Shoton NAME: Kurisutarureiku no Jutsu [Crystal Lake] RANK: C CHAKRA USAGE: Varies CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Shoton HANDSEALS: 1 DESCRIPTION: Building off of the Chiri Konpakushon no Jutsu [Dirt Compaction] jutsu the user holds the Snake Seal pouring their chakra into the earth around them to convert the material beneath their feet into a thin hardened two inch thick pool of crystal. The Radius of this pool varies based on the amount of chakra put into it increasing by fifty meters per level. This jutsu is commonly used to assess the chakra pools of Tenchi clan members.

Shoton  NAME: Daiyamondodasuto [Diamond Dust] RANK: B CHAKRA USAGE: Medium CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Shoton HANDSEALS: 3 DESCRIPTION: Forming the three hand seals the user expels their charka upwards into the air forming snowflake like crystals that descends from the sky akin to a snowstorm within a fifty meter radius. When these crystal flakes come into contact with any material aside from their user they turn the surface area they connect with into crystal. Forming patches of hardened glittering frost like diamonds that slow their opponents down until they either leave the storm or become fully encased in crystal. Lasts three rotations.

Shoton NAME: Irakusakurisutaru [Stinging Nettle Crystal] RANK: A CHAKRA USAGE: Low & Very Low to Maintain CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu ELEMENT: Shoton HANDSEALS: Two DESCRIPTION: Forming the two handseals a set of self healing spiked boots and gauntlets form over the users hands and feet. In addition to increasing the power of the users taijutsu strikes the needle like spikes break off inside the wounds painfully crystallizing the flesh around them within a five inch radius. Before the gauntlets and boots regrow their spines.

Overall: Shoton techniques should have the Muten Branch requirement attached to them, as the clan's Shoton users universally exist within the Muten branch.

Crystal Lake: Normally we tend to stray away from variable cost techs, and this reads as a stronger, variable version of Dirt Compaction. To keep this one, it should be changed to a straightforward improvement on Dirt Compaction. Set a specific radius for the crystal pool. (I understand that Dirt Compaction doesn't have one, but staff is in the process of balancing clan jutsu and that is a clear edit that would be made to the technique when we get to the Ame list.) If it has fewer handseals than Dirt Compaction, it should have a higher chakra cost. If you want to keep the chakra cost to low, then it should have at least four handseals and the requirement of touching the ground to activate.

Diamond Dust: For a technique with a 50m radius, this should have significantly more handseals. Either keep the 50m radius and increase the number of handseals to 10, or decrease the radius (though it should still have around 5-6 handseals for a lesser radius, as it is a wide-impact, higher-ranking ninjutsu technique.)

Stinging Nettle Crystal: There's already an A-rank tech that provides a taijutsu boost, which would be Crystal Armor. I would recommend re-writing this technique to be used once Crystal Armor is already active, ie adding spikes to the user's hands and feet. Maintenance cost should be increased to medium, and there should be a handseal trigger required in order to activate the crystallization that occurs once the needles have been broken off in the target's wounds.
