With Kimi toe-to-toe with the jounin, that left the extras in the room for Daichi to deal with: his role, here, was to keep them off Kimi's back as much as possible. Still focusing the majority of his attention on his sensory perception of the movement around them, in order to be able to notify Kimi if any surprise attacks came to his rear or flanks, Daichi threw out a token assault of kunai at the more negligible of their foes. If he was able to strike at body mass and take a few of their enemies out, all the better, but his focus was on keeping the heat off Kimi's back, feeding him information, and staying out of the jounin's way. His barrier armor and the seals he had put in place would hopefully be enough of a deterrent for any enemy forces that came charging at Daichi-- at least enough that he could soak a blow or two while he was a sitting duck in this room, and if he became the object of attention then he would change tactics accordingly. His concern for his own safety was scant: he was focused wholly on mission completion, and nothing else. He only hoped that his sister and the other chuunin weren't dealing with the same caliber of enemy as Kimihiro and he.

It was an unfortunate thing that Kimihiro dodged the attack, but it did not matter too much. It showed that he was capable of such quick movements. If only to his own chakra detriments. He was ready it seemed when Kimihiro approached with a large swatch of a fire attack, he was quick but the man had an instinct unlike any other, reflexes that moved him quickly out of the way of the fire. Taking a moment to knead some chakra before expelling a large amount of water that would blast through the fire dousing it and filling the room with hot steam. But the torrent was large enough to keep going to sweep Kimihiro and Daichi off their feet if they were not careful.

Followed by this torrent, something else came taking advantage of this water that was filling the room - sticky ropes that would bind Kimi and for some reason would be extra hard to break out of if he tried.

In the meantime, Daichi was throwing kunai at the host of invisible enemies that had not yet fully manifested. But upon the water sweeping through the area they seemed to materialize out of of the stone ground with grins, taking the kunai into their watery bodies easily, pulling them back out and throwing them back right at Daichi all at once.

Monday October 23rd 9:15pm CST

The man has dodged the fire and in retaliation summons a rather large torrent of water that is now filling up the room. After which he attempts to bind Kimi with some sticky ropes... For some reason a medium amount of chakra does not work on the ropes if Kimihiro tries.

Daichi's kunais land but the enemies pull them out of their watery bodies to throw them back with similar speed.

Because of the viscosity of the water, it is even more difficult for them to escape its confines. The technique can be escaped by releasing a medium amount of chakra from ones person to disrupt the sticky water.

A torrent of water flooded the room, dampening Kimihiro's technique. Daichi was forced to bound up to avoid being bowled over by the initial wave, sending a small surge of chakra to his feet as he landed in order to keep his balance on the surface of the water that now flooded the room. But he was so focused on this that he realized too late that his kunai were being flung back at him by--were those Hozuki clan members? Watery bodies pulled his kunai out from where they landed and sent them flying back in his direction. He twisted out of the way, successfully dodging one; but a second struck the barrier stretched thinly against his skin, shattering it, and the the third sunk deep into the meat of his shoulder. Daichi grimaced, his teeth gritting, but left the kunai in place: it hurt like hell, but at least it was staunching the bleeding. In his attempt to dodge the kunai he abandoned his prepared seals: against the Hozuki's watery bodies it was unlikely they would do much anyway, and he didn't have access to the critical techniques needed to knock a Hozuki out of their elemental form. He needed to help Kimi focus down the boss--without their ringleader, maybe the circling sharks would flee these waters. Daichi took out his prepared lion closing roar tag and formed a single handseal, flash-stepping behind the jounin and attempting--perhaps in vain--to slap the tag against the man's back. Even if it didn't land, making himself a target could provide Kimihiro with the precious few seconds he needed to break free of his bonds and launch a new assault.

Kimihiro frowned at the Suiton eliminating his own jutsu, annoyed more than anything that his opponent had such a clear counter. The waves of water were not a hindrance to him as he rode them oit easily enough, having fought on or near the water since he was a small child, it was second nature to adjust to it. What wasn't seconnd nature was the binding ropes that came towards him, attempting to entrap him and hold him fast.

Being restrained in a fight like this was a death sentence, and the Kaguya began to struggle against it before it had even fully caught him, his deceptively strong limbs straining to break free, chakra flaring through his system to fight against the restrictions that would try and hold him.

It wouldn't take him long to escape, however were it not for Daichi's own attack on the man, it may have been too long. Instead, Kimihiro would burst free and charge at the man, slicing out at him with a rapid and debilitating slash imbued with chakra, trying to time it with his partner's attack. The Kaisuikaga would lash out, a sharp vacuum extending his already crazy reach in hopes of catching the man off guard.

