The growth of Kirigakure’s prosperity had attracted many scoundrels seeking ill-gotten fortunes. Foreign buccaneers and remnant fleets of expatriates from the civil war era were common sources of piracy. One could say that they were disturbing order, but not long ago the dog eat dog philosophy ran rampant in Mizu no Kuni. Perhaps the return of law's strength was a disruption to the natural order of things. All that could be for certain is that the two elements were destined to clash like waves against the shore.

The Wokou had gained notoriety beyond any other band of misfits in Mizu no Kuni. Rumored to be captained by Yuki Ichika, an A-Rank criminal in the bingo books who defected in 1019 in protest to the ascent of a Kaguya to the role of Mizukage. She gathered a number of defectors, though her crew mostly consisted of outsiders. This lone band of pirates was putting a major dent into the economy of trade routes between Mizu and Cha no Kuni. Only one ship sent to combat the pirates has ever returned. It was badly damaged, and the crew inside was filled with the corpses of the operations team and the supporting sailors. Slash marks from clawed weapons and swords, frostbite, and drowning were the most common causes of death reported by the medical crew.

It became clear that this bastion of lawlessness could threaten Kirigakure’s existence if it was allowed to fester. Constant success could only draw more defectors and mercenaries to the Wokou. Now, the most important figure in the village and one of his famed swordsmen of the mist were en route to see to the matter personally.

They were on a floating fortress of exquisite design known as the Bitan. It had three lower decks and a small house sized cabin which was used to accommodate the Mizukage and his entourage. There were deckhands manning every station under the watchful command of a captain under the most stress of her life, and several genin trained in katon techniques stood at window slits ready to launch fireballs at incoming vessels. More in the bottom deck helped to propel the ship forward with suiton.

"Five kilometers out!” a deckhand called out, followed by a whistle.

The island itself was still barely visible in the downpour of rain that rocked the Bitan. Jaggad pillars of rock jutted from the ocean floor creating an island built on a slant with wooden watchtowers adorning it. There were a number of small sailing ships on the far end of the rock, although the Bitan’s current approach would take it through a shoal. The captain had already taken the rocks into account and was beginning to veer the ship so that they could approach from the most inviting end, where the enemy's four vessels were floating safely.

The swordsman Zaizen, if he used the opportunity to push his sensory abilities out to his active range, would be able to pick up a number of chakra signatures. Six total were refined enough to be shinobi of varying degrees of talent, while about thirty more of the inhabitants had insignificant chakra levels. Of note, there were three signatures in the water itself, about three hundred meters from the distant island. With some time spent focusing on it, he would be able to determine that they never did come up for air.

Toru was approached by the captain of the vessel. She was a middle-aged woman with a stern face and graying brown hair. She kneeled before him. "Forgive me for disturbing you, my lord. We draw nearer to the island. I can see the break of the clouds in the distance, and if we delay til sunset the rains should subside. Shall we push ahead or wait for the sea to grow gentle?”

It was quite a strange feeling to be undertaking such an important mission like this as a lot was riding on its success and to be asked by the Mizukage of all people for Zaizen to go with him seemed to him like a dream considering the relationship between the two wasn't great to begin with. Zaizen could hardly refuse a request from the Mizukage as it would likely put even more pressure on the man. At the same time, Zaizen had to make sure that nothing happened to the Mizukage as fingers would likely be pointed at him otherwise. Having agreed to go with the Mizukage Zaizen had gathered up all his equipment and had been ready to go. He was dressed in normal attire and his face was covered with his mask-like helmet. He met with the Mizukage on a ship that had been prepared for the journey to the island.

Zaizen remembered reading the report from the medical team that had been given out from the last ship that had been sent. Zaizen remembered the report detailing the damage to the hull, all of the dead crew member's deaths had been by drowning. The damage to the hull came in the form of claw marks likely from claws, there were also sword damage and even the mention of frostbite. Zaizen's first reaction to reading the report would be a Yuki being involved, but it could have also been from the sea.

Now on the floating fortress ship called the Bitan it was quite an impressive ship with its design and size, but that didn't seem to stop it from performing its duties as needed. Zaizen was currently next to the Mizukage in his private cabin-like house that was built into the ship itself. He currently had his eyes closed standing up. While to people looking at Zaizen in the cabin wouldn't really be able to tell he had his eyes closed unless they were really looking hard at him as his eyes were covered by his mask-like helmet. Zaizen had his eyes closed as he was concentrating on scouting with his sensory abilities. He had been like this for a lot of the journey as he didn't want any surprises.

Zaizen would hear a whistle on the ship following a call out by a deckhand that they were within 5km of the island. Now that his sensory was in the range of the island he made sure to focus on the island to see if he could pick anything up. It didn't take Zaizen long to pick up 6 chakra signatures there were 3 on the island they were definitely shinobi, then there were three signatures in the water itself, about three hundred meters from the distant island. Concentrating on them he knew they were not coming up for air. It could be shinobi using breathing equipment, but it could also be summons of some kind it was worth taking note of them as Zaizen would be able to keep an eye on them if they decided to move.

