Fugetsu felt his punch connect, his lips parting in a wide smile as he finally, finally got one over on the smug bastard Toru… and then had no time to react as the Katon Clone exploded in roaring ball of flames that engulfed everything around him, just barely missing Zaizen and the monster of a man he was fighting. His Gum cloak provided a modicum of protection from the flames, but it was clearly not enough, and severe burns covered the Houzuki’s body as he fell to the ground, speechless and barely able to breathe. He lived though, if only just, and with the last of his strength he shifted into his water form, slowly dribbling down towards the ocean.

As for the massive tank of a man fighting Zaizen, he whirled to face his opponent, roaring in pain and rage as he crouched and charged, barely conscious save for the bloodlust pumping through his veins. He raised his claws, still charged with Raiton chakra, to meet the spear that had been thrown at him- and missed, his swipe cleaving through the air far too late to stop the spear of Raiton chakra as it blasted through his chest, obliterating his entire chest with the sheer force of the blow. For added measure, Zaizen’s cuts met the man mid-stride, slicing through his body from every angle in a bloody display of speed that sent bits of bone and guts flying everywhere as he was eviscerated from every angle possible.

With that, and provided Zaizen did nothing to stop Fugetsu’s watery body from reaching the sea, the fight on the beach would end in victory for the Kiri-nin.

Back with Toru, the Kage would feel his chakra spike as the memories from his Katon Clone flooded in- just in time for his chakra hands to grasp the old man’s blade in a firm, solid grip, stopping his cut dead in its tracks. The old man’s eyes widened, but he didn’t freeze- instead, his hands left the blade instantly, the Windrunner justu powering his retreat as he leapt up and over the boy-king’s attempt to strike his back, flipping in mid air so as to land behind Toru, perhaps a step away.

"Come, Toridasu!” He shouted, clasping his hands together as he stepped forward- and instantly, the blade moved, summoned by the command word into his hands in a perfectly executed kesagiri right to left, his breath exhaling as he struck down with all the force of his body. Chakra molded around the blow, the Kiretsu technique, splitting through the burning cloak that the boy had surrounded himself with in order to ensure that the cut, masterful as it was, slashed him true and cut the boy down where he stood. If it landed, of course.

The fact that the cloak’s burning heat was consuming his flesh in an ever more rapid manner did not concern the old man; he was too focused on the fight, the cut, the thrill of the moment to care, and with his nerves seared away years ago he couldn’t feel the pain, only a dull sense that something was wrong. He wouldn’t last much longer, but if his blow landed, he wouldn’t have to.

The old man escapes Toru's attempt by a hair's breath, allowing him to take his sword for a moment before summoning it back to his hands to strike at Toru's exposed back using Ni no Uchi Irazu combined with Kiretsu. He has sustained serious burns form Toru's chakra cloak, and they WILL begin to affect him next round.

The thunder spear that Zaizen had created prior had met its target as went straight through the chest of the large man, not stopping at that Zaizen struck the man down with his extended sword with its great slashing range as Zaizen cut up the large man into several piece's effectively putting down the large man for good as his blood and guts splatted across the beach, some of it landing on Zaizen and other various places. As his sword came to rest in his hand a sudden explosive came in the direction of where the fire clone had been prior. Zaizen felt as the fire clone exploded having been struck by the Hozuki. As the fire clone exploded its inferno of fire spread out across the beach, while Zaizen had just been outside of the fire range, the explosion shockwaves had hit Zaizen sending him flying backwards only for him to stick his sword into the ground with the man holding the sword with two hands, the sword in the ground acting as something to hold on to stop Zaizen flying back into the sea.

Zaizen then picked up something moving with his mist sensory it had to have been the Hozuki as the chakra signature of Toru's fire clone had disappeared. Zaizen felt the aftershocks of the explosion calming, but as he was about to stand up and move to intercept the Hozuki he felt himself lose his balance slightly, effectively dropping down to one knee, the sword still in the ground in front of him. This battle was beginning to take its toll on Zaizen, his chakra reserves were beginning to feel the strain as he panted slightly. While it was a massive problem running out of chakra, the only important thing here was the mission Zaizen's life didn't matter he knew this better than most. He had felt through the mist sensory of the Hozuki escape into the sea and there was little chance of getting to him now, if he was smart he would stay away, but it was something for Zaizen to keep in the back of his mind. Right now Zaizen had to catch up with Toru as he could feel his chakra signature at the center of the island with the chakra signature from before. Zaizen picked himself up from the ground and gathered himself for a moment before pulling his blade from the ground and returning it to his back. He then began running once more as he headed for the center of the Island.

