While on one hand it probably didn't look all that great that Takigakure was revealing it had a person that it did not know about. On the other hand it also provided opportunity for people to improve relations. This was one such ocassion that while Hotarubi had no idea who it was that would accompany him, it was none other than a perfect set to the job that was perfect for it. 'Find the leader' - 'understand the leader's intentions', that was simple enough? Hotarubi had the prized techniques which would enable him to crawl through any space he needed to, and there was also someone who was just perfect at tracking those people down and being persuasive.

As their destination had been Outpost 132 - and he knew his accoutrement would be coming from Kirigakure, their rendezvous was none other than the capital city of Nishima-Jo - settled on the northern side of Bonchi no Kuni and a verdant land with a port, it was no doubt that they would be docking here. Therefore: that's where Hotarubi was found. On the docks.

Ugh.

Hotarubi stared out at the sea as well as the boats coming in and out - they were infrequent but he'd arrived with enough time to spare that he'd seated himself down and had one leg hanging from a pier while his back laid against one of the pillars next to the water. Surprised as he was that it was built well enough to satisfy his weight, he hated the water. Hated the sea - made him feel sick for the time it took during the Chunin exams. It was awful.

Though, it was necessary to see some parts of the world, it was nothing that he was going to do in a hurry where he could arrive by his feet. For now, one of the more.. royal types of boats were coming in. Was that it? Hotarubi watched from afar as it docked, between the other wooden boats and cruise vessels, as well as the stockier shitty barges with their trade goods. From there - they could go to Outpost 132 and weed out the weakling.

To say Sora had been surprised when the request to accompany a Taki Shinobi on a mission had come down from on high would have been something of an understatement. "Bewildered” would have been a better choice of words, especially given her history with a certain member of Takigakure’s upper ranks. But the order had come down regardless, and so the pink-haired Jounin found herself aboard a ship headed for the port city of Nishima-Jo, which also happened to be Bonchi no Kuni’s capital, if the dossier on her mission was any indication.

What an odd choice for a capital city. She thought, glancing out towards the slowly approaching port, her sky-blue gaze lingering on the gulls that slowly circled above. Despite her recent visits, she hadn’t actually spent much time in Bonchi no Kuni, not enough to know any of the local players- and given that the mission she’d been sent on was intended to be less focused on fighting and more focused on investigation, that kind of knowledge seemed rather important. Still, there was nothing she could do about the lack of information; she would simply have to hope whoever Taki decided to send as her escort had a better understanding of the local politics, or at least enough wherewithal to find out.

Eventually, the ship she had boarded made its way into port, the smell of ocean salt giving way to the varied scents of a bustling pier. While the Talebearer’s crew tied down the ship and got the boarding planks ready for the other passengers, the pink-haired Jounin had a simpler method of disembarking; leaping over the side of the ship without a word, the Kiri woman landed atop the sloughing water with a grunt, chakra pooling beneath her feet as she walked the short distance between where she was and the edge of the pier, where a young man sat, waiting.

Even sitting down she could tell he was tall, with a lean build that didn’t necessarily indicate a lack of strength. The file she’d been allowed to read on her partner hadn’t included a picture, but the boy matched the description she’d read, especially given his two-toned hair color, with the top mirroring her own hair color, while the bottom reflected only a charcoal black. He even had a Taki headband wrapped around his shoulder. And yet…

"You Hotarubi?" She asked, leaping up onto the pier beside the boy as she spoke. It was unlikely he wasn’t the one she was waiting for, but.. Well. Better safe than sorry. "Because if you aren’t… might want to make yourself scarce."

Feeling the waves rock rhythmically was soothing to Hotarubi as it swelled and receded - but it did not afford him any luck on finding his partner. So, when it came to that she was approaching through the water - he had not been paying attention and for any better lack of word was unawares until she jumped onto the platform and that caught his attention very quickly as he glanced up. Hotarubi looked up first and it was the sun in his eyes, so the hat that had been on his un-extended knee would be gripped by his hand, and placed onto his head as he started to get up.

