[attr="class","skullbody"]As the Chunin exams approached the girl needed to make certain that she was just as prepared as she needed to be, her accuracy trails were coming along quite well but with such fixation she was unable to test yet another hypothesis. And so on this cold winter morning she'd stand in the center of the training field looking over at the dummy in front of her and would funnel some of her chakra through her eyes and fire off a shot directly in the center of the target. "Checkmate!" the girl would say as she landed it directly in the center of the target, now its just a matter of if she could do it again.

The girl would take a moment to concentrate her chakra once more funneling it through her eyes and taking aim directly at the spot with which she had left and while the aim was nearly perfect she was off by just a slight centimeter. She'd ball her fist. "Nearly there..." for a moment she'd stand in the snow removing a small notebook from her back pocket to document her progress, however after doing so she'd look up finding that she wasn't alone, the squelching of boots on the snow.

She'd look over and spotting a whom she hadn't met she was a hulk of a woman much like her boss at the diplomacy corps but just who was she and what had she come to train. "Good morning!" she'd say as she looked over towards the woman, as she looked over her again she wondered something there was a feeling of familiarity about her. "Do I know you...Your Naida correct?"

Nashida is a bit surprised to see somebody else in the training field, as she normally thought she would be one of very few people that would willingly travel out into the snowfield, especially at these kinds of temperatures. But then again, like Jun, many other Yukigakure ninja often went about their day with additional clothing, enough to cover them and keep their body heat trapped. Nashida required nothing of the sort, as her body was resistant to the effects of cold temperatures, as well as high heat. As it is, she's just wearing her usual clothing, without the fur coat for once. After all, she needed to try and make something simple enough to at least pass as a Tantetsu adult in order to keep out of trouble of her clan. Instead, she's wearing a blue coat that looks quite militaristic, especially with its bright white trim. The silver fourragere around her right shoulder is actually visible, a rare sight for most. The Yukigakure headband around her forehead is only half-covered by her blonde hair that falls over her shoulders and her back, snow melting as soon as it makes contact with her.

"Good... morning."

It's gracefully hard to tell how disappointed she really is, since her face usually has a frown on it, but she really is quite unhappy that Jun did not correctly remember her name. Not that it wasn't expected; they hadn't even seen one another since the Academy, and it had only really been in passing. And Nashida is only sure of Jun's name because she was the sole Yukigakure representative going to the Chuunin Exams. Although the Tantetsu clan member wasn't participating herself, she was certainly interested in watching it happen, as she might learn something from it. As it is, she might as well correct Jun now, rather than later.

"It's Nashida, actually. What are you working on?"

Nashida's bright blue eyes, sharp as the sting of winter, stare hard at the training dummy on the other side of Jun, where part of it is almost certainly singed from the heat of some kind of technique. This was certainly interesting for Nashida, whose own skill in Koton wasn't really common knowledge. Not that she was trying to keep it hidden, but she wasn't really supposed to be using her clan's kekkei tota out in public when they hadn't officially recognized her as being an adult within the clan just yet.

However she would soon find herself embarrassed, for As Nashida made her way onto the field she would remarking that Jun had mistakenly mispronounced it, having only seen the girl in passing it would make sense that she'd make such a mistake as she corrected her a part of her mind would snap together.

"Ahh yes, my apologies." the girl would say as she took a gander at the woman's eyes as they scanned the piece of wood she'd been working on with her Fuinjutsu. "I'm attempting to practice my accuracy I've been recording the measurements to see just how far off of my mark I've gotten."

The girl would say as she approached it measuring it with a piece of shinobi wire. "And what brings you here...?" the girl would wonder as she looked over towards the taller woman curious as to what her training methods were as she was of all things, ever the scholarly and curious one.