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him increase his evasion rate.

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. The man would release the weapon and Toru would adjust his plan on the fly, still stepping aside as the man would jump over him and summoned the blade to him, Toru's plan was now not to combat the attack in truth but rather to force his way around it. After all, he could see it coming after the man had jumped and moved in for the attack. No sword would come to combat the man, and Toru had moved just away enough to stay away from him literally being sliced into rather he put his coral to the test. Manipulating it into a defensive wall for the sword to slice through. Indeed, it would be at least the section right in front of the opponent, his coral only bowing to the whims of immense kinetic force. But Toru pushed the coral forward like a wall to consume the man's body - save his arms and sword - into the coral not unlike an iron maiden.

The intention with this would be to catch the man in the middle of his attack, in his swing so he had a much harder time pulling back or canceling the attack altogether. Whether Toru was in the way or not would not fully matter - though he had stepped away just enough to not have his body be out of the way (not his cloak though) - as the coral would take the advantage of the stationary target and once fully surrounded would push out sharp shards of coral - like daggers - inwards in an attempt to fully impale the man. Toru was just hoping he was not a Hozuki.

With Zaizen’s exhaustion taking its toll, Fugetsu was able to slide his liquid form into the ocean, seeping its healing water through his body to fix the damage done by Toru’s Katon clone as he sped down and away from the beach. His thoughts swirled furiously as he floated amidst the sea, one with it- and without thinking he shifted back to his corporeal body, popping two chakra pills before blurring through hand seals as he seized the water around him, forming it into massive, fifty foot tall fish monster of pure sea water, with him at the center. Not yet Toru. Not yet.

To Zaizen, this would all be quite confusing to his senses, as Fugetsu chakra would disappear for a short time before reappearing, stronger than before, only for the sea to recede quickly in front of him, coalescing into a towering beast of water that dwarfed him by many orders of magnitude. His only consolation, in truth, was that the beast was slow, and he had time to see the things limbs coming as two of them slammed down onto the beach in a mighty crash of water and earth.

As for Toru, his gambit to catch the old warrior in his own attack paid off, and paid off well; with his body slowly burning from the boy-king’s chakra cloak, the old warrior had no time (and no way) to react to the enveloping coral that smothered his blade and body, piercing him from every angle with knife-like spikes that eviscerated his flesh, puncturing both lungs and piercing his skull. The only thought that passed through the old warrior’s mind before he died was one of supreme surprise- he had hoped for a duel, after all, but instead had gotten a slaughter. Such is the way of the Shinobi…

As Toru’s coral sliced into the swordsman, he would feel the island shake- and, if he looked towards the beach, he would just be able to make out the top of Fugetsu’s water-monster as it reared back from its blow, though not the Houzuki himself.

The battle, it seemed, wasn’t quite over just yet.

As Zaizen started to move toward the center of the Island he had picked up two chakra signatures only for one of them to suddenly disappear from his sensing ability, Zaizen assumed that Toru had dealt with the entity he had been engaged with. Then suddenly from behind Zaizen he had felt Fugetsu's chakra from behind him as he felt his chakra boost to higher levels, just as Zaizen placed a few steps in front of him, he suddenly stopped to turn around to face the sea as a water creature was being formed before his eyes with what seemed like Fugetsu at its centre. Zaizen had the advantage in the sense of outrunning the creature as he came down with his long limps as it tried to strike at the beach Zaizen would simply move with speed to the left heading away from the beach to keep clear from the creature as the mist would hide Zaizen's escape for now as he remained out of sight.

Zaizen could either engage with the Fugetsu in this creature form and wait for Toru to arrive or go for it and hope that Zaizen makes a direct hit. Zaizen's decision was to engage with the creature as a member of Kirigakure it was his duty to do so, so like previously Zaizen formed another lighting lance in his hands it didn't take long for it to form as he decided this time to make an AOE version as he aimed the best he could towards the center for the creature and without delay and while its limbs were out of the way. Hopefully, the lance would hit near about center of the creature with the goal of sending an electrical current to stun Fugetsu, but only time will tell after throwing the lance of the outcome of the result. Zaizen knew fine well he didn't have a ton of chakra remaining as he needed to be careful as he couldn't drag this out for too much longer.

