If Chisai had some doubts on Raika's abilities, then they died as she saw the technique that she employed. A part of her had been surprised as the girl had begun to spin, in fact the Lioness could say that she had found the decision strange but as soon as she felt the shockwave against her and flew, then she realized that she had been an frontline witness of perhaps one of the most special techniques she had ever seen, indeed experienced. It was as if she had been buffeted away by a divine presence and the blonde could simply fly through the air.

Recomposing herself during midflight, bringing her knees to her chest before she would land, her boots touching the crunching soil before she would stop from the momentum that she had created, eyes looking at the dome of energy that the Hyuga had conjured and her mind raising to the idea of having to defeat seemingly unconquerable defense. She didn't have anything that she could say would defeat that and leave Raika unharmed.

"That's a nice technique." The Lioness would say, a smile perching on her lips before she would weave a set of hand signs, drawing in the cold air of the early morning before she could taste ash in her breath. A plume of smoke escaped her lips, as burning ash would wash around the portion of the training yard they took over. She didn't think that this would deter her, merely it was an annoyance that she thought could give her time, at the very it might just sting the Hyuga's eyes after all, the blonde thought.

DESCRIPTION:
The user molds Katon chakra before exhaling a large cloud of ash from their mouths that spreads outwards in a ten meter radius. The ash can sting if it gets in a person's eyes, but the true purpose of this technique is to create a smokescreen that blinds enemies, allowing the user to hide or escape.

Raika feels pretty proud of herself even before the legendary ninja gives her some praise, and it seems like Chisai is unable to do much against her clan's own impressive defensive technique. It really was a shame that it was possibly the strongest defensive jutsu she has, because she usually prefers to stay on the offensive the entire time, driving her opponents to either back down or surrender. It was how she had worked in Kawa, and it was what she thought was the most effective method of defense; an unrelenting offensive. Then again, she's starting to think that perhaps even defenses could be used offensively... For instance, if she'd caught Chisai between a rock and the dome - between a rock and a hard place, as it were - she might have caused significantly more damage than most. It would be something to consider sometime.

For now, she gets to enjoy a bit of delight at being told that it was a nice technique, and she smiles back right before Chisai lets loose a string of handseals and breathes in. The Hyuuga watches chakra flooding through her body as the jutsu activates, and she wonders just what the technique might be just before a billowing gust of gray particulate is expelled from her mouth. Raika frowns, but she remembers that her Byakugan will be able to see through her own eyelids to keep track of what's going on around her; she tightly squeezes her eyelids down to try and keep out as much of that hot ash as possible, focusing intently on any large grouping of chakra. It would have to be particularly dense to be able to hide the legendary kunoichi with what felt like an ocean of chakra compressed into a single comparatively small body.

"There!"

Turning towards the most dense grouping of chakra, Raika makes use of a much smaller burst of chakra than the one she'd used for the Revolving Heaven technique, though the expulsion of chakra is still hard and strong enough to blast away some of the ash surrounding her, dispersing it with a stunning shockwave that extends to the full distance of the trigrams that the Genin keeps track of with her Byakugan. She's not entirely sure if the sudden explosion of chakra had been able to catch Chisai, or if the thick grouping of chakra had actually been the legendary shinobi, but regardless, the ash cloud was probably just as dangerous for Chisai if she didn't escape herself. That said, Raika was beginning to tire from the usage of chakra in such a short period of time, panting a bit from the work of it all.

Using the area of the Eight Trigrams, the user expands the chakra from their tenketsus to stun the opponents for a brief moment, enough for the Hyuuga to deliver several palm strikes aiming at their vulnerable organs. It can be used against multiple opponents, as long as they are within the area of the Trigrams. If hit by this technique the targets are stunned for 1 rotation.

He didn't think that the attack would stop her, but it had bought her time that she intended to use. The blonde weaved her hands together, signs as chakra began to mix within her as her body began to irradiate a heat more intense that the burning ash that she had created. The soil around her boots began to vitrify, cracks shattered the stone as heat began to raise around her and as the young Hyuga would begin her strike towards her, instead a column of melting rock emerged like a geyser, engulfing the lioness and seemingly swallowing the shape of the kunoichi as the geyser died down.

