{ } "Not terribly long ago, no, but without any kind of rock formations or shelter there's little telling what direction they ran off in." Asahi replied as the duo continued to search the area. Sandstorms were no joke and it was all too easy to get turned around in the chaos of the whipping wind and dust not to mention trying to keep whichever animals they were using as cart carriers calm and protected. Alas, traders had been crossing this desert for hundreds of years moving wares and more often than not they had developed ways to make it through such occurrences without issue, so what had happened to these guys? Asahi was beginning to run dry on possible leads when Zakku's exclamation turned his interest to the locket that he found. There was a good chance it could have just been knocked off of the person who was wearing it during the storm but a piece of jewelry, a wrecked wagon, and some mysterious contraband were too much of coincidence at this point and it would have been wrong to dismiss the notion of foul play. "Let me see if I can pop it open, at the very least there could be a picture or something that can help us out." The boy spoke as he attempted to find a clasp or something of the sort that would reveal the inner contents. Most of these pieces of jewelry held little more than a small picture of a loved one, but at this point something was better than nothing. Pulling the clasp apart a tiny folded slip of paper fell from the locket onto the sand that Asahi was quick to sweep up before the winds got hold of it. Upon unravelling it there could be seen a hastily written note, or at least a few hastily written letters: O E T. "Ah damn, I think you're right. Whoever this belongs to must have overheard where they were being taken and tried to write a note and ditched it with the locket. We gotta try and cut them off before they get to the city, once they hit the coast the merchants and whatever else they were carrying could be shipped off anywhere."While Roran might have been the most known coastal city in Kaze no Kuni it was not the only one with Oetsu being another on the opposite side of the country. Unfortunately it had the privilege of being located both just south of the Badlands and on the other side of a mountain range which made it a not too hot traveling destination, but a perfect location for wanting to offload stolen merchandise and people. "If I had to guess with them not ditching all the carts they are probably going to go all the way west until they get to the split in the mountain range where they can turn south to Oetsu. It's a lot of ground to make up but we're not the ones lugging around a bunch of heavy wagons and animals so I think we should be able to catch up to them. You ready?"Burokon ZakkuMADE BY VEL OF GS