Though the sun would get in his eyes his hand would flatly push the hat down so that it wouldn't cover him so much. His apparel could have even counted him as a civilian considering the lack of equipment on his person(s), but it was evident through his headband, she correctly noted, that he was a Shinobi. He noted a headband as well: but not what it was until he had stood up- getting the sun from his eyes when she asked if he was the right person - he was going to say yes had she not then added on an unnecessary detail. A Kirigakure shinobi.

He sighed.

Hotarubi, as he would profess himself was not the most intelligent: but he had some sense. Common sense: sense of the street. He wasn't going to be professing any new philosophy styles any time soon but he could have a conversation about one a many thing. When it pertained to being sarcastic and retaliatory, he was much, much better. But to make himself scarce? As he grunted as he stood himself up, he found himself toe to toe with the pink haired woman. "That's a really interesting assessment from a woman coming from her piss poor dirt water country," It might have very well been that Kirigakure no Sato was an allied country but he hadn't been nice to those allies in the exam and he certainly didn't intend on backing down now on a homeland territory, even in spite of how close he was to his own feared enemy (water).

Did he know the geopolitics of the area? Not at all. Did he care? Also no. The man was running with a very vague something he'd heard of an unrelated conversation and was running with whatever his foul mouth could produce first.

Oh, wonderful, another mouthy little shit. Sora thought as the young man stood, his height only slightly above her own- though those scant few inches didn’t seem quite so imposing on the boy (and there was no way she was thinking of him as anything OTHER than a boy, even if he was part dirt) as they probably ought to, not when he looked like a kid’s drawing of a person… and smelled like earth mixed with swamp gas. None of this passed through the Jounin’s expression, which remained flat and decidedly uninterested in the young man’s attempt at flexing- they had a mission to get to, after all.

"And that wasn’t an answer." She said, shaking her head as walked around the teen, left hand resting on Samidare’s hilt. There wasn’t much to talk about with the boy, not when he was going to have an attitude, so whether he responded or not, she kept walking, her voice calm and not at all laced with a quiet, sharp edge that threatened nearly imminent violence, no matter what the billowing, buffeting, roiling storm of emotions in her chest was screaming. "So unless you have anything of worth to add, I suggest keeping that trap of yours shut."

She'd hate to have to beat up another Taki-nin just to make a point.

While Hotarubi was being sized up he was more than happy to do the same back to her. Pretty: pink haired (fuck yeah!) And a stiff, firm position - like there was an actual iron bar holding her shoulderblades back. Her chest was popping out more than if Hotarubi was to try and do it from a pomp peacock kind of look.

Well, in his mind: she started it. If she'd been politer, if she'd asked a question without the threat then he would have been easily more amicable: but starting off on the wrong foot would mean that he would be a bit grouchy for a while to come. "You started it. I'm your Shinobi." Unforutnately she'd already taken off and he rolled his eyes as he set off to try and match her pace (at least a bit faster if not to catch up with her to begin with). "You even know where you're going?" Hotarubi called out from behind as he walked with the arrogant gait. Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. But if he was going to be pegged as the petulant child from an instigation of her own making, then she could get the annoying teenager.

They had likely both received the same briefing, but he had the home advantage - well. Kind of... "What brings a Jonin to Taki soil, then? You here for the money or for the... relationship building?" There was just general interest there, about what the holistic relationship was between Kirigakure and Takigakure.

"Well enough." Sora said once Hotarubi caught up, the young man managing to match her pace fairly well despite his leanness; that put him squarely in the "faster than he looks” category in her mind, even without the benefit of seeing him combat to know for certain. "I passed through here on my last trip to Takigakure, so I’ve a vague sense of what parts of town are rougher than others. Feel free to interject if I’m wrong though. Locals always know better than visitors."

The Jounin paused once they reached the end of the dock, one hand resting on the hilt of her blade, not in a stance to draw it but clearly prepared to, as if the very fact that she was in Bonchi no Kuni put her on edge. Which, given how her last visit had gone, wasn’t all that surprising. She turned her gaze to the boy after a long moment of silence, her sky-blue gaze flat and, for once, open enough to let the storm of violent, unyielding violence and rage that simmered beneath the thin pane of her will show, like a hurricane caged by rice paper.