The captain of the ship entered the cabin and came before the Mizukage, the startling nose caused Zaizen to lose concentration as he opened his eyes once more and listened to what the captain had to say to the Mizukage, the middle-aged woman seemed to be in a panic of sorts, but who could blame her considering how important the mission was. The suggestion from the captain were different things they could do to approach the island. While the decision was up to the Mizukage as he was in charge of the mission the cover of rain could be used to their advantage, while the trouble of navigating the sea could prove to be a challenge, the element of surprise could be used. As Zaizen allowed the woman to finish speaking he would turn to face the Mizukage, giving a slight bow in his direction before returning upright. " My Lord Mizukage, I have been scouting the Island with my sensory skills and I have picked up on six chakra signatures, there are three on the island which are definitely shinobi, there is also a further three chakra signatures in the water about three hundred meters from the distant island, I am not able to tell if these are shinobi or summons. They could be shinobi using breathing equipment, but have determined they have not come up for air at all which suggests they could be summons, but not 100 percent sure. I will continue to track their movements in case they decide to move at all. " After speaking Zaizen moved to the side once again returning to his original position at the side of the Mizukage. The focused his sensory abilities again to keep an eye on the chakra signatures.

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him increase his evasion rate.

The reports that had come to Toru's desk - that had ultimately led him to deciding to take this mission on - were concerning. Claw marks could have meant anything, though he had a feeling that the Ama were somehow involved. Perhaps Waruichi if a claw like weapon was made from their fabrics. Swords were nothing new, and frostbite was almost certainly the doing of a Yuki clan member, though it was hard to determine if the clan member was one from Kirigakure or Yukigakure. This was a detail left in the dark for now.

Drowning also pointed to Ama due to their intrinsic nature of being underwater, they were practically sirens. It had taken a little while to travel where they were going and a storm had been rocking the ship for quite sometime. Fortunately due to its size it had been quite difficult to tip it over or throw most anyone overboard. Toru, was quite comfortably situated in one of the nicer cabins, drinking tea and reading a book. A strange activity considering he was on a mission but it was a way to quiet his mind, and focus himself. There was no sense in being constantly on alert until they were where they needed to be.

A call was made they were not far from the island now. Toru shut his book then and glanced up towards the door from his tea.

The door shifted open and there was the captain, a woman with a stern face and graying hair. Toru motioned for her to rise, he found it uncomfortable when people knelt before him in such a way. It was unnecessary and time consuming especially in these kinds of situations. He mumbled to her a quiet question, and received an equally quiet answer before he nodded.

"Let us push ahead, no sense in delaying the inevitable if no lives are stake."

There was a pause, and soon thereafter Zaizen spoke facing towards Toru. Toru's expression was steadfast and never faltered, he was listening to Zaizen carefully.

Three on the island, three underwater. His suspicions were becoming a bit more solidified though there was a chance that he could be wrong - the claw marks, drowning, people underwater... It really was pointing towards the Ama clan.

"If they move towards the ship let me know, immediately, Zaizen-san." Toru mentioned briefly moving now towards the door. "I will be on the deck."

It would be harder to smell anything with the rain covering so much, but the closer they got the higher the chances would be that Toru would be able to get his own version of sensory to work - as a scent hound. For now though they had to wait, and Toru's hand was against his most notable sword, tapping gently against the hilt. He had not yet been able use it in battle, this would be a good opportunity to do so - and he was almost anxious to do so. There was so much anticipation and so much riding on a mission such as this.

The village would thrive, he would be certain of it.

Dance of the Demons

At one kilometer out, the island was much more visible. Individuals could be seen moving about the platforms that jutted out from jagged rock. The three ships at dock were simple long ships with a single mast that seemed to be unmanned at the moment, save for some buccaneers unloading cargo from one of them.

That all changed when a certain barrel chested lookout atop one of the uppermost platforms peered out into the ocean, noticing something something in the distance. He pulled down a pair of scopes over his eyes, trying to magnify his visual, but it was too far away. Still, he knew his eyes did not deceive him that an unknown ship was heading towards them.

With a mad grin on his face, he started forming three hand seals. He then cupped his hands and began shouting through an amplified voice. With Toru’s advanced hearing, the Mizukage was able to make out that he was alerting the pirates of the incoming ship.

This was followed by another set of three hand seals, and then the spitting of a large spout of black oil that mixed with the rain water and landed on the rocky beach far below their shack. Two others rushed towards the rocky beach, each of them were the others who bore chakra signatures. One was a one-eyed man wearing a bandana and a naval jacket, the other was a shirtless figure with unhealthy looking yellow green skin. They arrived near the location of the oil rain although what they were doing remained yet to be seen.

A bunch of pirates began running towards the long ships and boarding up. None of them bore a large chakra signature, but they were all armed to the teeth. They started disembarking to push towards their mark.