DESCRIPTION:
Requiring no handseals. The user generates Raiton Chakra, applying shape manipulation, that chakra is then condensed and formed into a 7 meter long lance. This lance can be thrown, however, despite being physically thrown, it's actually propelled via chakra acting as a incredibly fast and long ranged projectile. The user throws it which gives it a specific command upon launch, this enables it to have varying effects on desire.

The spear gives off a static sound when created and thrown, removing it's capabilities as an assassination technique. Max Range for any projectiles is 100 Meters, before dissipation.

[Piercing]: The user launches it as a piercing lance, which penetrates defenses of equal or lesser rank. With this, it's speed is at its highest, making it incredibly hard to dodge at close to mid range.

[AoE]: The use launches the spear as an paralytic device, when it lands upon an object, it expands as a electric net over the surface spawning 15 meters in diameter with the point of impact acting as the center. Any living existence that touches it will receive a large electrical surge which acts as a temporarily paralytic. This can last from 2 post to 1 post time, depending the distance from the diameter. If at the center, or touched directly, 2 post paralysis is achieved, if at it's mid or outskirts, only a 1 post paralysis will occur. [Using this version]

[Controlled]: After launching the spear, the user produces the [Tiger] hand seal. This will allow the user to manipulate its movement, however, effectively cutting it's speed to enhance it's mobility and maneuverability. Allowing it to be easier to dodge.

Another enemy down, but the island shook and he knew things were not quite yet over. They would have to finish the job before they could continue forward - that is collecting all of what they could find from this island and bringing it home to their nation. It was unsurprising that there were so many enemies here, especially strong ones, but frustrating still.

The teen looked up from his spot, it was hard to tell but something large was out by the shore. He climbed up a tree, hanging on the tip of it to note that it was in fact a giant Hozuki monster. So, Fugetsu was not dead, his clone had not managed to take him out in the end.

He huffed to himself, slid down to a branch and then came running in the direction of where Zaizen was, tracking him via scent. Once arrived, Zaizen was sending out an electrical lance towards the center of the monster.

Toru was no longer in his red shroud, he did not use arbitrarily and this exchange would need to be done more stealthily in the mist.

"Perhaps I can distract him? He seemed quite upset by my... Existence. If his attacks are following me, you'll have a clean shot."

That was his suggestion, and if Zaizen agreed to it - they did not have a lot of time to talk - he would dart bounding in and out of the mist to visually distract the water monster in an attempt to get Fugetsu to attack in Toru's direction which was decisively in a direction opposite of Zaizen.

Zaizen, despite his tiredness, proved to be far faster than Fugetsu had given him credit for; the Elite Jounin avoided his water monster’s limbs with little difficulty, sending a spike of annoyance through the Houzuki as he reared back, already looking for the counter attack. It came bare a moment later, a crackling lance of Raiton that would surely make his life hell if he let it touch his current form… so he didn’t, forming hand seals for a simple Suiton Jutsu that became much more potent in this form.

Kōdona Baburu Baria no Jutsu. He thought, the ocean water swirling around him as he formed three full layers of bubble barrier around his massive frame, each with just a little bit of space between them. Zaizen’s lance hit the first layer and broke through easily, losing some power before it spindled out all over the second barrier, its electricity coursing through the bubble and breaking it down- only to stop upon the third bubble, the energy too weak to get through the man himself. Fugetsu hadn’t gotten away entirely unscathed though; his chakra reserves were waning rapidly, and the Houzuki knew he couldn’t keep this up forever. If he was to win, he had to do it quick-

Toru. The thought echoed through his mind as he laid eyes on the boy-kage, his anger bubbling up into rage as he began to form hand seals, the fury inside of him erupting as he let loose a strong, primal roar through his massive water body- and launched a blast of Suiton at his former friend that, if it hit, would crush him like a bug, and Zaizen along with it.

As he fired his lightning lance toward Fugetsu he had formed what looked like to be some kind of barriers in front of him that would stop the advance of his lightning lance in its track, he still had a final barrier in place that protected his form mainly the center that Zaizen had targeted with his lightning lance before, just as his attack had been stopped the Mizukage had arrived on the scene and Toru suggested that he would use himself as bait to distract Fugetsu as he seemed to hate him more than anyone Zaizen didn't really know his history between them too much, but it held a deep grudge it seemed. Zaizen didn't respond to the Mizukage directly he just nodded his head in agreement as he knew what needed to be done so Toru would move away from Zaizen with the aim of distracting Fugetsu. However, he formed some more hand signs as a large water dragon had been formed completely made of water and since there was a natural source that being the sea it took hardly any time to form.