"If you must know, I’m here on orders. Because my Kage and your Lord seem to think that me carving Kuni up like a duck somehow means I like working with you people." She said, voice flat and sharp as the blade at her side, lips curling in a small, knowing sneer; because she could do it. Right here and now. Cut the boy down. Decapitate him before he could even blink, leave his corpse for the fish, and move right on her way. But she didn’t- not because there wasn’t the urge, but because she chose to be better than the monster inside. And that, more than anything, was what she disliked about most Taki-nin… because they didn’t.

"So. If you know where to go, please. Lead the way. Otherwise…" Shut the fuck up and do what you’re trained to do.

"Sure." Wasn't the time or the place to be a smartass, considering they did actually have a mission to do and Hotarubi didn't want to spend more time around her - unless she proved herself useful to him. As she came to her stop - it didn't fall to him how she held herself in anticipation of a battle. That was good. But, more pressing matters. His face contorted a little bit.

"Kunikunosaku? That writhing octopus?" Hotarubi had fought Kuni before and had not fared so well: but he had not trained as much as he had now and those fights were becoming increasingly more back and forth. If she confirmed that was who they were talking about at least in the form of a grunt or yes intonation, he would add on. "I saw her last week so you clearly didn't do a good enough job." Hotarubi would flash the Jōnin a grin and would step up his pace as to take the lead, his yellow cat-like orbs unmoving and still: and she was unfortunately right in her internal monologue. They weren't normal here.

Since she was so perceptive she would have also noted that not just his pace: but his weight. Walking at speed was causing the man to leave little imprints in the floor behind him as he walked, the floor would thud a bit more with him around that would lead most to conclude that he was just very flat footed. It would be up to her to determine any information from what she would see.

And just like that they wouldn't have anywhere to go but out. "Our targets are anyone we can find - to find out who their leader is. Frankly: any bandits we remove from the roads are good for us, so have whatever fun you like, but try to get names... locations. You get it." Given that the road was still bonchi no kuni as soon as they were past the elementary wooden gates of the port town, they would meet immediate humid, salty aired dense rainforest comprised of half waterlogged swamps to everglade style trees: bogged between water and road.

"Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if they jump out at us between here and 132."

Huh. So they can use their brain. Sora thought as Hotarubi answered her unspoken request, his pace picking up to take the lead, feet thudding into the road as if he were the most flat-footed man on the planet. Which, of course, he wasn’t; she hadn’t met a Shinobi yet, not even the most fresh faced Genin, who would walk so blithely… which meant it was either a ruse, or the boy was much, much heavier than he looked.

"Only because I chose not to kill her." She said, rolling her eyes at the Taki-nin’s comment (though she cataloged his insult- it was a rather good one), allowing the boy to take the lead. She listened somewhat attentively, sky-blue gaze taking in their surroundings as they walked down the dampened road, gravel and dirt turning to a thick, squicky mud beneath their feet. They were out of the town now, heading passing the simple wooden gates of the port and moving with careful, intentional slowness into the boggy, swampy mass that was Bonchi no Kuni.

It didn’t take long for Hotarubi’s prediction to prove true, either; about ten minutes into their trek, Sora heard the softest of splashes, the kind that might happen if a fish leapt in the air, or a bird caught a meal- and then, a minute later, she heard it again. The same sound, from two different places, spaced close enough together to alert anyone nearby, yet innocuous enough to go unnoticed by those who weren’t paying attention. Unfortunately for them, however, she and the Yamakira boy were far from their usual targets.

"You ready?" The pink-haired Jounin asked Hotarubi, stopping as spoke, right hand coming to rest on Samidare’s hilt. "Because I think we have company."

"Mhm." Hotarubi would not pursue the thought further to not push his luck, it wasn't like he wanted to have a bad mission either. For the next ten minutes Hotarubi was quiet as well and they'd not shared a word since his commentary - which added a sort of... slimy tension to the air. Was that the right word? Hotarubi felt they were on poor footing. But that's because the road they were on also actually had poor footing, as the road stopped being more of a road and more of a 'mud'.

When Sora had noticed the potential threats, Hotarubi had yet to assess them. They were likely threats - yes. But the thought of a funny comment came to mind that he would not summon to his lips.