Meanwhile, the figures in the water began to break their patrol pattern. One of the signatures, in fact, started to shift wildly like it exploded outwards before solidifying into a much larger form. From seven-hundred meters away it began to charge towards the ship, with the other two signatures seemingly catching a ride on it.

The only thing that could be seen with plain eyes themselves was a large shadow in the water and churning tides.

The sounds of whistling and scrambling could be heard on every deck of the ship as the naval forces prepared for a battle. The ship itself already slanted too and fro in the waves, making it difficult for the deck hands to reach the harpoons.

Zaizen continued to have his eyes closed as the ship pushed forward in the rain he concentrated still using his sensory to keep an eye on the six chakra signatures he had sensed before, now that the ship was within a 1km range Zaizen no longer needed to concentrate as anything within this range was passive to him naturally. Now that Zaizen was this close he had picked up on movements of the chakra signatures he could sense so not wanting to waste time, he moved from the cabin in order to join the Mizukage on the deck of the ship though the ship was uneasy because of the flow of the current making navigation and movement on the deck much harder, Zaizen had been through a lot worse as he stabled his footing and moved towards the Mizukage. Not bothering with pleasantries as this wasn't the time for it Zaizen would simply tell the Mizukage of what he had picked up on.

"There are movements of the chakra signatures, two of the chakra signatures are headed towards an open area. Also, the three chakra signatures in the water have started to move as well they seem very close together like they are within touching distance of one another and it's heading towards us at speed. " After Zaizen had finished speaking he pointed to the area from the deck in which the chakra signatures in the water were approaching, the outline of shadows in the water showing it. "There the shadows in the water Mizukage." Then quickly shifting direction with his hand Zaizen pointed towards the Island pointing towards the beach area. " The other two chakra signatures moved towards that area which looks like a beach. The final one is higher up on the Island." Zaizen wasn't sure about the plan of action at the moment but he was likely better suited to heading toward the Island as his skills were more beneficial there. " I'm gonna head for the Island Mizukage, that way I can intercept the two signatures on the beach." Gave a quick bow to the Mizukage before Zaizen would start to dash toward the edge of the ship as he did he felt chakra covering the soles of his feet this would allow him to move on the ocean before him while it was rough waters, Zaizen was highly experienced so the water would likely prove to be not much of a problem for him. Having landed on the water he began to run towards the Island. First, Zaizen needed to cover his approach to the Island, while it was raining it provided some cover but not enough so forming four hand signs. " Kōdona Kirigakure no Jutsu" After speaking a thick mist would start to form around them as Zaizen started to run towards the Island. The mist would form in front of Zaizen covering his tracks to the Island. Zaizen for extra measure pulsed chakra towards his legs giving him the ability to reach max speed with no issue at all. Zaizen was covered by the tracks of the mist forming around him. It would also cover the ship from view as well whilst covering the ships sight was probably not the best idea at least it can't be targeted by attacks from the Island. Having remembered looking at the beach, when showing the Mizukage from before Zaizen remembered some strange-looking black liquid covering the beach area which looked like to be rain of some kind, Zaizen could only assume the black rain was oil as nothing else made sense, it would also be a trap if Zaizen continued right in the direction so forming another hand sign now that Zaizen was within reach of the beach he would start so slow down. "Kirisame" After speaking the black rain on the beach would be disturbed by Zaizen's mist rain, the mist now covering the Island, plus the mist rain would likely make the black rain so diluted that potential attacks would be useless now, plus mist rain helped with this potential issue also. Now clear to engage, Zaizen could sense the two chakra Signatures on the beach. His silent killing abilities would help him greatly here.

Zaizen would land on the rocky beach. He first pulled out two kunai and two explosive tags. He quickly set them up so they were attached to the Kunai. Then moving across the beach making sure not to stay in one place as he threw the tags with the Kunai attached at the two chakra signatures he could sense in the mist and rain. With the signal of his hand, he detonated the explosive tags as they reached the two chakra signatures. Hopefully, this would be enough for a first strike against them as he was covered on approach to the Island masking his movements with the mist, and then would neutralize the black rain with his own mist rain.

[God-Like Chakra Control Prowess]

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

[Prodigious Speed]

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. It isn't an understatement to say he is one of, if not, the fastest Kirigakure shinobi of his generation. While most focus on training speed & strength to an certain degree, he excelled in training his speed and stamina. Capable of traveling long distances in little time without breaks. This movements translates to his maneuverability as well. The speed at which he punches, kicks, dodges, flips, and dashes are what his entire physical conditioning is about - reaching optimal speed in every aspect of combat. Due to his speed, he was dubbed: [Mist's Bullet].

