Azarea would perhaps be one of the first to admit she had never quite understood the revulsion the Shitai elicited among Kumogakure's shinobi population. Familiar insults such as 'parasite' and 'monster' had been spat her her more then once in her life and to walk Kumogakure's streets and hear them instead hurled at another always made her twitch. The Shitai kept Kumogakure's prisoner population low, a necessary evil, and worked well enough in the medical community. Rumors had it the blood donated in such drives went into the Shitai's stomachs as often as it did into the veins of the injured, but did it truly matter so long as the clan did it's job and didn't cause trouble?

Well Azarea certainly didn't mind, but then again her hive likely made her less then tasty to anyone that thought she was a good meal. Though it was disheartening to see the mission request for the clan... and how it had been ignored by most shinobi of Kumogakure. Truthfully Azarea herself wasn't certain if it was her sense of duty or pity that prompted her to claim the mission, but here she was all the same winding her way through the market area where the Shitai had set up their tents for the blood drive. The signs of vandalism and destruction already apparently from the rips in the cloth structures and the slurs painted in red paint across the various tents. Azarea grimacing at one particularly nasty turn of phrase before she brushes aside the ragged tarp and steps into where she was meant to meet her Shitai contact.

"Good afternoon. I'm Azarea. The mission desk sent me to investigate the issues your clan has been having with the blood drive." The woman greets with a polite dip of her head, the lack of last name telling, but where a bastard might be frowned upon by other clans perhaps with the Shitai it might be viewed as a boon? After all it means the other clans had yet to prejudice her.

The person who had ordered the mission was a member of the Shitai clan named Chiga. He had the peculiar appearance of the members of the clan, looking more like a corpse and with very sharp teeth. The ashen skin was unnerving to many, but that was not a characteristic exclusive of Chiga. And because of that, people had been vandalizing the tents they were setting up for the festival. A lot of expensive equipment had been destroyed, not only once, but twice now, and they needed to bring it to a stop. The culprit needed to be found so that their tents and medical tools could be left intact and in an useable state.

"Thank you for answering to our request. Are you sure you can find the culprit and help keep our tents safe from the attacks? This is a very important occasion for our clan. It may create a bridge of understanding between us and the village." the man said, with a concerned tone. It was clear this was of paramount importance, and although he wasn't doubting Azarea's capabilities, her presence there alone was bringing some trouble to his heart.

Investigation

"I believe finding and capturing them to be taken in by the Kumogakure no Sato Police won't be of major issue for me. I'm rather good at concealing my presence and my skills with genjutsu lends themselves well to incapacitation." Azarea assures him as she sweeps the man over with a curious gaze noting his pale skin and sharp teeth. Not that she can comment on that front as she toys with the tip of her own fangs with her tongue. Though seeing the man before her not she suddenly understands why when she was ill and had forgotten or forgone filing her teeth others had been so quick to shy away from her. Mistaking her sickly pallor apparently for one of the Shitai.

"Can you tell me a bit about the incidents? When has the vandalism been occurring? Has any of your staff seen anything? Or were they off shift when the attacks happened?" She questions with a slight tilt of her head her scarlet eyes flicking to her surroundings looking for any clues or hints of what she might be dealing with. The woman wandering over to inspect one of the slash marks in the cut fabric comparing it with the marks she knows to be made by a kunai to see if they were one and the same. It would hopefully be telling whether they are dealing with shinobi or merely civilian unrest.

Her words helped the man grow more confident that she may be up for the task. Yes, she was a Genin, but she was also a grown woman, which helped the case, especially since it was a mission that required tracking and stealth. "Very well. I feel better." the man admitted.

When questioned about the incidents, he nodded. "The first one occurred nine days ago. We left the tents at night, after working on putting them up. The next morning, when we arrived, we saw tears on it, and some of the equipment went missing. It wasn't something caused by a creature, it was too... Human..." he said, scratching his chin. "The last attack happened a day ago. The main difference was that this one had a message. They wrote 'monsters' in one of the tents, with a knife on the fabric..." he said, sighing. "We had guard doing rounds in the area, but they must've watched them and attacked while they were away from that particular tent..." a long shrug, and he turned back to her. "This is what happened."

