APPEARANCE

HEIGHT: 5'11" / 180cm

Tall, curvy, supple. A little uncanny. Almost nonhuman; sharp teeth, sharp ears, sharp eyes, a slitted tongue. Fujitahime looks a little too perfect. Look closer, and you notice her gaunt skin, her tired eyes, her boney features. Regardless, Fujitahime is gorgeous, even dangerously so. Her long hair falls in long layers to just under her large bosom, but when she ties the forest locks into braids they sit atop instead. Hooded, fiery eyes sit beneath an uneven green fringe.

Fujitahime adorns herself with luxuries and revealing garments, wearing lots of autumn colors - particularly red or gold. She prefers oversized, furry coats that match her ensembles. Despite how much skin is on display, Fujitahime is prepared with ample tight, black coverage under added fishnet mesh. She wears her red-cloth Kusagakure hitai-ate tagged to her hip, tied around her throat or hides it completely.

Signature to her ensemble always, Fujitahime wears a crown upon her head. It is garnished with a red hibiscus flower, gold baubles and trinkets, and two giant red ram's horns topped with gold rings at the tips coming up around her temples. Two gold, long dangling earrings hang from beneath her hair.

PERSONALITY

NINDO: Pruning makes room for growth.

Not only is Fujitahime poised and somewhat regal, she is also slinky, shady, snakelike. Her eyes are narrow and follow the world around her, slow and observing - it's easy for her to see through it and its inhabitants. Or at the very least, she thinks she has this omnipotent rule over her reality. Only she is cynical, jaded, slow to expect good in people. Fujitahime is an untrusting, cold and scaly woman with hedonistic, capricious moodswings. As untrusting as she is, perhaps she is equally as untrustworthy.

At her core, Fujitahime is. To say the least. Troubled. Since she was young, there has been the overwhelming presence of something looming over her. This something urges her with impure ideations, acting as an intense voice given to intrusive thoughts. Or, as she interprets it, voices of the dead, of gods, of deities, of ancestors. Of the minds of those around her. But Fujitahime is practiced in ignoring these thoughts, of living normally, of presenting as someone who is not batshit insane. Which she isn't. Definitely.

Also, Fujitahime reads tarot cards.

None of this is to suggest Fujitahime is unhinged. She is a normal, simple woman who likes reading, late night walks, fine dining, and the occasional tale of agony and woe. But really, she is otherwise grounded, intelligent, strong and sophisticated. She is a good kunoichi, and loyal to her village. Fujitahime is competent, and in her position for a reason - her knowledge of chakra and clans, her expertise in Genjutsu and her ability to work professionally, and to teach exceptionally, all boast her position as Jounin. And she is kind, even if it is filthily so, as well as nurturing and caring. She is particularly fond of shaping the youth of tomorrow, working hard to ensure her fledglings might grow up to wrestle the village into further competence. After all, she only wants to press Kusagakure safely beneath her thumb.

HISTORY

[past - 997]
Hirawa Nuuime was young when she fell in love with her sensei - a Nakahara man leading her genin team. She was only a little bit older when he, a married man with children of his own, had an affair with her. Not much older then when she conceived twins.

Fujitahime consumes her twin in the womb.

[997 - 1009]
When Fujitahime is born, her biological father wants nothing to do with her for fear of his wife discovering his infidelity. Nuuime, enraged by her lover's new aversion to her and now their daughter, demands that Fujitahime have the Nakahara name. When he refuses, she presses that Fujitahime at least receive training in the arts of the clan.

He agrees, but only because she uses their affair as black mail.

Nuuime lives semi peacefully as an ex mistress raising a daughter on her own. She is not an unkind mother, but she is so young and unbefit for motherhood that it's exceedingly easy for her to make mistakes along the way.

Fujitahime is nine when her biological father sends a close friend, Tekahashu Hidoi, in his place to teach her of the Nakahara techniques. Fujitahime has been smoking Nakahara herbs since she was nine. Though he is not a Nakahara himself, Hidoi is skilled in passing on these abilities. 

Surprisingly, Hidoi and Nuuime fall in love. It is only a year before they conceive Fujitahime's first pair of half-siblings: Sutekina and Shin'airu, her brother and sister. The twins are the first of many siblings, and the first instance of her parents shouldering all their homely responsibilities onto Fujitahime. Two years later, Birahime is born. In what little spare time she has, Fujitahime trains Nakahara and genjutsu, and reads various academy texts despite not being in school. Two more years later, twins Yugana and Megumi are born.