Jun was known for her Fuinjutsu prowess even in the academy but became too reliant on it for a good deal of time whilst she was in the academy and made an effort to rectify that mistake by keeping herself balanced and more tactical and so she would often find herself carrying tools and learning how to make use of them rather creatively in order to find herself prepared for every possible scenario, the technique she had used may have been something that she might've seen her practice in the academy albeit to a much worse effect.

Nashida was a bit surprised that Jun was practicing her accuracy, and she looks back at the training dummy, at first seeing almost nothing wrong with how close together the scorch marks were, but she can see that there was a nearly imperceptible shift between some of the markings as she approached more closely. This was certainly somewhat odd for a person to feel that they were off the mark with such accuracy, but she supposes she can see where Jun is coming from with that desire for precision; at longer ranges, a centimeter of change here can become a meter of drift. Training for such distances wasn't unheard of, particularly with Yukigakure ninja, and she supposes it wasn't much different with the precision required for her own training.

"I've also come to train, as you might expect."

While most might have thought the question somewhat silly considering the training field was a particular area set aside for a particular purpose, Nashida did actually recognize it for what it was, but simply side-stepped the underlying question by answering rather flippantly. She knew that Jun was asking after what exactly she was training. While she'd shown skill in Ninjutsu in the Academy, she had also displayed quite an impressive amount of strength for basic Taijutsu and Bukijutsu, so Jun wouldn't know which of many paths she would have taken, or even if she'd taken all of them and become a jack of all trades. At the moment, she had come out to train her ability with Koton, and even taken the weapon pouch with her, as it was attached at her waist with the belt. She'd be able to reform any of her metal weapons into steel to use for further training with the kekkei tota, and could have even done something somewhat similar with silverware, if she needed to.

Well, Jun had answered honestly, so Nashida finally decides that it would be better for the both of them if she answered more altruistically.

"I've come out here to practice with my Tantetsu clan's kekkei tota, away from the unapproving eyes of my tutor."

[attr="class","skullbody"]The girl would the denote the reasoning that she had arrived at the field was to work on her Koton based techniques, hearing that would cause the girls eyes to widen she had heard the name Tantetsu and had also met one some time ago seeing the metals and abilities that they had on display and was ever curious about them ever since then. "Hold a moment Koton?" the girl would say making her way towards her in the snow.

"The Kekkai Touta of Iwagakurian Origin that allows the user to craft and manipulate steel?" the girl would say eagerly as she approached her. Jun was ever the scholar and absolutely adored learning about new things and in particular had a fascination for Kekkai Genkai and Kekkai Touta in particular since they were things that she herself was unable to actually harness and loved the idea of studying them and testing different theories and hypothesis on such objects. "I had figured your name was coincidental but it would appear not."

The girls eagerness was quite apparent in her eyes as she looked towards the woman. "I've had the pleasure of traveling to Tsuchi no Kuni myself and was able to witness the intricacies and complexitis of its technique and would love the chance to observe it up close? Perhaps I can help you document your training?" the girl would say not exactly having too much she could really offer her outside of maybe recording a few of the things that she's doing and possibly offer her thoughts but she still figured it would be a fun opportunity to learn more about it.

However the girl was being a bit overly enthusiastic and wasn't even certain what her response would be, and after a moment would bashfully pause "Or I could perhaps leave you in private and you may study on your own..." she would say somewhat bashfully her love for knowledge overcoming her and causing a slight degree of social ineptitude.

Nashida is a bit surprised at the wide-eyed wonder that Jun shows as soon as the taller woman mentions her ability to use the Tantetsu clan's kekkei tota, and she wonders for a moment if she'd perhaps been a bit too forthcoming with that information. However, judging by how she was reacting with at least a lot of enthusiasm for seeing the use of Koton being performed. She could make use of it, even if Jun is asking to see it for more personal desires, rather than to assist her with learning more about using the Steel Release to its full effect. Even still, Nashida is rather interested in trying to learn to more accurately control her chakra, and Jun might at least give her some insight on how to do so, whether intentionally or not. Her face doesn't change much as these thoughts race through her head, still a frowning expression when Jun seems to pull back a little on her enthusiasm, but Nashida wants her at least as keen as she is on training, so she has to respond quickly.

