The last three weeks had been a departure from that formula however, as a few of the shinobi medics had finally tried to talk to Konsho instead of ordering him to do something with no reasoning. According to the more experienced medics, the issue was less that of Konsho continuing to use his body at all, and more so that when unobserved the staff had no way to tell if he was actually performing safe workout regimes. The blue haired shinobi couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed that it had taken them several stress filled weeks to actually explain this to him instead of communicating it immediately. So much wasted time and effort that could have been avoided if someone had the courtesy to actually talk to him, rather than barking orders as if they were talking to a mutt.
[break][break]
Of course at this point the medical staff had proven they wanted to work with him- not against him. Thus Konsho extended the same courtesy to them as well, working out a plan with the various doctors tasked with overseeing his recovery. The only condition that was nonnegotiable was the requirement that he able to undergo some kind of physical workout on a daily basis. For the first week, the crimson eyed shinobi was limited solely to running various courses that were used for physical recovery in the hospital. For Konsho, this meant not just doubling his efforts- but adding time restrictions given the ease of these areas in comparison. This was met with ease- much to Konsho's chagrin. The Gates was at not point supposed to be easy. Once his ribs had recovered from their bludgeoning, the blue haired shinobi was allowed to utilize specific exercise routines. For the first week, Konsho was using a strange variant of squats in which in between each squat the practitioner would move one leg behind the other and crouch, alternating the positioning of the legs for each squat. By the start of the second week, where he was allowed to start using lateral lunges again, the young man had reached a record of over two hundred of these variant squats. In the third week, Konsho finally convinced the staff to allow him to begin reverse crunches, on the condition that his arm be kept in a sling as he did so. This last restriction added a new difficulty to the exercise- to the point where Konsho had to keep a separate record of his achievements whilst in this state. Perhaps limiting his body parts could be another way to continue his training.
[break][break]
During this time, the only reprieve Konsho had from training that was not medical check ups were spent with a local blacksmith by the name of Eiji. A giant of a man, Eiji was covered in callous skin, old grey hairs set against a wrinkled and leathery face. The old man's eyes seemed to rest deep in his skull, this combined with the force of gravity sagging his lips made the man seem to have a perpetual scowl. Despite this, Eiji was a straight forward person, a local blacksmith who always wanted to get straight to business. Making as much use of his time as possible, Konsho tasked the man with the creation of a suit of armor that could replace his battered and dented training weights. Hopefully, it would be done by the time he was released.
[break][break]
The three week recovery period, strangely enough, had only added to Konsho's repertoire- giving him many more avenues to train his body. But now, as a doctor finally entered the room, Konsho could remove the one limitation that was actively holding him back; this cast. The bones had settled- although the staff had informed him the surgical scars would never fade. Konsho didn't truly care how his hands looked- the results were what mattered. Now it was time to see if that project he started was finished, and try again to break his own record.
