location of his ship to regroup with the Mizukage. A few moments later, he arrived at the location and jumped into the ship. He noticed that Toru was already there and seemed to be done with his job. "It has been done. Their entire naval fort is on fire and their ships wouldn't be able to sail anytime soon. I made sure nobody saw me on the way in and way out." He informed the Mizukage of the completion of his job and he was ready to do their next move.

The explosions could be heard from this far out, and Toru determined it was likely Shoyo acting on the mission as was required of him. Though on high alert, the boy king would himself down on the ship, crossing his legs as he waited fiddling with a stray piece of wood that was laying around on the deck. The deck would need sweeping once they had gotten back home... Which would be a while, but it was still nonetheless something they would need to do. He would share with Shoyo, it was his ship after all, or at least he was in charge of it.

When Shoyo jumped back onto the ship Toru would stand, the transition smooth as he clapped his hands dusting them off before nodding towards Shoyo.

"Good. Let's continue sailing then." They still had a lot of ground to cover in truth.

The rest of Reef Country would be mostly a breeze. They were so separated that it would be hard to defend against unexpected attacks. If this were to ever become Mizu no Kuni territory, it would be hard. They would have to make sure to keep a navy between all of these points for quick backup access. Otherwise, attacks like this would inevitably happen from their enemies. Toru had to consider every angle.

Now, they would arrive to Sea Country. Larger and further west than Reef Country. It was time to dismantle their ports and all of their strong points. And of course, any ships they saw of theirs.

The first objectives seemed to be simple as neither did he nor Toru take long to sabotage them. From what he could tell they were prepared for raids, but their naval power was nothing compared to Mizu no Kuni's navy. Now that the two were back on the ship the crew aboard raised the anchor as the ship continued to sail through the sea. The rest of the Reef Country didn't prove to be an issue for them, the other two islands were separated from the ones that they attacked that by the time they knew what had occurred it would be too late. The Reef Country was a non-shinobi nation, nor did they seem to be ready for an unexpected attack from Mizu no Kuni. So infiltrating them into their territory was a breeze.

They eventually arrived at the Sea Country, it was larger than the Reef Country so it might be a little more difficult to deal with them. Following Toru's command, the black flag was raised in order to have the ship pose as a pirate ship. Nobody has to know about Mizu no Kuni's movement right now.

"Sir! I have spotted a ship from the Sea Country around five hundred meters, southwest of our current position. It seems like they haven't noticed, yet!" One of the crew members that had a spyglass raised his voice in order to get the attention of both Shoyo and Toru. He notified the two of them about the presence of an enemy ship not too far from their position, the man walked to the two of them, handing the spyglass for him to see the ship.

Shoyo took the spyglass and looked at the ship that was southwest of their position in order to check it out. By the looks of it, the ship was a brig. After checking out the ship he handed it over to Toru for him to check out the enemy ship if he was interested. He turned to look at the Mizukage, in this case, he was superior so he decided to get his input before moving forward. "Shall we engage? Attacking that ship will be a breeze and I'm sure that if we board it we will be able to valuable information about the country's ports so we can sabotage them, or even interrogate the captain for information." Shoyo stated and even justified the reason for the engagement. They haven't been spotted yet, so if they changed their course they could avoid the ship. However, it was a great opportunity to send the message about Mizu no Kuni's might and gain some valuable intel in the process.

Toru would acknowledge the report with a solemn stoic expression and a nod. He would look to Shoyo, despite Toru's higher rank in the situation, this was Shoyo's ship and he was to make most of the decisions. They walked to the edge to look through a spyglass and note the ship. After Shoyo, Toru would extend the spyglass and have a look as well. It seemed like a Sea Country ship, based on the flag presented at the very top, along with the overall color scheme of the rest of the flags. He would collapse the spyglass and hand it off to someone standing nearby.

"Engage. Though we should make it a surprise attack to avoid immediate retaliation."

Most ships had enough of a crew that they would notice a ship engaging, driving towards them with intent and force. They had to make it seem like they were sailing by before coming into an attack. There was always an upper hand in a stealthy approach as opposed to one that was a bit more flashy. Toru preferred the quieter option always, one could blame it on how he was raised, or how his career had gone thus far.

"Full speed." He would state, not in a shout. Only meant to be heard by Shoyo, who could then give the command to the rest of the crew. Toru was by no means here to undermine the other's authority on his own ship.

Shoyo silently nodded back after receiving Toru's approval. Although it was ultimately his ship and the person that gave the orders, he wanted to give the Mizukage the chance to provide some input if he so desired out of respect for him. The two were in agreement that engaging the ship was the best option. It would be best to get rid of it and if they could get some additional information it would be beneficial for them.

"Understood. Ready yourselves for combat! We'll get this done swiftly, leave no one alive aside from the Captain of the ship. If you find any maps or important information aboard the ship take it with you and hand it to me after." He declared, ordering the entire crew to prepare themselves. They were going to engage in combat soon, so they had a period to ready their weapons and equipment. He also instructed them to leave nobody alive, aside from the Captain that commanded the ship they were about to engage. They needed him alive to interrogate him and get out any important information before getting rid of him.

The ship maintained the distance from the enemy ship, as they were going to engage them by surprise. They circled the enemy ship and decided to attack it from behind as the crew would be less likely to see them rather than if they went from the sides. It was a much more stealthy approach, he didn't care about flashiness, but the effectiveness of the strategy that was being employed.