"Surely someone training to participate in the Chuunin Exams has some wisdom to give? It's always better to train with one of their peers."

Her pensive expression is replaced with a very rare smile, though it's short-lived as always. It seems she's not one for smiles, normally, but at least she seems ready to begin with some of the training she'd planned on doing. The blonde removes all ten shuriken from her weapons pouch and forms them into a set of three saw blades, serrated edges spinning in the air around Nashida's head before she launches them at the wooden training dummy, each blade slicing and tearing through the material as easily as through water, and Nashida lets out a little huff, making a small cloud of water vapor burst from her mouth from the effort of using the Koton ninjutsu. The blades had managed to cut straight through the dummy's arms and its neck, showing just what kind of damage she could do to a normal man.

"Hmph. Just like that..."

[attr="class","skullbody"]Jun would take a gander as the woman offered up her explanation and she'd be grateful for her to actually give her a demonstration as the weapons that she held in her disposal would be transformed into what looked to be saw blades she'd examine for a moment before they were thrown and would watch the way that they had landed and would see how they would cut into the wood with rather serrated strikes.

"Fascinating." the girl would say as she looked over the weaponry that was lodged into the wood. "The cuts are jagged just as one would expect...and the material." she'd pull out a steel dagger that she was given by a friend of hers from Kirigakure. "The material seems...nearly identical at least based on appearances." she'd look back over towards Nashida, taking out her notebook and turning a seperate page scribbling down some documentation on a page entitled "Tantetsu Nashida, Jutsu Documentation."

"Do you know what materials its based on? Or perhaps if it has any elemental weaknesses?" she'd say as she walked back over towards her. "I can provide access to Katon should you need it." the girl would say as she gestures towards the burns she left on the tree if she noticed specifically they were Fuinjutsu seals, the great weight seal to be exact. "I also happen to have a personal hypothesis I wish to test that I believe may also be beneficial to us both should we find ourselves on the battlefield together." the girl would say.

"Could you perhaps craft some some kind of statue or perhaps a dome of some sort?" she'd stop to think for a moment. "Preferrably about 2 and a half meters tall and 2 meters wide." the girl would ask she had a few techniques at her disposal and was curious to see how they would stack up against such a thick metal and also wanted to see if it had a boiling point like most other techniques.

Nashida feels pretty good about the attack, though the technique was somewhat taxing for most ninja. She walks over after Jun starts walking forwards, walking a little more slowly than she normally would in order to completely avoid trampling over the shorter kunoichi. It really was like an adult looking down at a child when her blue eyes had to point downwards so far in order to look Jun in the eyes, but she refused to look past her or over her head, both of which would be absolutely disrespectful. She blinks a bit in surprise at the sight of that steel dagger, and her eyes quickly ascertain that it's definitely not Tantetsu steel. She wonders at that a little, she had mentioned that she'd seen the Tantetsu at work before, but it didn't look like the steel dagger had been made by any clansmen.

She doesn't really see what Jun is writing, although she certainly could if she leaned over even just a little. Instead, she was busy picking back up the sawblades and returning them to the form of shuriken once more. Nashida wanted to try attaining better control of the sawblades, perhaps even guide them to an even more specific, smaller target. But her thoughts are interrupted by Jun's questions, and she takes the focus off of her self-absorbed reverie to answer.

"Steel has no weaknesses. The weakness is only ever in the flesh."

Nashida nods silently to herself after such an answer, though this probably won't satisfy Jun all that much. It would have to do from the Tantetsu Genin, though, as she seems to be just fine with this response herself. She is somewhat intrigued in her offer of a personal hypothesis with a benefit to them both if they find themselves on the battlefield. The request of a dome isn't really possible with what Nashida can produce, but the steel statue, now that's something that can be done.

