A lot of shinobi considered tailing missions, especially ones that took place inside the village, childish work and would rather leave it to the freshly graduated genin, but Nari actually enjoyed that sort of work. He knew the entire city like the back of his hand, but he always enjoyed seeing it from different angles. Knowing all the possible shortcuts made it made it easier to pull off escape routes when his pranks managed to anger the more motivated civilians. Tailing people was just one way for Narihira to discover those paths.

The young man sat along the edge of a roof near the client's house, feet kicking in the open air, Hisuiyuri lying across his lap. reading the mission scroll that he had been given detailing the mission. Some lady had worries that her boyfriend was being unfaithful so she wanted someone to follow him and report on his activities. Hiring shinobi to tail the guy seemed like overkill in Nari's opinion, but he didn't really understand relationships in general, so maybe this kind of thing was normal.

It wasn't too much longer until Nari was supposed to meet up with his partner for this mission. The mission scroll had told those who had accepted to meet at the client’s house to get a run down of who exactly they would be following, since the advert hadn’t gone too into detail - possibly in case someone who was friends with the boyfriend saw it.

Now all he needed to was wait for whoever was his assigned partner to show up.

  A young member of the scattered Araikettei Clan, Narihira has the ability to wield the strange and powerful Life Blades. He created his own Blade at a young age, under the tutelage of his mother, however, instead of making a sword as was common for the Clan members, Narihira designed his in the shape of a polearm.

  Giving it the name Hisuiyuri, he began learning to properly wield it from the moment he could hold it. Due to the connection the blade shares with him, should it ever be broken, both Narihora and the blade's soul would die, so he keeps it on his person at all times and cares for it meticulously.
• 『Deep Chakra Pool』[break]
  Narihira was lucky to be born with a deeper-than-average chakra pool. It allows him to fight and use jutsu for longer periods of time before he tires, compared to those with average-sized chakra pools. It's especially useful for him, due to the fact that his Life Blade is constantly absorbing chakra from him. But thanks to the depth of his stores, he never feels the strain from that drain unless he has depleted the polearm's stores in combat.
• 『Life Blade Chakra』[break]
  As all Life Blades, Hisuiyuri absorbs Nari's chakra continuously as he carries it around, stacking up a decent amount of chakra inside of itself equal to half its wielder's chakra pool. The chakra becomes Hisuiyuri's and cannot be accessed by anyone other than the spear, allowing it to have the ability to self-repair small nicks and scratches it may obtain during combat.

  It also allows Hisuiyuri to have its own built-in security in case someone other than Nari grabs onto it. Using its futon chakra, sharp blades of wind will strike at the stranger's hands and arms until they release the spear. These gouges are minor cuts but they do sting quite a bit if they manage to hit skin.

  When entering combat, Hisuiyuri will use its own stores to fuel its abilities until it runs out and then will begin taking from Narihira. Thanks to his deeper-than-average chakra pools the wielder and weapon are able to go for a decent length of time-fighting in that state, but eventually, it will cause Nari to lose consciousness if the spear takes too much chakra.
• 『Flying Jades』[break]
  Using its natural affinity to fūton, Hisuiyuri is able to detach the six small jade points that line the sides of its spearhead and allow them to hover. By sacrificing the shredding ability the points usually grant the spear, Narihira is able to fire them off either one-by-one or all at once towards his opponents.

  At it's current skill level, Hisuiyuri's points move at a speed slightly quicker than a regular thrown kunai, due to being powered by fūton chakra and Narihira's able to control the path the points take up to 30m.

A lot of shinobi considered tailing missions, especially ones that took place inside the village, childish work. Some saw it as tedious, or pride flew up again causing it to be 'beneath' them. But someone had to do it, and when it came to trailing someone for a secret- it was best to be someone of no note. Which meant Konsho was very very confused as to why HE was assigned to this mission. The child had a target painted on his back by virtue of his mom happening to like one person of note in the village. Sure he wasn't going to be going against anyone who could gain anything from his existence- but rumors still spread and there was no way people hadn't heard of him. Which made stealth... difficult.

When Konsho arrived at the location, he would easily notice the kid with him whom seemed very... bouncy. At least at the moment. Konsho didn't trust that kind of persona in Takigakure. Especially as he wasn't being subtle about it... Although maybe that was a sign it was genuine? Getting distracted. Focus. Shaking his head, Konsho would make a quick set of leaps, bouncing between two walls to get to his partner for this mission. "Fukase I presume?" Konsho would state in his usual flat tone. If there was any one benefit that one wouldn't think of being the guy who handles the paperwork- you tend to know who you're assigned with before hand. There was a simultaneous mix of rhyme and dissonance between the two shinobi. One was casual and aloof, the other stood straight and stood as if on a diplomatic mission- yet both had similar dark cool colored hair and bright warm colored. Both wore a mix of bright and darker colors, but Konsho's was simple whilst Narihika's were extravagant. Both were notable due to reputation and rumors, but one's appearance was simple and dismiss able- whilst the other's was loud and easy to pick out. This was making for a strange mission. Nari had tucked away the scroll after reading over it once more and had moved on to tending to Hisuiyuri to make sure it was in perfect condition. Didn’t need the spear acting up on him because he had forgotten to wipe some blemish off of it.

