After meeting and traveling to the small farming community the beast had been terrorizing. The two proceeded to track the beast with the help of Risi's ravens. With information it was a large black bear they continued to hunt and then kill the beast with the help of Yamatsu's summons Ino and Oki.

Shosuke would proceed to use Suiton jutsu to fill the arena with a pool of water. After Yamatsu had started to get the hang of using the jutsu to stand steady Shosuke would summon a wood clone and attack Yamatsu. This helped him learn to focus and utilize the skill in a mock combat senerio.