[Silent Killing Mastery]

Steps hold no sound, breath holds no sound, existence can disappear at will. That which makes us shinobi is the fact that a majority of their task takes place in the shadows, and Zaizen has refined and perfected the craft of stealth, lurking within the shadows, hiding one's presence, and covering one's tracks. He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. He kills at such a speed and moves with no evidence of his existence that one never knows they were killed until he's behind them with a blade in their heart. Even while in actual direct combat, if he's not in view, his presence is impossible to detect via sound no matter how skilled.

A slightly more advanced version of the Tree Climbing Skill, this technique allows a shinobi to walk on water as if it were a solid surface. What makes this so difficult is a very precise amount of chakra ust be applied, as balance is harder to maintain on a not so tangible and even moving surface.

This technique is identical to the original hidden mist jutsu in every way, it covers a large area in a thick fog that makes visibility extremely low, however, instead of simply creating and dispersing a fog all around the user coats the fog in their chakra making it denser for some dojutsu. While the Byakugan will still be able to see through it, because this version of fog is created with the user's chakra, Sharingan-users will only see the fog muddled with the users chakra, completely hiding the user from the Sharingan.

DESCRIPTION:
Using the the mist jutsu as a base the user of this jutsu will disperse a mist like rain into a specific area, the mist like rain is not as thick as regular mist and can be seen through by those with above average visual ability. However this jutsu is not meant to impair vision as it is made to disrupt chara of those within the jutsu's influence this makes it harder for any chakra that is not the same as the users chakra signature to become weakened once it has become exposed. This causes jutsu to fail unless the user uses much more chakra then they usually do in order to counteract the disruption (making jutsu that have a Low chakra usage cost require a medium chakra usage cost in order to succeed). Also because the jutsu is mist and rain as well as the fact that it disrupts chakra fire jutsu does not work while this jutsu is active. Also attempting to successfully use a jutsu that already has a Very High chakra cost could be very dangerous and potentially fatal.

Toru turned to address Zaizen as he came to him and pointed out the shadows in the water. They were Ama, there was no other way. There was also the distinct scent of oil in the air now, which gave the impression that they needed to exercise great caution in their approach.

"Captain!" He called out through the din of the storm and rain. "Stabilize the ship, use caution when using Katon." Or else the oil might ignite and Toru would rather not surface to a destroyed ship and crew. For now though, that was the last of his orders before he quite literally would fling himself overboard.

The Ama could do huge damage to the underwater bits of wood and steel to the ship if they hit it head on, he was going to stop them now so he plummeted into the chaotic and dark depths towards the approaching shadows. His sword - Sango no Kyōi - drawn and ready to be utilized. He couldn't breathe yet, but he was going to give it a little bit before he showed that he was very capable of breathing underwater.

It was best to underplay one's abilities at first, and he knew he could take a hit if it came to it. So there he was, suspended in the turbulent waters, keeping himself as steady as possible within.

If nothing came after a certain amount of time though he would rise up above the waves to check on what was going on, it would be suspicious to Toru if nobody came after he saw those shadows moving towards the ship at high speed.

Dance of the Demons

While Zaizen was known for his speed, he was not uncontested when he zoomed out onto the waters. There were three enemies between him and his goal, and unknown to him was that one of them was a sensor shinobi. Detaching from the charging sea beast, the pale skinned Ama with white hair watched the shinobi above her with her mind’s eye, as well as her own, as mist began to envelope the world above.

The water itself was mostly unaffected by the mist, given that she could see the ripples of footsteps on the water above. The mist could not permeate through the ocean. Zaizen was about four hundred meters out from the island by the time this occurred.

Forming five hand seals on his approach, a violent vortex of water would begin to pull at the surface of the water. It was the great exploding current technique, which would suck anything above down into the depths below where the Ama was dwelling. The swordsman would need to react quickly or find himself deep underwater.

The crew at the island saw the distant mist forming. "It’s too far for the scopes to see through!” the man in the watchtower yelled to the crew below. They seemed to be distraught about it, because whatever they had planned was canceled merely by the obstruction of sight.

Toru would see the shadow beginning to emerge from the water. A crimson haired Ama was riding on the head of a gigantic dogfish that was about ten meters long. The big fish jumped out of the water about twenty meters from Toru, and the red haired daughter would leap off into the air towards the ship while the dogfish arced down towards Toru with its mouth agape.

It seemed as if she intended to swallow the Mizukage whole!— but Toru had bidded his time and focus, so he was deffinitly not caught off guard.

Hey, I know that I cut off a lot of your post Jian. The reason being is that there were enemies between Zaizen and his objective, and the later part of your post took their agency to react to his movement/hidden mist jutsu. One of the Ama was a sensor, I stopped you around the time they would have come to challenge Zaizen. Hidden mist jutsu has foiled the guys on the island for now, because they needed to be able to see in order to do their combo attack- I believe this was the most fair place to cut it off so that you would still make a huge impact on the thread with your post.

In general, please limit the amount of actions you take in a single round. I want a clean back and fourth and not a laundry list of contingencies. If I feel that the NPCs have time to react in a way that may conflict with your writing I will cut big stacks of actions off where it makes the most sense.