It was certainly not time to be a smartass - but she had assumed they were enemies and while that was a fair assumption, Hotarubi was a bit more pragmatic as he felt safer. "Yes. There's seven of them, two female, five male." That was a guess and truthfully Hotarubi was wrong: there were 7 males, he was being judgy because of their weights and apparent shapes: the two 'females' simply had long hair. Hotarubi would smile at her as he pointed in their direction. But it wasn't just for show and theatrics: a noise, a sort of yelp would take place as the earth began to move and shift before Sora could have her opportunity to reveal her feminine rage.

In good form, the seven of them would have already been captured inside a developed dome of earth conjured by none other than the Takigakure ninja, seemingly from nowhere. That wouldn't keep them in, though: because a few moments later, the dome on one side would splinter at the use of a Raiton technique - creating a man sized hole that one began to crawl out of, right into Sora's loving embrace.

NAME: Doton: Tsuchi Kairō [Earth Release: Earth Corridor]
RANK: B
CHAKRA USAGE: Medium
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu

DESCRIPTION:
This technique causes the earth in the surrounding area to rise up and over a target and create a cavern, imprisoning the target. The user can leave an opening to allow attacks to go in to strike down the trapped adversaries, or close it up completely to prevent escape.

Sora Minami Avatar

age 33 years old birthday December 23rd rank Jounin occupation Genin Team 1 Leader
Sora didn’t bother questioning how the boy could possibly know the exact location and make up of the people she had heard, she simply moved, trusting that the Taki-nin’s sensory abilities, whatever they may be, were accurate enough to pin-point their targets. She didn’t have to go far to find out he was right; five steps after she started in the direction the boy had pointed, she spotted a dome of thick, muddy earth sprouting up from the ground, a startled yelp hitting her ears as she crossed the space between the road and their, now captured prey, hand on Samidare’s hilt, ready to draw.

Of course, not everything went quite so smoothly for the pair of Shinobi; a second after the dome of earth sprung up around the seven bandits, one of them smashed through it, the crackling echoes of a Raiton technique reaching the Kiri Jounin’s ears as she came within striking range of the dome… and, in burst of speed, she drew her weapon, focusing Fuuton chakra down the length of the blade in a thin line that flew out in a wide, horizontally arcing slash meant to cut anyone and anything down that was even a little bit outside of the dome.

"Kaze Wo Kitte."

Jutsu/SA's/Equipment Used
Jutsu:
NAME: Kaze Wo Kitte [Cutting Wind]
RANK: A
CHAKRA USAGE: Medium
CLASSIFICATION: Kenjutsu
ELEMENT: Wind
DESCRIPTION: For this move, wind chakra is concentrated on the very edge of the blade, honing it and increasing its cutting power many, many times. This jutsu requires constant chakra feed to keep up, but with it, even a simple metal blade can slice through things as hard as diamond. The wind 'edge' however, is not static, and it can be released forward, in a ranged attack, but will travel only up to 20 meters before its cutting power is greatly reduced, and the blade itself vanishes after traveling 50 meters.

Special Abilities:
The Kunoichi That Goes On And On And On… [Endurance SA]
Perhaps part of her genetics or simply a random quirk of fate, Sora is unnaturally resilient, be it to physical pain or the toils of extended combat. While most Shinobi would collapse in exhaustion at having used all but the smallest sliver of their chakra reserves, she pushes on; while most Shinobi would wilt beneath the weight of sleepless night after sleepless night, she keeps going. This does not mean she does not feel pain/the strain of extended combat, but rather that her threshold for shutting down because of it is far higher than others. To give an example, if she were to be stabbed through her abdomen, she would still feel the pain of the injury, and it would hinder her ability to move/act, but it wouldn’t stop her, whereas a normal ninja might freeze up or shut down from the pain.

Bet You Didn’t See That Coming [Speed SA]
A byproduct of her enhanced endurance, Sora (despite what many would think) dislikes being injured- and with that dislike comes the intense desire to avoid getting hurt, a desire that has pushed her to hone her body until it could move faster than most others of her rank. In short, Sora is fast- very, very fast.