Zaizen simply took a deep breath with the air filling his lungs, he didn't show any fear towards this Hozuki as he simply ran towards the large water dragon that had been formed of course the mist was still covering the vast area from before so would go hand in hand with his plan. The mist would help with covering some of Zaizen's movements, but as he ran towards the dragon creature his goal was simple he was going to run right through it, with the use of his clan abilities to make himself incorporeal. Zaizen plan was simple he was going to run through the water dragon and once he was on the other side of it using the mist as further cover would continue to head right for Fugetsu and his water monster form, and jump right through his water form and the barrier protecting him. Zaizen was hoping that with Fugetsu's attention on Toru and thinking that Zaizen would simply swallowed up by the water dragon he wouldn't notice him going through the water dragon and his huge water form as he would appear on the water behind Fugetsu. The mist would cover his tracks to a point and Zaizen would simply form another lightning lance but this time with Fugetsu's back turned to Zaizen, hopefully With how slow his huge form was this would be enough to finish him off as he threw his lightning lance towards the center where Fugetsu was, this time it was much quicker in speed as he aimed it dead on target.

Requiring no handseals. The user generates Raiton Chakra, applying shape manipulation, that chakra is then condensed and formed into a 7 meter long lance. This lance can be thrown, however, despite being physically thrown, it's actually propelled via chakra acting as a incredibly fast and long ranged projectile. The user throws it which gives it a specific command upon launch, this enables it to have varying effects on desire.

The spear gives off a static sound when created and thrown, removing it's capabilities as an assassination technique. Max Range for any projectiles is 100 Meters, before dissipation.

[Piercing]: The user launches it as a piercing lance, which penetrates defenses of equal or lesser rank. With this, it's speed is at its highest, making it incredibly hard to dodge at close to mid range. [Using this version]


[AoE]: The use launches the spear as an paralytic device, when it lands upon an object, it expands as a electric net over the surface spawning 15 meters in diameter with the point of impact acting as the center. Any living existence that touches it will receive a large electrical surge which acts as a temporarily paralytic. This can last from 2 post to 1 post time, depending the distance from the diameter. If at the center, or touched directly, 2 post paralysis is achieved, if at it's mid or outskirts, only a 1 post paralysis will occur.

[Controlled]: After launching the spear, the user produces the [Tiger] hand seal. This will allow the user to manipulate its movement, however, effectively cutting it's speed to enhance it's mobility and maneuverability. Allowing it to be easier to dodge.

Toru's plan worked to some degree, and he paused within the mist to watch the dragon form aimed directly at him. He did not worry about Zaizen, expecting for the man to figure it out himself for the time being. He needed to focus carefully on the task at hand, that is to block the head of the dragon. He had been inside crushing waters before, and had managed to get out. Toru was not easy to crush by any means, but that did not mean he wanted to force himself into a situation that was quite that dangerous just because he knew he could withstand higher pressures and attacks.

It did not matter.

In the moment, Toru faced off with the dragon head and waited until the very last possible moment to give Zaizen as much time as possible to do what he needed to do to finish the job.

So when the dragon head was ready to crash up against the shore, Toru lifted his arms conjuring a large wall of coral. It was indeed, quite large and therefore took quite a bit of his chakra supply to create but it was meant to counter the water that was coming towards him. It was capable of withstanding huge kinetic force after all, so even if it did crack under pressure a little bit, it would still break up the head of the dragon and destroy the Fugetsu's technique in the process, keeping Toru safe from harm as he headed further into the mist and away from shore.

His heart rate was at an all time high, and he was breathing hard, but trying to even it all out by breathing through his nose and not taking large gulps to overcompensate.

Fugetsu watched as Toru sped off, away from the masked man, clearly trying to bait him into chasing him deeper onto the island, away from the sea. And, despite knowing this, the trick worked; the Hozuki was tired, furious, his sight blinded by the red rage of hate and his burning need for vengeance. Slashing his hand across the island in his new, massive form, the young man twisted his Watatsumi around, flowing it towards the boy-kage who, through dint of simply being adopted by the wrong person, had so earned his ire.

Unfortunately for the Hozuki, this hyper-fixation on Toru came at a cost, as the Mizukage’s coral wall soon proved he was more than capable of handling even the most destructive of his Suiton techniques- and, more importantly, it allowed Zaizen the chance to slip through his water form undetected and emerge on the other side before plunging a lance of pure Raiton chakra into his back. The electricity surged through his system, burning what should have been unburnable and sending waves of heat through his brain, which fried near instantly.