Twelve now, Fujitahime drowns in keeping her family floating. It seemed Hidoi only had time to breed his wife and be away on mission, and Nuuime only had enough time to be bred and work in the hospital. Fujitahime tends to her young siblings, cooks and cleans, and finally makes room to join the academy.

[1010 - 1016]
Fujitahime begins hearing voices.

In the beginning, they are small. They say her name, whisper her to sleep, suggest tiny details that aren't real. They put thoughts of distrust within her. She tells nobody about the voices.

Fujitahime struggles in the academy. Both academically and socially. She's not exactly outcast, but she isn't regarded with much pleasantry either. She floats like a ghost through her four years in school, all while juggling home life among her duties. When her graduation exam comes and goes, there is some discussion of having her go through another year. It is her biological, Nakahara father who vouches for Fujitahime. She passes by the skin of her teeth thanks to her father, yet he still extends no relationship to her. In fact, in exchange for his good word, he asks that she not contact him again.

Freshly graduated at sixteen, Fujitahime moves out of her family home much to their chagrin. Without her, the next oldest are put in charge. Fujitahime can not let it get her down - so she doesn't! She lives hedonistically, abusing Nakahara drugs and alcohol for some time after. She lives recklessly and takes too many risks - ending up with a surprise pregnancy at eighteen.

The voices grow louder, harsher, crueler. They tell her this baby will die.

They are right. 

Fujitahime's miscarriage scars and depresses her. For a little while, she is miserable - instead of dumping her woes into drugs and alcohol and sex, this time she takes to training, to missions. To her duties.

Through her tragedies, there is Kagami - a fellow kunoichi on her own Genin Team 7. Kagami is gentle, nurturing, sweet. Easy to fall in love with. It is with Kagami that Fujitahime finds some semblance of peace, of stability. With Kagami, Fujitahime sees a future. On top of training as a genin team under their respective sensei and alongside their third teammate, Fujitahime and Kagami explore the ninja and romantic world together. 

If it were not for Kagami, Fujitahime would have suffered the same fate as their third during their chuunin exams. Hiro died because neither of his teammates could save him. Passing the exam into a new rank was drenched in the blood of an old friend, tainted by tragedy. Strangely enough, at nineteen and now a chuunin, Fujitahime does not grieve for this old friend. Instead, she contemplates death for the first time.

The voices grow vicious and angry.

[1017 - 1021]
As chuunin, Fujitahime and Kagami excel in their realms. Very quickly they begin working closely together behind the scenes of the village. But as their status ascends, so do certain suspicions about Fujitahime and her use of a kiseru pipes and jutsu that comes with smoking Nakahara flower, despite not carrying the name. Talk of who her father might be spike up around the village, but all rumors die to whispers eventually.

And as her status grows, so do intrusive thoughts and shrill voices from the back of her head. Fujitahime pours every part of herself into her duties, and into Kagami. For a long time, Kagami is there with her - even through their promotion to special jounin somewhere in their early twenties. But after a time, Fujitahime grew a bit too intense. Frankly, she scared the woman - and so Fujitahime loses her lover and gains a new heartbreak. 

With nothing left to look forward to and nothing to lose, Fujitahime's life revolves around the village, her duties, and her rank. And with heartbreak came open the dams holding back the ocean of her macabre mind. She begins giving into the gnarly voices, listening to them and deciphering them intently, even if still refusing to act on their more unlawful suggestions. Delving into the different religions of the world, it's around now she names some of these voices. Rather, they name themselves - specifically, Fujitahime claims to hear the voices of Jashin and Shuenīrī calling to her, beckoning her to devote herself. But she thinks religion is restrictive, and so claims to defy the gods themselves. It is around now that Fujitahime begins dabbling in the reading art of tarot, relying on a gold-edged black card deck. These are her only hobbies outside of dedicating herself to Kusagakure.

As a "stable" member of the village proving such a valuable asset to it, she is elected as a candidate for jounin. First, she is delegated a genin team.

