SPECIES: Dromedary Camel

CHAKRA NATURE: Katon


APPEARANCE:
He has a humped back, long legs and a big-lipped snout. On his back is a large saddle and packs. Underneath those is a decorative quilt. The reins are also decorative where it connects to his face. He even has a feather on the top of his head to give him a regal look. Somehow, he has a constant mean-spirited smirk on his face. It makes anyone and everyone feel like they're being judged by him.


PERSONALITY:
Due to excessive pampering growing up, Taiyo has become extremely picky. He expects to be groomed daily and eat the best grain. If his needs are ignored, he will kick up a fuss until his expectations are met. This temperamental beast will not spare anyone from his ire. He doesn't usually kick or bite, but beware the spit.


ABILITIES:
Beast of Burden
He has amazing strength and endurance. Taiyo can carry about 1000lbs for long distances of travel without issue. However, for him to move full speed he can only carry half that weight.

Exceptional Expectorating
Somehow, this camel can expectorate with divine aim. The glob of saliva can travel about 12ft before the trajectory falls. His spit isn't harmful, it's just disgusting.

SPECIES: Bearded Vulture
RANK: B
CHAKRA NATURE: Fuuton


APPEARANCE:
He has an orange plumage on his head and breast with grey-black tail and wings. There is a black strip over his eyes. The coloring alone makes him look intimidating. It's a rare occurrence, but sometimes he will have a letter attached to his foot.


PERSONALITY:
His behavior is often misinterpreted as something sinister. Typically, Sora's only curious about the people and things around him. In fact, he boldly shoves himself into someone's space to investigate them. He can be quite playful but doesn't fully understand his own strength and the sharpness of his claws and beak.


ABILITIES:
Gluttony
Sora is not one to play with his food, so he prefers it dead; it doesn't have to be fresh. He can consume the entirety of an average human male, bones included, without trouble. Any more than that and it will negatively impact the speed of his flight or possibly keep him grounded. If he's eaten too much and feels threatened he will vomit the excess.

Sleuthhound
This vulture has the skill to accurately detect and track scents from 2km away. He must investigate closer to the ground when he's near their general area. Generally, he'll glide from roof to roof. When Sora finds the target, he'll circle them overhead.

SPECIES: Meerkat
RANK: A
CHAKRA NATURE: Doton


APPEARANCE:
He has grizzled gray and brown fur. There are dark patches around his eyes and on his tail. He has strong foreclaws and a pointed snout. He tends to stand upright and be on a constant lookout. It's not uncommon for him to give people the anxious side-eye.


PERSONALITY:
The best word to define him is skittish. If Daichi can't get away by burrowing underground, he'll use his owner as a shield. If his space is still invaded, he will growl in warning until it turns into a pathetic whine. Yet, this meerkat can easily be persuaded into a playful mood with trustworthy friends. His favorite game is to chase and be chased in rotation.


ABILITIES:
Brisk Burrow
This meerkat is capable of making small underground tunnels quickly. It's mostly used to escape from predators and other dangerous situations. However, he can burrow close enough to the surface that the weight of an enemy will cause it to collapse and trip them up. A deeper and more elaborate pit-like trap will take extra time and energy. A pit deep enough to trap the average human male takes 3 posts to set up.

Keen Eyesight
Daichi has the ability to see in the dark, which helps him navigate through the tunnels he burrows. And he can spot unobstructed and/or moving creatures and objects that are a far distance away. The closer someone is the harder it is for them to evade his detection. He has the ability to spot odd movements of a branch or patch of sand within 25ft. He can also identify camouflage if it's within 12ft of his position.

Toxin Immunity
He is immune to natural venom, and highly resistant to common poisons. Most poisons will make him sluggish, but it will wear off after resting for a few hours. Because of his innate immunity, he is also resistant to rare and man-made toxins. The effects will depend on the strength and the type but it should only take a few days to two weeks for a full recovery.

