Thinking on what happened to her ally she'd think realizing this could possibly be a genjutsu and using that knowledge she'd kai herself out of the genjutsu, but would find herself the target of a series of shuriken she'd leap out of the way but her back would still be tagged by two of them cutting into her jacket mildy stinging her, she'd glance over towards the area where the Shuriken came from and would remove her staff in order to defend herself.

With that the girl wouldn't have many options going up against an opponent she couldn't see...the only thing she had to go off of was where his attack come from. "My skills aren't the most equipped for such combat...this is an unexpected scenario, but I musn't give up...I couldn't face Nashida if I did." she'd think to herself. Kai is a technique invented to counteract the targeting of Genjutsu, working by halting one's chakra flow with a hand seal before drastically increasing the rate of chakra flow within oneself, forcing the opposing chakra out of the body. This can also be used on another person by manually forcing a surge of chakra into their body through direct contact, breaking them of their mesmerized state. One's skill to break an illusion depends on their skill and understanding of Genjutsu, as some may prove too powerful to escape by conventional means.

Suzaku passed out due to chakra exhaustion; it was Kyuumu Motoki who interceded on his behalf, swiftly entering and then exiting the smoke with the boy in hand to bring him to the medics before any harm could come to him. Katsuo similarly fell unconscious; he took the brunt of Jun’s technique in order to protect his teammate in an admirable display of teamwork, and when he collapsed to the ground, his barrier shattered, he too was evacuated and brought to the medics—this time by Jokyu Kentaro, the boy’s own uncle. With the match now narrowed to a 1-on-1, it entered an ebb-and-flow as the tides shifted back and forth between the two combatants. In the end, however, Amaya was the one with greater visibility in the arena, and he had the upper hand—eventually he would claim his victory, and the match would be ended. "The winners are,” the announcer hollered, "Shizu Amaya and Jokyu Katsuo!” Jun and Amaya, though neither were grievously injured, would both also be brought in for a quick check-up. With no other challenges in the exams to come, no effort was spared in making sure that all of the participants were hale and whole; once everyone was sufficiently patched up, they would be allowed to return to the spectator stand to watch the remainder of the day’s fights.
