Raika sighs with relief when Shikajin seems to take pity on her and places his hands over hers, so she can watch as he converts the chakra she's outputting to heal the fish much more efficiently than she'd been trying, and she can actually see that the fish's own cells are being healed and then made to replicate themselves, using the piscine's own natural method of healing in order to make the fish "heal itself", to a certain extent. This much closer and more careful observation leads to a bit of a breakthrough for Raika to help her better understand what it is that healing jutsu should really be trying to do, at least in its more advanced stages. She also obediently takes careful note of the feeling and flow of the chakra as it brings the fish back from the brink of death, causing it to flop about on its paper for a bit. The helpful encouragement definitely makes Raika feel a lot less like a failure, especially when she hears that most medical students would have passed out after the first try, but she'd been able to control her chakra well enough to seemingly impress her teacher.
"Thanks. I'm gonna have to study more on this to make sure I've got it down, but you've really helped a lot..."
Her Byakugan deactivates, and then she seems to realize the time when she sees the clock face has counted down by quite a bit of time, and she remembers that she actually desperately needs to get going. The one seafood place that actually serves the type of fish she'd become accustomed to eating in Kawa was going to close in only an hour, so she would actually need to hurry over in order to get there before the business closes for the night.
"Ack! I've got to run. Thanks again for the lesson!"
Raika hops out of the chair, stumbles momentarily, then gets her footing right and gets to rushing out of the library, making her way out to the street and then sprinting out to the restaurant. Clearly, if anything is a major motivator for the Genin, it was food. ”