"Hmmmm... Let's see it, then."

The Genin tosses the previously-used shuriken onto the ground and with an intense amount of focus, without even using handseals, is able to form the shuriken into a clone of herself, utilizing the Steel Release to form it into an exact replica before she gives the clone a decisive strike to its neck, an attack that might seriously harm a normal human, but merely causes the clone to revert into a perfect seven foot tall steel statue that looks exactly like her. Then she turns to look at Jun, feeling quite curious about what Katon might do to such thick steel as this. After all, there wasn't a forge anywhere near them, and Katon by itself probably couldn't reach forge heat.

"Hmm...while I believe that to be true this is why testing is necessary." the girl would say as she'd watch her remove the weapons she threw into the wood as she kept scribbling her words down into her notebook.

After this trail had continued the girl would watch as she created a clone it wasn't what she asked for but she walked up to it. "No..." she'd say her eyes widened as she'd tap the clone on its abdomen practically disregarding the fact the fact that it was a clone. "So as note with my particular technique is that I'm not fully certain if it is able to function on Chakra conductive materials, the clone itself is made from metal so I wonder..." with that the girl would stand fast and would craft a few handseals and would fire it off towards the clone and would note that the clones clothing would not burn.

"These would be the effects of the metal in action it coats the clothing so that all of it retains its hardened surface fascinating." she'd look up towards the tall statuesque like figure and smiles. "Hmm that's one trail complete." she'd say taking out her notebook and writing down some more information. She seemed overjoyed at the prospect a wide grin as she scribbled things down. "Now then for the next trail, you may want to stand back."

Nashida watches with a firmly stoic expression on her face as Jun seems maybe a bit too interested in her steel clone, eyeing how Jun approaches it, seemingly in awe at the likeness of her clone and how it was made of steel and still moving like a real, living person. In response to her exclamation, the Genin wryly responds with her own singular word answer, as though prepared for it. Perhaps her tutor's sense of own dry humor was rubbing off on her for her to make such a joke.

"Yes."

Her facial expression remains firmly stone-like, only really half-listening as Jun takes notes on the clone, wondering aloud if the clone is capable of chakra conductivity itself. Nashida herself isn't sure, at the moment, but she figures she's about to find out with Jun. Her face betrays little in the way of surprise when there's a quick series of handseals followed by a blast of fire hitting the statue of steel, causing almost no damage to its form. It was as she expected; a simple or low-ranking Katon technique isn't really able to melt down the steel so easily, although it would certainly have made the statue extremely hot to the touch. The Yuki ninja tilts her head as Jun states that she's finished with that particular trial, and then, after taking some more notes, suggests that she stands back.

Nashida grunts softly, but does indeed take several steps back and away from her own steel statue, until she's around six meters away from the steel doppelganger, watching closely to see what the Chuunin Exam practitioner has in mind for her Tantetsu steel. If it's hot enough to melt steel, she would likely need to step back even further, and it would probably defrost the permafrost layer near them and turn the snow into mud, so the blonde kunoichi prepares herself to move back much further as she watches Jun closely.

[attr="class","skullbody"]As the girl would denote her simple one word responses she appreciated that the woman would allow her to study it in peace like a mad scientist and her assistant working together to craft some sort of concoction. Now then once the girl had moved back a sufficient amount of steps Jun would tell her she should move further back and with that the girl would concentrate as her eyes began giving off a glow a reddish glow.

After a moment she would fire off a brand that if red correctly as the translucent red orb made its way towards its intended target would read the words. "Bakuhatsu." the kanji for explosion the girl would send a sufficient amount of chakra into the orbs and the brand would sear itself onto the body of the clone. "You may want to cover your ears." the girl would think to herself.

After a moment the girl would craft a single handseal and a massive explosion would ring out that would push back the snow on the ground revealing the dirt underneath that was almost never seen the clone itself if it managed to withstand the explosion would find itself completely mangled, with parts of it possible blows a few feet away from where they were standing.