A Plan

"I see..." Azarea murmured rocking back on her heels slightly as she considers the situation at hand. The slander likely hinted at someone with shinobi background or at least relations to them as civilians did not have the same distaste for the Shitai that most ninja had. Potentially a relative of one of their death row convicts? Or simply someone with a grudge and no power beyond this to exert it. Shaking her head at her own musings Azarea turned to face Chiga.

"Please continue in your efforts to replace the tent and broken equipment and don't mind any insects you may see. I'm going to deploy my hive to spread out to keep an eye on your entire camp and take a position up atop one of the nearby buildings so I can see the entire area. Kindly don't mention my presence to the guard just in case he allowed such vandalism to happen." She informed him as shaking out her arms a small army of little fuzzy golden bugs spilled from her sleeves to disperse about the camp in question. "With luck I should have your vandals by tomorrow if they choose to strike while the iron is hot in an attempt to force you out." Azarea assured him with a polite nod and a small fanged smile. Always good to be on decent terms with the local clans even one as disliked as the Shitai. As lifting a hand the kunoichi formed a seal and disappeared right before her employers eyes. Not wanting them or anyone for that matter to see her entering and leaving the tent in case the attacker was surveying the area even now.

The woman instead making her way quietly through the tents until she spotted a multistory building that would give her the view of the area she wanted. Her bugs quietly informing her that they were in position as channeling chakra to her feet the woman ascended the side of the building to perch herself upon the roof and keep watch.

This jutsu while not being able to be used offensively can make many jobs much more simple. This technique causes all other people who can see the user's handseal to not notice them. Meaning that when someone is using this technique people will subconsciously not take notice of them, the affected person(s) eyes looking around or right past them. Even in combat this can be a useful technique, as long as the user holds the seal the opponent will find it impossible to bring any focus on the user from their five main senses.

A technique meant for assassinations and infiltrations, its only true drawback is the small amount of chakra required to maintain it and the fact that the user must hold the seal while using it, making them unable to use other techniques. This technique however does not stop the target(s) from utilizing additional senses from detecting them. This including, but not limited to sensor shinobi.

By applying chakra to the soles of the feet, the shinobi gains the ability to walk and stand on vertical surfaces or even upside down.

The man nodded when she told him to continue his efforts, and when she mentioned insects, he hesitated for a second, but then nodded again; every shinobi had their own tools, and if hers were insects, and they proved to be efficient, he was satisfied. "I shall keep your presence a secret." he affirmed to her, and when she said she should have them by tomorrow, if she was lucky he responded with a bit more enthusiasm. "May luck smile upon you, then." and with that, they would part ways, so that the girl could take care of the mission she was assigned to.

Azarea would walk around and find a total of three tents, all evenly spread out in the area where the festival was to occur. They were significantly far apart, to the point it would require at least five guard to keep them under surveillance at all time, a far larger number the the one they had at their disposal during the attacks. Finding a roof top, she would wait, with her kikaichu watching the area, but nothing would happen during the daytime hours.

Observations

Ordering her Kikaichu to take roost upon the tops of the various tents and the areas surrounding them Azarea positioned herself out of sight before allowing the jutsu to drop. Setting up the Cloak of Invisibility technique instead to allow for longer term surveillance in comfort from her makeshift hunting blind. From which she was able to survey the surrounding area from above carefully observing to see if anyone was paying too much or too close attention to the tents or appeared to be lurking where they should not. Occasionally checking in with her bugs to see if they saw or smelled anything suspicious. Her Kikiachu as good as ten or twenty guards in her private opinion, but she wouldn't point that out to her employer. Though the fact they had only one guard for three tents was not a good sign and she doubted Chiga didn't realize they needed more security. The fact they had reached out to the mission desk rather then hire more guards meant it was unlikely there were more guards too hire.

