Day At The Market

Despite her somewhat cold appearance it wouldn't be out of line to say that Azarea had a soft spot for civilians. Their markets, their culture, their lives were a long term and quiet fascination of hers that had only grown after nearly six years of practically living as one bereft of her ability to use chakra. While now she had returned to her prior strength that fondness for their lives had never really faded and while Azarea might avoid Konohagakure like the plague the market days that cropped up drew her in like a moth to the flame. Her hive silently buzzing beneath her skin greedy and hungry for the array of fruits still available in Hi no Kuni's warm climate where they'd all, but ceased being available for anything other then a large paycheck in Kumo this time of year in anything other then jams or preserves. The red haired woman, her crimson mane practically a battle flag where it was strewn down her back made an odd sight as she weaved through the market crowds pausing with her basket by each fruit stall to help herself to little pallets of blueberries, strawberries, peaches, cherries, and blackberries. Sealing scrolls having opened a whole new world for her in terms of food storage as she hummed low beneath her breath scarlet eyes darting over the arrays of items ignoring the feel of the eyes that watched her from the crowd.

Unaware that one of those sets of eyes belonged to a boy with hair a few shades brighter then her own.

Born with a natural affinity towards sensing chakra like her Father before her Azarea has trained herself to become a capable sensory shinobi. Unlocking the Kagura's Mind's Eye, and with it, the ability to passively sense chakra signatures in the distance (when using the technique), thus allowing her to not only track, but also memorize a person's chakra signature, even if barely any chakra is being used. Due to her proficiency with this technique, Azarea can currently passively sense chakra up to 500 meters and actively at 2.5 kilometers.

Tsuna had decided to take a rather well needed break from training, given he had been doing it since he had woken up, the 13-year old looking a little bit roughed up from the amount he had pushed himself through in order to get better. He had wandered into the local markets within Konoha in order to get some snacks, drinks and to top up on some tools, his blue eyes glancing over toward the villagers that resided along with noticing a fair few people that were from other nations. He often forgot that many other nations would visit just for the market, but it made him smile seeing such a variety of people.

But soon, something caught his attention. Someone with red hair that was darker than his Mother's and his own which made him confused, he hadn't really seen many Uzumaki's about, the rush of meeting another potential Uzumaki clan member rushed through hi as he ran over towards the female only for him to come to a skidding stop at realizing it would be weird for him to just randomly be all up in her face.

Thus, Tsuna decided to play it cool and would make himself looking like he was browsing through the goods that the stall that they were now both at, his eye glancing at the many flavours of water that they had along some of the snacks. Which soon caused his stomach to let out a rather large groan since he had skipped breakfast this morning, the red haireds cheeks soon turned a light shade of pink at how loud his stomach had complained to him.

Peach

Genin were, honestly, sometimes rather adorable when they weren't being brats. Azarea thinks as the woman pretends to overlook the boy trying to sidle up to her at one of the stalls. Gamely ignoring the fact that she herself was still a genin as she eyes the fruit and snacks on sale reaching out to scoop up a peach when a loud growl interrupts her thoughts. The boys stomach snarling loud enough to be heard even over the dull roar of the market as scarlet eyes cut towards him taking in the appearance of bright red hair, an embarrassed face, and cheeks as pink as the Hi no Kuni peach currently resting in her palm. The boys appearance scuffed and dirty in that way that only came with long missions and training as his gear was too nice to be one of the numerous orphans in Konoha's military system. Passing a coin to the merchant to pay Azarea offered the peach out to the boy.

"It's not good to starve yourself while training Kid. You need calories to burn." She quips voice soft and a little smoky, but gentle with nostalgia from her own earlier days. The motion of offering the peach bringing the Kumogakure no Sato headband tied to her upper bicep into easy view. The metal glinting dully in the sun scuffed, but well cared for.

Deep blue eyes glanced up towards the female who was now offering a peach towards him, the clearly younger red-head moving to rub the back of his head as he chuckled lightly, even moreso towards her comment about not to starve. It honestly wasn't like he had meant to skip breakfast, it was moreso of a case that he had gotten so focused he had forgotten all about not having eaten.

Tsuna accepted the beach before giving her a smile and taking a bite out of it, soon turning towards the vendor and getting two bottles of water before offering one to the elder, clearly as a return for her having given him the peach. Taking a second bite out of the peach, even though he had scuffed himself up quite badly, his wounds had already been on the mend due to his heritage of the Uzumaki bloodline.