POWAH! UNLIMITED POWAH!! [Chakra Reserves SA]
After a lifetime of utilizing nearly every ounce of chakra in her body just to survive, Sora’s chakra reserves have expanded a considerable amount to compensate- while she’s no Jinchuuriki, her ability to toss out jutsu after jutsu and still have enough chakra to keep going is quite remarkable, a testament to just how much of the stuff she actually has.

I Am Not Left-Handed [Kenjutsu Mastery SA]
Sora is not merely a Kenjutsu specialist- she is a master when it comes to the art of the sword; after over two decades of training, her skills are unrivaled within Kirigakure, falling short only to the Seven Swordsman themselves… some of them, anyway. This mastery allows her a distinct advantage when fighting other Bukijutsu specialists of similar or lesser rank.

If You Try For Speed, You Do Not Achieve Speed [Bukijutsu Speed SA]
Beyond being a master of Kenjutsu, Sora has practiced for decades to become the faster swordswoman she can be. As such, her Kenjutsu techniques come out faster and move quicker than those performed by others of her rank.

Equipment: Samidare | Spring Rain Blade (Drawn)
SA’s
Unbreakable
Whatever metal and forging process was used in the creation of Samidare, it worked; Samidare is utterly unbreakable by most any means, capable of being engulfed in an S-Rank Jutsu and remaining unscathed. Though it is possible that the blade could potentially be broken by a sufficiently powerful attack (such as, say, a Bijuu-dama), this has never been tested, so it is not known if it would survive.

Sharper Than Your Average Blade
Due to its nature as an unbreakable blade, Samidare bears a cutting edge that is of particular note, which allows it to slice through even steel with little in the way of resistance, so long as the proper force is applied. Additionally, this edge never needs to be resharpened, as it never grows dull or rolls, thus making it perfect for frontline combat.

Light as Spring Rain
Perhaps a quirk of its forging (or perhaps an intentional feature), Samidare is considerably lighter than a blade its size and length ought to be; while this would normally result in a less effective weapon, Samidare loses none of its integrity or cutting power, as it is somehow able to leverage the same amount of force through less mass. This lightness allows the user to swing the weapon about with much greater speed for the same amount of physical exertion.

Chakra Conduction
Being Chakra Conductive, Samidare is capable of channeling all types of Chakra for use in Bukijustu, and, more particularly, it has a slight affinity for Raiton chakra thanks to Sora’s constant use of the blade for that purpose. This affinity does not do anything of real note, but it does feel as if the blade were more eager to drink in Raiton Chakra than other types.

It would not be as simple a fight for them, Sora spoke and giving the recipient the tiniest flash of opportunity to give their fellow criminals a chance to fend for themselves. "Duck!" The burly one spoke harshly, before he ceased to have the upper third half of his body. Taking with him - one person who would be immediately out of the fight on account of falling backward and being diagonally removed from armpit to collarbone on one side, and another who had just simply not ducked in time.

Seven, whittled to four. From the now half-cocooned and broken barrier that could not sustain its own weight, light would re-emerge from the inside as a glob of Raiton was spat out, and up at Sora - from a crouched position, a Shinobi with long hair that was waiting to see how Sora fared first before reacting. "Formation 3!" One of them shouted, and the next set of issues would break loose.

A rising sweep of noise would be the next thing to worry them. While the Shinobi themselves quickly took care of it. A whistle that would be a Genjutsu: not that Hotarubi would know this but it might have fallen within the realms of Sora's knowledge.

The remaining two, however remained within the confines of the dome and though it was breaking apart: was very much a space for them to hide within to give them opportunity to get their bearings as they hid behind their counterparts.

Jutsu Used:
Shinobi 1:

NAME: Itai Kanetsuki no Jutsu [Painful Ringing Technique]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: To Use: Low | To Maintain: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
TRIGGER: Auditory
DESCRIPTION:
A technique that serves as a wonderful distraction or crippling attack. This technique causes the target to hear a high pitched tone in their ear, it being so painful that most targets claw at their ears. The technique is initiated through the audio cue of a whistle going from low to high. Due to this, many individuals have mistaken this technique for sound ninjutsu.