Kimihiro's attention was not completely ignoring the others though, just in case.

Placing great speed and power behind a single swipe or thrust, the user will deliver an iron-rending strike against whatever is on the receiving end of the sword. The sword will split the air (or water) around its edge or tip, creating a splitting vacuum within a meter in the direction of every attack, one that can even halve an incoming fireball. This force can only cut through flesh, but adds an unseen range to the weapon, even if it is avoided.

Daichi smartly kept the kunai in his body to staunch any potential bleeding, as removing it now might spell doom in due time if he let the wound bleed freely. The man is about to follow up, but Daichi disappears and re-appears, this causes their main opponent to turn his body but in a way that he would be now facing Daichi's left side as opposed to simply turning out of the way. Every good type of fighter knew how to get out of the way, but especially ones that focused in the area that he did.

Kimihiro was coming around now, though was quickly intercepted by one of the Hozuki peons who stepped in to try and block the blow completely. Unfortunately, the blow was coming in too fast, faster than the Hozuki could become water and it sliced into his shoulder and halved the individual in half, showing that they were not quite as strong as the man that they were fighting with.

In this slightly stationary moment where all things hung in the balance - between the main bad moving out of the way, and the Hozuki getting cut in half - the main opponent channeled a surprising amount of Raiton into the area. The water that they were all now standing on becoming a conductor that could put down the two boys the man was fighting against.

It went straight through his feet too making it an attack that they would scant see coming. The two would find their hearts fully restarted and their nervous systems fried after such an attack. But they would not die from it.

Wednesday October 25th 9:20pm CST

The man sees Daichi disappear from his spot and performs a quick rotation to be at Daichi's side. Meanwhile a Hozuki takes all of the attack that Kimi sends - if it extends too much it may hit Daichi too. The man uses the water on the ground as a conductor to hit Kimihiro and Daichi hard enough to restart their hearts.

The most basic form of Raiton release, this technique involves nothing more than converting the user's chakra into basic Raiton or even more simply raw electricity. The foundation of all Raiton techniques, most Shinobi simply overlook it as nothing more than a stepping stone. While something that would normally be considered only a D rank in actual difficulty, the technique's C ranking comes from the sheer versatility of the technique - when properly controlled it can vary from something as weak as a simple static shock to a jolt strong enough to drop a full grown man. Due to being electric in nature, the technique can be channeled along any conductive substance, somewhat making up for the fact that it requires contact to work. In the hands of an extremely skilled user, it can also be used as something akin to a defibrillator should the need arise.

Pain. Utter, excruciating pain. It was a strange sensation, to feel his own heart stop beating in his chest as he dropped to the ground: to feel his blood stop flowing. To his eyes it looked as though the world slowed to a crawl for the longest recorded second, and then abruptly shifted back into high gear. Daichi's jaw felt locked in place; one of his teeth might have cracked with how hard he was clenching his jaw. He was suddenly indescribably grateful for his training session with Sora: for how brutal it had been, he'd never imagined that the experience of getting point-blank tasered would be so immediately relevant to a real-world scenario. He'd have to thank her again later. Pain was something he could work through as long as his muscles were cooperating. Fifty-fifty shot there; even as he tried to prop himself up on one knee he could feel his spasming tissue begin to give out on him. Fine. He didn't need to be standing to be helpful. He took one of the shuriken he'd pre-prepared with the great expansion seal and reached out from his position on the ground, jamming it viciously into the enemy jounin's hamstring with every ounce of effort he had to muster, before forming the handseal needed to force it to grow exponentially in size.

There was no way to properly react to the sudden sparks of electricity that shot through the water, and as red eyes widened slightly in surprise the absent thought of 'at least he's hurting his allies too' managed to travel through his mind before every muscle in his body suddenly tensed and spasmed. The pain would have been blinding if he still felt pain normally, but what sense he had left told him that his nervous system was very, very unhappy with what happened.

The weight in his chest of a suddenly stopped heart only added to that sensation. 

The moment the electricity ceased he was moving again, forcing his spasming body to move as he desired regardless of what it was trying to tell him about being damaged. He was the master of his own body thank you very much! Chakra flowed through his body to gather in his limbs and his blade, his attention focused almost entirely on the Jounin class enemy, waiting until he saw Daichi make a move. 

"Ow, you bitch" he deadpanned in a surprisingly flat voice at that point, trying to keep the man's attention on him as he suddenly blurred out of view, moving far beyond anything he had prior, practically vanishing from sight, lashing out with Kubikiribocho with all the speed and strength he had, enhanced through his use of the Bushin Hazan technique. Almost as soon as he had finished his first strike he vanished once more to attack from a different position. This would happen six times in total before he suddenly appeared in front of the man one last time, bringing his weapon down in a heavy two handed strike more powerful than any of the previous.