Jun herself would be quite exhausted after doing so dropping a knee as the heat in the air dispursed after the explosion had concluced, the smoke would cover the air for a moment and she'd look towards Nashida's last known location. "Nashida are you alright!" the girl would ask as she coughed, whilst at the same time removing her notebook in order to document her findings.

One of the simplest jutsu thought to almost all beginner fuuinjutsu users. This technique has been used for centuries being put on exploding notes of all sorts. The idea behind this jutsu is to seal a certain amount of the user's chakra inside of a seal and release it at a later date using a simple seal. The user is capable of inscribing the seal onto any [non human] surface and the explosion strength can be varied depending on how much chakra the user puts into the seal. C rank being your average explosive note.

Nashida is somewhat skeptical of any need to move further back, but then Jun had to be an expert in her own jutsu, so she decides to move even further back and away from the statue of steel that her clone had left behind when it had dispersed from her singular hit. After several more meters put between herself and the remains of her clone, she turns back around in time to see a large red orb with the symbol for an explosion moving towards the steel statue, and her eyes grow wide, having never seen anything like that before. The blonde rapidly brings her hands up to her ears, carefully cupping her palms over them to keep a layer of dead air over both her ears just in time for the blast to erupt with her statue at its center.

Thankfully, the dead air acts as a barrier, stopping the shockwave from bursting her eardrums, and she doesn't remove her hands from her ears until she sees the smoke, signifying that the pressure wave has passed by them already. She removes both hands and rather stoically walks right through the smoke, though the residual heat from the explosion is still considerably warmer than what most would consider comfortable. She sees the mangled remains of the steel, quite surprised by the damage done to it, and she lifts it up and carries it over to where Jun is coughing on the smoke created by her own explosive technique.

"What exactly was that? Is it possible to learn such a technique that can tear apart steel almost as easily as I can?"

As though to prove that she really is that person, she floods what remains of the statue with her own Koton chakra, and with what looks like a natural ease, Nashida molds the steel back into a shape somewhat similar to that of its previous form, though now it was missing quite a lot of steel that had been completely atomized by the explosion, and so the statue she's left with is only about five feet tall, rather than over seven feet like Nashida herself had been.

While Jun was winded from pushing herself like that, Nashida seemed unfazed by her own work of reshaping the steel into a proper form again, before looking over the statue and seeing that it's quite a lot shorter. Her facial expression is unimpressed, but internally, she was quite surprised by the power that had just been on display. She'd had to really work her chakra deep into the steel to be able to change it so much.

A predecessor to stronger techniques of the same type, this allows the clan member to focus their chakra into an existing piece of metal and warp a part of it slightly, often into the shape of a handle to assist in climbing or prevent falling.

"Now then here are my findings." the girl would say as she began to read off what she had written, still taking a knee.

"It would appear that much like standard metal is it quite durable and does seem to possess a degree of resistance to heat,however--" she would turn the page looking back over at the taller woman. "When faced with a sufficient amount of heat much like any other metal it is in fact succeptable to breaking apart, however this requires a signifigant amount of explosive force, but the exact amount remains unknown." she would say having presented her findings.

She'd then hand them up to her for her to read on her own however as she went over the notes that she gave her what she might notice is that Juns handwriting is incredibly elegant despite being written so hastily a hold over from her families practicies of caligraphy which gave her a greater appreciation for craftsmanship and artistry in general.

"It would also appear that despite the metal being made from chakra it in of itself when standing alone is simply that "metal" you see there are certain surfaces, such as those that conduct or react to chakra that my abilities do not work on." Jun would remove the staff that she was carrying on her back and would show it to her and by funneling some of her chakra into the weapon it would enflame for a moment before fizzling out.

"These properties are usually applied when a weapon is being forged and the aren't normally present in rudimentary techniques unless the technique in question was specifically designed with the functionality in mind." she would place her hand beneath her chin as she contemplated further, as she placed the staff away.