SPECIES: Hippopotamus
RANK: A
CHAKRA NATURE: Suiton


APPEARANCE:
He has a bulky body on stumpy legs, an enormous head and a short tail. Since he excretes extra red oil, this hippo looks more purple than gray. A patterned blanket is secured on his back with a bit of padding for a saddle. The reins tied to him are simple and functional. His eyes have a soft, calm look and he usually appears to be smiling.


PERSONALITY:
Umi is a calm creature that rarely gets spooked or irate, but can be easily distracted. Without constant direction he will wander off on a whim. He is the happiest in the water. If he could, Umi would probably spend his whole life just soaking in a lake.


ABILITIES:
Excessive Perspiration
He can perspire a red oil-like substance that protects him from the heat and the sun. This allows Umi to stay on land for extended periods of time before he needs to cool off in a source of water. This also gives him minor resistance to fire. Any glancing flames will not have an effect. However, a lasting flame source or a fire attack that directly hits will injure and burn him.

Breath Discipline
Umi can inhale a ton of air. This allows him to hold his breath for 8 minutes. He can also control his buoyancy at will, allowing him to float and swim at any level of water. To travel as fast as possible, he will purposefully let himself sink and run along the bottom (as long as it's not too deep).

Iron Fang
He has a nasty bite. It can bend metal, snap wood and crush bones. At the very least, it will immobilize an enemy. Typically, his bite will crush their bones. If they're particularly unlucky, the force of the bite will cause the larger incisors will pierce through their body. A physically strong individual should be able to stop his open mouth from chomping down, or reduce the force of it, with enough effort.

SPECIES: Horned Viper
RANK: S
CHAKRA NATURE: Raiton


APPEARANCE:
She has a triangular head, stout body and short tail. The scales on the dorsal side are keeled, and two horns protrude just above her eyes. Her coloring is almost identical to the sands of the desert. She doesn't look particularly friendly or menacing. Her graceful movements tend to lure in the curious.


PERSONALITY:
This is a one-owner snake. Hoshi is quick to bite anyone or anything that gets near her. This irritable viper is always vigilant, even when she's pretending not to be. She likes tricking people and creatures around her into a false sense of security before lunging at them. Hoshi has a high instinct for prey and constantly wants to act on her impulses to ambush and strike. On the other hand, she's quite the cuddler with her owner. She will wrap herself around them and be content to share warmth.


ABILITIES:
Camouflage
She is a talented predator that can stealthily maneuver, while creating the least amount of sound possible. In the desert, Hoshi perfectly blends in with the sands. Outside the desert, she can maneuver through tall grass, shadows, and anything else the environment gifts her to stay hidden. She can be very difficult, but not impossible, to detect. Anyone with an empathic ability will sense her bloodlust.

Sensory Data
Hoshi has the ability to discover and hunt heat signatures with infrared sight in a 12ft radius. If sight isn't an option, she can also listen to the vibrations of the ground to detect and keep track of the movement nearby prey. It only works if they're within 7ft of her position.

Agility
She can dash and strike at incredible speeds. Her short sprints can keep up with a body flicker technique. She's built to ambush her enemies and, thus, doesn't have much endurance. She will lose stamina quickly in a prolonged skirmish.

Potent Venom
The venom causes swelling, haemorrhage, necrosis, nausea, vomiting, and haematuria. If the victim is repeatedly attacked, the sheer amount of it can cause cardiotoxicity and myotoxicity. The anti-venom is well-known and not difficult to produce or obtain. It's typically not fatal. However, if the victim has a high enough dosage in their system, they could die within 48 hours without treatment.

An extremely good menagerie.

My only note is on Hoshi's Potent Venom SA. I'd like a little more specificity on how many attacks it takes for the dosage to be fatal within 48 hours, as well as how long it takes (in rotations) for the venom to affect the victim after an attack is made. I truly hate being a numbers guy, but poisons can get wacky and super-strong if hard limits aren't specified from the jump.

Additional obligatory note that while you are permitted to have up to 5 familiars as a jounin, you can only have 1 accompany you in battle threads and non-social (i.e. training or mission) threads. I know you've read the familiar rules, but it's worth restating here for clarity's sake!
