There had been a lot of hustle and bustle in the time leading up to the start of the Chunin exams and now that they had begun there was even more of a buzz around the city. Keeping a population tacit was already a tall task but it was a completely different animal when it came to people from all over the world, especially when some didn't really care for each other. Most were smart enough, or had been instructed at the very least, to not cause trouble out of fear of ruining their own or their respective village's reputation but leaving things up to chance was not the mark of any great nation and the powers at be would not leave Iwa flat footed should trouble arise.

Ouritsu had found himself as part of the preventative action in the form of being assigned to patrol duty in Kuwana and was tasked like many others to ensure that nothing out of the ordinary was going on around the city. With this many people from all over there would no doubt be some odd happenings in the form of traditional customs and what not but crime was what he had been tasked with looking out for. He had hoped that by being part of the group that had volunteered to give tutelage to the participants leading up to the official start of the exams that would have exempted him from such duties, and while it wasn't hard work the opportunity to just walk around and take in the festivities was something he didn't want to miss. Alas, the young man was still very much a shinobi from Iwa and part of the general operations team which meant he'd always be picked for mundane tasks such as these.

Thankfully he wouldn't be walking the streets alone as Taki had also been assigned to the patrol detail so at the very least he'd have someone to talk to while they made their way around the city, though Ouritsu imagined he'd be spending most of their conversation trying to decipher that thick accent. He wondered just how many people were able to understand her during that opening spiel but wouldn't dare ask because she could definitely take him in a fight. A soft chuckle escaped the Nohime as he glanced about the residential district that they had agreed to meet up at. He figured getting one of the more boring locations out of the way first was a good idea and if they played their cards right they'd be able to finish up at either the market or the arena where all the fun stuff was happening.

With her recent promotion and being a member of the village watch for the duration of the chunin exams the girl was set and ready to get moving, she was asked for one of them to dress casually and the other to wear uniform and Taki drew the short end of the stick, she wasn’t commonly seen in uniform but would grin and bear it just for today since she had too, at the colors were based around her clan and the hood at the end was a nice touch.

The girl looked a little stuffy in it since it wasn't really her thing, but a jobs a job hopefully she could manage to weasel her way out of it. "So where we startin today?” the girl would ask as she meandered down the road alongside the purple haired Chunin.

"Thinkin there’ll be any trouble?” the girl would look around at the surrounding area to see for any signs of any issues before looking back at her partner; she'd only ever really seen him once during the summit that was held before the exams actually began. But she’d never been formally introduced. He knew who she was because let’s be honest who didn’t but her knowing him on the other hand. "And Uhh by da way, what’d you say ya name was again…Orhio…or sumtin like dat?” she knew he was a Nohime but that was about it.

"I think the residential area is a good place. Make sure no one's snooping about or trying to break in or anything." Ouritsu would reply as the two began their trek. Having this many people here from so many different places was likely a stressful experience for those in charge of accommodations and what not. People from such and such village couldn't be next to those from xyz village and so on and so forth and having to play that game of mental chess did not sound appealing. Granted, people were instructed to be on their best behavior but sometimes decades of deep seeded hatred got the better of people.

"Hopefully not, if anything it'll be around the bars and restaurants when people get a little too much liquid courage in 'em." He would add. No matter how riled up people got at the end of the day they always needed a place to lay their head and the last thing they'd do is jeopardize their place to stay so thankfully things seemed to be pretty calm at least on this front.

"Nohime Ouritsu." The chunin would reply attempting to not look into the woman forgetting his name already. He couldn't really blame Taki given there were a ton of shinobi in the village and it was tough to keep track of everyone. Besides, it wasn't like he had done much noteworthy since his own chunin exams all those years ago anyway.

As the two started walking they’d make their way towards the residential area the ivory line these people hated the Okada finding to them to be rather uncooth since they were a tad uppity and on the snootier side. As they made their way through the place the tall girl would snort as she looked about at the place. "Good ol Ivory line…buncha poodly basta’ds.” the girl would say as she made her way through the streets looking around at the well put together buildings.

"If I wadn’t dressed like dis dey might tink I was tryna do em in.” she’d look about checking around for anything suspicious. As they moved about he’d remark about how people would have something in their system that made them act up liquid courage he called it. "I hoid about dat…my dad won’t let me try any though, soona we get outta ere da betta.” the girl would say somewhat curious as to what alcohol must be like but it was probably for the best that she stayed away from it, once he clarified his name.

"A’ight you got it Ohrio, I ain’t forgettin it…” the girl would say giving him a thumbs up after gettin him to repeat his name. With that she’d carry on through this tacky place known as the Ivory line, her thick accent coating her every word.