"Full speed, helmsman." Shoyo nodded and then ordered the helmsman to move the ship at full speed once they were behind the opposing ship. They wouldn't realize what hit them until it was already too late. As the ship moved at high-speed right behind him he had the intention to ram into the ship and invade their ship. He moved towards the frontal part of his ship, as he was going to be the first one to enter the ship and take out as many as possible. It wasn't the first time he did something like this and his crew was already familiar with the way their captain operated.

A few seconds later the ship rammed at a high-speed right behind the opposing ship, damaging its back. Only a few seconds prior did the enemy crew realize they were about to get hit by what seemed to be a pirate ship, but it was already too late as they've been taken by surprise. Shoyo swiftly unsheathed Fumika and held the katana with his right arm, while he grabbed three shurikens from the pocket of his coat. He jumped into the enemy ship and threw his shuriken towards the helmsman, taking him down in order to prevent him from moving the ship from their current position.

Two other men ran towards Shoyo in an attempt to take him down with their blades as he just invaded their ship. "Damn you pirate!" One of them yelled in annoyance as he had just killed one of their fellow crewmates and slashed his sword towards him. Shoyo blocked the attack with Fumika and in the eyes of the two men, it seemed like he had just blocked his attack with air. Fumika's blade wasn't visible to either of them, this shocked them with gave him the upperhand. He quickly delivered to slashes in response while they were in shock and took both of them down.

After the three first men at the helm were taken out, Shoyo performed a motion with his hand which ordered the rest of the crew to jump into the ship. They already knew their orders and now the battle to take out the enemy ship was about to begin.

Not long before their impact, a commotion could be heard on the other ship. It was obvious by the commotion that they had been spotted, or at least there was a bit of panic about a ship steamrolling into them, seemingly that this particular ship had no signs of stopping before they would ram what was ahead. Toru felt good about it though, and he would focus a bit of chakra to the soles of his feet to steady himself as they prepared to attach themselves to the ship with a solid ramming tactic.

Shoyo unsheathed his blade and jumped. Toru too would unsheathe his blade, well, one of them - Kouha - and jump over onto the other ship. Though he also activated something as he jumped over he was not glowing in a particular red cloak. This mission would not require him to go beyond this initial cloaking though. His eyes would glow a particularly bright red, and he would exude a fearful chakra. Now, it could have very well been a jutsu to those that were onlookers.

But it was enough to cause some men to look on in fear, just idly enough that Toru got the opportunity to kill them.

Soon enough though, the captain stepped forward.

Taken by the red cloak burning and bubbling around Toru he would charge the young man. There was clearly solid training for the man of this particular ship. He would form a few hand seals and summon forth several fireballs, Toru however would combat them with a singular inhale, to unleash several blasts of water in the direction of these fireballs extinguishing them quickly. Before he would charge in return his sword at the ready.

In a matter of seconds, the opposing ship had turned into a battlefield as the entirety of his crew engaged the enemy. The sounds of swords clashing could be heard throughout the entirety of the ship. Even the Mizukage had joined in the battle to take down the enemies, the whole intention of this was to be swift and take out the enemies as fast as they could. With the exception of the Captain, for the time being as he could have vital information and it would make locating their targets easier.

After Shoyo took out the first crew members he made his way down the ship, for the most part, it seemed like everyone else was busy so he decided to take this time to find any maps or intel that they could use. That was until he was intercepted by two opposing enemies that somehow didn't find themselves busy and instead openly desired to attack him. Both of the enemies were armored, so a direct attack would be hard, both of them slashes their blades he blocked one of the enemy's attacks and took a few steps back, with the enemy nearly hitting him. As expected the enemies were confused the moment Shoyo had managed to block one of their attacks with nothing, all they could see was air, yet when both of the swords clashed there was a metallic sound. So they figured that there was a blade there, they just couldn't see it.

Shoyo held Fumika's grip with both hands and unleashed a vertical slash upwards, the slash broke through his armor and killed his opponent with a single slash. The first enemy fell down to the ground as the other attempted to attack him, however, Shoyo was faster and focused his chakra on the tip of his katana condensing futon chakra and swinging his blade horizontally. Fumika released a crescent-shaped whirlwind slash that cut through the enemy's armor with relative ease. The blade was invisible, it didn't mean his katana invincible, but it made it hard for enemies to predict his attacks unless they were very skilled at what they did.

Toru for a short while went blow for blow with the shinobi, though he was soon chipping away at the other's defenses. Even if he allowed his guard to come down - which he did not - the hot chakra bubbling around him made it hard to get close to him, and even moreso to actually put any kind of damage on Toru's hide. Soon, he would outmaneuver the other. A nick here, a slice there.

You've really started to get the hang of that cloak huh?

Heheh... You and I it feels like it was meant to be.

Don't get sappy on me, Isobu-san. I have a mission to complete.

Toru felt a strong connection between himself and Isobu. So much so that a singular tail would appear from the cloak, willed there by him as he would finally outdo his opponent and give him a solid strike across the chest, diagonally. It would strike him down, he would try to get up, but Toru would impale him through the neck to end his life.

That didn't mean the rest of the ship was put down though and Toru had a lot of work to do. Still, he wouldn't just use his sword for it. His tail would turn into fists and begin bombarding any who would try to come near. It was an absolute annihilation in truth, and any who were shinobi trained would find themselves truly on the wrong end of the fiery Mizukage.