Regardless of the outcome, he would stop to catch his breath, limbs still not moving quite right after the nerve disruption.

DESCRIPTION:

The user pumps chakra through their limbs and their sword before blurring out of view. Over the course of a second the user darts across the battlefield and unleashes a flurry of seven brutally powerful slashes, moving up to 3 meters at speeds difficult to perceive before each slash. The seventh slash is twice as strong as the previous six. This technique puts significant strain on the user's body, and can only be used three times in short succession (per thread). The cumulative strain creates tears in the user's leg muscles, limiting their movement speed until they are able to rest for at least a full day to recover.

Their enemy wasn't one to wait, he was already forming hand seals but something, he wasn't sure what, stopped him when the two boys stood and in this case Kimihiro deadpanned something.

It made the man laugh out loud.

"There's more where that c-" He was cut off, the sharp sensation of a shuriken lodging into the back of his thigh. It didn't feel good and he looked down at Daichi, just long enough to make eye contact with the brat.

"You think th-" Cut off again, he wasn't aware of where it was all coming from. All he knew in that moment was pain. Then, he finally saw it the little white-haired Kaguya arriving in front of him, overhead with the sword striking him down.

The expansion of the shuriken as it ripped into his back and the rest of his leg was barely registered as the man suddenly fell to the ground. The combined effort and teamwork of Daichi and Kimihiro seemingly working out as they now stood, exhausted and in a large pool of water that was dripping through the cracks in the stone.

Daichi could try and sense the area, if he so chose to see if there were anymore enemies but no one immediate was coming.

The two had a few options, they could retreat now having won the day; recoup in this locked in room and lick their wounds; continue up though this was far from the commands that they had been given and would likely result in their deaths.

Timer Stopped.

The enemy has been defeated and thus Kimihiro and Daichi's part of the event concludes. They may heal up and then retreat or continue up. Continuing up will result in more difficult enemies. They can hold this point of the building as well just in case when the jounin teams come through.

Kimihiro and Daichi however do get a successful pass for their part of the event.

Chakra and stamina are likely at all time low.

Synergy. Kimi caught the man off-guard with his flatly-delivered complaint; Daichi distracted him with the shuriken to his leg; Kimi moved faster than Daichi had ever seen him move before, delivering a series of blistering strikes and striking the man down in a final, fatal blow. There was a moment of silence, a pregnant pause as Daichi realized that they’d won… and then he laughed, strained and wheezy. "Ow, you bitch?” Daichi echoed, cackling madly. His heart was still racing, as if making up for lost time. "You killed him, Kimi, you don’t have to be rude about it.” Daichi scrubbed his face with his hands, wrinkling his nose as he realized belatedly that his palms were wet with blood-tinged water. He was wheezing gently, still trying to catch his breath after his abrupt bout of arrhythmia, but at least now he was able to scramble to his feet and check on Kimihiro. Giving Kimi a once-over, he seemed more or less fine, if about as electrocuted as Daichi felt. Satisfied that Kimi didn’t need any immediate medical attention, Daichi set about binding his own wound, yanking the kunai out of his shoulder with a grunt and staunching the wound with a dry scrap of fabric ripped from his uniform. With his Jaakugan activated, Daichi surveyed their surroundings, the vitality detection a useful boon in giving him a general sense of their allies’ whereabouts. Everyone was alive… though Sora was grievously wounded, and as he turned his gaze downward to focus more specifically on Kyoko, her sharp scream of pain pierced the air and echoed through the stone walls of the keep. Daichi grimaced, fighting back the urge to rush to his sister’s side: her arm was badly wounded, he could tell that much from here, but she was not on death’s door, and he and Kimi still had a mission objective to hold. Sho and Ikana were still alive and well fighting alongside her, and he would have to trust in their combined efforts to get Kyoko out in one piece. Hang in there, Kyo. He set about securing the perimeter of the part of the Keep they had conquered, painstakingly slogging through the last of his chakra reserves to dispel the paralysis and repulsion seals, and begin constructing a five-seal barrier to seal off the room from any further enemy intrusions. He narrated what he was seeing to Kimi all the while, giving a loose run-down of everyone’s placements within the Keep: Kasumi and Seiji had won their bout, the jounin team was also victorious, while Kyoko and company were still fighting a fierce battle.