Suddenly another geyser would emerge behind the Hyuga, heat searing the very air, the blonde emerging, a beautiful vision from the depths of hell in midflight, shrouded in burning ash and holy flame. Her fingers extending as rather than use any of the techniques afforded by the arcane alchemy of her blood. She aimed at the shoulder of the younger woman, measuring her strength as she aimed, taking painful steps to keep her strength in check and then she would release her strike.

The Lioness' arm would swing towards the shoulder of the young woman's, fingers seeking to just merely hurt and incapacitate rather than to actually cripple, ensuring that at the very least it was something that a medic could mend before the exams began. It was, after all the least that she owed Raika in this.

DESCRIPTION:
Forming their hand into a four fingered nukite the user will bring their hand down in a hard chop against their opponent’s shoulders or arms with enough force to break and bruise bone. Used to disable the opponent’s arms, the user can also attack the neck for a quick removal of a threat. Those with enough strength can actually use the move to sheer parts of their opponent off.

DESCRIPTION:
This technique operates as a advanced form of the body flicker technique. After performing the needed hand seals a small fissure quickly splits the ground under the user. A mass of lava emerges from the ground overtaking the user. Once the small scale eruption subsides another one occurs within ten meters away. This technique is normally used to flank an opponent or for evasive measures as the user emerges from the second fissure.

Raika can only barely follow the movements of Chisai through watching for the dense chakra to move, and is somewhat surprised to see it go blow the earth and then back up in a completely different spot, already clearly on the move by the time Raika has managed to turn her body to face the attack directly. With the smoky air and the exertion sneaking up on her just as much as Chisai is with her surprise flanking attack, the Hyuuga realizes she's starting to run out of time for the spar. While she's not really able to physically deflect the blow, she decides to do the next best thing; before the strike lands, she starts focusing healing chakra to the shoulder Chisai is aiming for, and instead uses the Jounin's own attack as an opening for a counterstrike.

Although there's no dulling the pain of the strike, her shoulder begins healing as soon as the fingers make contact, and she brings her other arm forwards in a strike aimed directly at the Lioness's stomach, foregoing her clan's specialized Taijutsu since she's not sure she could handle using chakra for both the self-healing as well as the chakra strike that would have ignored physical defenses. Instead, she's trying to hit the blonde's solar plexus, her eyes still closed to avoid being blinded by the smoke. It might be something of a surprise for Chisai to discover that the Byakugan can see through the Hyuuga's own eyelids as she feels her chakra draining to keep up with healing the damage done to her shoulder.

"Ungh... You got enough for that detailed assessment yet...?"

Raika disengages from the fight then, rotating her shoulder while her other arm holds her collarbone, acting like she's working off some minor muscle soreness when in actuality, she should have been more hurt than she actually was. Her new healing technique was actually working wonders, although she didn't think she could make much use of it in the Chuunin Exams. She didn't think she was actually good enough with it just yet.

DESCRIPTION:
A medical ninjutsu where one anticipates the spot the enemy will attack and pre-emptively applies medical treatment to it, reducing damage to a minimum. The user concentrates chakra to that area and begins the cell recreation process even before the targeted area becomes damaged. Using opponent's facial expression and movements, the technique's speed and power, the user analyses everything in an instant and accurately deduces where the attack will land. Even more than accurately predicting the attack or instantly gauging the situation, a great resilience is necessary.

The strikes were exchanged, her chop landing on on the shoulder whilst the Hyuga's hand would try to reach out to strike at her solar plexus. Her free hand came into move to block the path, the strike that the Hyuga had aimed would crash against the forged steel of the gauntlet about her hand, the momentum carrying her away as her feet would slide over the ash and gravel that they had created in their little spar. The ash began to scatter, fall down as the fight was ended as she watched Raika work through the injury with a feigned effort.

"Yes, yes." The Flame of the West said with laughter, hands on her hips, smile settling down on her lips. "You were great. You show a lot of promise." She said with honest behind her words. There was purpose behind her and a great skill that she was called to nurture into greater highs. "Konoha has a fine kunoichi with you for many years. There is some work to be done for sure, but you're a diamond in the rough." She said. It was after all something to be expected for someone that was a merely a Genin. She would need to take her time and expand her skills little by little.

