It has been her nickname for as long as she can remember.

appearance HEIGHT: 4'9" | cm WEIGHT: 88 lbs | kg Kuku stands at an intimidating four foot nine and weighs in at a whopping eighty-eight pounds. That is to say, she's not very scary at all, and rather petite and girlish. She has milky skin and glowing pink eyes, a perfect smile and straight teeth. Sharp canines poke from both rows of pearly whites. Kuku's features are thin, from her eyebrows to her nose to her lips. Her heart-shaped head sits upon a slender throat, sloping shoulders and a lithe frame. Kuku is endowed, her chest round and hips sharp, and often accentuates these assets with choice garbs, while managing to remain modest and efficient.  Dark brown hair blooms from her skull, and she does well to tend to it, keeping it thick and healthy. It is a flowing, jagged mop that sits all around her face and shoulders, as long as her tailbone. The ends of her hair are dyed crimson red. She has a cropped fringe, and leaves hair to frame her face even when she throws all this weight into an updo. Kuku's signature look might be twin tails, but she is no stranger to an array of styles.  Kuku wears some traditional Japanese clothes whether it be on or off duty, and her wardrobe does not adhere to one aesthetic. One day she might be wearing a luscious yukata, hip slits on either side allowing for prominent asskicking; the next she'll be in a skirt and jacket, with boots that climb her thighs. Whatever she's wearing, it has gone through a scrutinizing process to ensure it is fashionable (and practical) enough. Kuku prefers reds and pinks with accents if black and gold. She also tends to wear a choker, even though her black-cloth Kirigakure hitai-ate also adorns her throat. Atop her head, Makui tends to wear a decorated fox mask. This represents her blazing chakra's form, which she has dubbed "Kitsuné." She also dabbles in makeup, but keeps it to red, winged eyeliner and two symmetrical red dots beneath each eye.

personality NINDO: "The world belongs to me as much as I belong to it." Steadfast, determined, headstrong. Kuku is, above all else, a fiery spirit blazing through life; she takes what she wants, does what she wants, is who she wants to be. Kuku has an unhealthy relationship with the world around her, taking far more than she gives. In truth, Kuku is an all out selfish, ignorant brat that does not understand the world doesn't revolve around her. She has an inflated ego, a chip on her shoulder, a yawning need to be the best.  This swagger does not come without the evidence to back it up; Kuku has admittedly always been good at whatever she sets her mind to. She is no stranger to hard work and broken sweat determination, making her that much more confident in her own abilities. She is sure that she does not need anyone else, that she can take the world on alone. Kuku is the main character, and things that aren't important to her simply fall off the radar. This has always been the case, there is no evidence submitted to prove otherwise - she simply does not comprehend that the people around her exist just as wholly as she does. In rare moments of sonder, Kuku is almost overwhelmed by the insight of others. She is green, envious of those better than her. This jealousy pushes her to so better. This jealousy is sacred. Kuku has an obsessive personality, losing herself entirely to new objects, new concepts, new people. When she grows attached to something, it is hers. Fiercely protective of what belongs to her, Kuku does not hesitate to pull the trigger. Not only will everything (and everyone) she owns have claw marks from her attempts at keeping it close, Kuku is forever curious about the things she loves. She is desperate to learn more and more, hoping to discover the truths of the universe. Her connection with illusions, psychosomatic as well as transcendental, enlightens her.  Emotions are hard to process. The only one Kuku is comfortable with is rage, red hot to the touch. Everything else is icky, and being too vulnerable is despicable. Kuku cannot control her emotions, but she can channel them all into that anger - even when she is ridden by grief, she is liable to destroy before tears ever make it to the surface. Because she is so out of touch with her emotions, Makui is out of touch with social cues. She is not incredibly self-aware, but she knows enough to realize that she is inept when it comes to creating true bonds.

history -father (guitsu) is a true blood momochi born from cousin and cousin, he was raised a tool. An instrument for kirigakure. Served in the Civil War. Die hard believer in clan ideology. -marries a woman that his father picked for him; rikawa. as is tradition in his branch of the family, he has one child. disappointed its a girl, names her makui with the kanji for "great" as a slight on her -rikawa is allowed 2 years with makui before guitsu takes over parental rights, threatening to divorce and dishome rikawa should she interfere with the training -starting as early as 3, guitsu works hands on with his daughter to shape her into the type of woman he wants her to be -by 5, makui shows promise; her chakra molding is phenomenal, her fundamental understandings are ever growing. guitsu brags to rikawa that she has the same natural chakra as him, instead of rikawa's suiton -rikawa sadly watches her daughter turn into a mini guitsu; demanding, stubborn, Steadfast and fiery. grows distant because guitsu does not want makui coddled.  -after a particularly rough training session a few years later, guitsu finds rikawa comforting makui. guitsu hits her, and tells her that heroes are not made by soft hands. Drags makui into the training room for another session; he beats the first appearance of his daughter's shroud. it is red and on fire, a fox of pink lightning. she blacks out and lashes out, leaving three large gashes across her father's chest -this does not stop guitsu; instead, he punishes her, turning the experience into a regular routine  -at 8, makui is enrolled to the kirigakure academy -makui is mean, downright shitty to other kids. she has a steely heart and harsh words, never letting any of them in. she does not make friends, but she does excel in school - her prowess gains attention from her peers, and she is either hated or loved, but feelings for her are passionate. Rumors spread about her - "the girl with the scary aura, like a tailed beast" - for this, makui learns to hate jinchuriki, but also names her fox spirit "kitsune" -a teacher at school notices makui's various bruises, a split lip once, a broken arm - when they ask what its from, makui answers truthfully - training with her father, duh -an investigation is held which leads to the argument - what is too far? Is this not outright abuse? -makui doesn't understand why she is separated from her father, or why she's stuck with her weakling mother.  -thinking it'll bring him back, makui focuses on school, on being a ninja, on honing her skills. She graduates via an academy tournament where she is pitted in a fight against 12 other students - she wins all three of her fights. -genin at 13 -placed on genin team 5, does not do well, does not get along with her peers and often runs the show whether they like it or not -team 5's jounin schedules a transfer to genin team 7; this proves a worse choice, as makui only gets more and more annoyed with the level of respect she gets. -somewhat of a problem child, the momochi family does not want her to blemish their name, so to appease her they designate her a student of the Sage himself.  -this satisfies the girl enough.