Zaizen's movements toward the Island as he moved as speed towards it would seem to be tracked by one of the three chakra signatures he had sensed under the water. while he didn't know the one coming towards him under the water was a sensor as well likewise could be said of Zaizen she wouldn't know that Zaizen would be able to sense her approach from under the water with that information from Zaizen he would be able to adjust his movements on the water to evade the jutsu she had tried to use on him. Zaizen had sensed the Ama approaching so had plenty of time to adjust his movements on the water doing so gave him more than enough time as he managed to avoid the vortex with ease. Something like that wasn't gonna bother Zaizen, not when he could see her coming in the first place, though the same could be said for Ama if she was able to sense him, which seemed to be the case as he was above water then this was the logical case. While he could potentially use something against Ama doing so in the open sea seemed like a wasted chance and he had no guarantee of success so decided for now to try and avoid her for now. With the vortex evaded Ama would now be behind Zaizen as he moved forward toward the island.

He was using his sensing abilities to keep track of the Ama behind him though the small hills of the waves before him would make getting to the Island a little harder, but to someone like Zaizen this would be not so bad. The chakra signatures of those on the Island had not changed so for now just the one behind him to keep an eye on, plus the mist would still be covering Zaizen's approach towards the Island. If she wanted to keep going after Zaizen that would draw her away from Toru meaning he would have less to deal with for the short term. Maybe if Zaizen could get her to follow him to the Island then there was a chance he could get the three of them together. Only time will tell for now he had to be cautious, but for a man like Zaizen this had come naturally to him his whole life.

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him increase his evasion rate.

[God-Like Chakra Control Prowess]

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. Steps hold no sound, breath holds no sound, existence can disappear at will. That which makes us shinobi is the fact that a majority of their task takes place in the shadows, and Zaizen has refined and perfected the craft of stealth, lurking within the shadows, hiding one's presence, and covering one's tracks. He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. Using the the mist jutsu as a base the user of this jutsu will disperse a mist like rain into a specific area, the mist like rain is not as thick as regular mist and can be seen through by those with above average visual ability. However this jutsu is not meant to impair vision as it is made to disrupt chara of those within the jutsu's influence this makes it harder for any chakra that is not the same as the users chakra signature to become weakened once it has become exposed. This causes jutsu to fail unless the user uses much more chakra then they usually do in order to counteract the disruption (making jutsu that have a Low chakra usage cost require a medium chakra usage cost in order to succeed). Also because the jutsu is mist and rain as well as the fact that it disrupts chakra fire jutsu does not work while this jutsu is active. Also attempting to successfully use a jutsu that already has a Very High chakra cost could be very dangerous and potentially fatal.

Toru got a visual pretty quick disturbing the mist that had been summoned. Well more like barreling through the mist. The maw was open it would not take a detective nor a genius to see that the beast was attempting to swallow him. In the mean time it seemed simultaneously the other who had been seated atop the beast was jumping towards the ship putting her in a fairly vulnerable position.

Toru felt that he would not have been a very good snack, regardless of his size, simply due to his texture. Actually just chewing him or digesting him would cause a body to breakdown. Not that he would allow for such a thing to occur it was more the merit of attempting it.

The Mizukage would solve the problem jointly - a hot searing chakra shroud would cover his body as he summoned forth Isobu's power. The steam that this created around him was immense but did not quite stop him from seeing as he used water walking to meet the gaping maw with the sharp end of his sword intending to slice the beast in half using its speed against it at the least moment.

In the meantime, a tail of his would shoot into the air forming into a hand to grab at the flying Ama, the hand would unlikely feel good - being that it was made of boiling chakra - wrapping around her and any attempts to dodge would be met with the arm moving itself in almost any way possible to grab the girl and slam her viciously into the dark depths of the water. It was not deadly as much as it was likely disorienting and a means by which to stop the girl from reaching the ship.

When a Tailed Beast or Jinchuuriki taps reaches into their Version 1 Chakra Cloak, they are capable of using the bubbling chakra which surrounds them as an extension of their body. These chakra appendages can be freely manipulated for almost an infinite distance as a result of its lack of joints. Additionally, they can surge at opponents at speeds that even the most highly trained of shinobi would have trouble reacting to. These appendages can grow in size and form, but only those who have control of at least half of their form (starting at Version 2 Chakra Cloak) can create any number of chakra arms they desire from any part of their body. Just like the original chakra arms, these extra arms can be used as grappling hooks, for grabbing opponents/objects, defense, or offensively. Unlike the original arms, these chakra arms are much thicker, and darker as a result of Version 2's advanced nature. For those who have minimal control, all chakra arms will always cause burns to those who contact them. (can be made cool for those with good amount of control). In the case of the Ichibi Jinchuuriki, these chakra arms will be in the form of sand.

