As they work, they talk, with Hinoe trying to break the ice between them, and Mitsumi too scared to go with it. Nevertheless, they both agree that it would be best they remained friends.

Although Fuji Naoko is unwilling to engage Hinoe in discussion, due to Kiri-Konoha politics, Hinoe manages to get her into a discussion in which they ask each other about their homes, while fetching water to be used in other places with water scarcity. They leave on pleasant terms, despite the animosity between their villages.