Shinobi 2, 3 & 4

NAME: Kai [Release]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low- High Depending on the rank of the genjutsu
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu [General]
ELEMENT: None
HANDSEALS: 1
DESCRIPTION:
Kai is a technique invented to counteract the targeting of Genjutsu, working by halting one's chakra flow with a hand seal before drastically increasing the rate of chakra flow within oneself, forcing the opposing chakra out of the body. This can also be used on another person by manually forcing a surge of chakra into their body through direct contact, breaking them of their mesmerized state. One's skill to break an illusion depends on their skill and understanding of Genjutsu, as some may prove too powerful to escape by conventional means.

Shinobi 2 Only:

NAME: Raiton: Hibana Gobu [Lightning Release: Shock Gob]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: Low
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu
ELEMENT: Raiton
DESCRIPTION:
A simple technique, the user focuses chakra directly into their mouth, imbuing it into their saliva. By spitting out the saliva, a powerful gob of electricity is ejected, capable of blinding opponents if pat into or near the eyes, while dealing some minor shocking damage. Otherwise, it just causes a shock to the body, which can cause muscles to seize up, causing them to lose the use of the area hit for a couple seconds. The techniques range is limited to how far the user can spit, making it more of a surprise attack than anything.

Sora would do the next job, and one that was actually really interesting as Hotarubi watched on - she would be interested in her own devices. As the Raiton was spat out, Hotarubi saw the light and gave himself ample room between it and the projectile though it wasn't aimed for him. Should he attack next? Well that was what he readied to do as he saw the swordsman in action until the noise came. A whistle:

Hotarubi clutched at his ears, grunting with pain - actual pain - not one that could be regenerated as the noise reverberated in his head. It was a new sensation, one that he had not yet dealt with in a capacity - not at least as offensive technique went. Was Sound ninjutsu really that powerful? He didn't have human ears! There weren't eardrums to destroy!

In the growing pain in his ear, he would have but a few seconds to cast his own - slamming his hand into the ground- with it he would use his own doton chakra to keep the formation of a boulder, and pulled it from the ground to throw at them.

But, unfortunately for Sora, he was less concerned about her positioning than he was his own - the pain was growing much worse and he began to put a hand to his ear, unsure of how else to deal with this at this time.

Sora Minami Avatar

age 33 years old birthday December 23rd rank Jounin occupation Genin Team 1 Leader
When the glob of Raiton shot out from the (now crumbling) dome of earth, Sora didn’t think; she simply reacted, chakra flowing through Samidare as she twisted her wrists, flicking the blade up in order to bring the cutting edge to bear against the Raiton blob that had been spat into her face. Her blade shone with chakra, forming an edge of raw, natural blue that cleaved the enemy bandit’s attack in half, sending it spiraling harmlessly to either side of her. Those who had survived her first cut scattered, one of them whistling from low to high as they shouted out orders- but there was no time to think about that, no time to marvel at how organized and efficient their response was, because pain.

The shrill whistle became louder and louder, piercing her ears with its overwhelming intensity, the sheer force of the noise making the pink-haired Jounin gasp… and immediately knew what she had to do. Without hesitation, she brought her hands together in a single seal, forcing her chakra outward and cycling her coils in order to shatter the Genjutsu before it could seriously debilitate her. Going to have to thank Amaya for all the practice breaking out of Genjutsu.

Sora glanced behind her as she leapt back, landing on a tree branch; her partner seemed to be handling the enemy’s technique poorly, clutching one of his ears even as he drew up a massive boulder from the ground and threw it in the generally right direction. Generally, but not specifically, as she was rather unfortunately still in the path of his projectile, and had four rather angry individuals to deal with on top of that.

"Tch. Kids." The Jounin mumbled, pouring Fuuton chakra into her feet and bending her knees, leg muscles flexing for the briefest of moments before she leapt up over the top of the forest’s canopy, her jump’s longevity greatly enhanced by the Wind Walk technique. At the same time, she brought her hands together, forming a single hand seal that summoned a pair of Shadow Clones: one fell back, using the height she had gained to move towards Hotarubi with the intention of breaking the boy out of the Genjutsu, while the other formed beneath her feet, acting as a brief, fleeting platform to push off of as she hefted Samidare aloft, pouring Raiton chakra into the weapon.