『Masterful Kenjutsu』

Toru had a great deal of knowledge when it comes to weaponry, but his love lies in swords. As a jounin, his skill and movement with almost any blade are that of a seasoned master or prodigy. The sword is just an extension of his body and who he is. When a blade is in his hands he strikes his enemies down quickly and doesn't seem to hesitate when he does so. The form of his body is that of someone who has trained in the art for quite some time, and it is no surprise when he is able to go toe-to-toe with elite jounin with seemingly little issue.

『Tornado Speed』

Toru uses his lithe frame to move around quickly and his training with kenjutsu combined with his desire to be faster has brought to the point that he is at today. In top physical form, he is much faster than not only the average jounin but can parallel the speeds of elite jounin going at their very quickest. As a bukijutsu specialist, few can match his speed, although a few jounin that are trained in speed can keep up.

『Demon Reflex』

Toru has impeccable control over his body and muscles, to the point that he appears as if he might be dancing around his opponents with mockery. Not only quick on his feet, but he also seems to have the reflexes to go along with his speed. It takes a similarly lithe and feline-like opponent to land a proper hit on the small boy. An elite jounin with similar speed and reflexes - and proper training - can tire Toru out properly enough to do so, or perhaps a jounin although it may take longer - as long as they have this same training. Toru is a slimy opponent and is difficult to pin down.

『Sanbi Jinchuuriki』

Toru is the host of Isobu the Sanbi and is thus gifted with a series of powers. His chakra pool, in its default state is already quite abnormally large, it has now exponentially increased outmatching if not totally dwarfing the majority of shinobi, in truth only rivaled by other jinchuuriki. Alongside this, he also is granted passive access to different abilities - manipulating coral and coral techniques, in which the coral is harder and more resilient than naturally occurring coral being one of said abilities. Though the most outwardly noticeable trait, is that Toru seems impervious to certain levels of attacks. This is due to a substantial boost to his durability, his skin now being coated in a thin layer of diamond-like durability making him capable of minimizing damage from various jutsu and weaponry as well as stopping attacks that are weaker than him almost entirely.

Later stages of Sanbi he is also granted access to shell techniques, and his durability grows with each stage of influence he has over the beast. Toru also has access to special powerful Suiton when in any of the shrouds.

『Scent Hound』

Taking inspiration from his wolf familiar, Toru has developed a keen sense of smell. This sense allows him to easily determine where someone is due to a unique scent profile, and he is able to perform tracking duties by only needing to pick up a trail. This ability allows him to continue 'seeing' when he cannot actually see or hear - 400m passively. Focusing chakra to his nose he can enhance the radius of scent picking up to a formidable 2km, though the scent locations are less precise at this distance. The one downfall to this ability is overly intense foul smells that are closer to Toru may become overwhelming to a generally debilitating degree where only plugging the nose will help alleviate the incoming need to vomit.

Dance of the Demons

As Zaizen approached, the figure atop the tower was able to see him thanks to the lenses he wore over his eyes, which were capable of seeing through mist up to five hundred meters out. He didn’t notice the fast moving elite jounin until he was two hundred meters from the beach, however.

"Two hundred meters, forty two degrees. Dead ahead!” the goggled man yelled.

"Lighting!” the green skinned man yelled. He formed three hand seals and then blindly spit small balls of fire ahead of him. There was an intense glow of orange that permeated the mist ahead of Zaizen as the puddles made from oil rain ignited the ground.

"Out!” the one eyed man yelled. He made five hand seals at the same time that the previous man made three, working together like clockwork. He slammed his hands on the ground, and five boulders launched forwards into the water towards Zaizen.

The boulders were coated with burning oil and they would reach Zaizen’s general vicinity. A direct hit could mean that the high velocity rocks could cause major damage. It appeared that this tactic was meant to be used against ships, and that the three men were an artillery crew of sorts. However, even if it did not land a direct hit on Zaizen, he had to worry about the oil fires that were left behind: as the boulders hit the water the lighter density oil would stick to the top and continue burning. To Toru, there would be the signs of fire on the water glowing through the mist.

Beneath him, the white haired Ama scowled and began forming hand seals. After completing a total of ten, a tidal wave of water would rise up beneath the ocean and the appearance of numerous sharks within the water made from suiton would appear.

These things happened simultaneously, because she was not coordinating with the ground crew. If Zaizen was clever he might be able to use the wave to avoid the lit rocks, but the flow of fiery oil waves would be real regardless, and those would be difficult to maneuver against as the tidal wave threatened to send him flying into the rocky shore. A happy little accident.

Meanwhile, the speeding fish monster saw the gleam of the blade and tried to divert, but its own momentum was turned against it. Canting slightly, she was not quite cut in half but the mizukage’s blade ripped through the left side of its head, rending flesh and bone from its mouth and eye, filling the water around him with blood. Terribly wounded, the behemoth would try to plunge down deep to get away from him.