"Now, you wanted to learn of the techniques that I was using?" The blonde mused. The truth behind it was more simply than she wanted to let on. "This style is called Tekken, to use it effectively you need to hone your body and each strike you must deliver nothing else but true force. I measured myself against you, the technique I used against you under normal circumstances would've shattered your shoulder, this can kill people and it will take much time to master fully, years even." She said, deciding not to mince words, coming in as a challenge for Raika to take head on rather than a warning to steer her away. "It requires sacrifice as well to maintain these levels, eating, training, this is constant." The blonde told her.

Raika breathes a sigh of relief, then coughs for a moment as she managed to breathe in a bit of ash, moving quickly out of the ash cloud until she can feel direct sunlight on her skin before she actually opens her eyes and deactivates the Byakugan. Now that the sparring is over, she winces as she rotates her shoulder some more; despite her healing herself as the strike came in, it had still caused some serious pain. She does enjoy the moment of praise she receives from the legendary shinobi, star-struck once more now that they're not actively sparring. Even despite the pain of the previous attacks, she was abuzz with excitement and delight at not only sparring with the legendary Flame of the West, but even getting praised for her combat ability. For a moment, the only sounds coming from her was a softly muffled squeal of excitement.

Then the conversation shifts over to the topic of learning this fighting style she was so enraptured with. She puts her awe to the side for a moment so she can focus on learning, though she can't help but to smirk a little when Chisai mentions how the style of Tekken, the Iron Fist, requires years to master, and those years must be filled with sacrifice, with constant training and careful diet. While Raika hadn't yet mastered the Jyuuken taijutsu style, she felt certain she could learn the other techniques within the style with just as much practice; she had the Byakugan to help her better understand the aspects for learning this Taijutsu style, both in careful observation of her mentor and comparing what she sees her sensei do with seeing the movements of her own body.

"You might find I'm a quick learner, even if it still takes years for me to master it!"

She clenches her fists, smiling excitedly at the knowledge that the attack Chisai had used, had it not been tempered with caution, could have broken her bones quite readily, and that this kunoichi was willing to teach her such a style.

"Surely you can teach me just a couple of techniques to start with! I'm more than willing to train hard to learn this style, especially when my mentor is the Flame of the West herself!"

Is this hero worship, or only a regular amount of excitement from Raika? With how excited she usually was, it would have been hard to tell. She was definitely outside of the norm compared to most other Hyuuga.

A quick giggle escapes her lips, a hand comes to cover them before the blonde settles. Chisai was appreciative of the compliments and kind words that the girl used to define her. In truth she had been seen by her kin and kith as many things. An avatar of war, a leader or even a golden goddess made flesh. But mentor had never been one of them. She had passed some of her acquired wisdom down to the next generations, carved stanzas of her deeds into the family saga, but never had she taken a disciple of her own in any way. She supposed this way was a start.

"You're very kind, Raika." The Lioness remarked. "And I'm sure you're a quick learner. I will teach you what I can for now. Perhaps in the future I can teach you more. We shall begin with the basics." The blonde said taking a step forward and showing her pupil one of her arms. "Tekken is a... direct and uncomplicated style of combat. There are no flourishes, no nuance that could be picked up. It is to the point and that point is to disable the enemy." Chisai explained as she would extend her fingers, tensing her muscles before driving them forward to the air as if she aimed at someone's throat and tried to end them.

"Your Hyuga clan traditions aim to disable the enemy internally, as you one by one remove the 'threads of the puppet' so to speak. Tekken is simply and purely, smashing said puppet. You take your inherent physical strength and transfer said energy to your foe. Your body must be strong to also endure the strikes. A hammer that break against the anvil of war has no use after all. You need to brace your body to dissipate the energy of your impact." Chisai says softly. This was the basics, the theory behind a method that was by far and large mostly practical, but it had a form to its chaos.

Raika's eyes widen as Chisai gets started with the explanation for learning to use the Tekken fighting style, though she's not quite certain just how useful such techniques will be in the coming Chuunin Exams. If it can help Chisai punch straight through a boulder and turn it to powder, there's no way it won't be super helpful if there's any combat involved, though. At least the style doesn't seem to be as carefully focused as the Gentle Fist, or at least focused in a different avenue. Their similarities were apparently not lost on Chisai, because she makes a comparison remark on how they differ: where the Hyuga's Gentle Fist effectively cuts off the chakra supply and thus render the person immobile or at the very least incapacitated, the Iron Fist apparently instead breaks the person apart to force them into an immobile state, incapacitating them by force rather than by the power of exhaustion.