From what he could make out it sounded like Taki wasn't too fond of this particular section of Kuwana because of them being...poodly? He assumed it meant uppity which was a fair assessment given the looks of the place but it also being a far cry from the behaviors of the Okada surely had something to do with it. They were a clan of rough and tumble wrestling folk which sounded like the antithesis of a shinobi so coming across anyone who didn't enjoy a more hands on approach to things probably put them at odds; it was a miracle they didn't have issues with just about everyone. "I guess it is a little too prim and proper. I get wanting the area to look nice but not to the point where you're afraid to touch something out of fear of breaking it."

"Weird thing is that most of it tastes awful but makes you feel good... unless you drink too much then it makes you sick. Too much of a good thing I guess." Ouritsu would reply as the duo continued their stroll about the area. The chunin wasn't much of a drinker but had gotten a congratulatory drink from Akira after passing the exams and to this day hadn't completely figured out how people drank glass after glass of the stuff.

A small chuckle escaped the Nohime as he internally accepted Taki's name for him. It was better than not knowing his name at all, he supposed, and it'd be much more of a pain in the ass trying to get her to pronounce it correctly so it was best to let sleeping dogs lie."Looks like everything is pretty quiet over here, ready to hit the training area next?" Ouritsu would ask. Getting the least interesting areas out of the way first would leave them right in the middle of the good stuff once they finished, whether that was the market or arena he'd leave up to a vote but was fine with either.

"Right!?” the girl would say as they kept walkin. "Dey look like dey’d freak if dere was so much as a spec o dust on da ground.” to be fair Taki lived in a nice house as well but wasn’t as exuberant about the way it looked since most of their money went into their business, they lived well but they were still relatively modest people.

Oritsu would go on to describe the taste of alcohol and Taki would think on that statement for a moment. "Dat don’t make no sense…but dat’d explain why my parents drink it…” as she kept the idea in her mind she pondered why people would drink something that didn't taste good just to feel good, but before more could be said He’d ask if she was ready to head to the training area. "Yeah anything to get outta dis poodle ass place.”

The girl would then take it a glob of spit on the ground as they made their way out. With that the two of them would make their way out towards the training area near the entrance to the village wondering just who they might see there and was hoping that there was nothing out of the ordinary going on.

It was difficult to understand the reasonings behind why adults did they things they did, though it was not lost on the young Nohime that soon enough he would be thrown into that category as well. Would he just one day decide to throw logic and reason to the wind with strange life choices without so much as a second thought? He doubted it now but there were probably many others who had as well... But that was a conversation for another day as there was a job they had to hustle through now so they could get back to the festivities.

The path from the residential area to the training grounds was a well worn one especially in recent times as scores of genin and their handlers had been walking these roads in preparation for the start of the exams and as the pair neared the various sounds of ninja activities began to fill the air. The clanging of metal clashing against each other, jutsu of different types being loosed as well as just an overall buzz in the air.

"Probably been a while since the training grounds here have seen this much action." Ouritsu would muse with a chuckle. Kuwana was a pretty big tourist spot but hardly did it house this many shinobi at once so there weren't nearly as many training spots compared to the actual villages. "Hopefully people aren't fighting over the training areas, it'd be just our luck to have to prevent an international incident." The thought of playing peacemaker wasn't a fun one, much less Taki being thrust into the spotlight for such an occasion which would surely be the equivalent of throwing gasoline on a wildfire given her family's 'hands on' approach to things.

Onto their next locale, Taki and Ouiritsu would make their way towards the training grounds that were packed to the brim with Chunin Exam hopefully she’d look down leering at the section reserved for members of the Brimstone alliance between Kusagakure, Konohagakure and Sunagakure.

Ouritsu would note that people wouldn’t be fighting over training areas. "Heard dhese spots was segregated by alliance standings, didn’t want to have any unnecessary espionage goin on. Or did the captain not tell you dat.” she’d say looking back at the boy as they kept walking specifically keeping her eyes on the enemy territory.

"Dat in da back dere is for da Brimstone boys, Konoha, Kusagakure and Suna.” she’d remark, and would then point towards the front section. "Dat dere is da Bronze side, between Iwagakure, Yukigakure, Amegakure and Kirigakure.” they’d continue to walk past the place looking to make sure nothing was out of line.

"And trust me you don’t need to give me a reason to bust up those Konoha bastards, dere’s a reason I wear dat marker on my jacket.” If the boy had remembered from the last time that they’d seen each other when Taki was leading that summit a few months earlier her jacket had the Konoha symbol crossed out on her back and with good reason.

"Guess I missed that part. That's a good idea though, but I bet curiosity is gonna get the better of someone." Ouritsu would reply as he focused to the different spots Taki was pointing out. It was interesting to think about the villages that made up the different alliances and while they weren't necessarily even the size and locations made up for it. Being more or less next to your allied nations was a huge boon when it came to any kind of battles or war, and it had always pegged the boy as a little strange how far away some of Iwa's allies were.