It didn't even take him the full seven slashes to kill the man, the first one sufficient to neatly bisect him at the waist, though to be sure Kimihiro made sure to casually lop off the enemy's head with a backhanded slash as he moved past him, the Kubikiribocho paused right in the man's neck like some sort of bizarre necklace. A moment later the man's body fell to the ground with a splash, leaving his disemboided head to rest atop the massive blade before Kimihiro simply lobbed tilted the weapon and allowed it to fall.

After checking to make sure that there were no more hidden enemies, the Tokujo shoved his sword into the wall, forming a makeshift bench to sit on so his butt didn't get wet, red coated hands coming up to press at his hair and try and push it down after his little electrical debacle.

"I wanted to distract him, it worked didn't it?" he replied with a clearly tired attempt at his usual singsongy charm.

Listening to Daichi as the larger male went about securing the room, the Kaguya wondered if they were going to succeed in the end here. Retreat wasn't an option, and continuing wasn't their job, which meant they had to hold this place until told otherwise. Shouldn't be too tricky.

Writing and placing the seals was taking longer than Daichi anticipated; his attention was split with watching the action still ongoing below, and he had to keep pausing to take breaks, his chakra exhaustion was getting so severe. Kimi’s delicate, flute-y sing-song was more flat than normal, a clear sign of the strain he’d put himself through. Daichi glanced over and saw him perched atop his sword, shoved into the wall, and shook his head with dismay. "Yes, you’re very distracting,” he said, frowning. "We’re supposed to avoid damaging the Keep, not stick our swords in it.” The fight down below was not going in Kyo’s favor. Daichi was jittery, actively holding himself back from going to help—not that he’d likely be able to do much anyway, if Kyo and her team had been sealed off the way he and Kimi had. Kimi’s plaintive, wistful wish for snacks brought Daichi out of his reverie, his eyes pulling away from the seal he’d been failing to write as he watched Kyoko’s life signature dart around the Keep. "Uh… here, I might have something…” Holding his fuin pen delicately in his mouth, Daichi went digging around in his pouches and pockets. "Owl treats… no, that’s gross. Oh, here.” He produced a small bag of jerky, bringing it over to Kimi’s perch; he didn’t trust himself to lob it with any kind of accuracy, tired as he was. "Technically it’s supposed to be for the dogs, but it’s just meat, so it should be fine,” he said. It was only slightly damp from their surroundings, but probably still edible. "... Thank you,” he said after a moment, soft and sheepish. "You really did great. I’d be dead if you weren’t here.”

The battle below concluded with Kyoko and her team victorious, Kyoko hurt but still alive for their efforts, and Daichi heaved a quiet sigh of relief. After some time had passed, Daichi realized that the chakra signatures of the jounin who had been fighting on this floor alongside Sora were making their way back towards the keep--though Sora, notably, was not yet with them. He tried not to worry about this too much: Sora was extremely capable, and likely just needed a rest before rejoining the fray. Neither he nor Kimi had used the two Lion's Closing Roar seals he had prepared, though, and it seemed a waste to just hold onto them while they were on guard duty. Once he sensed them drawing near, he got the second seal back from Kimi, then briefly dashed out into the corridor to try to intercept Zaizen and Ichigoni on their way up to the top of the keep. There was also, inexplicably, a giant toad? "Here," he said breathlessly, thrusting the two tags into Ichigoni's hands. "Lion Closing Roar tags. Didn't end up needing them ourselves, thought they'd be handy. Good luck up there." And with that he'd go back to his station, doing his duty to keep their area of the keep clear and Kimihiro entertained.

Upon either placing one's hand upon a surface or utilizing an item that is capable of creating and transferring the technique, the user will create a diamond-shaped seal of varying size, depending on the user's whim. Those within the confines of this seal, touching the medium to which it is within, will feel their bodies blocked of chakra, as it works to seal one's entire body of its tenketsu. This prevents the user from releasing or even molding their chakra, removing their power of jutsu. However, the seal does nothing to stop one's physical movements, acting as a flaw that the user must take care of his or herself.

"Eh, they won't know it wasn't from the fight," Kimihiro said with a shrug as he sprawled out across Kubikiribocho. The advantage of having a sword larger than oneself was a portable bench it seemed. With blood in his still somewhat frizzy hair he definitely looked more wild than usual, but there was a sort of calm readiness to him, a predator taking the opportunity to rest in case it needed to hunt once more.

Accepting the jerky thrown his way, the Kaguya gave it a brief sniff before sticking it in his mouth, sharpened teeth chewing through the dried meat absently. It wasn't the best food he'd eaten, but it certainly wasn't the worst, not by a long shot. He waved off the thanks without a word, not really acknowledging that he had done anything out of the ordinary. He'd gone in, killed the people he was meant to kill, and kept the people alive he was supposed to keep alive. 

That was the expected result.