[1022 - present]
In only a year, Fujitahime's team climbs the shinobi ladder. Fujitahime volunteers her team to the chuunin exams. Somewhere, there is a latent fear there, and for a period she wonders how her sensei felt when Hiro died during the exams. But she did not worry that her fledglings may suffer the same fate - she had faith in not only them, but her training as well. 

As anticipated, her team survived - and passed!

A day before her twenty-sixth birthday, Fujitahime is promoted to Jounin. Given her success with the first team, she has been appointed a new team.

FIGHTING STYLE

Coupling both her alluring approach and clouds of smoke, Fujitahime specializes in confusing, disorienting, intoxicating and seducing her opponents. Despite the vivid thoughts and voices directing her otherwise, Fujitahime isn't quick at attempting to inflict lethal damage. Instead she is better at stalling, or supporting teammates - but when she has to be, Fujitahime is ruthless and methodical in a deadly approach.

Though she feigns long distance fighting focused on Genjutsu, Fujitahime is a heavy hitter and packs a powerful punch. She has a deadly strike should she get close enough. Her aim is typically the body, knowing that a blow to a target's head could be lethal - usually, she is attempting to down her opponent and gain a literal upper hand. 

Fujitahime is horrible in the art of Bukijutsu and suffers at the end of a blade. She can at least utilize projectile weapons and work out the defensive semi-proficiently, but it is done with begrudging stiffness. Within her affinity for smoke and glamour, Fujitahime has a glaring weakness to both fuuton and a steeled mind.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Verdant Haze
Well trained in botany, Fujitahime has a vast knowledge of plants and herbs. She has an especially intimate relationship with the different Nakahara plants and their applications to the senses, and furthermore their application to genjutsu. Unlocks ability to use smoke based clan ninjutsu and genjutsu.

Enhnaced Chakra Control
Over the years, Fujitahime has worked hard at refining her chakra manipulation skills. Though she was not immediately adept with it, she has since trained long enough to boast an impressive control over her chakra. 

Sensor
Because she is so in tune with her chakra, Fujitahime's expertise extends outwards. As such, she can feel out the world relative to her chakra. Passively, she can observe outward in a 400m radius. If she concentrates her chakra, she can see as far as 2km.

Lingering Genjutsu
Fujitahime possesses the ability to queue up her Genjutsu with the use of precise chakra manipulation. She can set a trap in which when a target dispels the first casted jutsu, a second will trigger immediately. Fujitahime can queue up to A rank Genjutsu.

Enhanced Strength
Even though her chakra pool is not nearly as impressive as her control of it, it's that very control which manifests Fujitahime's chakra as steel in her core. Packing chakra into her muscles,, Fujitahime's strength is above average and can not only devastate a human body, but some physical constructs as well. Things that should be heavy are a touch lighter for Fujitahime.

Hi Marz,

One thing that stands out is that your strength SA reads like a pseudo Chakra Enhanced Strength, rather than a regular strength SA. Could you rephrase that to indicate something regarding her training or some other method is responsible for that, instead of due to chakra control.

You cannot. Chakra enhanced strength is a limited A rank jutsu available only to medics or tai specs. You're going to need to go with regular strength, not Tsunade-level strength.

Additionally, I've done some digging regarding the history you've written up, and there are some issues that was pointed out:

• The Nakahara WOULD get involved one way or another and be opened into the larger clan as a whole. Her father likely outed publically among members for infidelity and for breaking the serenity that the Nakahara try to live their lives by. Disloyalty to one’s spouse is not looked kindly on by those who value peace in all aspects of life.
• How she was trained and when would have likely been at a much younger age. Keep in mind that the Nakahara are not blue blood scions they are farmers and horticulturalists the majority of them farm crops for 90% of their lives and they have zero real power to sway around the village past conviction and general connections if they pursued the paths to power in Nohara.
• An outsider teaching the jutsu and supplying her under the table is more or less impossible as the clan makes it very clear - without Nakahara blood and knowledge these plants just dont grow at all and an outsider absolutely would not be able to do this. Which links back that the clan WOULD be involved in this in some fashion
• While the Nakahara do produce drugs of the psycho-impairing variety they don’t actually brew alcohol. Id remove that mention.

Additionally, the history itself is a little hard to read, it would be helpful if you could give it another once over to make it easier to follow. I had to read it a couple of times to get everything out of it.