"Brimstone alliance? Like... hell?" The boy asked with a raised brow. It was no secret that Iwa and Konoha were not on good terms at all, and Taki had definitely taken that to heart even going so far as to show her disapproval of the Leaf on her clothing, and call him crazy but Ouritsu had a feeling that the girl was hoping for someone to step out of line; preferably one who had a certain leafy headband on. As much as the Nohime loved a good dust up the entire purpose of their mission was to prevent any kind of incidents and it would have looked terrible if one had been started by the host nation. "I believe you, but just remember we're here to stop anything from popping off. Buuut if someone swings first you may just get your chance and not get in trouble for it."

Middle ground is what some people called it. He had to remind Taki that they were peacekeepers but allowing a bit of wiggle room would hopefully keep the girl in line long enough to get through this. "Get your shit and go! This spot is ours!" "Not a chance in hell, the map says this is our designated training area!" A couple voices could be hearing screaming through the area and they were none too pleasant. "Ah shit, I may have just jinxed us. Let's go see what the commotion is." Ouritsu spoke as he began to walk towards the source of the screaming, and lo and behold there were two groups standing opposite each other with scowls etched onto their faces. Half the headbands signaled the kids were from Konoha while the other half signaled Yuki and none were too pleased with the other.

Well this was exactly what the Nohime was hoping to avoid but it was what they were tasked to deal with should it occur. "How you want to handle it?" Perhaps a loaded question considering how obvious Taki's disdain for Konoha was but maybe, just maybe, she would put that aside long enough to handle things fairly and calmly.

As the girl explained what she’d been told Oiritsu would mention that he must’ve missed that part. "Perks of being a Jounin I guess.” the girl would say under her breath, being a little childish and rubbing it in, which was rather unbecoming a Jounin in of itself. Whilst the two of them kept talking he’d question the name brimstone. "I mean hey it kinda makes sense?” the girl would say with a shrug.

"At least on our side we call it bronze cause a awl da metal da nations have, cept for maybe Kirigakure–I just think dat maybe–” however before she could say much there seemed to be a commotion down the stairs and Taki would mosey her way on over taking a gander at the situation and being asked how she wanted to handle it by Oritsu. She'd take a look and notice that it would appear that both sides were slightly in the wrong,

"You sure you want me, dealing with dis one? If you say so.” she’d say with a raised brow as if to say; "You’re kidding right?” with a sigh however the girl would make her way over. "Settle down settle down, what seems to be da problem?” she’d say approaching both of them from a point of neutrality but keeping her guard up as she looked towards the Konoha kids. They would’ve more than likely gotten leers like this from a few of the other blonde haired orange cloth wearing Iwagakurians themselves and hers was no different but she did her best to try and hide for now.

"Perks of being a Jounin." Ouritsu would reply with a sly smile on his face. He had to default to her in every other matter so it only made sense that she take the lead on handling this matter. Of course, it was a terrible idea considering half of who was involved and Taki's very outward and not hidden at all hatred of Konoha so maybe he should have tried to take care of it, but it was a whole lot funnier this way... unless of course the woman caused an international incident then everybody was in trouble.

The woman's words would garner the attention of the six youth as they went wide eyed noticing the woman who had spoken at the opening ceremonies was now standing before them, and seeing the muscles up close and in person was slightly intimidating. "W-Well, this is our designated training spot and they're trying to push us out of it." One of the Konoha genin spoke prompting a Yuki kid to loudly scoff. "As if, look at the map you idiot! This section is for us. H-Hey miss, you're from an allied village, tell 'em that they're in the wrong spot and to get lost." The kid would ask of Taki hoping for a little homefield advantage. Even if they were wrong allied villages had to stick together and if one of the higher ups told those leaf brats they had to go then they'd have no choice but to listen, right?

Ouritsu would remain silent for the exchange as he awaited Taki's decision on the matter. Would she let her very well known bias influence her decision or would critical thinking and logic prevail? They were about to find out!

As the girl would speak it would seem that some of the boys recognized her accent one of them being from Konoha and seemingly being rather intimidated by her she’d shoot the kid a look to him hearing his side of the squabble stating that it was their designated training spot and that the Yukigakurians were trying to push them out of it, as she took note of thing she’d take note of something. "We’re on the east side of the arena…?” the girl would think to herself. "That means this is Konoha territory.” coming to this conclusion the girl would walk over in between the two. "Shit!” the girl would say under her breath slightly aggravated at the situation, she'd look between the two before turning to the Yukigakurians

"Look guys…Imma havta ask ya to leave this is Konoha territory and you guys can’t be here, so head on back.” she’d take the map out of one of the boys hands and turn it over on the back, her words were relaxed and calm befitting of the sage of the village. "Schedule changed we had to move Yuki’s spot to the opposite side, you guys must’ve gotten an out of date map.” the girl would say looking to the Yukigakurian kids before pointing behind herself as if gesturing for them to scram. "Head over to the east side.” she’d look over at the Konoha kids, having some words for them.