Soon, however, gravity took hold, and Sora began to drop towards the forest below… but the half second break was all she needed. Her blade crackled with Raiton chakra, the entire length of it packed to the brim as she fell towards the ground, cross the canopy- and, with a single, horizontal swing, she unleashed her third A ranked jutsu in less than a minute, flinging a massive, crackling cut of electricity down at the foes below her in an indiscriminate blast of raw power.

"Samidaregiri!"

Jutsu/SA's/Equipment Used
Jutsu:
NAME: Ittoryu: Kiretsu [One Sword Style: Crack]
RANK: A
CHAKRA USAGE: Medium
CLASSIFICATION: Bukijutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
DESCRIPTION: A unique variant of the Saaberu no Jutsu, Kiretsu is a Jutsu based around a singular idea- to cut through even the most ethereal of Jutsu, splitting it in half and therefore keeping it away from the user. This is achieved by coating their blade in chakra, which is then honed into a razor point, capable of slicing through Jutsu such as Katon: Endan or Raiton: Gian without bringing the user to any harm.

As a rule, this Jutsu costs an amount of Chakra equal to one level higher than the Jutsu that is being cut/split (so a Jutsu that uses a Medium amount would take a High amount to split, while one that costs High would cost Very High to split), and cannot be used at range. Additionally, Jutsu designed to be explicitly defensive in nature (such as the various elemental armors) are significantly more resilient to being split, making this Jutsu ineffective at piercing their defenses.

NAME: Kazesanpo [Wind walk]
RANK: B
CHAKRA USAGE: Low
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu
ELEMENT: Wind
DESCRIPTION: The blade is only as deadly as its reach, so maneuvering around the battlefield is important to a swordsman, in order to get close to the target, or avoid attacks. By channeling wind chakra into their feet, the user is able to swiftly run, so quickly that to the naked eye it seems like a blur.

NAME: Ittoryu: Samidaregiri [One Sword Style: Spring Rain Cutter]
RANK: A
CHAKRA USAGE: High
CLASSIFICATION: Kenjutsu
ELEMENT: Raiton
HANDSEALS: N/a
RESTRICTIONS: Must know Saber Jutsu; Must have Chakra Conductive/Raiton Reactive Blade
DESCRIPTION: A unique variant of the Sabre Jutsu developed by a past user of Samidare Samidaregiri works by flooding Samidare with Raiton-nature chakra, which is then unleashed when the user swings the blade, exploding out it in a "cut” that follows the arc of her slash, but with vastly increased range and intense destructive power, as the "cut” is made of pure Raiton chakra and not only cut, but burns and shocks as well. Destructively speaking, Samidaregiri is capable of carving a large, scorched gouge in thick plates of steel.

This is not to say Samidaregiri is a perfect jutsu; it takes a good few seconds to charge the blade with sufficient chakra and, should the user somehow fail to unleash the cut after charging the blade to full, it will erupt upon them instead of their enemy, essentially making this technique almost as dangerous for the user as it is for their enemy. These cuts have an effective range of roughly 15m.

It was fair to assume that while Sora was making her movements, that they would be doing their own. Seeing that the projectile had not worked but the Genjutsu had started and they had already cancelled it themselves, they would set into their own action. Sora was fast, though - the two that had sat beyond the Raiton toting user would dive out of the way of the thrown boulder, and they were already waning in numbers.

Between Hotarubi's attack, and they all geared up to move into another set of attacks when they saw the cackle and flash of raiton - and sought to dive yet a second time. However: their moist, wet environment and conductivity were perfect opportunities being taken advantage of. The remaining four: downed. One.. as it would become apparent, the other Raiton user (Formerly) had soaked up much of the damage: given their blackened skin.

However poor it reflected on the Chunin - he was having a very different experience. Hotarubi did not have the same experience as she when it came to Genjutsu and what became one handed, would become both of his hands clutching at his ears. "Fucking $*£*&$!" Hotarubi screamed, pulling at his ears enough that the rock would fly off them as he scraped - ajar. He wanted to break off his own earthen head so he didn't have to deal with this shit.