The woman in the air finished her hand seals, and was holding a billowing miasma of purple smoke in her mouth when she felt a burning sensation yanking her from the air before she could unleash it on the ship. As she exhaled a scream, the mists of doku giri plumbed from her mouth in a mushroom shape as she was torn towards the depths. The poison cloud didn’t reach the destination, but it did linger over the waters above Toru now.

She was disoriented and panicking. She could taste blood in the water. The only thing she could think to do was form a single seal and flicker down deeper in hopes of getting away.

She finished moulding doku giri but got grabbed and pulled down before she could expel it, so the ship was marked safe from the cloud. The waters above Toru are now tainted by the poison cloud, though because of rain and wind it will disperse in just a rotation or two.

Zaizen had avoided the vortex created by the Ama from before but could still sense her following him from behind but managed to keep ahead of her as he ran against the waves of the sea while they were up and down at points it was manageable. Zaizen was about 200 meters out from the Island now as he continued to run towards it. A lot of sound was coming in front of him, it sounded like someone had shouted something, but couldn't really make out what was been said. The three other chakra signatures had also been moving ever so slightly ahead of him. Something seemed to be wrong then in the mist ahead of him he could see gleaming outlines of fire through the mist. Then rumbling had also been happening behind him as the waves would start to form into a slightly bigger waves, but this wave had various water-created sharks created within it and they were headed towards Zaizen from behind. Not wanting to get caught in the middle of the two attacks coming from the front and behind Zaizen would hold a single-hand sign then speak. "Shunshin no Jutsu" After speaking he could feel the chakra rushing through his body while he was still running towards the Island in front of him, then using some of the covers of the mist would make Zaizen disappear from sight as his natural speed would be mixed with Shunshin no Jutsu pushing him beyond his normal limits. The Shunshin no Jutsu would be enough to push Zaizen in front of the attacks that had been coming from behind and in front of him.

Zaizen thanks to Shunshin no Jutsu had been pushed toward the Island beach as he arrived just before its shores as he released the hand sign he could clearly feel the chakra signatures in front of him. Zaizen had created some distance between him because of the Shunshin no Jutsu he had used. It had been around 150 meters or so. Now on the Island giving it a quick glance with his eyes he could see small what seemed to be fires they didn't seem to be causing any trouble so would be avoidable. Next Zaizen would form five hand signs. "Suiton: Kirigakure no Jutsu" After speaking using the thick mist around him as a medium his body would start to turn like vapor effectively making Zaizen invisible in the mist. Then after doing so, he would dash forward toward the enemy on the beach sensing them with his sensory, till he got within 6 meters or so from them before forming 3 more hand signs after releasing the tiger seal Zaizen would then slam his hands on the ground and sends their chakra outwards in a 12m Radius in all directions. Anything touching the ground will first be stapled to the ground, incapable of lifting or moving anything that had been in contact with the immediate ground this would only get worse as time went on, but likely would not get that far as Zaizen formed another seven hand signs. "Katon: Karyuu Endan" After speaking Zaizen would start to split out fire from his mouth as he did so it would start to form into a long-shaped dragon as it went forward towards the two chakra signatures he had sensed before. As it did it would split itself into three other dragons as he sent them flying towards the two enemies from different direction hoping for a direct hit, as they shouldn't be able to move, Zaizen was hoping his Fukyū Kousoku no Jutsu had worked more than likely it would have caught his targets as they wouldn't be able to see Zaizen at all.

Anything touching the ground will be first be stapled to the ground, incapable of lifting or moving anything that had been in contact with the immediate ground. After a post rotation, the chakra will begin to crawl on any object that had been captured and inducing full body paralysis, temporarily stunning all body movement, be it animal or human. The epicenter is completely clear of being affected, which translates to the immediate reach of the user.

The paralysis can last for up to two post. Pure physical strength can resist, but will be subjugated regardless. This technique was designed to restrict the movements of large group, effectively acting as crowd control. There is, however, a way to escape the technique. albeit only Yūgure Members know. By establishing "walking on water" technique, the chakra will simply pass through one's feet - leaving them unaffected. The way the fish had moved was a bit of a wrench in Toru's plans of bisecting it, but he had gotten a solid hit in. Furthermore he had successfully stopped the other Ama's approach to the ship leaving the poison fog to linger in the air, hopefully to clear up. There was blood everywhere, a terrible amount of it. The dark water was almost crimson had it been brighter it might have been. He felt the flicker from his tail, mostly because there was no longer anything to grab so the hand turned into a regular tail. With that glint of annoyance in his red eyes Toru dipped under the water, there was not a lot to see...

Except the trail of blood, he started to swim into the depths after the big one, in hopes of finding both. Another might have been terrified, but Toru was not, he kept swimming down. Daringly so. His job was not done until these two assailants were put down, then he could help Zaizen on the shore. For now it would be a sorely poor conduct of him to leave the stationary ship to fend for itself against two water tyrants.

That would not have been something a Mizukage did, they needed to be safe first everything else could wait.