Which made the one who had agreed to the work all the more suspicious as Azarea split her attention between observing him and the surroundings to gauge what kind of man he was. Whether he just needed the money or if he'd taken the work because it gave him easier access to his target. An enemy wearing a friends mask was harder to pin down after all as the Kunoichi waited for the light to fade and the night to set in. Hopefully bringing with it her target or targets.

Her theory had its merits. The Shitai were not very well seeing, so the fact they only had one guard at their disposal, and that they hired the village for a mission so that they could ensure the safety of their tents was further evidence how bad their situation was. It was paramount for the clan's future and image that their tents were operational during the festival, and they were willing to bet a lot into that.

With the cloak of invisibility technique, Azarea kept herself properly hidden until the the daylight was gone, and the stars could be seeing in the village. The guard started to do his rounds, walking from one tent to the other. It seemed like he was taking his job seriously at the very least, and it wouldn't be until a couple hours had passed, that her kikaichu would detect some movement neart the tent on the right side of the area, the one the guard had just walked by not a couple minutes ago.

Unseen

The guard at least seemed to be taking his job seriously. It did not entirely rule him out, but Azarea felt secure enough to leave her Kikaichu to monitor him instead as she formed a handseal flickering out of sight as she dropped the cloak of invisibility to move across the roof tops towards the tent to the right. Settling down on another nearby roof as she glanced around looking to see what her insects had detected.

If it was the perpetrators all the better. The Shitai's desperations earning her sympathy if nothing else. Perhaps if they could better their reputation with the civilians they might work their way up to reforming their image with the shinobi population given Kumogakure's high number of civilian born shinobi. It wasn't much, but it was a start and admittedly the lack of judgement from Chiga in regards to her Kikiachu had endeared her somewhat as one who hailed from a strange clan to another. Glancing towards the tent to the right Azarea reached out with her chakra tagging a nearby barrel in case she needed to pull off a quick escape or a quicker block. One of her insects moving to flit towards the movement to join her in her investigation as the rest primed to attack

After performing the necessary hand seals (one post prior to the technique's use) and locating a nearby object within a 10 meter radius (typically a log or something of similar size to their body.), the user switches places with the said object just before an attack lands, creating an optical illusion. During the small interval where they have left their opponent surprised, they may take the time to attack or flee.

Narrowing down the scope of her search certainly helped identifying the suspicious movement down there. The individual, dressed in pitch black clothing, covering every part of his body save for his dark eyes, carefully sneak around from shadow to shadow, making their way towards the tent. It took the guard around eighteen minutes to make the rounds around the area, so that was the time he had available.

Reaching out to a small kodachi on the back of his obi, the person hot ready to attack the tent if Azarea didn't intervene. From the way they moved and how stealthy they managed to be, it was fair to assume they had at least basic Shinobi training, or was an experienced thief. Fortunately, the individual didn't seem to have noticed the presence of the Aburame yet, and as such, was focusing his attention on the tent.

Beneath The Mask

Azarea's clients had paid her well to ensure the tents and their equipment came to no harm and she would do just that politics be damned. As channeling chakra through her legs Azarea dropped her genjutsu flashing forward with a Shunshin to land right in her opponents path. Her scarlet eyes glinting in the moonlight like burning coals, "I wouldn't do that if I was you." She murmured shooting her opponent a glare as she stretched out her chakra looking to snag and bind him with her genjutsu as she orders one of her Kikaichu to land upon the mans back. Should she fail to apprehend him she could at least track the vandal with the help of her bugs.

Though her genjutsu snare him however Azarea would cautiously approach reaching out to first take the weapon from his hands and then second tug the mask off the perpetrator to bare his face to her perusal. "Let's see who you are without the anonymity of a mask and the cover of darkness to hide your guilt shall we?" She murmured with a cold cutting smile. Not yet ordering her Kikaichu to disperse from the other tents wary that there might be other perpetrators. At least not until she had a chance to interrogate this one.