So he was sort of standing there, vertigo kicking in a bit as the noise was just - super painful. It didn't stop his other perceptions though: seeing Sora create clones and then landing behind him, she didn't seem effected (which was neat to know, if they made it out of this safely) - was she wearing earplugs? Some sort of safety equipment? One of them was running interference for Hotarubi and he let himself be pulled back, only: a flush of chakra and there - it was gone.

Literally one second there: the next.... just gone. He still hadn't yet pieced together the use of Genjutsu. Flicking back to their fight - she had... well. Dealt with them in a frightening sort of efficiency, one was charred - it smelled awful. The two that had dived and not been connected to the floor on the other hand were convulsing. Hotarubi stormed over, knowing that only ... well. Two of them were needed: and there were three. He stomped over, leaving gash marks of mud in the earth - through the water born floor and stomped on one of their chests, with his foot ending up through the other side and into the mud.

His face was like thunder. "What the fuck was that?" Rather than saying thank you - or sorry for being useless, he was concerned at how it had taken place. It wasn't a sound ninjutsu as he had initially thought.

And just like that, they crumbled. Her Samidaregiri cut a deep, blackened gouge into the muddy earth, spraying up bits of dirt and steaming the thick, viscous mud into a hard, almost brittle clay that cracked as she landed on it in a spiderweb of splintery pieces. Her clone, for what it was worth, had done its job and dispersed, leaving the boy to his own devices as she dealt with the bandits… and boy, had she dealt with them. Out of seven, only three remained; three had been cut down by her initial attack, with one more dying to her Raiton cut, and the remaining three caught by the electric shock, convulsing on the ground, gasping for breath.

"Genjutsu." Sora said calmly, sheathing her blade with customary carefulness, not looking at her actions yet moving with such precision that every action was perfectly aligned with the next. Sky-blue eyes lingered on the corpse that Hotarubi had left in his wake; she was not a simpering child, unable to stomach the sight of blood, but the way the boy had stomped a literal hole through the bandit’s chest had her… concerned. There was just a tad too little care, a tad too much viciousness, a tad too short a pause between his foot smashing through the man’s chest and him turning to her, rage and violence in his eyes.

Yeah, she was going to have to watch out for this one.

"One of the Genin specializes in auditory Genjutsu, so it wasn’t too hard for me to figure it out." She said, glancing at the two remaining bandits, who were slumped in the mud, breathing in short, gasping heaves that shook their whole body. The Kiri Jounin had no real idea what they were looking for, but she knew enough about interrogation to get the process going. "So. Which one of you two is gonna tell us what we want to know… and which one of you wants to help me test if my sword needs to be sharpened?"

Two left. That was all they needed as he turned - foot still inside the carcass. His face softened a bit. "Right." And he looked down at what he'd done, but didn't seem remorseful as he stepped out and over it, cleaning his foot in the half water/mud combination.

The two others, the remaining alive ones were spasming - muscles chittering uncontrollably as one tried to come up to their knees like a child who first learned how to walk. Genjutsu. Fucking wasteful. What truly upset him was that he had absolutely no idea - not too long ago he'd figured out of Genjutsu ever being a thing, and ... how dangerous it was. Had she not broken him out? Hotarubi would've had no idea what to do. If it would have continued, the man would have likely bashed his own head against something until it broke off, and that still wouldn't have worked. They actually didn't need any convincing as one raised their palm at Sora, a 'stop, give me a moment,'

"Nah fuck that," Hotarubi would step toward one of them, pulling the man up - perhaps worrying Sora in the mean time as they were lifted off their feet. And using his opposite hand would pull back some of their fingers, breaking them all too easily and causing a cry of pain. "Start talking. I have no time for this. Sons of the dragons. Who's the leader?" They would look at Sora- not giving pause to Hotarubi though fear did seem to be there. "Please, we'll talk- just get this dog off us-" Hotarubi would drop the man, crossing his arms.

He'd already pre-positioned icicles of earth beneath them. If they didn't talk, and quickly: they would find their ass and mouth obstructed by a spike riding through them. Hotarubi would look back at Sora. He wasn't completely without regard, but he didn't move out of the way. Towering over them, Hotarubi remained stalwart. "Well?"