Dance of the Demons

Zaizen was followed by the raging oil fire wave, getting just in front of it as it crashed against the store. The beach at his back was now enveloped in fire, but he went unscathed. For the Ama pursuer though, this proved to be an obstacle that she couldn’t easily find a way around. Worse yet, she could feel her sister’s chakra waning. She turned and jettisoned herself through the water to come to their rescue.

The figures on the beach were blinded well by the mist technique, and they found themselves unable to react in time for the fires of Karyuu Endan. Both of them let out cries of pain as they were burned.

Witnessing from above thanks to his goggles that cut through the haze of the mist, the lookout made three hand seals and spat it out to the grounds beneath his tower. The technique wasn’t aggressive, it just drenched the beach with water.

The groans of the affected men could be heard. They started drawing blades and trying to move forward, but the badly injured men found themselves unable to move. What was worse is that the feeling of paralysis was starting to creep up on their bodies.

There was just one other thing that Zaizen would notice. He could see what was lying in wait on the opposite side of the island now, about three kilometers away and fast approaching, was another ship making its way towards the shore. Much bigger than the long ships that the buccaneers lost out in the misty water had, with two masts unfurled with black sails.

Meanwhile, Toru’s descent after the fast swimming fish was underway. The blood cloud was an obvious give away to their path, though the Ama were perhaps more adept at swimming. He would find them. The girl who had jumped from the behemoth was hastily taking patches of seaweed and using chakra to bind it in an attempt to stop the bleeding.

The ocean was coming to life all around them, beckoned by the scent of blood. Toru would witness several species of shark making their way toward the carnage. Many were reef sharks, but the big stand outs were three tiger sharks. One coming from the north, another from the south, and the last from the west. While they were not shinobi, the dangerous trio could be classified as a threat for a C-Rank mission all on their own. They were moving fast, but they had not yet arrived.

Toru might also notice in the distance that the Ama that had gone after Zaizen was bounding towards him. She was at least five hundred meters out and not yet in a range to threaten him.

Zaizen could hear the screams of the two chakra signatures in front of him as his Endan jutsu at hit them leaving them with bad burns, what made it even worse for them was that his Fukyū Kousoku no Jutsu was starting to take hold of them making them paralysis to stop them from moving, what Zaizen didn't know what was happening is that the guy above him on the lookout duties, who had been getting in his path from the start had performed some hand signs as he released his water ninjutsu. Water would start to come above and go onto the beach before Zaizen, this would likely be enough to free the two chakra signatures from his jutsu. Zaizen had been using walking on water still prior so whatever this liquid was gonna be used for it couldn't be used as a trap, but not wanting to give the two chakra Signatures time to do much else he pulled out two kunai from his pouch, this was followed by two explosive tags as Zaizen attached them to the kunai, with his two explosive kunai now ready Zaizen would jump backward from his current location giving him a bit more distance as he threw his kunai at the two men since they were close together to start with these two kunai with explosive tags on more than likely would be enough to finish them off as the kunai reached the targets Zaizen created the seal to make them explode. As the loud explosion would be obvious by this point.

Zaizen had also noticed signs in the mists of a large outline in the distance behind the Island of something getting closer it was big, Zaizen first instinct was that it was a ship likely with reinforcements for the enemy. Zaizen then would use his sensory to chakra the Signature that had been above him causing problems for him know he is going to be a problem, so Zaizen would start to move in his direction first starting to climb in a blind spot behind him as he was above Zaizen so wouldn't see him coming. After jumping up the various rocks and old structures on his way to the upper level it didn't take Zaizen very long to reach the upper sections where the chakra signature was. Zaizen didn't make noise either so hearing the man wasn't an option either due to his silent killing, yeah the man could see through the mist, but not behind a blind spot.

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him increase his evasion rate.

Though a bit slow eventually the two Ama were within range or at least in his sight. The girl was tearing at seaweed to try and save the fish monster that had tried to consume him. It looked like a bit of progress had already been made simply from that moment of discombobulation closer to the surface.

Alas a new problem would make itself known with several sharks - particularly three tiger sharks were Toru's concern more than the others - coming into the area due to the amount of blood that was spilling into the water. Toru knew that he would not necessarily be a prime target since he was not the one bleeding. And even still if they tried to bite him they might break their teeth before damaging Toru - though being in their jaws would not be a pleasant thing so Toru had to keep a vigilant peripheral on them... Worse yet was the shadow approaching but not yet a threat - which meant he had to act now for the seaweeding duo.

It would be a simple maneuver that Toru would perform, his coral fast and strong, he would focus his chakra and force a literal wall of coral to grow between the two, wedging in to force them apart. In the midst of what was hopefully them being forced apart by a wall, the wall would grow large sharp coral spikes the intent was to fully impale them on either side and either put them out of commission or kill them outright if he was going to be dealing with a bigger threat soon.

The spikes would not follow them if they managed to have good enough reflexes to dodge, they would grow to about a meter in length out of the wall in a flash and remain this size.