"I had theorized that since the technique was made of metal that the metal it would have such properties naturally applied, which was why I wanted to test it by using that technique you just witnessed, but it would appear I was wrong." Her words were a bit rambly but Jun was always a bit rambly. Eventually she'd take a seat the expenditure of chakra having winded her. The woman towering over her nearly like a building. "So tell me have my findings given you any insight into your abilties?" she'd say thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Nashida is a bit overwhelmed by the rapid-fire words being thrown at her, but her face remains stony and resolute as she looks over Jun's notes. In reality, they're written too prettily for her to read, as she usually preferred things written plainly and with sharply defined letters. Like the white-haired girl's own words and apparently her thoughts, the letters of her calligraphy all ran together. While it looked nice for her, it just was not legible for the other Genin as she stares down at it and resolves herself to simply listen to Jun's rambling speech about how her metal techniques, despite being made of chakra, didn't have any inherent chakra-reactive ability, which she actually already knew herself. Not that she could really get in a word edgewise while the Chuunin Exam participant ran her mouth like a horse.

She simply waits, staring silently until Jun actually gives her the chance to respond with her own insights, and the blonde woman tilts her head once more as she hands the notebook back to Jun, and like an old warrior who knows that they need only speak as little as needed, gives another very short answer.

"I think you speak a lot."

With that, Nashida turns back towards her metallic statue and slowly, gradually works the metal back into ten shuriken, which might seem a bit odd, but she only needed the base materials before adding her own chakra to it to make more steel. As it is, the steel itself had to be present in order for her to make full and effective use of it. She places the shuriken back together, thinking about what it might mean for her Steel Release to not have any chakra reactivity, and her quietude is broken once more by a thought of her own.

"It's possible that if I get my hands on some metal that has these chakra reactive properties, that my own Koton techniques might also gain that capability. But that would require a lot of training to learn to do, and it might be out of my wheelhouse for now, at least until I've completed my Koton training..."

Nashida lets out a wistful sigh, but then she performs five handseals, practically juggling the shuriken between each movement of her hands before turning each of the shuriken into small projectiles covering her fingers, and she points both fingers at the wooden training dummy, rapidly firing off the bullets into the wood. Each shot breaks the sound barrier, rattling the air and making Nashida's clothes flutter in the blowback, though her body is fully still, save for her fingers, each one extending as the previous bullet fires off. With all six bullets spent, she feels a lot better, and the training dummy looks a lot worse.

"Not that I really need my metal to be chakra reactive, I guess..."

"My apologies I do have a tendency to ramble, but its only because I'm so enthralled by this fascinating chakra nature!" the girl would say wiping some of the soot off of her face and standing to her feet.

As she finished her explanation the girl would remarkably speak in a sentence that was longer than roughly 2 sentences stating that it would be out of her wheelhouse at the current moment. "I reccomend attempting to do so using wood first its actually a rather interesting process really, I hope to experiment with metal working one day, I'd love to have a sword of my own." the girl would say as she removed the dagger she had. "Perhaps we can learn the process together."

"In fact I had plans at one point to attempt a craft a special type of weapon for this dagger, but that's neither here nor there at the moment." with that the girl would finally be able to stand to her feet. "I understand that I may have, taken up some of your time but thank you for humoring me in my experiment it was quite the pleasure." the girl would say a satisfied grin on her face, as she respectfully bowed to her. "Should you ever need a sparring partner will you think of me? I'd love to assist you further and to that same end may I call on you for assistance as well?"

Should the woman agree she would tell her where she can find her families compound in an open area near the outside of the village. "If you ever need to find up look for this symbol." she would turn a page in her book and hand it to her the symbol if she would notice is the same one that's present within her eyes, when using her dojutsu, which would shift back to its amber color. "I must say your abilities are impressive I look forward to seeing how they progress!" spoken like a true scientist.
