Ikebana Kadō Tekkadan BASIC INFORMATION NAME: Ikebana Kadō AGE: 26 GENDER: Male BIRTHDAY: July 23rd, 998 VILLAGE: Takigakure CLAN: 生け花 RANK: Jōnin POSITION: Jōnin ; Okuzumeshuu of the Ikebana Clan OTHER ALIAS:Tekkadan - The Iron Flower
APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 5'11" (181 cm) WEIGHT: 180 Lbs
Kadō is of a lighter complexion when compared to most of his clanmates but still maintains a dark tan. He is tall, broad shouldered, and a little thicker of build from his mother's side, a long family history of harsh mountain living keeping meat on his bones a little more than others in Takigakure. His eyes are a deep amber like hardened tree sap and his shoulder length hair held a shock of red - both results of his ritual at a young age. He usually wears a black coat similar in cut to a military uniform of the Land of Iron, the symbol of his clan embroidered on its collar. He pairs it with simple utility cargos and a battle skirt as the samurai wear as part of their armor - tasseled cloth beneath scaled iron kasazuri and haidate. His attire is unorthodox but represents his dual heritage and he wears it proudly.
PERSONALITY NINDO: The strongest iron must seek the hottest flame.
Kadō is a serious man with little time or patience for childish behavior. Years of solitary training under a harsh mother and cold days in the Land of Iron taught him of discipline and the harsh realities of war and sacrifice. He is fiercely loyal to his clan and his village and holds on to his hatred for Konoha hoping to one day destroy the Hyuga clan and lead his clan to prominence. He is a strong proponent of self improvement and encourages everyone to do and be the best they can be. He is his harshest critic and can usually find a way he failed in some objective or another, though he rarely shares these self criticisms with others save for his closest confidants.
HISTORY
Kadō was born to a lower branch of the Ikebana clan with ties to many nations and peoples through trade. Their role within the clan was to create connections and spread the influence. Thus, they were spread far and wide across the shinobi world. Kadō's father often made trips into the Land of Iron where he would meet and marry Kadō's mother. He was no shinobi though, having forgone the ritual that created the Ikebana clan's deadly ninja warriors. His mother though was a warrior, a samurai and like Kadō's father, the scion to a low branch of a large Shogunate. The union was to make both families a little stronger. After his birth however, Kadō's mother became ill and bedridden from a challenging childbirth. Unable to continue her life as a warrior she instilled in Kadō the warrior's spirit, encouraging him to learn to be a great shinobi.
She died when he was five of a wasting disease. At seven Kadō underwent the Ikebana clan ritual. Several grueling days of pain later he emerged, his black hair now with a striking shock of muddy red and his eyes a bright gold. He dedicated his academy days to understanding his abilities, attaining the rank of chunin only five years after graduating as a genin. He took on more and more duties, dedicating himself with a fervor equal to that of a Samurai to their Shogun, defending the head clan with his life going so far as to abandon his father and move in with them instead. He hit a plateau though and he believed he had reached the end of his training.
The night of the attack on his clan by the White Eyed Demon, Hyuga Chiyoko, Kadō was entrusted with the safety of the twin heirs of the Ikebana clan. They barely escaped, Kadō nearly losing his life in the process. Safely within their ancestral estate, the clan continued to fracture, the wills of the elders pulled in every which direction. Despite the elders' indecision, that time of strife pulled the clan low of the clan together. Where once they were scattered like the many seeds of a dandelion they now arranged themselves in close proximity. While most hunkered down within the borders of Taki-land, Kadō was spirited away to the harsh land of Iron under a wardship of his mother's Samurai clan. It was there under the dual tutelage of his harsh Ikebana minder and his Samurai family that he developed his skill with the blade. Some years later he returned to Takigakure to enroll to become a Jōnin, managing to cut his way through his opponents and attain the rank, vowing to do whatever it took to avenge his clan.
Upon his return he was surprised to find that both twins had taken on the clan's ritual, their lives now on a direct course to utter destruction, for such was the life of a shinobi. He returned to them a Jōnin and vowed to protect them and promised vengeance on the Hyuga clan and the Land of Fire.
FIGHTING STYLE
For most opponents Kadō will rely on his speed and skill in Iaidō and Kenjutsu. He keeps both a standard length katana and a wakizashi on his person at all times. He also keeps scrolls with other sealed swords and katana on his person. He prefers to fight up close but do not be fooled. He is adept in focusing his chakra along his blades and launching the raw energy at his opponents from range. Should that fail he is a Jōnin and is familiar with the use of kunai, shuriken, and other ranged weapons.
The two flower families he has sealed himself to give him a large variety of flowering plants at his disposal. He often keeps the seeds on his person, using his fire natured jutusu to encourage their pyrogenic blooming in battle.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Satori No Ko
As all shinobi of the Ikebana do, Kadō has undergone trials of pain to become the shinobi he is. He is able to control and manipulate flowers derived of the rose and plantain families. He can maintain long periods of wakefulness and can live mostly from the energy of the sun alone.
Hatsunetsu-Sei Kaika
Pyrogenic flowering. A result of his natural fire nature, rare in their clan, and Satori No Ko, the flowers and seeds Kadō uses grow more quickly and ferociously when in the presence of fire. While initially it may seem that his flowers wither and die beneath the heat of fire their children rapidly return in overwhelming numbers.
Tekkadan - The Iron Flower
Born of the people of Iron and trained by their famed Samurai from a young age, Kadō's grasp over the sword is superb. His swift strikes with the blade are a credit to his ancestry, able to draw his sword as the legends say - before a ninja has time to make hand seals. His understanding of swordsmanship and the many styles of his mother's homeland and of the ninja world give him a fines with the sword uncommon among shinobi.
Enhanced Chakra Control
A requirement of succeeding in the deadly ritual that gives the Ikebana their powerful abilities, Kadō has a deep and intricate understanding of the way chakra is controlled in one's body and outside of it.