The woman accepts the gift only giving the vendor a slightly shifty glance and if she checks that it's still sealed before opening it and taking a small tentative sip well... she'd been burned before. The flavored water doesn't taste of poison, but few ever do though the chances of her former clan and her future clan getting a genin from an opposing clan involved seems unlikely. Probably. It's not paranoia if they are actually out to get you.

Taking the opportunity with the kids question to glance around the market Azarea couldn't quite help the slight twitch of a smile that warms her lips. It was easy to tell the civilians from the shinobi visitors amidst the crowds given one appeared to not care and the other faction avoided her like the plague. Though a few were currently eyeing Tsuna at a distance like the boy was crazy. "Yeah. I've always enjoyed a good market." Azrea answers honestly as she gestures to her basket that is filled with fruit and food. "It's always good to stock up on food. Yourself? Most genin don't know to hit up the civilian markets for better prices." She smirks, a trick many would learn the hard way when their coin purses wound up empty. Then again if you couldn't spot a deal the civilian markets could be just as brutal.

Tsuna tilted his head slightly as he caught the questioning glance that the female gave towards the Vendor as if the bottle of water was poisoned or something, he himself just opening it straight away and taking a few sips, listening towards the females reply towards his question he had posed to her.

"I'm not here to hit up the market for better prices, I just came to get some food and drink since I hadn't eaten" the red head paused, taking another bite out of the peach and swallowing it before he would continue talking "Annnndddd what makes you think I'm a Genin? I could be a Chuunin or Jonin or anything!" Tsu replied, giving a light chuckle, there were probably tell-tale signs that he was a Genin anyway.

He then glanced around the market, trying to figure out what more he could eat that would actually fill him up " You here JUST for Konoha's market? Or are you here to see your boyfriend or something?" Tsuna would ask as if it was no big deal.

Azarea drags her eyes first down, and then up the kid raking him with her gaze before arching her brow as if to ask if he's really asking her whether he's a genin or not. "Well for one you don't have a flak vest. Two your headband still looks close to new. Three most Chuunin are better at recon." She lists off her reasoning on her fingers, but decides against telling the kid that his coils don't show the development most chuunin tend to have from strenuous use.

"And no I'm not here just for the market's Kid," She jokes amused with his bluntness, "I'm here for work. Part of the Konoha/Kumo mission roster to encourage diplomatic relations." If she also happened to be here to see her boyfriend in addition to her main purpose well... that was for her to know and the little adorable brat not to find out.

"You'd be better off hitting up one of the kebab stands if you're that hungry. What's your name kid?" She inquires with an arch of brow. Introductions long overdue.

I live here" Tsuna retorted with a corner of his lip turning into a slight pouty frown as she started to list of the things that made it obvious that he was a Genin, his blue eyes glanced off towards the side --- Clearly somewhat offended that he was being called out like this. But what re-gained his attention was her talk of diplomatic relations with Kumo and Konaha which caused him to chuckle lightly "You here to see your partner or something then?" he questioned, clearly giving a child-ish reply towards her.

Upon being asked his name however he tilted his head a bit, he was in fact thinking of hitting up the kebab joint, but ramen or yakitori also sounded nice to him. He then smirked a bit "Uzumaki, Uzumaki Tsuna" he responded towards the questioning of his name before gesturing towards her "It's only polite for me to get yours" Tsu grinned, finishing off the peach and taking another swig of water.

"And most chuunin wouldn't joke about joint missions so another point in favor of you being a genin," She quips unphased by the childish taunt though she does give him a twitch of a smile her scarlet eyes bright with amusement. Clearly having spotted that she'd ruffled his pride a little with her blunt assessment. "And if you must know recon on your home turf is the most important. Falling into the fallacy that just because you are home you are safe gets a lot of shinobi killed before they ever reach the gates." Grim advise, but good advise all the same as the woman fished into her pocket pulling out what looked to be a cigarette and lit it with nary a spark. Sweet smoke spilling from it's tip as she blew out a small stream of it into the chill cool air.

"Azarea. No clan name." She introduces herself with a smirk and turns on her heel to stride off. Never glancing back to see if Tsuna was following her. Confident that the kids curiosity had already gotten the better of him as she made for one of the little road side curtained stands she knew had good teriyaki chicken kebabs. The Uzumaki wasn't the only one hungry and her hive buzzed low and silent beneath her skin calmed by the smoke, but hungry all the same and if she wanted to keep her purchases as more then just seed pits then she needed to find some food of her own.