"And you two, next time call for help instead of gettin into a fight, if ya got a problem get a Jounin.” her words were delivered somewhat sternly a bit more than the calmer approach she gave to the two genin from her allied nation but not enough to seem like there was too much of a bias showing, however she would quickly turn her head back towards the Yuki kids giving them a wink as a way of letting them know she had their backs. Mouthing the words. "Knock em dead." before looking back at them. With that she'd walk off with the Oiritsu to continue the rest of their patrol she was capable of playing nice, for the most part.

Curious was an understatement regarding how Ouritsu was feeling about the situation. On one hand it would have been hilarious to see Taki completely disregard the facts and side with the bronze alliance or faction or whatever these villages were calling themselves purely out of spite for Konoha. However if the kids decided to escalate the situation and get their seniors involved and it was revealed that the woman had lied then a whole world of shit would have came falling down on them which the boy severely wanted to avoid. Still, for all the huff and puff she did it would be interesting to see if it still held up when it came time for official business... if you could count an argument between kids as official business.

As Taki began to explain how this side was indeed designated for Konoha and it's allied there were a wide array of emotions creeping their way across the faces of the various kids. Some were happy, some were sad, others smug while a few looked like they were downright ready to cry. Alas, Ouritsu would have to give the woman credit for how she handled things and whether it was truly due to an out of date map or not he couldn't say but there was a definite air of responsibility radiating from the bumpkin.

"Mhmm sounds about right. Now keep it pushin so we can get back to training." One of the Konoha kids would speak as he made a shooing motion with his hands. "Whatever, let's go guys." None too pleased but the Yuki's would gather their things and take their leave.

Of course she couldn't let the moment pass without a bit of a stern slighting towards the kids from Konoha but it could easily be construed as sagely advice, and where the Yuki kids were once sad the show of support from Taki brought a small smile to their faces as they walked off. "Well that went better than I expected." Ouritsu spoke with a bit of surprise in his voice. "Looks like we only have the markets and arena then we can call it a day."

As the kids would skedaddle the girl would place her hands on the back of her head as Oiritsu stated that the two of them still needed to check out the markers and the arena and then they could call it a day. "Wait a sec forreal? I don’t rememba you mentionin da arena bafore hand.” the girl would say as they made their way out of the training grounds. With that they’d head towards the market a place she and her family frequented fairly frequently this market kept the fridges in the Okada gym nice and full and she was happy to see pretty much everyone.

"Good afternoon every body!” the girl would say waving to the others with a bright smile, trying not to get particularly distracted by the friendly and familiar faces. Despite the Okada’s main base of operations being located in Iwagakure they have a special connection with the city of Kuwana since it’s where most of their shows takes place and their recently built gymnasium has brought them much closer to the city.

"You guys doing okay?” the girl woul day looking around at the people through the market, she looked a little out of place wearing a shinobi uniform something she was hardly ever seen in it felt a bit odd. "You look so professional.” one of the elderly women would say complimenting her attire. "I mean it ain't really my thing…but thanks.” the girl would say a little bashfully, the elderly in this time were always complimentary she thought it was nice but she didn't feel like herself in this getup.

"It was in the mission details. I guess they want us to make sure no one tries any funny stuff on the arena; even playing field and all that." The chunin responded wondering how exactly the woman had made Jounin if she was missing simple details in mission missives. Perhaps just being strong played a huge role in getting promoted and if that was the case Ouritsu would be a Jounin in no time. Besides, ending their patrol at the arena the boy thought would have been ideal in Taki's eyes.

As the two entered the market greetings began to flow in from nearly every direction with all the shop owners saying their hello's to the blonde. Ouritsu knew Taki had made a name for herself in Iwa but it was surprising to see how many people knew her out here. Could it have been because she was spearheading the exams and had gotten to know them over the last however long? Maybe but by the sound of the compliments there was definitely some history behind them. "How do you know all these people? If this were Iwa I'd get it but out here in Kuwana?" The Nohime would ask as the pair continued their trek through the markets. Everything looked fine so far which was a good sign but they couldn't rest on their laurels just yet.

Perhaps one day Ouritsu would be able to waltz around the village and have people recognize him so easily; there had been a little of that after his showing at the chunin exams for his performance but such notoriety had faded over the last few years. Besides, Iwa would probably do everything in its power to prevent another Nohime from gaining some notoriety, though Yoshiko making herself the exception to that rule with how strong she was.