Then the sound of footsteps reached his ears and he straightened up to see a kid around his age approaching. Probably his partner, which was confirmed when the guy asked his name. Nari confirmed with a nod and a grin. "That’s me! Feel free to call me by my first name," he said, "I don’t mind."

The other boy, Chizawa Konsho, was definitely much more withdrawn than he was. It was painfully obvious. But maybe that kind of behavior would be better for the mission they were on. Less attention being drawn and all that.

Nari hopped up to his feet, slinging Hisuiyuri into its spot on his back. "Pleased to meet you too, Chizawa-kun," he extended a hand in a friendly gesture, but wouldn’t be insulted if the other boy didn’t shake it.

"So, ready to go meet our client and figure out if her boyfriend is a rotten cheater?" he moved to the edge of the roof, aiming to jump down and head to the lady’s house once Konsho was ready.

Konsho was still uncertain on the blatantly jovial personality of his mission partner, both his past experiences and testimonies from Ryu having lead him to believe that the only time one was polite and kind to someone was when they wanted something in return. As with all things there were exceptions to this supposedly iron clad ruling, as few things ever were absolute, but the red eyed shinobi knew that if he assumed malice that it was better to be proven incorrect than find he had made a convenient assumption. Until proven otherwise, the other genin was to be treated as a shining smile; meant to conceal the dagger.

Cautiously, the blue haired shinobi would extend his right arm out, shaking the more energetic mirror's hand for a brief instant. The brief interaction would allow him to gauge his own grip strength against the other, although Konsho was aware comparing most shinobi's strength against his own was unfair. His had been grown through a mix of natural talent, grind stone training, and a reliance on taijutsu. It was rare for people to match him in any aspect of physical ability. Still it was best to err on the side of caution, in the event he had read the situation correctly.

When the handshake was returned, Nari’s smile grew even wider, glad that his show of friendship was being accepted. But he could still feel some apprehension from the other boy. Well, he couldn’t have that. Secondary goal for this day: make Konsho consider him a friend.

When Konsho called him Fukase, the teen pouted at the usage of his last name, despite his request to use his first. But he quickly rallied, pulling himself up and squaring his shoulders. "Cool," he said with a nod, "Let’s get going."

He jumped down from the rooftop, alighting onto the street, expecting Konsho to follow. Nari wasn’t exactly sure about how the two of them would go about figuring out if the boyfriend was a cheater, but he figured the best thing to do right now was to find the guy and tail him as he went about his day.

The lady who had sent in the request had said that the boyfriend usually left her house for his job around this time, so if they hurried, they would be able to catch him as he left.

As they neared the aforementioned house, Nari pointed up to the rooftops of the nearby buildings "We’ll get a better view from up there," he said to Konsho, and used wall walking to climb up.

Then it was a waiting game, but it wasn’t a long one. After about ten minutes, a guy fitting the description of the boyfriend emerged from the lady’s house and began heading for the town proper. It was easy to follow along on the rooftops while remaining quiet, so that’s what the boy would begin doing unless Konsho had any interjections that would stop him.

• 『Zanjutsu』[break]
  A young member of the scattered Araikettei Clan, Narihira has the ability to wield the strange and powerful Life Blades. He created his own Blade at a young age, under the tutelage of his mother, however, instead of making a sword as was common for the Clan members, Narihira designed his in the shape of a polearm.

  Giving it the name Hisuiyuri, he began learning to properly wield it from the moment he could hold it. Due to the connection the blade shares with him, should it ever be broken, both Narihora and the blade's soul would die, so he keeps it on his person at all times and cares for it meticulously.
• 『Deep Chakra Pool』[break]
  Narihira was lucky to be born with a deeper-than-average chakra pool. It allows him to fight and use jutsu for longer periods of time before he tires, compared to those with average-sized chakra pools. It's especially useful for him, due to the fact that his Life Blade is constantly absorbing chakra from him. But thanks to the depth of his stores, he never feels the strain from that drain unless he has depleted the polearm's stores in combat.
• 『Life Blade Chakra』[break]
  As all Life Blades, Hisuiyuri absorbs Nari's chakra continuously as he carries it around, stacking up a decent amount of chakra inside of itself equal to half its wielder's chakra pool. The chakra becomes Hisuiyuri's and cannot be accessed by anyone other than the spear, allowing it to have the ability to self-repair small nicks and scratches it may obtain during combat.

  It also allows Hisuiyuri to have its own built-in security in case someone other than Nari grabs onto it. Using its futon chakra, sharp blades of wind will strike at the stranger's hands and arms until they release the spear. These gouges are minor cuts but they do sting quite a bit if they manage to hit skin.

  When entering combat, Hisuiyuri will use its own stores to fuel its abilities until it runs out and then will begin taking from Narihira. Thanks to his deeper-than-average chakra pools the wielder and weapon are able to go for a decent length of time-fighting in that state, but eventually, it will cause Nari to lose consciousness if the spear takes too much chakra.
• 『Flying Jades』[break]
  Using its natural affinity to fūton, Hisuiyuri is able to detach the six small jade points that line the sides of its spearhead and allow them to hover. By sacrificing the shredding ability the points usually grant the spear, Narihira is able to fire them off either one-by-one or all at once towards his opponents.

  At it's current skill level, Hisuiyuri's points move at a speed slightly quicker than a regular thrown kunai, due to being powered by fūton chakra and Narihira's able to control the path the points take up to 30m.