By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

DESCRIPTION:
As the name suggests, the user binds the opponent in a genjutsu by the opponent viewing the user glare, rendering them incapable of movement; and this genjutsu can be used on more than one target at the same time. Unlike other genjutsu that use illusory objects to stop movements, this genjutsu simply affects the target's sense of touch to make it feel as if every inch of their body surrounded by hardened cement, effectively paralyzing the target. Once the target(s) are bound, the user or an ally can rush up to the enemy and deliver a devastating killing blow.

The individual did not anticipate any intervention, so when Azarea used the body flicker technique to appeared in between the individual and the tent, they leaped back as a reflex placing the blade in front of themselves, showing they had some sharp Reflexes in the very least, a testament that they were not your average civilian in regards to fighting.

"Out of my way! I don't have time to waste! If you don't, I will force you!" his voice was masculine, and seemed serious enough with their threat, but what they were not prepared for was for the Genjutsu binding technique, which paralyzed the entirety of their bodies.

The man groaned and tried to fight it, but it was useless; even if he knew the Genjutsu cancellation technique - which he didn't - he would need to be able to waive a hand seal in order for it to work. Therefore, he could.do nothing as she removed his mask, revealing his face... Which was not really familiar to the woman at all.

Reasons

The Kunoichi cocked her head to the side curious as she studied the mans face in case she might later need to pick him out of a lineup. Playing out the time for the Guard to return so she could send him to fetch the police. However... curiosity couldn't help, but get the better of her. The man was skilled. Certainly at least the level of a basic genin to react to her sudden approach and the way he handled the blade showed he had training. Given Kumo's desperate need for shinobi the fact he had not joined or been encouraged into the forces was a surprise.

"So care to tell me why someone of your skill is resorting to petty vandalism? You must have some reason to attack this camp and be determined enough to fight to do so instead of just fleeing the second you met resistance." Azarea pointed out careful to keep the upkeep of chakra needed to maintain the binding lest the man slip away.

"Why bother with any of this?" She questions as she slowly arches a single dark red brow indicating that if the man wished to speak his case it was now or forever hold his peace.

The young man scoffed at her words. "Vandalism?! I'm doing the Gods work by keeping that trash away from our land. Have you taken a look at those freaks?! Or are you blind?! They are monsters! They are using deceit to make us think they are one of us! And I will rather be dead than allowed them to sink their claws into our nation!" there was plenty of passion - and hatred - in his tone, and it was becoming evident now that this was a hate crime, one motivated by extreme prejudice against those who happened to be different.

He tried - uselessly - to break away from that genjutsu, but to no avail, and at this point, he pretty much knew he was at the red-haired's mercy, and so he sighed. "End me, I don't care. I regret nothing." he snorted, cracking a bitter grin in his feature. "History will prove me right. And there will be others." he boldly stated.

Condemnation

"Hmm no. I don't think I will. There's really only one cure for your sort." Azarea murmured as she channeled chakra into the earth dropping through the hard packed ground as she pulled the man into the dirt up to his neck sealing him there. Only then once he was contained did she release her genjutsu freeing him as she pulled out a pen and proceeded to doodle on the imprisoned man's face. Painting his appearance as a crude porcine facsimile and writing the kanji for 'Racist Pig' on his forehead nice and big for the entire world to see. Before grabbing one of the nearby blank signs and carefully inscribing it with the flashy title of [Come See the Amazing Earth Dwelling Pig Man! Listen as he spews oinks that sound like racist slurs and attempts to justify his theft of your much needed medical supplies and aid! Pointing and Jeering Recommended] Before painting a big arrow leading right to her captive target and ensuring the sign would be seen by all come morning. Then with a smile Azarea leaned back to watch the chaos unfold.

There was no greater cure for bigotted racism then public condemnation and shaming and if nothing else to see such a lowly being making a mockery of himself yelling in anger would only earn the Shitai sympathy for having the patience to calmly and non-violently deal with such issues. Come the end of the day Azarea would gladly dig the man back up and hand him off to the authorities, but she rather thought Chiga might enjoy her creativity.