With the water-demon’s controller dead the construct began to break apart, water cascading in every direction as the sea greedily reclaimed what it could, the island flooding with what it couldn’t. Some was blocked by Toru’s coral wall but not all, and both men, due to their proximity to the beast, would have to deal with the wave of surging, seething water that came.

The battle, it seemed, was finally over.

Fugetsu's brain is literally fried by Zaizen's attack as the Raiton disperses through the entire Water monster form, killing him- however, the massive water-beast's form breaks up, making a miniature tidal wave for you both to deal with. Toru has some breathing room because of his wall of coral, but Zaizen is extremely close, so you will have to deal with it.

As expected Zaizen's lightning lance hit his target from behind it caused Fugetsu to be fried from the destruction of the electricity of his lightning lance which pretty much ended the threat that Fugetsu had produced, but as the controller of the huge water body created by Fugetsu had been killed, the water could not be contained in the form any longer and it needed to escape as it released from its hold and spread in every direction around them, some of it towards the sea, some water gushing towards the Island, but what made this a threat is that it would cause a powerful wave of surging water. Zaizen while close could obviously see the water coming toward him, of course, he was concerned about his chakra levels now, so needed to keep his usage to a minimum where possible, he knew he could probably outrun the water surge coming towards him but he needed a head start.

Quickly after taking a deep breath, Zaizen would simply hold a single hand sign as the man would look like he disappeared from view as he appeared far from his original location Zaizen had used the body flicker technique to move himself well ahead of the surging wave as he arrived releasing the hand sign as he then started to run with his legs to keep well ahead of the wave sooner rather than later the water would faze out and if the water did catch up with Zaizen his clan abilities would be able to get him out of it, but for now he kept ahead of the wave and ran for it across the sea, this was similar to how they approached the Island in the first place. Zaizen reputation as one of the fastest shinobi in Kirigakure's history was being put to the test right now.

Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

Toru could only hear the rush and roar of the water as it started to settle, and for all of its displacement that it caused he realized he needed to act quickly. He rooted himself into the ground and forced a small dome structure of coral all around himself, making sure that the coral came from the ground so that even if water tried to displace the dome it was too far into the ground to do so. Then, he simply hunkered down. Once he was certain that the water had settled and washed over him he would activate his cloak one last time so that he could breathe under the water if he needed to swim out from it, though most likely with how large the island was - it was an unlikely thing to occur...

Either way he would either come up onto the surface or simply de-activate his cloak immediately after finding out that there was not enough water to warrant all of that.

Once it was all said and done though the boy leader had to simply stand there and catch his breath. It seemed that there was no one around now and they had defeated all of their enemies. Which meant completing the mission...

Pillage anything worth keeping and burn the rest. So, Toru set out towards the ship via which they came and commanded the troops to search the island for all valuables and to load them onto the ship and otherwise to burn all other belongings so that if anyone dared return, there would be nothing to return.

Once all that was settled he would return to the ship and they would set sail for home... Assuming nothing else crazy happened.

Zaizen kept on moving across the water to get away from the wave that had been coming towards the man at a pace, but Zaizen would finally got clear of the water following him, now that he knew he was clear from the powerful wave, he would start to slow down before coming to a complete stop. Zaizen would then catch his breathe as the man was quite tired now, he had used a lot of his chakra and didn't really have too much left to give, but the ghost of the mist had survived another day and in turn helped his village, while this was some part in making amends for his past, he just hoped that the success of this mission, would push Kiri to greater heights and maybe even the Mizukage finally giving Zaizen some trust.

Zaizen still panting a little could feel the Mizukage's chakra some distance closer back towards the Island as he started to slowly work back in the direction of Toru's signature. As Zaizen approached he could the sound of men and what seemed like the outline of a ship within the mist, it seemed like something was happening on the ship and as Zaizen got closer and climbed up to the deck of the ship he could see they were loading anything that could be salvaged from the Island as the original mission objective was. Zazien then tracked down Toru using his chakra sensory before approaching him, " I believe that is all the enemies clear now Mizukage. I cannot sense the presence of any more chakra around the area other than the people around this boat." Zaizen had said before panting a bit more, Zaizen was beat. " If that is everything dealt with Mizukage, do I have your permission to go to my quarters to rest, as we head back?" If Toru didn't object or have any more to say Zaizen would head to his small quarters below deck to catch up on some rest.