The statement about learning to endure such harsh strikes doesn't really phase Raika all that much; she'd been beating down wooden training dummies to wood pulp ever since she had been abandoned by her clan in Kawa. The only reason she'd learned more of the Gentle Fist techniques since then was due to her return to Konoha after years left in the cannibalistic and rough village. She was familiar with the methods for avoiding causing pain to oneself through hard strikes, though her endurance wasn't too greatly enhanced.

"Mmmmm, I see. I think I should be able to handle it, as long as I keep my own limits for punishment in mind..."

She can't help but to smirk to herself just a little bit. After all, she'd just demonstrated one of the few techniques she'd learned from her medic-nin practice, that being a rare technique for flooding an area of her body with healing chakra before the strike lands; she feels certain that such a technique would be a fine replacement, although it might tire her out faster than if she were to train up her level of endurance to better match the toughness exhibited by Chisai. She'd have to work on that.

"I don't doubt your potential and your resilience." The blonde stated, crossing her arms before her chest. It was a very demanding style, even if there wasn't really much finesse to speak about, but it was very demanding on the body. Even with her level of mastery, Chisai needed to be aware enough to keep in mind the chances of having to deal with the expected recoil from the own techniques that she used. "I would be remiss of my own duties to to warn you about what are the inherent dangers. You must be sometimes above your own pain." The blonde explained.

"Wait here for a second." Chasai told the young Hyuga, looking for a midsize boulder among the rubble that she had made, something the size of her own head and a good way to start with one of the initial techniques from this particular style of jutsu. The blonde picked up two, carrying them on her shoulders before placing one before Raika and one before herself as an example as if it were child's play for her. "Your strike must be decisive." The Lioness explained as she measured the boulder with a sharp eye, fingers extending to form a four fingered nukite, before she would slash down and break the boulder in a single swipe, pebbles flying from the rupture rock.

"You can try if you want." She said, placing her hands on her hips as she awaited for Raika to follow suit her directions. "Do not be dissuaded if you don't see much damage. This is a slow progress and it will take time." The blonde said, with Raika's ability she did expect her to make small dents, cracks but nothing to destroy the rock outright. "Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and put all your strength into the strike."

Raika nods along with what Chisai is saying, though it might seem that she's not really understanding the importance of the lesson she's being taught at the moment. She'd felt pain before, quite often in fact, but she was unaware that Chisai was being quite serious in her statement about the inherent dangers of the technique. She'd seen the results and even felt them before she'd tried to use the style herself, thus likely blinding her to the dangers of it by making her focus on the benefits she believes she'll soon have with such a fighting style. That is, until Chisai walks away to grab up a couple of stones from the boulder she'd shattered with a single strike, giving Raika pause for a moment as she stares down at the rock in front of her, then at how easily Chisai had broken hers with a single strike.

Well, if the legendary shinobi could do it, Raika could at least try! She raises her arm in the same nukite form, all four fingers straight and her wrist locked and braced with her musculature before she brings her hand down on the rock harshly.

"Yowwwwwww!!"

The Hyuga pulls her hand back from the rock, which is showing a few cracks in its surface from where she hit it, using her own naturally improved strength as well as the weight of the Hung Gar rings, but she was also shaking her hand. Granted, while she watches, the knuckles seem to shift back into their rightful place almost immediately, since Raika is still flooding her hand with healing medical chakra before she even started the strike.

"Y'know, I'm always forgetting that the technique I use doesn't really stop the pain from hurting me, it just heals it faster..."

Raika sighs a bit as she looks down at the rock, focusing her attention on it as she tries again and again, striking it harder and harder as her bones reset, strengthened gradually and hardened to be able to strike with the force needed of the Iron Fist style without breaking more than the rock does. She's made a lot of progress by the time she stops, but the rock is still only halfway broken down.

"I will... think about what you've told me, mentor. And I will train as hard as I can to be able to get this technique down and make you proud."
